I have always received professional care from the staff and Dr. DeTroye. They are very attentive to my needs and do their very best to make time to see me if at all possible. I ve never had an excessive waiting period, so they really have their scheduling on point. Due to my health condition, I never know exactly when I may need the Drs care. I would highly recommend Watauga Orthopaedics to anyone needing good care.

Awfully promising at first , total flake and lacked proper bed side manner and either lack of knowledge or lazy with his practice, professional opinion s stating I had no change in strength and this fool didn't want to try something different , wanted to continue same thing over, what a doosh Dr wells was completely flaky and awfully lazy, built u up only to leave you in same place you was in
Great experience from the receptionist to the nurse to the X-ray tech to the PA.
I had an initial visit with Michelle, a physical therapist. She was prompt and professional, yet caring and comforting. She gave me detailed follow up instructions for daily exercises, and instructed me to contact them with any questions or concerns.
Update. One week later I have so much more mobility with my left hand. I m positive that the prescribed exercises made the difference. I met with my therapist again. I will start new treatments and exercises midweek. Moving forward!

Prompt, courteous service from start to finish of my Orthopaedic Urgent Care visits to follow up visits. Professional, friendly staff. Clean, tidy offiices. Over the course of a month I have seen Rachel and Brock the PAs. Both worked to figure out my knee issue to come to a resolution. I saw Dr. Parks today after an MRI. Injury bad enough, can treat with conservative treatment. No ordering excessive tests and other expensive testing. Great, professional, very knowledgeable staff and physician.

My daughter had her hand broken by a bad . We took her to Watauga Orthopedics after being put off by the orthopedic office we were referred to by the ER.
They got her in immediately and fixed the damage done. If we had it to do over, we would have taken her to Watauga Orthopedics first. Top notch care.

Went for foot pain , talked to the doctor. They took X-rays . Doctor says nothing broken,nothing I can do. Went to another foot doctor today. Identified the problem immediately. Took X-rays . Now we re working on getting my foot healed . I had a great experience having surgery with Watauga orthopedic. So not really sure why I had to go somewhere else.

Did not have long wait period before seeing Dr Baker. Dr. Baker has a wonderful bedside manner. Listens very carefully to my problem and doing what he can to help my situation. All staff personnel are very warm, courteous, and friendly.
The " bedside manner"' of Dr McQuain was a breath of fresh air. He wasn't in a hurry to rush me through and he actually listened to me. He answered my questions in a way that I could understand. He made me feel comfortable in a bad situation. Thank you so much.
I m very disappointed with Watauga Orthopedics. I have been seen by Dr. Duncan for my neck pain in 2018. At that time Dr. Duncan told me to try medial branch block for pain but only to schedule it when I m hurting. Because that s the only way to tell if the injection is successful. I didn t have any neck pain for some time but recently started hurting again. My wife called the office to schedule the appointment and was given an appointment in July. She tried to request a sooner appointment so we can try the injection. This morning, the office manager called and said Dr. Duncan have refused to see me due to my history and have nothing to offer. He is the one who recommend the injection and now he is the one refusing. I have never had any appointment issues, money issues with this practice. Always kept my appointment and paid on my account. They cancelled my appointment in July without any explanation. Dr. Duncan have treated my wife, my father in law and even me in the past and now for him to refuse treatment for no reason makes me upset. I have referred many patients to Dr. Duncan, as I know many patients who work in the same line of business as I do, and have chronic neck and back pains. This is so unethical to not even follow up on a patient and just cancel their appointment and refuse treatment, that was recommended by the physician himself. Dr. Duncan and the whole practice have disappointed me. If Dr. Duncan can see this, I would like to talk to him personally and ask why he refuse to do the injection. What caused him to not see me anymore without any valid explanation?
Dr . Hurst is great and he has been so good and he has took time to explain to me about the fusion process that he did on September 25, 2019 and how that would work.
I m always very satisfied with the treatment I get from the Drs and nurses.

I am under. Dr McDonalds care for slipped disc. PT was helping but serious pain upon getting out of bed Thursday 5 am. Went to ER who treated me and contacted Watauga. Watauga told me to come right over to walk in. I was seen quickly, given prescription, and appointment was made for MRI on Saturday and to see Dr McD on Wednesday. The staff at Watauga are always fast and efficient. My experience with other medical offices has been long waits to be seen, and making appointments weeks away. I highly recommend Watauga for orthopedic care.
Knee replacement was more painful than I expected but I pushed through.Around 9 or 10 weeks after the operation I was beginning to like my new knee.Im going for the other knee next yr.Dr Stewart and Alvin Murphy are the Best! Keep moving !

I was seen today by Dr. Fowler for a shoulder injury that occured at work. The Dr., and the entire staff, were all incredibly kind, professional and so helpful. The staff assisted in filing my workman's comp claim and worked with my employer on my behalf. I didn't have to do anything. Although Dr. Fowler had to deliver some news about my injury that I did not want to hear, he did so in a very compassionate manner. I really appreciate the way the whole staff works together to ensure care for their patients. In this stressful time, it is a relief to know that I will be treated by the people in this facility. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Got me an appointment quickly, didn t have a mountain of paperwork to fill out and still called me back before I could fill out the one sheet of paperwork which didn t have that many questions on it. Got me in, did my tests and made me feel better about my injury. Everyone was professional!
[ November 10,2020 ] I have another comment to make we went back and her ankle is in fabulous shape for therapy should have started on November 3 but she got the stomach flu and couldn't go but she's on her way to walking great.
My daughter fell on her ankle and broke it all to pieces. They put the pieces together and put in a metal plate she has about 10 screws to hold it in place. She's doing very good she's not having very much pain now. They were very patient with her and the doctors took the time to answer every question she had. I gave a 10 but they deserve at least 100.
Dr. Hurst is awesome. He patiently listens and doesn't believe in one treatment fits all. He can temper brutal honesty with kindness. The JC office stays busy and slow. Check in at desk, then wait. Go to 2nd check in for paperwork, then return to wait Go to exam room with assistant to prep for doctor. Wait. And then if there are xrays, well, couple more waits. There's usually a wait to check out as well. But the people and the doctors make it worth the hassle.

I went in with an ankle injury. I had to use a cane to walk in. The receptionist immediately asked my name and put me on the list to be seen even before I made it to her desk. She got a wheelchair for me and was very accommodating and sympathetic. The nurses, xray tech and doctors were all great. They even had the receptionist wheel me out to my car. I definitely felt like a priority, even though they were very busy. For a very difficult evening, they made it more pleasant then I could have expected.
I went to Watauga Orthopedic in Kingsport for right knee pain. Everyone for the receptionist to Dr. Parks exceeded my greatest expectations. I have severe cartilage loss at only 52 but I am reasured with these guys by my side I am going to be taking my grandson to the park again soon!
