Amazing museum suitable for families with lots of activities for children. Spent 3 hours and could have spent whole day. Loved trains, cars, cable cars and boats.
A super educational place, ideal for children and also suitable for adults, it is worth visiting.
Good, very exciting for traffic enthusiasts! Only you should ventilate more often inside!
A must for those who want to know more about transport of any kind
Very big museum. Sometimes the descriptions and explanations of things were a little sparse and lacking. But it is a very big museum, and covers cars, trains, air travel, and boats. If you like museums or transport vehicles, go for it.
This place is truly amazing. I have been here twice now and still have not seen everything.
Baam as always. Great destination with children.
The price is just like everywhere else in Switzerland. There is a lot for the money here. Top!
Superb place !!!!! Very interactive, good explanations and the gear (planes, trains, boats etc ...) are well chosen.
Nothing to say about the performance of this museum that looks like an amusement park.
Sorry, but 15.00 o'clock still to demand the full entry and close already 17.00 o'clock with highlights such as flight simulator already 16.00 o'clock stop the operation, I find a joke. One could at least be informed when buying tickets. Anyone who has ever been there knows exactly that 2 hours is not enough for a proper museum visit. Why do you have to change the opening hours in winter?
Interesting exhibitions about traffic and technology.
Excellent for all ages. Easy to spend hours in there.
Very comprehensive museum with lots of interactive exhibits. Good for all ages with information on history for adults and many hands on activities for kids. They even have a miniature operational boat navigation lock.
Great place, at each visit there is something new. Cars, ships, airplanes, space flight topics with hands on experience - have you ever been at the flight controls of an helicopter or fighter jet simulator?
Also many things for kids (~5 and up).
Its interactivity makes it very attractive. Nice museum, it's one of best in Switzerland!
The museum is very exciting. However, there are few opportunities for small children. The practice is missing, a lot has been written theoretically, but the experience is not there in my eyes.
There are surprisingly many things to see. Recommended if you have elementary school children
It takes about 4 to 5 hours to come out, have a snack and rest at the lakeside, and take a walk to downtown Lucerne.
Great transport museum. Unfortunately, the prices are not affordable
What do you want to say, the Museum of Transport. A "must" for every Swiss. Unfortunately the museum has been "digitized". Many of the old exhibitions no longer exist. Admission is clearly too expensive. A special mention goes to the self-service restaurant: greasy "ready-made" food like in a lido. Completely overpriced and often dingy. Bring some sandwiches and bottled water from home. The Piccard restaurant, on the other hand, is fine.
Huge and versatile exhibition, which becomes an interactive experience for young and old.
Also interesting for returning guests, because the exhibition is constantly being supplemented and changed. There is something for all ages.
Excellent for kids - there's much they can do here. If they get bored of looking at space, planes, trains or cars they can use the diggers or Bobby cars
The museum really offers everything about traffic. We liked it very much. Anyone planning a holiday in Switzerland and close to Lucerne should take a look at this museum. Due to the size you have to plan almost a day for it! The automobile exhibition is especially beautiful in memory! Here, the vehicles are stored automatically and again and again alternately lifted out and presented on a platform with audio description! Alone, I could have sat there for two hours! Also interesting is the train hall! You can go in many vehicles! For modellers highly recommended!
Always something new to discover ... interesting for children of all ages ... annual pass is worth it ... however entrance to the planetarium has to be paid extra also with annual pass
We will be back !! Magnificent in all things !! Thank you
A brill day out : but you need 3 days to do it.. well worth it
I always like to come back! The new media world is very interesting and the flight simulator is also awesome
Simply great! Great museum. It's wonderful that we have something like this in Lucerne.
It would actually be very nice and nice if there wasn't an impolite employee at the flight simulator. Because of his disrespectful behavior, I would say that his son was very disappointed and sad. Since only 1 star.
Just great, but you can renew some things (e.g. train simulator)
The Verkehrshaus is worth a visit. For the adults there are interesting facts and exhibitions and for the children there are fun games to the exhibitions. I think it's all so well done that you can spend a whole day there. There are restaurants there but you can also take something with you and picnic there. I'll definitely go again.
Recommended, especially for children an absolute highlight. The day pass in combination with planetarium, IMAX and Chocolate Adventure is also worthwhile.
The ideas workshop is also a highlight for school classes
Don't waste your money and time here. It's an overrated and oversold museum. Only things reasonably good about it is the Film theatre and Planetorium. Which if you have to buy tickets alone for are overpriced and are at a discount if you buy museum tickets. Half the flight and train simulators don't work and the ones that work are way too basic. Even a Xbox video game has better graphics and effects. In the guise of a museum its a glorified play area for kids and they charge a fortune for it. Do something better instead.
Great day out, over and over again. Educational, engaging, interesting, stuff for adults and kids. Brilliant.
Then. It's spectacular. Point.
The best museum I have ever visited. Organized well for both adults and children, beautiful exhibitions, interactive tools .... Wonderful.
Average visit approximately 2 and a half hours.
Inside there are restaurants and self service.
Buy tickets online or get ready for a crazy queue ...
Recommendable! Family costs 65 Sfr./ca. 70. Large outdoor area. A restaurant. It's very popular :)
The museum is very informative. The only point of criticism is the high price.
Great, varied, interesting museum.
But why does the shop close at the same time as the museum?
All visitors who leave the museum when it closes and would like to buy something in the shop at the exit are - more or less - looked at the shop as "disturbing" customers who hinder the employees from putting them together.
It is a good place for kids to go. It's good to walk in front of the lake. There is a swan .. There is a lindt chocolate store on the first floor of the museum, and it is cheap. I bought a bear's gold leaf chocolate for around 4,000 won.
Was in the Verkehrshaus again after many years. Back then, of course, always enthusiastic as a child, now it's too much show and too little background information for me.
A beautiful museum, useful for youngsters, preferably at the beginning of the day. It opens at 1000
Planitorium, museum for kids nice place to visit. There is a lake can walk
Great place for all ages. The whole family can go for a full day with everyone having a great time.
One of the essential of Switzerland.
This museum is legendary and you always have good times with your family.
The explanations are very clear and carefully translated so as not to neglect one or the other national language.
There are many exciting interactive things to discover and the kids have a lot of fun, which is not necessarily the case at the museum.
I highly recommend.
Always just the food too expensive for a large family
Very beautiful museums to visit with the whole family regardless of age there is something for everyone. Plan a full day for the visit.
A lot of offers, where it is best to plan the whole day - in 4 hours we didn't manage everything. The flight simulator is cool - but don't take the helicopter, it doesn't move, graphics are definitely 20 years old and don't cover the entire screen - the jet, on the other hand, is great
+ very interesting and varied
+ You can spend a day here
+ child-friendly, it has something for almost every age
- Entry is expensive, especially for families
- Certain exhibits look old and worn
Great place to visit, lots of mechanical historic stories to look, fab place
My kids loved it. We went there for a birthday party and it was a blast for the kids. There's so much to see and do. They have airplanes and trains, real size! Worthwhile the visit. On rainy days can become quite crowded! Use public transportation to visit the transportation museum if possible... Get it?! :)
Exciting and very entertaining with lots of experiments
We have an annual pass and are surprised with something new almost every visit.
Awesome place with too much to do for one day, and yes there is lots of chocolate!
Great place, well organized. Fantastic for families
