Very nice place, clean rooms, access to the beach (Playa Hermosa), attentive and friendly staff, internal transport service (thanks in particular to driver Darwin), suitable to go with children and / or seniors, wide variety of rich international food, I recommend it

Inexpensive resort, we stayed in the hotel portion, food was a pass, not great but not bad. Concierge was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was pay for use, two hours free per day if you filled in your name and email each time. Very annoying.

Staff was wonderful, all inclusive had little to no choices of venues although variety and food was good. Water was safe to drink. Rooms were basic but clean. No nightly entertainment as we were accustomed to at resorts. You had to take a short shuttle to the beach. I wouldn't go back there again.

WORST EXPERIENCE LIVED! We were accosted by a young man just got offered us a free weekend if we accepted an appointment to show the facilities. We very much regret having accepted because we were cajoled their partner programs. We are now trying to cancel the payment and it took two months at that. They told we could dispense with the contract but the recovery in the bank has not been canceled. The hotel is nice, lovely view. Food barely acceptable. We recommend this hotel at all !!!

We were with friends in the all-inclusive package and our experience was good but with some negatives .... The hotel rooms are very good ... Very clean and well equipped ... Very close to the parking lot .... The pool and the bar is also close ... Everything very convenient, the view is spectacular and the sunsets are enjoyed, the service of the cars to move around the hotel very good. The downside of this hotel is the high consumption of plastic cups and straws ... The service of the staff bartender and waiters is terrible, rude and not at all cordial .... The options in the food are very limited and in terms of taste is not outstanding.

A very nice place surrounded by nature and with very well equipped villas. The attention is respectful and attentive. The internal transportation system is quite timely. The facilities, in general, are kept clean and in excellent condition. The food is very good, however, it could improve.

We stayed in a villa and it was very nice. The beach is nice and quiet, and the buses are frequent. The pool is small for so many people, there is a single ping pong table and futbolin, and the bar has very few chairs. We did not try the restaurants.

Great location awesome hillside views. The all inclusive was nice, but I feel like the food was ok. Nothing worth more then 3 stars. Only problems were poor WiFi connections, temporary water shortages, gaps in between meal times, and electronic room keys failures

The place is beautiful to spend with the family and with easy access to beautiful beaches around. However, the access especially for those who like to walk to the villas is not very functional. There are no connections (stairs) that facilitate quick access between them. The hours of the all-inclusive service are reduced and especially during these pandemic times, access to the main restaurant is tedious and cumbersome, delaying or delaying access to the restaurant in time (it is estimated 45 min for the meal shift to be completed). As a recommendation is to be on time for lunch.

Check in and check out a bit poor, lack a bit of flexibility, for half an hour they did not let us stay one in our room.

Once inside the deal was above average, the food and cocktails are incredible and the staff too good, much like a Mexican diamond hotel in the deal.

Positive: the rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable, the staff is extremely friendly, very close to the beach, they offer free internal transport to move around the facilities. Breakfast is very rich.
Negative: the lunch and dinner buffet food is somewhat bland and repetitive.

This is a nice hotel except for a couple key things. The rooms are really not air-conditioned. It is overwhelmingly warm in there. We came in a group and everyone in our group Had a hot room. When we complained about it nothing was done. We work through our guide at our guide at Bill Beard's adventures and some of us got a floor fan. also there really is no Internet there. Hard to believe in this day and age.

The pools are real nice and the food is good. And it is a very pretty area. The hot rooms which made it impossible to sleep detracted from the whole experience. Highly recommend going somewhere else.

I have been staying in the villas for four people, they are very neat and spacious, it is a main room and a sofa bed for 2, the 6 people have their own mini pool, which favors to be the cleanest general pool, in the villas above can be seen part of beautiful beach in a wonderful way, offer good tour, the villas are fully equipped, practically nothing to bring, we have gone the light in the morning, and went to breakfast 7 a thousand per person Bufet style, I recommend them since in the coconut or surroundings it is little more comfortable, there are activities during the day.

Great view!

Great view!
Customer service, food, etc is average. I can say I dont see myself coming back, I rather try another option.

This hotel is under the Ironman hotel list but they dont offer any extra service for the athletes, not even the early morning lunch box.

Villa Sol is a small boutique resort with a personable staff and therefore a fun place if you want a intimate experience. The staff makes every effort to accommodate your requests from the service in your accommodations to the all inclusive meal services. The food was very good at the buffet, restaurant and mixed tropical drinks were all tasty as well. The kids loved the two swimming pools and the beach was within walking distance but we took the little open bus that ran every 20 minutes. We encountered lots of wild life on the resort including monkeys.

Villas Sol was very dated and less than welcoming.
Checking in was a hassle, we got there at 2:45 and instead of giving us our all inclusive bracelets they gave us guest bracelets and had us come back in 15 mins... that pettiness was the theme of the hotel.
Rooms were nice but dated. The balcony is EXTREMELY slippery, there is no grit and the daily rain makes a dangerous situation. Shower pressure is abysmal and there is no fan but the shower was clean.
The resort itself is bland. There are two smaller pools, two bars and a swim up bar. The recreation area was never staffed and the towels were mediocre.
The beach close to the resort is not the best. I suggest going down Tamarindo beach (about 1 hour drive from the resort) much nicer sand, shells, and wild life.
The most disappointing part of this hotel was the food, the restaurant would have things that didn t go together every night, such as a nacho topping bar with no nachos/taco shells or pasta with no sauce. Even the watermelon was bad.
The best part of the hotel was the drinks. The unlimited drinks were real fresh made drinks, even fancy frozen drinks.
We booked a snorkeling trip through the hotel for 70 dollars... which was ridiculous for snorkeling and you can get it on the beach for 40... which I suggest. But it was amazing either way. I got to swim beside and touch a leatherback turtle as big as me as well as hold a puffed fish. I also found some tiny hermit crabs on the beach we went too.

Overall I would never stay in villas sol again and it was pretty ridiculous for the price and location but it s an option. If you re the type to just hangout, look at the ocean below and drink it might be better for you...

Let me start by saying I was already prepared for ...

Let me start by saying I was already prepared for the worst after reading the reviews on this place and boy were they right. My husband and I purchased a travel membership through an agency in Daytona Florida called Suite Journeys for $5000.00. They are now facing litigation through the state's Attorney General for being a scam and have had their assets frozen. Apparently Suite Journeys uses HSI to make their money. Part of Suite Journeys' promotion was that we would receive a free stay at an all inclusive resort in Costa Rica. We redeemed the promotion through Suite Journeys and they set up our stay at Villas Sol. Upon our arrival at Villas Sol we were told that we needed to attend another presentation in order to receive the promotional stay. We informed the woman in charge at that time that we had already attended a presentation and purchased a travel membership and that's why we were staying there. She said she had no record of this and that we had to attend the presentation. We assumed it was for a time share and moved forward with our vacation. The presentation was actually for HSI, a scam package almost identical to the one we purchased from Suite Journeys. I'm assuming they operate in Costa Rica for that reason since the contract we signed said the promotion is not valid in states where it is illegal, to include Florida. Our room at Villas Sol was small and very warm. Even with the setting for the AC on 10 degrees Celsius, the room was unbearably hot and humid making it difficult to shower, get dressed and sleep. Our towels never dried. The bed was old and simply a mattress on a platform frame. The bedding was stained and the pillows were quite flat. The remote for the tv never worked. The resort itself is old and run down. The food was often recycled from previous meals and nothing to write home about. We opted to eat elsewhere on more than one occasion. Birds, feral cats and bugs joined us often for our meals at the buffet. We booked a trip through the resort to Guacipaline and found out later that the same package costs much less at the travel stand down the road. At the presentation we were required to attend, we realized very quickly that what they were offering was something almost identical to what we already had with Suite Journeys, not a time share. In an effort to be forthcoming, I told the woman trying to sell us the package that we already had something similar with a different agency. She immediately asked for the name of the agency and got her supervisor. His name was Matt and after speaking with him we were told that we did not need to move forward with the presentation. We asked three separate times if we would then incur any costs and he insisted we would not. He lied.
Upon check out we were told we owed Villas Sol an additional $600.00 because we were never "eligible buyers" of their scam. Not only were we completely eligible, the documentation my husband signed said NOTHING about not being allowed to already be members of another travel service to qualify. They tried to use the signed documentation against us but anyone who can read can see that we agreed to no such terms. Apparently their inability to communicate effectively with our travel agency and vice versa meant we were expected to pay the price. My husband was forced to pay with a credit card or we would miss our flight. They insured we could not leave without a specific leave receipt for our driver. So if you make arrangements for a ride to the airport with Villas Sol, the driver will not take you without that receipt. Very slimy, but very smart. In the shuttle on the way to the airport I cried thinking about all the money we wasted at the expense of the people at Villas Sol. My husband is a US veteran and we have been married for only a year. We're a new family just starting out and we really could have used that $600.00. I am so disappointed in myself for not knowing better and I hope anyone who reads this learns from my awful experience.

This place was by far the worst all inclusive resort we have ever been too. When we checked in, they tried to get us to go to a class to try and get us to buy into their horrible place. Our room smelled horrible like fresh paint when we arrived. The ice bucket was filthy and had food floating in about 3 inches of water and the lid had black mold on it. When it started raining, we noticed the ceiling was leaking all over one of the beds. Within 2-3 hours it leaked enough to fill 2 coffee cups. We attempted to tell the staff and they brushed us off saying there s nothing they can do. The food all tasted the same. The quality of food they serve is below what should be a standard when your paying that much to stay at a place. Also the alcohol was bottom shelf and made both my
Husband and I s stomach hurt and gave us diarrhea. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!! By far worst hotel/resort experience we ve ever had.

If I could give this resort a negative I would. The worst resort I have ever stayed at. All inclusive comes with nothing in your room/condo, food at the ONE buffet restaurant is horrible and all drinks are bottom shelf alcohol. No costomer service. Very under staffed, the shuttles to drive you up and down the cliff side the hotel is located on do not run regularly or afyer 8 pm. Do not book with this resort, not worth your money or effort.

A place of rest, just do not pay all inclusive if the hotel is full because they have a limited food budget to a certain number of people and when the food is over they do not serve anymore

The room has bugs. The television didn't work for half the time. The staff was nice. If you need a taxi to the airport please understand that it will have to come from 20 minutes away so call them in advance before you go down to checkout. It was $50 to get here from the airport and $40 to go back. The food was "free" but it wasn't memorable. I'd suggest if you would like to visit Liberia, just book a stay at the Riu. The experience was well worth the extra dollars. Also, the staff at VS was okay but they just don't seem too informed on their operation. There's no ATM on the grounds and the lady at the desk told us the area one was a 4 minute walk down the street. The walk ended up being 45 minutes roundtrip. It's really a 2 star hotel with a 5 star view. Be humble.
