A large playground for fun and experience!
Can stay well all day long without getting tired!
If you like the railway you have to hurry. Hangar will be rebuilt in autumn.
Fantastique not only for children for adultes as well
Love this place, a lot of interesting information, the museum is divided into different sections: railway and maritime transport, aviation section, another section is designated for cars and motorbikes. In each section there's a simulator of a vehicle that you can drive. There's also a Planetarium and chocolate adventure, which explains you how chocolate is made, after excursion you get some delicious candies. Strongly recommend this museum
Very good planetarium with various entertaining programs for the night sky and the solar system. Also interesting and varied exhibitions around technology.
The visit was very interesting. Unfortunately we were there a little later and had to be a bit short. But the Verkehrshaus is worth seeing and you should plan a little more time.
Very nice and varied. Lots of outdoor activities for children.
Interesting for sure. A lot of stuff for kids to do! I found exhibits set up a little confusing and it was sometime hard to follow a chain of events. But maybe that's just because I'm Canadian and this was Switzerland
Although I have gone several times there is always something new and it is always very interesting
Great for kids; we had a great day in Lucerne. However, despite various discount passes such as Raiffeisenbank, Coop FamilyCard and tcs it still cost a nice chunk for a family with more than 2 children.
There are fewer and fewer exhibits to look at
If I want to play with something, I would rather go to an amusement park
Total rip off with entry, chocoland, planetarium and IMAX
A family cannot afford that
It is more expensive than skiing
It is very crowded especially by children who are the ones who enjoy the most
Very interesting, engaging games suitable for family members of different ages
Very interesting and excitingly presented museum. Some hands-on activities like helicopter or airplane simulator flying.
More than just recommended, just a must. Everyone should have visited this incredibly diverse collection of traffic worlds once in their life. Not only children's eyes shine. Everything remotely related to traffic or travel has been historically processed here and can be captured with fantastic exhibits.
With the new pricing model, families pay massively more
Formerly with family ticket Fr. 65.-
Today 2 adults 2 children Fr. 88.- (+ Fr.23)
or
Today 2 adults 3 children Fr. 100.- (+ 35.-)
This Sunday outing is now unaffordable!
With falling visitor numbers and sales, you can go back to the federal government to beg.
If you travel from Lucerne's main station, you can travel to this museum by either train or bus. I caught bus line 6 and arrived to this destination in less than 10 minutes. The entrance fee varies depending on what you want to see. One standard ticket for adults costs 32 Swiss Francs. There is plenty to see: Planes, Trains, Planetarium, Swiss Chocolate Adventure. There is a Lindt/Souvenir shop. Great place to visit!
Great museum, there is a huge outside area where kids can play with mini container boats, trucks, planes
Europe's best transport museum.
It is worth to visit
Planetarium is a must see, but the chocolate adventure is a bit dull and artificial.
Exciting exposition....very much appreciated the Gotthard tunnel corner
Great and very interesting museum with huge permanent exposition and many different temporal expeditions. Permanent exposition covers all kinds of transportation, cars, trains, planes, etc. It will be interesting both for children and adults. You can easily spend 3 h there. There is also a planetarium with 3d cinema.
Interesting museum for all ages. Nice place to visit on a rainy day. We will return another day as there is a lot to see and one day is not enough.
It's a great experience to go there with my children
Interesting place for both parents and kids. A lot of emulational machine to practice. Kids have a lot of fun here.
Huge! Lots of great things to discover. Great with children, but also interesting for the big ones! Better buy tickets online in bad weather. Have been in the queue for the checkout for over an hour. Unfortunately, the restaurant only offers standard food: Schnipo, spaghetti and other dishes
Would be nice, but unfortunately too expensive. For short-term visitors, a low hourly price would be a win-win situation for the Verkehrshaus and visitors (motto: small cattle also mess up). Not all have Swiss wages.
Wow .. you have to go there often to see everything
We spent in the Verkehrshaus only 5 hours - could easily spend several days. Obligatory place to visit with kids and a place for pilgrimage for any rail fan.
Very good entertainment for children and adults, too!
Enjoy a ride outside in a pedalo, put the kids on the roof of a minuscule buss and ride around or go inside to learn about history of cars, trains etc. Or play and learn some physics with some marbles, sheets of paper and wooden blocks.
Happily there's also restaurants as time flies when you're having fun.
I think a child like elementary school student can get interested and see it.
Unbelievable experience for adults and for the kids!!!!!! Totally worth it!
A decent enough museum with a lot to see, but as we went with our toddler on a very hot day we didn't enjoy it as much as we could.
For the price you pay (it's quite expensive) there wasn't enough to keep our little fella amused. Not good value, should have went for a walk along the lake.
Will be back when he is a little older, as for a young child there seems to be a lot more exciting activities to do.
Just great! Find it great that old vehicles are still issued somewhere or even driven. Have been back lately and were able to marvel at the various locomotives and aircraft in great weather.
Impressive place for kids to see all kinds of transports.
Spend a day in awe. You even get to enjoy some serious pieces of art!
we have an annual card for the whole family for 10 years ...
Superb interactive museum. (Also very nice for smaller children)
One of the best museums we have ever seen. Worthwhile for big and small. Technology, technology and participation are in the foreground.
Very informative and engaging for all age groups...lot of fun activities for kids....it is whole day activity (with kids)
Great. Exciting, impressive, informative. Always my pleasure.
Very huge and very awesome place must go.
I like the idea of a lot of people are you expecting to be a part of the team and I will be there at the same time and place and I'll be there in the morning to see if you can get a good night's sleep and I will talk to you later today.
A real big museum well designed and always up to date, the last exhibition on the Gotthard Tunnel is superb and very informative. There is something for everyone! My favorite passage? The flight simulator that returns you in all directions !!
Has come down very little, hardly anything new in the last 10 years. Confusing and not informative
Very nice, well done and well organized like most of the things here in Switzerland! but above all interesting !!
I recommend it to everyone, if you are in Lucerne, really see !!
Big, interesting, modern and interactive exhibition. A family trip in the upper price range. The high price of the day pass is probably appropriate for the offer. I am shocked from the price of a ice cream.
One of the best museums for transport. Check out the exhibition about the Gotthard tunnel!
You can see beautiful things. I liked.
Many attractions are closed due to Corona. That wasn't great.
The concept is a success. Loved by young and old. Grandparents, parents and especially children are enthusiastic. The self-service restaurant is very popular. Also open to non-museum visitors. Really recommendable.
Really nice museum. It's amazing becouse a lot of attractions are in WR.
The best and most comprehensive address when it comes to the history of technology in Switzerland. Especially small children and especially the boys are very excited to see these big machines. Actually, it's more like guys of all ages. The only thing I personally regret is, with so many small children, the food should be less canteen. Otherwise everything was great ...
The best and most comprehensive address when it comes to the history of technology in Switzerland. Especially small children and especially boys are very excited to see these big machines. Actually it concerns boys of every age. The only thing that I personally think is a pity is that with so many small children the catering should be less canteen-like. But everything else top ...
The best museum I've ever been to. So many interesting things about the technique presented in a beautiful way
