Fascinating to see the statues the memorials and the artwork. The stained-glass windows are amazing the attention to detail is meticulous the Traditions as they have been brought forth from the dark ages are quite unique and very evident here.

Worth the entrance fees as most if not all museums in DC are free. Interesting history, maintenance work from an earthquake is ongoing but not hampering the visitors. Tours are on; check the schedule. Martin Luther King preached there before he was assassinated! Audio guides great but person-tour guides are way better. Breathtaking views of DC

Absolutely stunning gothic architecture in the heart of DC. This is definitely a place to visit if you long for the vibes of Notre Dame in Paris or other cathedrals of fame. Tours can be scheduled in advance online, and they also host a myriad of other fantastic events.

This is my favorite cathedral in the states. It was even more beautiful than Catedral Notre Dame in Paris. The cathedral is large and sits on a hill surrounded by quaint DC neighborhoods. The edifice is peaceful and excellently maintained. This is definitely a must see for anyone taking a first trip to DC who wants to get off the beaten path for a moment. Of course you'd have to be impressed by architecture in some way and this is worth it.

Exquisite Gothic Style, Size, Architecture. Plenty of space for parking and restrooms. Be sure to allow yourself hours to spend, because it's so much to learn and history. Great place for prayers, well worth the money and time in Washington DC.

As a member of the autonomous and independent Anglican communion, Catholicism remains among the Protestant churches. And produced 12 presidents from this denomination.
There are 3 million registered applicants in the United States. It is a denomination that is free and respects you and understands you. Orthodox (orthodox), which may be regarded as Protestant, which maintains a Catholic tradition and is generous in the reformed Catholic (Catholic) church doctrine

One of the best cathedrals in the world. It rivals anything you've seen in Europe, except maybe the Vatican. What it lacks in hundreds of years in history it more than makes up for in its vastness and attention to detail. Definitely worth a visit.

Closed, for. Private party..
I suggest a summer afternoon .
When you can look close up at the
Gargoyles. All around at rain spouts.
So magnificrnt. Inside. No tour. Be quiet. Still. Sit.. wait. Until you've looked 360, right where you are.
I bet no one can take it all in at once

If you want to visit a cathedral on Sundays, there is no entry fee. Make sure to check out the cafe to the right of the cathedral it's a very special place in Washington DC. Order a waffle and a cup of Chino and afterwards enjoy your stroll at the Bishop Gardens behind the cafe. Definitely check out the upstairs overlook that will allow you to see the worst wonderful views of Washington DC. If the elevator is locked just asked a security guard that usually accommodate

Must see! Look at all the gargoyle stone carvings outside. There's one carrying golf clubs!!! Did not know Helen Keller was buried there. Lincoln speech text is a highlight, along with the various alter rooms.

I grew up in DC watching this be built. It is a must visit if you are in town. Make sure to take the tour. Check out the Herb garden gift shop and the regular gift shop (two different ones). Also see the international cross over looking Washington and the gardens.

Some great things to see here. However, their organizational skills and mgmt are the pits. Tickets were handled horribly, confusing situations, and false information given out by docents. NOT cool. Other friends have had similar problems. They need to get their act together. It's a national monument.

Beautiful grounds! I love coming here for a morning run. A hidden gem is the cafe located on site. A great place to relax and have a cup of coffee. For more of my travel I post on ig @travelelsewhere

I visited the Cathedral a few years ago and was duly impressed. Today I write to express a great sadness and disappointment that the leadership in this great house of worship for Catholics and Christians has allowed this House of God to be desecrated by allowing Muslims to pray in community to THEIR god (Allah) not our God. If you do not know the difference you should not be in a position to manage that place of worship. Muslims do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and believe only that Mohammed is higher than Jesus. They believe that Allah is the only god and do not believe in the Trinity. Your having allowed this desecration is a disgusting, mindless blasphemy and sacrilegous act for which you and your ilk will have to answer.

Simply magnificent! It has numerous alters, rooms, and gardens to explore, so plan some time. It's big and one of the most beautiful structures on the planet. Do yourself a favor and plan to visit during one of their choir practices. I went during the one for Christmas Mass and thought I was going to start crying it was so moving.

My spiritual home and just an amazing part of the American story, the Washington National Cathedral is a must-see destination if you are coming to DC. If you just stop by please be sure to ask an usher or I dosen to give you a little information about the building and what makes it so fantastic. And no matter what denomination you come from (or not) or however you worship, the Cathedral is open to you as a place to come and be welcomed. Hope to see you soon.

Absolutely stunning, and the self-guided tour was very interesting. Staff member (young/mid age male) in the store on the lower level was incredibly impatient and rude, however. He certainly did a terrible job of representing the establishment and the faith.
