Great local ice cream place, nice atmosphere and great location made ice cream.
Great local ice cream place, nice atmosphere and great location made ice cream.
Great locally owned old school ice cream parlor. They make their own excellent ice cream.
not impressed. went there with my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend. they said if we want to eat there we can sit and they will serve us. so we sat at a booth. we ordered 2 banana splits and a coffee. our waiter told us its probably better to get coffee next door. we also ordered a soda that we never got. and i asked for the whip cream and nuts on the side which i had to ask for again, then he only brought the nuts. i looked over and our waiter was just standing there on his phone. the banana in the split was rotten and gross. the vanilla ice cream did not taste like ice cream it had a weird texture, not sure why. not going there again.
Shakes are too expensive and they mix them right in the waxed paper cups that they are served in. Anything scraped off is your bonus fiber for the day.
Great little Ice cream shop! All made on the premises! Good food to! And they have a quaint little cafe next door if you want a latte or a cup of Joe!
Old-time ice cream parlor with delicious ice cream and great service! 70 years in business.
If you love ice cream and old school diners, this is the place to go!
Ice cream is always great.
Went in on a busy night. Few people were sitting at the counter. People were lined up. So my friend & I sat at the counter. We waited...no acknowledgement of our presence. Finally, I asked if they were taking orders from the counter. "Oh, yes." Was the response. It was like we were invisible!
Great atmosphere, old-style diner, excellent ice cream! Will go again!
Great place for Ice cream! They have good food too!
Another favorite ice cream spots. Lightly toasted egg salad sandwich is outstanding and again one of my favorite thing's to eat.
Delicious ice cream, made fresh. They sever decent food too. The cherry amaretto ice cream is the best.
This place is a gold mine. Must visit Sacramento Icon.
A home-grown Sacramento landmark selling hand-made ice cream. Really delectable and I love to support local businesses but lately the teenagers working there give off a blah uncaring attitude that is a turn-off.
Old school creamery with excellent service. Top notch and a *must* if you come to Sac.
Vic's is a quaint ice cream shop out of another age, and for that it's an enjoyable experience. The ice cream itself is okay.
Dropped in on Tues. The service was very helpful and welcoming. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed
They have the best cookies and cream ice cream I know of.
Great ice cream at good prices. Excellent service and atmosphere. One of the best ice cream joints in Sac
Assome!!! I have not had a homemade strawberry milkshake in years.I will be back with family and friends.
Great ice cream, coffees, sandwiches, and even a good selection of beers!
Love Vic's Ice-Cream. Good spot for a meal with the kids. Ice Cream is Delicious
If you like ice cream and good old fashioned service you will have to experience Vic's ice cream. Even the sandwiches are delicious and come with chips or other condiments if you like. Located towards the southside of town parking can be challenging during peak hours mostly due to their popularity. This place has been in business for many years and has ice cream to go if you want to bring a container home with you. The old fashioned chocolate sodas are reminiscent of time ago and you will undoubtedly want to make this a place on your go to list of favorite restaurants in Sacramento.
I have been going to Vic's since 1955 and never been disappointed. This is the old fashion local ice cream fountain with all the great shakes, parfaits, and sandwiches, service is always excellent and their is a great sandwich shop next door.
Always a great year for the grandkids and grandparents alike.
Nice local ice cream shop where service is outstanding and the ice cream is phenomenal
Yummy place but crowded. Interesting flavors. It's a small spot inside.
Good basic sandwiches and their ice cream is the best! I grew up coming here and it's as much fun now as it was then. Always a great and satisfying experience!!
Been going here for over 15 years and it's always been great!
Friendly staff and sweets treats, definitely worth a visit.
It's a classic, and a Sacramento must-see, especially if it's a hot day and you can't really live with the idea of standing in line at Gunther's. Fewer selections and space than Gunther's means it's a more intimate experience. Great service.
Amazing hand crafted ice cream. The cherry amaretto and fudge ribbon were amazing.
Small place but great ice cream and usually great service. Popular Land Park hangout for Crocker Riverside Parents and Kids.
Ice cream was nothing to write home about but the ridiculous prices are something to shout from the rooftops #EXPENSIVE
Best local ice cream joint, which has now been around for 71 years. We and our grandsons loved it.
Pretty good food and ice cream lots of options but they forgot my friends order twice
Vic's is the coolest ice cream & sandwich shop around! I've been a customer since I was a kid (more than 50 years ago) and it's still as popular as ever. I highly recommend the All-around Chocolate Soda!!
Good food, kind and friendly staff ,nostalgic environment.a really good little shop that's pretty affordable.
Clean and cute. Easy to read menus with good pricing. You get more than you pay for, they also serve Temple coffee for less than Temple themselves serve it. Friendly service and customers. I plan on returning for the ice cream, good place for coffee stops with plenty of seating room.
Casual older soda ice cream sandwich place same as it was in the 40's. Home made ice cream and HUGE shakes if you eat inside. A bit expensive maybe but it is located in a wealthy area and it is all good tasty foods and treats. Street parking can be easy or just impossible depending on how busy they are. Well worth the effort to have a treat here.
Very good food and banana splits and the best home made ice cream in town and the sandwiches and the best also.
Pick any two of your favorite ice creams, It's great!
Another hidden treasure in Sacramento. The ice cream is spectacular here! Not the cheapest but, you definitely get back in value what you sacrifice in pocket change.
Wonderful service and atmosphere. The food is always "just right".
Really good place to have a sandwich and ice cream.
Limited seating, but everything else makes up for that. Great homemade style ice creams, shakes, floats, sandwiches, and more.
My Wife & I Say It's Mediocre Ice Cream. Parking Is Difficult As Well. Look Elsewhere For Better Quality (freshly made) Ice Cream Parlors !!
I've lived in Land Park for about 7 years and have gone to Vics many times for work. When comparing Vic's to Gunthers in Curtis Park, Gunther's wins by *far*. Vic's needs to step it up. They are staffed by very young, unfriendly servers. The blonde man who works there during the day never smiles. He makes me uncomfortable. I cannot say anything good about this place except the quality of the ice cream. The place is not the cleanest. Come on Vic's, you can do better.
The rocky road and cookies and cream was incredible. One scoop is a LARGE scoop. Great customer service and old school ambience.
Used to walk from McClatchy H.S. to Vics for lunch back in the 60`s.
Fun spot.
A warm Sunday afternoon, so of course there was a line. No pain, no gain.
we come to riverside every 6 - 8 months and visits to Vic's are a highlight of our vacation. great ice cream, friendly service. 5 *
Vic s Ice Cream is a Land Park icon. Been here since the 30 s. They have the best cookies and cream ice cream I know of. I ve heard Gunther s is good too but never tried it. I also love Vic s Cafe that s now connected to it and just next door. They have great pastries from a local bakery brought in every day.
If you re in the area you definitely need to try out Vic s!!! Locally owned and operated!
great place to chill, get away, eat some good food. i will be back with my relatives. it has an awesome atmosphere.
Delicious! Old school shop next to a coffee place.
Vics makes incredible ice cream in a cute Hometown feel. Tucked in an urban environment in yuppie land park is a great ice cream shop.Their raspberry ribbon ice cream is delicious and their hotdog sandwichs is divine.
Vic's is an institution - a Sacramento landmark going back, well, a heckuva long way. They create great seasonal flavors, so the menu changes about four times a year. It's an old fashioned soda fountain counter, with great arty bike racks and a mini bleacher outside for people-watching. One of two old-fashioned ice cream parlors that really help define Sacramento summer nights.
Wonderful neighborhood place for ice cream and simple sandwiches. Can't be beat!
It's really sad how far downhill this place has gone. Where is the turkey on that gxosd! Too much money for how little you get.
I forgot how good this ice cream was I might have to make a second trip this week the service was fantastic and their lunch is great
Vic's is a classic and iconic ice cream parlor in Sacramento, and a must have for grab and go. You may see a bit of a line form outside, but mostly it's because the inside is quite small, so fear not the wait is not bad at all. Have not had a bad flavor, so try a ton!
This is a classic, old school, ice cream shop. The friendly young people working there, serve up generous scoops of delicious ice cream, while you watch. And, if you can find a table, you can order other various items from their food menu. (I was just there for the first time, myself.) When you get there, you will have to find someplace to park on the street. They do not have a parking lot.
Hmm, ice cream NOT from one of the big names has to ALWAYS be better than the big names! Enjoy!
Old school ice cream with very large portion servings. Unless you have a large stomach request Junior serving size.
$6 for the smallest sundae in the world...Rip off, felt disrespected..me being of color in the land park area the server didnt ask me if i was eating in or not... Jus a tiny dixie cup sundae and out the door...!!!!#neveragain##
