E-v-e-r-ybody loves this place...including me. The history of it, the people there, oh yeah - the ice cream, the sandwiches, the sundaes, the barstools, and the memories
The best ice cream in Sacramento. Try there mocha chip.
Went there yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it full of local people. Coffee was absolutely delicious and so we're all the other things that I ate which was a lot :-).
Kind of small but that provides a nice atmosphere to since everybody seems to know each other.
In Sacramento 3 days already and I have found my new hangout.
Wonder if Vic wants to sell shares in the business :-) I'll be the first one to buy some.
This only pertains to the coffee shop but I have no doubt that the ice cream shop is just as good or better.
One of my favorite ice cream shops. Sad that Burr's is closed, but very glad Vic's is still open! Love this place and the ice cream is the best! Mocha chip sundae rocks!
Grew up in the area. I go anytime I'm in the area now that I've moved away. A must go. Amazing ice cream.
This was our first time here and ir was GREAT! The staff is super nice and helpful. I had a kiddie cone and it was a big serving. My bf had a chocolate milkshake and he said it was really good. We really appreciated the service we received at Vic's.
Yummy ice cream and Temple coffee. Try the affogato if you like espresso with your ice cream.
Seemed a little racist because all i saw was white workers but the ice cream is amazing
It is always like visiting family when I come here!
Ice cream shop with greasy spoon attached. Due to location and age, everyone seems to know this place.
Definitely old school and on site made fresh. Comparable with Breeze over in East Sac.
Love the chocolate mousse / chocolate chip. Travel from one side of town to the other just to get the chocolate moose awesome
Horrible service. We waited at for 20 min. Didn't even get water. They were taking orders from people that came in after us. The guys were at the counter flirting with the girls and not doing their job. We walked out.
Ice cream always food. Had my hot fudge sundae. Not disappointed.
Rude and Cold Owner. Place was dirty on my visit. Ice just average.
Great local spot. Old timey. One side is an ice cream shop, the other side is a cafe which serves sandwiches and salads, pastries and coffees. Very charming place in a nice neighborhood.
Ice cream is the best in Town, but they need hotdog buns rather than using sliced bread...
Great icecream flavors and Sunday toppings, good portions also.
They have great service and good food. They also have pretty good shakes with a lot of different flavors.
I had a strawberry milkshake. It was a little runny but still tastes good. Their service is great
Definitely worth a return trip. The bill was decent. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.
Have a big scoop of goodness! Friendly staff and great ice cream. Table service inside or get in line and get it to go. Tables and seats outside shaded by a big tree.
Best ice cream ever. (Raspberry ice cream milkshakes are the GOAT!) BLTs are nice too.
I remember my sister and I going here since we were little kids lol
Was over charged for a sandwich, soup and a float. Paid over $20 for my togo order? Customer service was terrible before I realized I was over charged. When I called to speak to a manager, their customer service was indifferent and there was no apology. I will not be returning and will be telling my friends.
The ice cream here was soooo good. I can't wait to go back. 50s style ice cream diner with booth and table seating as well as counter seating. I wish I got my sundae in a glass dish but got it in a paper cup. Next time I'll have to remember to ask. In house made whip cream. The girl who helped me was great. She suggested some good flavors of ice cream and it was amazing.
Neighborhood ice cream! They make thier own, makes you feel good buying local. Ice cream is great, why not make it a lunch. Food is not cuisine, good diner type food. Great for families.
One of the best old fashion ice cream place!!! Delicious
I had a small Chocolate chip cookie dough with hot fudge & whipped creme sundae! It was so good! I couldn't resist licking the overflow fudge from the outside of my bowl! Mmm yum! Embarrassed my friend! Nobody saw or cared! 4 & 1/2 stars !
Classic Land Park establishment. I've been coming here for ice cream since the 80s. Highly recommend their peanut butter cup. Don't forget to check out pre-packed containers in the freezer that is behind you as you face the counter!
The icecream tasted just like it did when I was a kid back in 1968
Awesome sunday trip for dessert with the kiddos. Great customer service which is why I have keep coming back.
All of the food is delicious, especially the icecream!
Today was my first time at Vic's. The shop itself looks like an older style (think going to ice cream with Grandpa in 1980) and has a warm feeling to it. There are many choices of foods, drinks and of course, ice cream. The staff were welcoming and professional. I went with the thick strawberry shake and it was amazing (it reminded me of a strawberry shake that I tasted at - if I remember correctly - Leatherbys. It was amazing and I think the price was fair (about 1.50 for a small cup). All in all, I enjoyed the shake!
Brought in some gold and silver and was given a more than fair price. He was very friendly and was able to answer all of my questions. Im definitley coming here for all of my pawn needs.
Great ice cream. They have chocolate peanut butter swirled ice cream under the guise of peanut butter cup. It's phenomenal
Their hours vary depending on the time of year. Best to call and check they may be open as late as 10pm during the summer.
Service was quick however all the employees seemed as if it was the end of the world. Kinda depressing.
Amazing service and world class ice cream. Great selection as well.
Vics holds a special place in my heart. Plus the ice cream is the best in town.
My favorite ice cream place in Sacramento, my family has been going for a couple decades by now. Strawberry is my favorite, but can't go wrong with pretty much any flavor here.
Great ice cream spot -- try the chocolate chip cookie dough!
OMG REALLY
ITS AWESOME ICE CREAM!!!
I was wondering when I came to Sacto "Is Vics still open ?" The answer is yes. I remember Vic's 25th Anniversary. I was going to McClatchy at the time. We would always go to Vic's after school. Then go to William Land Park sometimes. I live in San Francisco now. No Vic's there . Vic's is better than Gunther's by far. Better quality.
Decent ice cream place since the 1940's, but nothing too exceptional. They have standard flavors with some niche ones, like Mocha and "Fresh Strawberry". I was irritated that I ordered a rocky road but barely received any marshmallows and nuts, so that was unfortunate. But the associate helping me was friendly and patient, making up for the missing flavor. The portions they give are fairly large, so you get your money's worth. The atmosphere is classic and roomy, and they have options for meals if you're interested.
As an ice cream place, I'm going to quote my significant other (who was enamored by the cookies and creme): "It's good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back".
The best ice cream shop in Sacramento. They have grilled sandwiches and lots of options on the menu
Love Vic's. Staff is always great, the ice cream is awesome, and I can sneak next door and bring back a glass of wine while the Mrs. enjoys her double scoop!
Been going there for 50 years. Really like the cafe part also now that it is there too. Good coffee and staff.
Deliciousness, great customer service and atmosphere
Old style ice cream parlor! Excellent selection, wonderful service
Good ice cream, neat atmosphere. Expect lines though.
So far we only tried Cookie & cream and cherry. Both of them are so good. Not too sweet.
Love that this place has been around since 1947. Local and historic. Had a really tasty ham & cheese sandwich and some excellent ice cream too. Cool to sit at the counter too.
Wonderful small batch Ice cream in a old school diner feel.
Well worth the price and wait. Normally a line.
Would recommend to anyone that like Ice Cream.
The best mocha chip around we've been going there for lots of years always wonderful
Got sick once
Yes
Yes I did
Been coming here for 20 years. Friendly home town ice cream parlor. Always busy, but service is pretty good. My favorite is toasted almond.
Its always just like home cause I grew up at Vic's just living a few blocks away. Its always just what I need.
I've been going to Vic's since the mid '70s. Always great. Best chocolate chip ice cream ever.
