My father has a time share here. Beach is placid and nice. There appear to be beach front private restaurants, did not try them. The bahia restaurant on property is decent for breakfast buffet. The food is not memorable. There are a few more property restaurants, but the office will forget to tell you to make reservations at 6 am. Taxi from here to Tamarindo run by the property cost us $150 for a round trip spanning six hours including two hours of driving and $30 for each hour over. It took two days to get a door key for our room. I had to jump in through my balcony. I think staff are accommodative.

I have little more than 10 years of going with the family, and do you know anything? The place is the same as always (nothing new) and at the beginning very "goat" but the lack of investment is evident with the passing of the years. Damaged streets, residences in the same state and many more things that I'm sure more guests have perceived at the time. This next year will be the last year and we are really glad that this is the case.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is always very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant that serves buffet style meals 3 times per day, is delicious. There is fresh juice at each meal. I can't wait to come back and revisit this beautiful place.

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Costa Rica. Great beach. The hotel is super clean and they have great pools. Food is a bit expensive so is best to eat at El Coco or buy food at the local market.

A hotel with nice rooms and exceptional view, but it needs to improve its Internet service is very bad and improve if menu that is more varied for its guests. Also a wider area of entertainment in terms of pool is treated as it has a lot of competition in the area with its other hotels where you could seek to make a difference. As far as customer service is concerned I do not complain its employees are excellent.

My stay at Villas Sol was wonderful. As a person who doesn't really care for resorts, this hotel helped me adjust to being on my own internationally during my first few days in Costa Rica, and it catered to my preference to being surrounded by nature. The staff were nice and helped me around with me knowing very little spanish. I highly suggest this hotel. La Playa Hermosa (beach) is connected to the resort and during my first day there, i spotted a whale flapping it's tail for a good five minutes, If you're driving from San Jose, the scenery is breathtaking. The food was delicious. My favorite was the omelette with spicy sauce and sweet plantain. Also, try a papaya and orange juice mix. I didn't like my first try with papaya in the Republica Dominica, but this time around was great. My hotel room was beautiful. I really loved the stone wall shower and the balcony scene was amazing. The bed was a little hard, but I slept soundly and I was rarely in my room aside from sleeping at night. The only issue I ran into was driving up to my room. The steep hills almost killed me and it took me a minute to get there.

The place is very nice and what I like most are the swimming pools especially the big one and the food is very good and I like how they left the baths, but I do not know why they changed activities where a ice cream shop does if there is one.

Had a great time at this resort. I looked at it as more of a health and wellness retreat because there were so many hills but that definitely worked formy husband and I. There is not much to do at the resort itself but the beach is walking distance and there are several excursions offered by the resort as well as the surrounding area. Met some great people Who will hopefully remain lifetime friends and travel buddies!

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and gastronomic variety. Offer of services and entertaining entertainment. Constant internal security and transport. I would only add daily cleaning of the villas.

This is a low class resort. The buffet is disappointing, and in a open air restaurant. So there are flys and bugs crawling on all the food. The drinks are sad, and poorly made. This place is pretty high up on the mountain, and has a very steep walk wherever you go. Not handicap friendly, and a challenging walk for me too. The hotel doesn't have an elevator. There isn't much to do around here, except the beach and the pool. A van will take you to Coco, the next town over for $10, but it's disappointing as well. The hotel has souvenir t-shirts for $24 US Dollars, and the Hard Rock wanted $33 for a t-shirt $24 and for a keychain. So it's not the cheep Costa Rica I was told about. We came here on a time share tour, and the hotel charged me $670 for the room anyway. When I said I wouldn't pay, the manager said he would call the police if I made problems. The wi-fi password is "VillaSolFree". The resort offered complimentary transportation from the Liberia Airport, but charge $40 for a return trip. I ended up catching a cab for $35. The exchange rate was $1 USD for ~660 Colognes, but everywhere we have been has accepted USD also.

Good view, very comfortable rooms, hotel and villas near the sea, the all-inclusive operates at certain times, the liquors are not of good brand, the food is more or less good, not much. The attention in reception very good, but the attention of the mentors are always badly faced ...

This place is the worst. First they have one restaurant for the all inclusive..one!! Are you kidding me? The general manager this lady has no personable skills and treats guests like we are second class. The one restaurant's food is barely edible. It's like they recycled the food throughout the day.

To get around the resort you have to shuttle around which after awhile gets really tiresome. You can't really leave very easily as the place is in a super rural area and costs a lot to taxi around. The one good thing is the view that you do see from the hotel is pretty.

I mean the villa they gave us is very small and with two beds when we are only two enganged people that need just one, when requested a single bed, they said they could not accommodate.

Lastly they have no proper business sense here. Their website has false advertising and when told they just shrugged their heads like whoops!! The false advertising is that there is a fitness center and I purposely brought gym clothes to excercise, but find out there is none.

Don't come here I spoke to other guests and they are as well dissapointed and won't come back.

This vacation resulted in a scam. They lied to us about their accomplices, Resort Marketing Systems (RMS) in Mexico that would, allegedly, rent our unit for $1,400 a week, and we would make a profit thereby.
We bought their timeshare ONLY because of this lie, but RMS turned out to be a crooked fake entity that conned ous out of $400 "listing fee" and then disappeared.
Later we learned that Villas Sol (their chief crook Rick Stepp) scammed many buyers in the same exact way.
So far we compiled a list of 20 owners/couples who fell victim to this scam, and we are looking for more for a possible class action.
Two of us have recently filed criminal and civil lawsuits in Costa Rica Public Ministry thru our local Consulates in the US and Canada.
I AM CALLING ON OTHER OWNERS WHO WERE SCAMMED THE SAME WAY TO REPLY AND POST THEIR STORIES OR JUST REPLY AND CONFIRM THE FACT(S), so we can add them to the list.
Please RESPOND AND SPEAK OUT.

Nice place to rest alone that does not include the Internet you have to pay separately. Unfortunately the call center is bad. I HAD TO CALL BECAUSE AFTER 21 DAYS THE RETURN OF THE RETENTION THAT THEY DO HAS NOT BEEN PERFORMED, AND THEY SAY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO RETURN THE CALL FOR SOLUTION AND NOTHING.

Clean villas Large kitchen. Very nice private pool. There is no Wifi. Nice restaurant The attention of staff in general is not the best. I had a couple of inconveniences and they didn't give me a solution or didn't know basic details. He didn't leave a good impression on me.

Visited back in 05/16. Really nice Villas, staff is super friendly, food and fresh fruit juices are the best ever, reason being they are all locally sourced. close to the beach, shops and some close by night clubs. I didn t use any of the tours, just rented a car and drive to all the cool destinations, white sand beaches, arenal volcano, zip lining, rainforest and lots of small local restaurants and shops.

Clean comfortable rooms and grounds but extremely hilly not recommended for less than average walker in good health. It's a work out to get around and temp In the 90s all the time. shuttle bus is usually within 20 minutes from beach. but from rooms to office or reasturant is faster. lots of wild bright colorful birds and eguanas to see in nearby trees. We did see 6 eguanas in one tree near the restaurant and some monkeys near the beach one day.

Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds and view. Food is fine but nothing special. Room is clean and basic. WiFi is a pain as you either sign in for a free hour every time or you have to buy a package. No entertainment in the evenings.

This is not a 5,4,3 star resort, I arrived on 6-9-18, I left to go to the Hilton near the airport on 6-9-18.

I had paid for this vacation in advance went to another hotel. I was so upset at the rudeness., no customer service skills. I guess they thought I m in another country I had to stay there , Nope , I will Not pay for you to be rude to me!!!!!!
A lot of local were here at the resort. They were nicely

The circumstances were, I left my credit card home due to changing purses, but I had already paid inadvance for this trip, its a promotion trip,
called my credit card co. To give approval- they would not take approval from them they wanted a physical card ,( rules changed as they went alone) I guess Incase I wanted to buy a time share.

Also a 300.00 fee( hidden fee) Incase something was broken. My thought was, this whole place is broken.
So they ask me to pay again. They took my debt card 600.00. After riding around and talking with other Americans. I decided I did not want to stay, not well kept. Pictures are old on the internet. I went to front desk to say. I won t be staying.
They said, you can not get your money back. I said ,that s fine.
I would just call my bank to stop payment. I decided that, I would not look good in a Orange jumpsuit in another country.
.( in jail for snatching Natalie in her throat)
So I have paid twice. They saw I was very serious about leaving, then they reverse my second payment. Took a cab for 40.00 stayed at Hilton . Peaceful, great service, clean, no bugs , no crawly things, awesome service!!
Food cook my Specifications.

Stay away from villas sol thru world wide vacation , I will update if I get my funds back. I m also flying home early.

Monies spent:
1400.00 world wide vacation
689.00 air
300.00 what if fee
149. 00 fee
399.00 going home early air
600.00 paid twice was reverse
396.00 Hilton stay

I could have taken my grandkids on a nice vacation, at these prices.

Horrible experience, staff were rude, and not helpful at all. When we arrived at the Villa our condo had been given out to another guest, and it took 3.5 hours to sort out the mess with several arguments with the staff, and to move the other guest.

Clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly, efficient, and delightful. Too many great staff members to list here. Buffet has ranged from average to good. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will go back

The pools are small, not modern, poor organization for daytime activities in the pool, there is no amphitheater, nighttime activities are bad ... poor; management may not be interested in hiring staff for such activities. Beautiful view from the Villa and the restaurant, delicious food!

All very nice. It is only recommended to take care of the maintenance of the villas: leaks in sanitary services, air conditioning, and details such as a mirror, appearance of the kitchen cabinet. Visitors are advised to report this type of detail.

All inclusive with a lot to do and super friendly staff. My wife and I loved this place. We loved three buffet meals a day where you don't have to pull out your wallet. The food was great, the atmosphere perfect, we absolutely loved it!! There are howler monkeys on the beach at sunset. We highly recommend the Buena Vista tour, which includes Zipline, water slide, sugar cane, spa with mud and hot springs, horse back riding and a lot more. This was one of the best vacations we've been on, hope to come back soon!

I have been to many countries and stayed at many hotel/resorts. Villas Sol was the worst experience to date, in over 30 years of traveling. When I arrived with the family only 1 person spoke English. I was asked to fill out much paperwork and rushed through it. A deposit of at least $300 was mandatory in case we bought something at the resort. We were told it would be refunded upon departure. I spent $260 at the restaurant and for towel rental but it was charged to the room bill and not deducted from the deposit, as it was supposed to. After coming home, to the U.S., I saw my credit card bill and the deposit was not refunded. I called the Management at Del Sol and was informed the deposit was non-refundable and it was in the fine print on one of the many papers I was rushed through. The first night at the room, dozens of large bugs, many large spiders were everywhere, including the shower and on the bed. After arguing with the manager another room was given. That room barely had water pressure, the toilet was leaking and AC would not go below 86 degrees. Once again I argued with the manager, who all of a sudden could not speak English very well. The next day a maintenance worker came in to fix the shower and charge the AC, lasted for about 8 hours and once again no AC. This went on for three days until I went to the front desk and got VERY LOUD and aggressive, said some things that usually do not come out of my mouth. Finally after showing my disgust, a new compressor was ordered which arrived the next day. It was a 7 day stay and had a comfortable room for only 2 of those days. We bought food to keep in the kitchen but on day 2 woke to thousand of ants all in the food, had to throw over $100 of food away as ants covered it all. I asked for some compensation for the troubles we had, once again NO SPEAK ENGLISH. After again loosing my cool, they would only have housekeeping wash our laundry prior to departure. We paid for a premium suite and spent much money for total discomfort. I would never allow my dog to stay there for free. The vacation away from Del Sol was great but the resort was the worst experience I have ever had. That is the only reason I gave it 1 star or it would have been no stars. I would not recommend this place to anyone, look elsewhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible food handling. I went with my wife and my 8 month old son. The first day we ate some nachos and the rest of the trip we had diarrhea and my wife vomited what turned out to be an inconvenience since she is breastfeeding with my son. Spend $ 100 buying everything in a super coconut beach to recover. Thank God my son did not eat anything in the place. I do not recommend them. If I could, I'll give them 0 stars.

This place was okay for the price. The shuttle wind up and down to the ocean and all around the resort constantly it was no problem catching a ride. The swim up bar is fun cuz it's so hot there you just want to stay in the pool all day there was food by that pool most of the time if you couldn't get anything else. I would go back there again.
