Waldorf Astoria
Waldorf Astoria
The shocking experience of 2020 - price of 7 stars, service of the corps house.
We arrived at Waldorf Astoria after we wanted to book 2 nights at King David with the extended family we booked at King David. Unfortunately King David was full and in Waldorf Astoria there were still places but at an additional cost of more than 2,000 shekels compared to King David.
When we arrived at the hotel we were told we had to pay for parking (at King David the hotel pays for parking, as well as at other luxury hotels in Jerusalem) that the pool is not open, the bar on the roof terrace is also closed (the employee explained we could buy something in the lobby and take it upstairs). Spending time there with the kids, it was noticeable that the last time it was cleaned was last summer (for three pigeons in every corner, everything is full of dust).
But the lack of services in any other luxury hotel in Jerusalem did not prepare us for the shocking service experience during our stay.
Room service that does not arrive (tip for the disappointed host - if you call at least 4 times for reception and wait in the room for two hours to get what you asked for, at the end it arrives), messy breakfast (waiters do not place orders and as a result, the table is crowded but not at all Dinners with specific dietary requirements at the table) and for dessert, there is no newspaper. In fact, it is inaccurate. When I called the reception to ask if there were any newspapers, I received the answer, "There is Israel today in the lobby below. If you stay, take it. '
The highlight was at check-out - when we arrived at the reception, I asked to speak to the manager. Get on stage the Rami Mukhtab - a man from whom the word service could not be further. Our expectation was simple - to get a refund depending on the fact that most of the services at the hotel do not exist. It does not make sense to pay a full price that is thousands of shekels higher than other luxury hotels in the city where all the services are open and the service is much better. I decided to bring some of the pearls of poetry in my direction -
"There is no situation where you paid 1,000 euros per night, maybe NIS 1,000"
"We do not have a pool, there never was one" (attach a photo of the pool from the website)
"Your luggage is there sir" (I had to load the luggage into the car myself, because why not. I enclose a video with the transport of the luggage).
This is our fourth stay in hotels since the beginning of the summer, nowhere have we paid so much for so little. Very disappointing and we expect to be contacted with us regarding our stay.
