I had a very quick stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago so my review is not to extensive. The Pros: The staff. Hands down from the bellmen, to the night manager, to the restaurant they were all fantastic. Super friendly people and really made you feel welcome. I had both room service for dinner and breakfast in their current makeshift restaurant. Both meals were great and again the service was friendly and genuine. The internet was stable and the speed was good. The Cons: In my room (1804) I had no cell phone coverage at all. I am with AT&T. I have no idea what caused this but I have experienced this in other Chicago Hotels as well. It could just be AT&T or the older buildings. The bed was really soft and my back is always messed up from traveling. If you like a soft bed then your stoked. All and all I would stay at this hotel again. I also really need to compliment the hotel management on training their staff and the hiring selections they have made. You seem to have a great team.

We booked this hotel because we wanted to try something luxurious. This room was $460 a night! I've stayed at $100 a night hotels that were nicer. None of the info about Covid was correct on their website. They said the pool, fitness center, and breakfast was not available. That was it. Come to find out, the restaurant and bar was closed. The mini bars weren't available. And the fireplaces were turned off. I actually paid an extra $107 a night for the fireplace and terrace. They advertise this special "touch service" renowned by The Waldorf. There wasn't even bell service OR valet available when we checked in. On top of all that, the room wasn't clean and I cut my finger on a broken glass that was leftover!!! Never again Waldorf! We'll stick to the Hilton Garden and Holiday Inns!

If anybody is trying to find great deals for hotels and resorts go over to . reserved a resort on there and they had the best prices worldwide!

A superior hotel! This was the first time I stayed here, and I am very happy with my decisions. I am deeply impressed by how they handled their many customers politely with no hassles at all. A clean and neat place liked this was deeply admirable. The quality of service they provided was amazing! I couldn't ask for more!

Average-was not impressed for a 5 star hotel. Next time we will definitely go back to the Park Hyatt. The first room we were given smelled terribly like chlorine. They were prompt to change our room but moved us DOWN 5 floors and the new room had a huge stain on carpet in front of bed. Also heard constant water running through pipes entire night. For the price I d expect much more. Fitness center was awesome.

This is an incredibly nice hotel, but there are a few quirks. The light switches are weird, including being able to shut off a room all at once, but they're quirky - our bedroom lights turned on by themselves while we were in bed, then immediately turned out again. We also had staff ignore the Do Not Disturb and come right in while we were there (minibar check), and not get around to cleaning as of 4pm when we had to call for towels (they cleaned while we went to dinner). Gorgeous view though.

Beautiful property in the prestigious Rush Street area of Chicago. The suites are spacious and comfortable. Short walk to all of the fine dining areas. The staff couldn't be more helpful...bottom line if you want a first class hotel in Chicago you can't go wrong with the Waldorf.

What a gorgeous hotel! My boyfriend flew in to perform with Lionel R. and afterwards I rode back to this hotel from the Rav Pav. June 12, 2019. Everything was so sparkly, clean and pristine! It was eat off of the floor clean and the jacuzzi tub was so grand and beautiful. It reminded me of something fit for a King or Queen! Something in the magazines and on television! The bed was huge with bright, white, fluffy bedding. They had a big screen tv but we just listened to some music channel and retired because it was late night. I attempted to take a picture but my phone's storage was too full!

I don't know what has happened with the Waldorf As...

I don't know what has happened with the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago, but this experience was terrible. I booked a nice one bedroom suite for a weekend valentines day staycation for my fiancee and I. We live less than a mile away, but thought it would be a really nice treat to stay here.

We arrived a little before check-in. I knew there was a possibility that we wouldn't be able to check into our room until around 3pm. We were told that the 2nd floor has some complimentary drinks and snacks while we waited. That was a nice touch. But the 2nd floor waiting room filled up with about 20 guests waiting to check in. 2.5 hours after we arrived ~ 5:15pm we were finally able to head up to our room. At this point we were fine, a bit annoyed, but these types of things happen. Right?

The suite is great. The view is nice and so is the terrace. Everything was well maintained and we were super excited. But once I opened the fridge door, an old box covered in cake frosting and filled with old pizza was inside. Alllllright. Maybe just another mishap, these things happen. Right?

The kicker came when we have been watching a movie and the carbon monoxide detector goes off. We called downstairs and they sent someone up to check on it. This person literally couldn't get it to stop beeping - went outside with it to try and make it stop. Finally they put the detector back on the wall and said we were good to go and it was probably due to the fireplace being on. And just like that they left us in the room. How are you gonna have the carbon monoxide detector go off and just have someone come in and reset the thing and just leave the room!? We left the Waldorf Astoria directly after this happened and went home. If the carbon monoxide detector goes off...investigate it...not just put a band aid on it. All the other issues were annoyances, but that could be dangerous.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of staying in one of Chicago s most beautiful hotels. From the scenic views of the courtyard to the unbelievable award winning spa, the Waldorf Astoria truly did not disappoint. The Parisian ambience had given us nostalgia from our time spent living in France and I must say, this hotel changed my perspective of Chicago. The hotel staff was top class, friendly, and always available for your every minute needs. They helped make our dinner reservations and were always pleasant to interact with. I had said on a few different occasions that this hotel had given me a feeling of a home away from home because our room looked like our own little apartment downtown. The room was very cozy and had a pretty view of downtown Chicago. The hotel is located in a wonderful area full of shopping within walking distance and you know I did some damage while my husband was sleeping :). This hotel, from top to bottom, shouts luxury and comfortability. It would be difficult to visit Chicago and stay anywhere else other than the Waldorf.

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is very welcoming. The rooms are nice, the people are incredible (Rebka, May, Dang, Mulad, Nate, Julia, Steven...just to name a few I could go on and on). Everyone here is just warm and kind. I always enjoy my stay.

I can see how this hotel ranks so highly. I absolutely loved my last stay here which was a year ago. I will not be back thanks to the treatment we received this weekend.

Saturday night was my wedding. My wife reserved two suites which due to a conference in town we paid for one of them even though it was empty the first night.

On the day of our wedding my wife requested a late checkout for a second room we had which was for the groom (me) and my groomsmen to get dressed in. She was told by the front desk and then by a manager that they would not accommodate us. Despite her pleases (from a bride, on her wedding day) they continued to refuse.

Then comes the unbelievable part. As I dress in my tux and rush to get out of the room (and find somewhere to kill a few hours in a tux on a warm Chicago day) THEY SEND SOMEBODY TO MY ROOM TO KICK ME OUT OF MY ROOM, ON MY WEDDING DAY. OVER 5 MINUTES. I still can't believe we paid $700 a night for that privilege.

To top it all off, my wife wanted our photographer to get pictures of her leaving the hotel and heading to her wedding. The management stopped our photographer to inform them that we weren't allowed to take pictures because we weren't having our wedding at the hotel.

Our original plan was to stay at the Four Seasons, we should have followed through. The level of service we received from management and front desk staff was completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price range. This absolutely would not have happened at the Four Seasons which is where I would suggest somebody stay if they are looking in this price range. Their staff is trained to find solutions to guest problems, and I promise they would never harass a bride on her wedding day.

My wife and I went with the sole purpose of trying the Vi-spring mattress in the few rooms that have them.We waited approx a year before there remodel was done.We traveled from Michigan to spend 2 notes on a Vi spring mattress with he internet of purchasing one.Our room and service was beautiful as well as the rest of the facility. We had this planned for several months as we needed a firm and medium mattress for us.When we got there we had a Baronet brand with we new.We were in the market for Signatory or Sublime model.During first nite we woke up many times and had a terrible nite sleep. We had worse experience second nite.We took pictures of bed and you can see the bed was put on a Sealy base and the mattress was quite old and not taken care of.We did end up purchasing a Hastings 2000T mattress from Chicago Luxury beds vs a Vispring. In conclusion the Waldorf let us down without having the proper management in place to make sure the mattress are up to speed and Vispring let us down by advertising that the Waldorf was the place to go for the experience. If you want a beautiful place to stay this is it,If you are going here to experience the Vispring, don't waste your time.

It was just ok. We live in Minneapolis and booked a quick 1 night getaway where our whole goal was to enjoy a lovely hotel, great service, and some top notch food and cocktails. I'm Diamond Status and usually looove the service we get with Hilton so we were super excited.

It kind of fell flat, and for a $500+/night room it was a bummer! It was a busy weekend, so we were understanding of that. That said... no early check in, no late checkout, no upgrade, no "going above and beyond" type service that we've received elsewhere.

I'm someone who just appreciates warm service, so when my request for late checkout was turned down, for example, I would have really appreciated a kind apology (I understand its a request that can't always be accommodated) rather than a cool statement that "it will be $200 to check out late."

Side note we could also hear the guests in the room next door having a normal phone conversation (i.e. not being obnoxious or loud).

There are just so many other options in Chicago, there's no need to stay somewhere so pricey if it doesn't feel special. We'll try out another hotel next time!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for one night to see a show. I work for Hilton and I can say this is one of the best hotels in Chicago. We were greeted properly and treated very well. Valet and front desk staff are exceptional. The only hiccup was my girlfriend left her Michael Kors jacket behind. You have to go through an e-mail process to get the item returned. I spoke to two different employees in Security who located the item. Both employees were very friendly, but I kept receiving texts and e-mails saying the item was not located. I eventually just drove back down to pick up the item and received it shortly after I arrived. I decided to stay at The Conrad, another Hilton property overnight. Their service was great also, but nothing beats The Waldorf Astoria. Great staff!

AH-Mazing! I stayed here for three nights while in town for bussiness and I loved it. The customer service was outstanding even with a mostly young staff. They knew were so helpful and never acted like they hated being there. Love that it has the courtyard and it's just a few blocks from Michigian Ave. so the foot traffic is lightier when you leave the hotel. Excellent room serivce and cleaning staff. I have stayed at a lot of nice hotels and this one is on top of my list now. would recommend to anyone coming to chicago!

Considering the name, I expected more. Poor housekeeping and general room maintenance is something that should not be experienced at a luxury property. To make it worse, I was promised the problems would be fixed but they were not. A great disappointment for my wife and I.
