Unlike most other doctor s offices I was called back at the time of my scheduled appointment and surprisingly in such a busy practice the staff and doctors seem to still care about their patients.

Visit to Dr. MacDonald for test results. Very pleasant, explained condition, what needed to be done and how follow up would be handled. Took fear away once understood what was happening and treatment. Staff so friendly love this group. Always will recommend them.
For 9 years I have been a patient of Watauga Orthopaedics and I have seen different doctors for different reasons. I have the utmost confidence in them and appreciate they are faithful servants of our Lord. Thank you.
Staff was very friendly and I was able to be seen very quickly even as a walk in and a new patient. Dr. Jenkins was terrific and I would highly recommend him!
Love the convenience of this place. It's not always easy to take time off from your job to see a doctor. It's nice that they are open later in the evening. The staff is always friendly and very helpful as well.
I was told to that I need to see a surgeon . I Have appointment a week later with the surgeon to talk about my lelf shoulder. Real nice doctors and peoples that waited on me very nice.
Every one was very nice ,friendly and professional. It was a good experience. Earl saw Dr.Detroye and he was excellent explained everything and gave him his options, couldn t have asked for more . Thank you to everyone there !
Always great customer service and great help from all the providers. Special shout outs to Alvin Murphy, Dr Wells, and Dr Macdonald. Thanks to the X-ray techs for being quick and efficient. Thanks to the nurses and front end staff for getting me in and out quickly and handling all the workman s compensation paperwork and hassles.
Everyone at Watauga Orthopedics has been great to deal with. Amanda in Physical Therapy has been very helpful. I ve used WO for years and plan to continue if the need arises.
Because of weather related cancellations, I was able to get a same day appointment with Dr. Todd Fowler. I arrived 10 minutes early and was taken to check-in immediately where I signed paperwork and paid my copay. Then I returned to the waiting room where I waited less than 10 minutes to go back to an examination room. The assistant came in to get details of issue and then x rays were done. About 10 minutes later, Dr. Fowler came in to give the diagnosis and treatment plan. A few minutes after that, the splint guy came in and fitted the splint and talked about its importance. Less than an hour from getting there, I was leaving!
Watauga Orthopaedics is very professional place to take your medical needs to. The nurse and Dr Wells are so nice and kind and make you feel they care.
All of the services I have received from this practice have been very good. This includes walk-in, hip replacement, knee treatment and other joint troubles.
I had a hiking accident and had surgery on my ankle for trimalleolar fractures with deformity. Unfortunately, it happened while out of the area and I had difficulty with getting follow up care in the area. Watauga Orthepedic practice was recommended by many people. I went to their Quick Care and have nothing but good say about my visit and care. They were kind, efficient, and willing to take the time to answer my questions and concerns. I made a right choice with Watauga Orthepedic Practice to follow up with my care. Many thanks and appreciation.
Staff both in regular & walk in clinics are very courteous & helpful. Answered all my questions about my condition in regards to brace & having to go to PT; also discussed further treatment options, which in the past , I've been able to avoid surgery!!
I have always been treated with compassion and respect. I have been operated on by both Dr. Stewart and Dr. Macray. I have also had follow ups with their assistants. I have always been treated with dignity and my concerns are always addressed. The gentleman that performed my x rays was very nice and put me at ease. Dora, who checked me in was so helpful when I had issues with my insurance. She went the extra mile for me and got the issue resolved. The after hours urgent care is awesome. It is so nice to be able to see a specialist immediately and not have to deal with an emergency room filled with illnesses. They are always professional and caring and I have never experienced a long wait. The physical therapy I have received from David Lilly downstairs was always helpful. I felt like he cared and truly wanted to help me with my pain and implemented a program I could benefit from both before and after my surgery. I can't recommend this office highly enough. Wonderdul, caring, professional people who take the time to educate their patients and give 100% to help them heal. I would not be treated anywhere else!
Horrible horrible experience. Paid 100 up front to be seen and then we waited for over 2 hrs. Then the doctor walks in for a split second and said it looks good and walks out. Not a hi..bye...nothing. My boyfriend dislocated his elbow messed up the rest of his arm and tore ligaments and muscle off the bone. The doctor didn't even look at it. Looks at us and walked straight out. Never even touched him to see if it hurt or even asked. Never even introduced himself. He has pain and numbness in the hand and bruising is spreading. Will not go back.
I ve been a patient here for many years for various reasons. Recently I have been treated for chronic/severe low back pain. An issue I ve struggled with since I was a child.
Unfortunately a recent nerve block was not successful although Dr. Duncan did this procedure with utmost professionalism and excellent bedside manners.
In my 2 week follow up appointment he discovered this pain may be my SI Joint. He took the time (although not scheduled) and gave me an injection and I had 70% relief immediately! The next morning I felt no pain whatsoever! I was treated by all the staff in a professional manner!
Thanks to the great care by Watauga Orthopedics, me knees are already feeling better!!!! Osteoarthritis is something I'll have to live with, but Dr. Sutterlin and Dr. Akin have given me help in dealing with it. I also love their nurse, Teresa. She's awesome!!!!
Had the best experience at Watauga. My daughter was super excited to be released. Dr. Parks was very kind and answered every question we had. Thank You!!
Gail Hall, 11/13/18 The idea of a walk-in clinic for orthopedics is an excellent addition to our area, especially since hospitals seem to be so limited these days. To be honest, I was very apprehensive to go but there was no need for my apprehension. This office is a well-oiled machine. When we checked in, we barely got our seats warm before we were called back to see the Dr. It was like that throughout my office experience. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone for anything.
11/20/18 Returned today for a recheck and saw Dr. Kent Lord. He listened to all my complaints about my accident and kept searching until he found the cause of my pain when no one else was concerned at other hospitals I visited. It turned out to be a fracture and not just a sprain. From the doctors, the nurses and the receptionists to the intake clerks and all of their support staff, they all really want you to have a pleasant experience when you visit them. They put me at ease and I knew they were going to take care of me. I highly recommend Watauga Orthopedics to anyone!!! Great job
Do NOT go here. My dad starting having excruciating pain in his hip and back from inflammation he has been battling while he was at work, and he decided to get someone from his office to drive him down to the Kingsport branch. They did NOTHING to attempt to relieve his discomfort. They literally just let him lay there in god-awful pain. They told him that it was probably just a pinched nerve, and his back was really tight and knotted up. They prescribed him a round of steroids and muscle relaxers and referred him back to his primary care physician. Mind you, now, he had already been prescribed steriods and muscle relaxers by his doctor the month before. That obviously did not do anything, so why these "specialists" thought that giving him more steriods and muscle relaxers would work, I don't know. They also ordered him a "stat" MRI. He is yet to receive a call about that. He was sweating and trembling from the pain while they wheeled him out (he could not bear any weight on his left leg). My mom asked him if they gave him anything to help relieve it and the man who was pushing his wheelchair informed her that they couldn't do or give him anything. Thanks to these lovely people, my poor father is still in horrendous pain and is out at Urgent Care trying to get an MRI as I write this. This place is a joke.
My husband just had major rotator cuff surgery 4 weeks ago and is doing really good! Dr. Thomas W. Gill did an amazing job with very little to no pain. We highly recommended them. The therapist next door, Mr. David R Lilly has done an awesome job with my husband. He feels better every time after he leaves. Still recovering & feeling great compared to the pain he was in prior to his surgery. Thank you so much .
Horrible place. Did my mother's hip surgery. She nearly lost her life. She has lived in a wheel chair, since the surgery. I thought it was a rare thing to happen, until I met others that had other surgeries, even knee surgery, and never walked again. Go somewhere else for orthopedic surgery. This place doesn't deserve one star. I had to give it to comment.
My daughter hurt her leg and I just walked right in. The front desk lady is awesome checked my daughter in while I was helping her out of the car. The wait time to be seen without an appointment was only a couple of minutes. Everett Baker is also another awesome employee at Watauga he took great care of my daughter and was very helpful with all my questions. This place has excellent bed side manners and I would highly recommend them to anyone!!! Great place to go for any Orthopedic issues!!!
I had a Great visit @ Watauga Orthopaedics on 3/5/20. Alvin, a PA did a super job with the Injections to my right knee. Also, Dr. Greg Stewart @ Watauga Orthopaedics replaced my Left knee 2 years ago, and did a Great job. My new knee is a joy to have. Thanks Dr. Stewart!!
For not having an appointment and just walking in this was fantastic. Everyone was nice and I know they were tired. Wednesday after Christmas had to be busy. I was very please with my appointment!
Luv all the staff. Everyone is so friendly. Even tho they were running behind that day, we had so much fun joking & cutting up with the nurses. Just a fun & friendly environment!
Well I wasn't even seen by a doctor was only seen by a male nurse that looked at my broken finger for 1 sec and said he was going to have to have doctor look at it and left. 30 mins later same nurse comes in and wraps finger and puts splint on it very rough causing a lot of pain laughing and making jokes that it wasn't hurting him at all. Sat in room another 45 mins waiting for note for work had to go find a nurse to see how much longer it would be I was in a lot of pain just wanted to get home and put ice on it. Finally got paper work asked male nurse that played doctor for my visit when the throbbing would ease up he laughed and said a few days to take tylonal. I was pretty much told to deal with it then sent to a check outline that was going to take probably another 40 mins had nurses putting other patients in front of me so my wife and I just walked out. So bottom line is I was assulted by my neighbor and his pit bull I had many injuries was told by ER I had to come here for my broke finger. I was charged 300 dollars to mostly sit waiting. Out of 2 hours I was seen for not even five never even got seen by doctor was handed a roll of tape to wrap finger told to come back in 2 weeks to get charged another 300 for them to give me another roll of tape and sit waiting. Tape cost a dollar at store. After all of that I got home and read my paper work and work note and every bit of information on it was incorrect. Had wrong finger and instead of the work note saying no work for 3 days the note said to return to work the same day. So I just felt like I went there to be charged 300 and what felt like being assulted all over again. I had to return to ER that night do to how much pain I was in was told by the doctor not a nurse that not only was finger broke a big chunk of bone was missing and I would need to have surgery and could not return to work until further notice. I will not returning to this office. The only positive thing I can say about my visit is that the women that did my information and explained payment was extremely nice to my wife and I. She seen that I was a lot of pain and was very caring.
I have been going to this group since June and with every visit I was shown kindness, professionalism, and always a prompt visit. Everyone was great from the front desk , radiology, Rachel, nurses and checkout.
David Lily is awesome, very helpful, and patient! You can also learn a lot from the other therapists as well just from your visits! The assistants are knowledgeable too and have great direction from the therapists!
Appointment with Dr Aiken and Shawn Sutterlin was very good. Both very good at explaining the details of my progress with my knee surgery.Highly recommend Dr.Aiken and Shawn to all people with orthopedic injuries.
Very unprofessional acting and arrogant. Doctor told me that I had arthritis in my knee, but he never did tell me what type of arthritis it is. Was told by the nurse after I went into the room that I would have to have a MRI. done. If she would have bothered to check, I had all that done prior to my visit here. I brought the disc's with me. These people just don't have their act together. Getting a second opinion with another Orthopaedics Group.
Dr. Jeff France has been my orthopedic surgeon for almost 10 years. That in itself says a lot! Dr. France is an awesome doctor and an awesome person! He has always been very nice, and he listens to his patients. I know Dr. France really cares about his patients. Sadly, most doctors just are not like that anymore. His nurse, Amy has always been so nice and helpfu, and she still is. Today everyone there was very nice --- from check in to X Ray to the doctor who gave me my injection to checkout! I had a very positive experience today. Thank all of you very much!
This is my 2nd injury in 2 years using Watauga Orthopedics. Everyone in the office is top notch - they're always positive, optimistic professionals and I highly recommend them.
Watauga Orthopedics is awesome! They have a walk-in clinic that operates M-F. I would have waited a month to even see an Orthopedic doctor in my area. I was able to get an MRI that same day to diagnose my problem! The staff is always friendly and courteous. I've always been taken back to see a doctor within just a few minutes of my appointment. Dr. Wells did an excellent job on my ACL repair. Dr. Parks was great as well and offered other options in case I wanted to wait on surgery. The PA that I saw was also very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The nurses are very friendly and helpful too! I highly recommend both of the Watauga offices in either Kingsport or Johnson City.
Wonderful experience...went in for an MRI on shoulder was seen quickly.. follow up date scheduled within 3 days of MRI..staff very friendly and professional.
I broke my arm on July 4th and used the walk-in clinic the next day. I was seen by Dr. Cook in about 20 minutes (much faster than if I had gone to emergency room). After staying in sling for two weeks, then physical therapy my arm is healed just have to work on strengthening it. A big Thank You to Watauga Orthopedics (Dr Cook, the techs, X-ray techs and the receptions) for the excellent service
Dr. Macdonald amd Dr. Duncan are amazing. If you need orthopedic help ..... go to to watauga orthopedics for your cure. Trust me on this one. I've heard all the doctors are good there. I wouldn't go anywhere else
.every single person you encounter is friendly ...smiling. ..courteous. ...wait time minimal..drs.dont rush in and out....talk to you....and they take my pain away and bring me back to some kind of normal...
My entire family has been coming here for several years for sports and farm injuries .The doctors and staff we have seen have been professional, caring and thorough .We have been very pleased with the care we received. The wonderful staff at the front desk and check-in are the most cheerful, helpful people we have encountered at check-in at any medical professional office. We refer all friends and family here. And we most appreciate the quick clinic since our schedules are very tight and it is helpful to be seen initially without an appointment.
I will never be back again. They had me and my daughter waiting for 2 hours and then almost another 1hr just to take pictures. We just wanted to know if she needs a cast.
All staff professional and helpful and Very friendly. Physical therapy department excellent. Sam Cook the PA is very informative and takes time to explain . Dr Dustin Price did a wonderful job with my husbands knee replacement. He takes time to explain and has a great attitude. He told us when he would be back to see my husband in the hospital and what his plans were and followed through with them in a timely manner just like he said . Will continue using watauga orthopedics . Will definitely use Dr Price again.
My grandparent(s) were waiting to see the doctor, & me & my 12-year-old niece went in to use the restroom, & when we came out the woman at the front desk asked if we were patients, I said no, then she tells me that the restrooms are for patients only for future reference. Extremely rude. We did nothing wrong, & didn't bother anyone. There was NO reason for her to say that to us in front of everyone in the waiting room. She was very condescending. There's an addiction recovery place next door, so I guess she assumed that I was an addict & using their restroom wasn't allowed.
This was my second visit, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the doctor I saw was caring and attentive to my situation. I'm fortunate to have received a referral to see Dr. Duncan and will refer them in the future.
Just completed physical therapy following a total knee replacement. Can't say enough good things about Dr. France and Aaron and David in PT. I would definitely recommend them!!
Wonderful, professional, and possitive attitudes from all staff I've encountered over the years. I have recently started seeing Dr. Duncan for my lower back issues. He has been the first to really give me some relief! He has went above and beyond to get my testing and procedure done quickly due to a restriction on my end. He has truly worked hard to get me relief without having to have surgery! Dr. Duncan has amazing bedside mannors and made me feel super comfortable from the very first visit. Also his nurse is phenomenal as well!!!
Going to Watauga Orthopaedic, PLC Clinc and seeing Dr. Detroye and meeting his staff has been great experience. I have pain w/ knee he's making sure i wil be taken care an his staff. Back home I made sure telling my family my Dr. is very kind, helpful, listens and very nice. I can tell he cares about what my issues are along w/ assistant. Everything is important, I want to say thank you for getting plans in place start my therapy.. Jo
Unfortunately I have been to this office several times and saw Dr. Stewart who performed knee replacement and Dr. Fowler in the past for broken foot and this time around for a broken hand. From the time I walk in until I check out everyone is always friendly and helpful.
My therapist, David Lilly is the best! He provides me with the best physical therapy. His assistants are wonderful. The entire physical therapy facility are the best!
JoJo is always the best and the lady that scheduled my MRI and handled the Insurance work is outstanding. Of course, Dr. Wells is a great Dr. that I would recommend to anyone.
Dr. McCrea and Dr. Scott took time to fully explain my condition along with treatment options. I really appreciated their thoroughness and professionalism.
My visit was a solid 10. Vanessa Gilley is really a 12. She is the best. She is very personable and professionable. Entry and exit staff were also good.
I have had to go to watuaga orthopaedics twice now. I had a torn ligament in my foot and I broke my finger and all the visits I ve had with them have been amazing! They are always very prompt with my appointment and do the very best to get my limbs back to their capabilities. Without a doubt one of if not the best orthopedics in our area. I always leave with a smile!
I have been to 2 other doctors and they did not want to seem to help me! Watauga has already ordered an MRI for me to! Thanks! Now I'm in therapy Whitch is great.
I tore my ACL during a flag football game & chose to go to the Watauga Orthopedics walk-in clinic. I was seen in a timely manner by both a PA and MD. After a thorough exam, a MRI was performed and confirmed my ACL tear.
My surgeon, Dr. Wells. was consulted after the MRI results came back. He gave me non-surgical and surgical evidence-based treatment options & helped guide my decision making. Due to school, family, and recreation factors we decided surgical repair was best for me. He answered all of my questions and explained all aspects of the surgery/recovery. Dr. Wells even added on my surgery to his already full operating schedule the following Monday. I really appreciate his dedication to my care.
Before and after surgery Dr. Wells & the OR team made me feel at ease with their top notch bedside manner. My ACL reconstructive surgery went smoothly, & my PT/recovery are coming along quite well.
Overall, Dr. Wells & the Watauga Orthopedic clinic staff provided the highest quality of orthopedic care one can ask for. They were a blessing that helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life!
I always get personable and professional care when I see the Providers at Watauga Orthopaedics. I have had two surgeries and have been well taken care of.
I went in waited over two hours and wasn't seen I had to leave to pick up my son from school. Which is fine I understand sometimes it may be busy but when I went to the check out the woman didn't take my name and was kinda rude to me. I wont be going back there. Appalachian ortho was who I've taken my son to before and they were 100 times quicker and way more professional and actually helped him. The doctor here basically told me to just go buy a brace from Walmart ...
Everyone was very professional. Very caring and supportive. Treated me with respect. Explained everything to me. I felt like they really cared. Thank you. God bless you all.
