One of my favorite hotels to stay in when I m in Chicago. The price is not outrageous and the hotel is very comfortable. It s what you expect from a Waldorf. I wish they had coffee in the room, but you can go downstairs easily and get a cup.

I booked the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago for me and my husband s wedding night. I wanted it to be special so when I booked the reservation and they asked me the occasion I told them that it was our wedding night and they said they would do something, and also put a note to upgrade me if possible. I would ve been so excited to surprise my husband with an even nicer room than what we booked but I thought at the very least there would be a card or two glasses of champagne in the room. There was nothing. It is my biggest regret and biggest disappointment of anything I did related to the wedding. Why do you even ask if there is a special occasion if you don t acknowledge it? Not that it matters, but I am also a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hiltons monthly at a minimum. The feeling of walking around expecting to see a card or something still stings more than a month later. Hilton will never get a do over for this. I did call a few weeks later and let them know that I was disappointed and they confirmed there were notes on my account specifying the occasion the hotel even had a chance to say congratulations when we check them in our wedding attire but said nothing. The Uber driver did! Anyway. No more Hilton for me and we won t be back to this hotel. Celebrating something special? Take your business somewhere else. Anywhere will give more thought to service than this hotel.

Let me start by saying, the building itself is exceptional and gorgeous.

Thought I'd treat my wife to a night on the town for our anniversary and a stay at Chicago's finest. As a diamond member (stay 70+ nights/yr) we're used to being treated pretty well at most places we stay. That was not the case at the Waldorf.

There was confusion with our reservation at the desk which resulted in us having to rebook a reservation on the spot; that led to us getting charged for two rooms; which in turn led to us being charged for the drinks that SOMEONE else drank from the mini bar in the room that we were supposed to get upgraded to but didn't. The room they gave us was literally just okay. The bed was very comfortable but the appointments in the room were dated. The crown molding was coming off the ceiling, one of the decorative panels in the room was literally hanging off the wall and the tub had a scum line surrounding it. If we hadn't had such a pain in the butt getting into the room in the first place we'd have had us moved but we just shrugged our shoulders and said, we won't stay here again.

I checked my receipt this morning and we were charged for over a hundred dollars in booze that we didn't drink. Neither my wife nor myself have drank in many years.

Needless to say, this ***treat*** ended up being a royal pain in the butt.

If are looking for 5 star hotel where you can enjoy the stay, look somewhere else. Service is better in Motel 8. Room are dirty and service unfriendly. We were accomodared in room with defective fireplace and life hazrad.
Stay away from this property. Not worth you nerves and money. Chicago has much better places to offer

Booked on a reward night stay. Hotel was absolutely beautiful, and staff were polite and accommodating. As a gold member, received a $30 credit for dinning at either of the hotel restaurants which was much appreciated. Was upgraded to a deluxe suite even on a reward night. All in all, amazing experience and would stay at any Waldorf property if I had the chance.

A truly flawless experience. It's been a while since I last stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. What an absolute pleasure. From being greeted by name on arrival (really want to know how they did that!) to my room service arriving at the exact second my phone alarm went off, my experience was literally perfect.
The rooms are beautiful. To be fair, I got an upgrade. Check out the photos and videos. So glad I stayed here. Wish it could have been longer.

The property is new and very comfortable. More importantly the front desk staff made the stay memorable with restaurant suggestions and a shuttle offer. They were extremely friendly and really interested in making sure my stay was as good as possible. I will return...again and again!

I got married here! And stuff got stolen on my wedding night. Let me be very clear. The Hotel never made the situation right. It s been months. They Don t care. No I m not calling any numbers. I was promised items to be replaced. The hotel never replaced the items. I have the emails.
If you write a generic response to my post. I will edit my post & include your emails stating you would replace my stolen things from my wedding night. Shame on your hotel. Shame on the staff who stole from me.

My best friend booked me and my now-husband a room...

My best friend booked me and my now-husband a room here as her wedding present to us over Labor Day weekend. We were incredibly touched by her generosity, and were excited to stay here because of all the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, our stay was not great.

My friend made a point to call the hotel ahead of our arrival and arrange for flowers and champagne to be put in our room to help us celebrate. Although the flowers arrived, the champagne never did.

Additionally, the front staff told us that although the hotel s restaurant and room service were not available, we would still be able to use the room meal credits my friend paid for at their cafe, Petit Margeaux, which they promised would still have the same high quality food available.

We went to the Petit Margeaux, and although our cashier was helpful, what was served to us was about on par with what you d get at a grab-and-go kiosk at an airport. The price was about the same, too ($80 for a salad, a veggie wrap, and a 10oz pre-mixed and pre-package cocktail). Upon returning to our room, we discovered they gave us the wrong salad (we re vegetarian, and the salad they gave us had meat although the salad I ordered was meat free), and the veggie wrap was soggy and incredibly greasy. They did replace the salad after I went down and told them of the mistake, and when I showed them the veggie wrap, they said we had purchased the last one they had in stock. All of these charges, as confirmed by the cashier, were supposed to be covered by the meal credits my friend purchased for us, but they were charged to my credit card, which I gave at check in to cover for any room incidentals.

I understand that amenities are subject to change during COVID-19, but I do not feel that these changes were adequately communicated. Their website was confusing at best, and they definitely under-delivered on the amenities that were still available. Although the room was lovely, we were both very disappointed by all other aspects of our stay especially given the stellar ratings from other guests.

We only stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for two nights before heading to the Radisson Blu for the rest of our honeymoon, where we ve already received incredible service (and amenities and food!) at a fraction of the cost.

The staff were professional, courteous and accommodating! The room was immaculate, although the view was so-so. Room service was my only complaint. Food was not prepared correctly and was much later than they promised.

Had a couples massage. It was incredible. I had Liz who gave a great massage and even provided me with tips and advice on how to continue to work on my knots while at home. Definitely going back to visit her soon. My wife also had great things to say her masseuse.

Excellent experience! Surprised by the small lobby but made up for a gorgeous room and bathroom. We got engaged at this location and were treated excellently by every staff member for both nights who made this a memorable experience. In addition, even if you do not purchase a spa treatment, the experience from just relaxing in the locker room after a workout is also worth it.

Not enough to take off a star, but the sheets were not as comfortable as I would expect for this price-point, but it might differ between the rooms.

We arrived early (12:30). Our check-in room (23rd floor) was not ready, but a 9th floor room was and we decided to take that room. Our luggage was delivered to our room. Everyone we encountered we're so friendly and treated us like royalty. We had a few issues with our room upon arrival (fireplace pilot light was out and lock on terrace door would not turn to unlock) but they were very quickly fixed. Other small issues (constant ticking noise heard in bathroom and tv remote in bedroom wouldn't work until our last night) we did not report or mention. All hotels have issues, no matter how many stars it is. This was an excellent stay and I highly recommend staying.

Lovely rooms, and the housekeeping service (cleaning and turn-down) is fantastic. Great location. Very nice spa/gym/pool facilities.

Negatives are that there's no bar open during the day, the lobby is small and crowded most of the time, there's often a wait for front-desk service, and the elevators often involve long waits and MANY stops once on.

I'm Hilton Gold and didn't really get much consideration for late check-out, despite that being a stated benefit of Gold.

Decent experience overall, but the nearby Four Seasons is head and shoulders above the Waldorf in pretty much every way.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world. This is a great hotel, very chic. This is my 4th night of a 5 night stay. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Rooms are stunning, many with fireplaces and balconies if you enjoy a cigar. The only small downside is the main restaurant Margeaux. It is a Parisian style brasserie-bistrot, beautifully appointed but extremely noisy as there is no closed section for the dining tables from the extremely noisy bar. Even if the food is great I would not eat here for that reason. This is a waste and does not do justice to the talented chef.

To my mind this place is better than the 4 Seasons (which I have stayed in) at half the price (admittedly not cheap). Great location and great hotel for a couple.

Awesome service from parking, to check in desk, to kitchen. Someone came to see if I needed anything within 30 minutes from the time I got to my room, and I did like that I had the same room service person for a significant length of time. I had the gold coast suite and it is gorgeous.

The place is big and my kids enjoy their stay here. The pool is very big and very child-friendly. I love their rooms because it has a sense of private ambiance and very classy. I always recommended this place to my family and friends every time we plan for swimming. A very nice place, friendly staff, and a very unforgettable experience always.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Waldorf Astoria is anything but: I should have stayed at any of the other much nicer hotels committed to luxury and quality; this is no better than a standard corporate hotel now. None of the amenities or service you d expect, food was awful, and not much was done by hotel staff when I brought it up other than a basic form letter. A brazen zombie rate grab; Erodes the entire Hilton brand when not even the big-city flagship hotels can serve up a proper steak.
