An admirable courage by Frank Gehry for that time ...

An admirable courage by Frank Gehry for that time and in his situation. Marketing has also set trends and can be very interesting for other museums. With a nearby motorway connection, bus stop in front of the door and acceptable accessibility on foot from the Weil am Rhein train station, it is worth a visit. However, bargain hunters will not be happy here, which is certainly not the target group.

One of my favorite museums for design ever. They have the whole Vitra furniture in the main building, while also showcasing several temporary exhibitions in other buildings. We came here for many exhibits and the overwhelming majority was inspiring and worth the visit. Also firehouse by Zaha Hadid is located here. They have a good Cafe and a bistro.

I generally think that Vitra should not degrade its wonderful products too quickly to museum exhibits. For example, I am a huge fan of the HeadLine office chair. The most relaxed way for me to work - in my HeadLine. How you can simply take such a top product from the range without need 2020 is not only beyond my understanding. Many architects who are friends - even my local Vitra dealer here - want the HeadLine to be included in the range again.

The museum is connected to the production facility of the designer furniture manufacturer Vitra. Inspirational for everyone interested in beautiful things. The focus is on furniture and other design objects and modern architecture.
Some buildings by world famous architects can be seen. A factory tour is recommended.

Great two-hour tour of the Vitra Campus with a great guide who perfectly managed to take both our seven-year-old boys and us with us. Architecture and design are something very special here anyway.

Current exhibition is home stories . It presents 20 different and interesting homes. Though to me, it is not so clear why the curator chosen these 20, which he believed they can represent the past 100 years? Vitra Design Museum to me is a rather small museum, it contains 4 little halls. The staffs are friendly. They offer fun programs for kids. We (family) were very happy to be there. The museum shop is mainly selling books, we didn t find many souvenirs to buy.

A good experience to appreciate world of design. Even though the images of this building have been posted thousands times, some identifying pieces are truly great, besides, exploring the exhibits of modern architects is a good idea to know how are the creations had been developed.

Product students must go!! Very inspiring. We got there at 10am. We went into schaudepot to buy ticket for both schaudepot and Vitra design museum for 15 for students. We spend 2.5 hours there and went to the cafe right next to it to get some snack. Then we walk to the Vitra museum which is a little bit far so take ur stuff with u because they have lockers in both locations. After we visit the museum we went to its Vitra home where u can see all their designs in real display like Ikea. Then we left around 5pm. So basically it took us a whole day there and we enjoyed it.
