Clean, helpful staff, decent price, close to the hospital.

Maybe a little outdated, but our room was clean, the staff was friendly and it was a great stay for the price!

This place is absolutely the nicest place to stay. My husband, our dog and I moved here from CA for a new job and to move into our new home. Our move in day was extended and we were so fortunate to find the Varsity Inn. Front desk, housekeeping, as well as maintenance have been so accommodating. The pool is sparkling clean and open until 11 pm! Thank you Varsity Inn. My family and friends from CA will be staying here when they visit.

Decent spot for the price. My room included a larger than average fridge and a microwave that isn't so common in these cheaper motels.

HI HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE STAFF AT VARSITY INN . I WAS YELLED AT AN TREATED LIKE I WAS NOTHING .I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT .AN I WILL NOT STOP AT THIS REVIEW. PROMISE THAT .

The hotel was really close to the Newport music Hall and had microwaves and fridges in the rooms for a decent price. It's not fancy by any means but we didn't need fancy. We needed an affordable room close to the venue so this place worked out great.

Only stayed one night as it was super close to OSU Medical Center. Room nice enough. Bathroom shabby, but clean.

They need to clean there tubs better, cleaned it before we took bath,( not shower) the towel was dirty, need more then one small trash can, honestly for the rooms there a little pricey. Sorry just being honest.

Totally adequate for the price. Is next to a railway and road, so might bother the noise sensitive.

Rooms were clean. Place was quiet. Walking distance to resteraunts.

Dirty wash cloth in shower, and only enough towel set for one person. Shower tub still had dirty on shower floor.

My experience was terrible, Man when I talk abt terrible customer service, I'm talking the worst customer service? did not know you had to have a bank card on you so I had cash and came from out of town and was caught in the storm and he said oh well can't help... and he turned me down even after hearing my story.. America is getting bad

Room small, drafty, and parking lot did not make me feel safe.

My room was very clean and quite . Even though it was older ,I would stay there again. Conventionally close to OSU Hospital, downtown ,and Bucks football. Great room for the price ( much cheaper when you have loved ones in hospital )

Great location have been using this hotel for over 10yrs. Well traveling is exhausting. I recommend that the owners make a priority to clean every inch of the place number one start now ! There should be regular clean up of outside of room come on what it take to power wash cement walk way then have some kind of material put down to keep dirt off your shoes from entering room . There should be a dog area and as a help to owners have a clean place for their pets a water place so to clean paws. My home a pet doesn t come in with dirt on their paws. This is crazy maintenance should clean up poop. All these hotels let maintenance do nothing. What are you paying for. Instill this practice is clean mean more patrons OMG are you afraid of being clean we are paying. And if you don t do it at home some kind of gross place. If IKEA or other places like OSU or downtown they would not have a business I don t care if is is winter. And no I don t believe In tipping no one ever tips a teacher or a secretary ,cashier,or tech who gives advice. Microwave should be in every room and refrigerator. I did not make a reservation or would ve went to another hotel.

I can't say enough about the people here. They were wonderful.

This place was nice last summer. Not so much this year. A lot of people live there which is cool & understandable however I didn't feel safe during my visit Rooms are decent (modern & clean). Keep your eyes & ears open while staying here

The beds were hard and uncomfortable, which is only second to the housekeeping. They didn't do their job, cleaned and made one bed, but left the other one half stripped and we had to make it. Never gave us fresh towels, and only had 3 to start, with a 4 person reservation.

Nice place but a lot of bugs in the room and the shower needed cleaned badly. Perhaps it had already been cleaned badly and needed cleaned properly instead. But the furniture was nice and the location was great. I think it would get 5 stars but seemed like management needs to get up the housekeepings behind, and treat for bugs more often. If those 2 things would have been better I would have given 4 or 5 stars.

Bathroom was not very clean. Hairs in shower and on toilet. Maintenance needs done to the bathroom. Noisy train behind the hotel. Price reasonable for what you get

Too stupid to know how to bill someone. Stayed 2 nights and for one bill got charged 3 times for more than the 2 nights combined each charge.

If you love trains, this is the joint. Also rooms smell like smoke. But they have a fridge n microwave. Did a minor bed bug check I think we are clear.

Not the best housekeeping, old drink spill on vanity was covered in ants.

Not a bad cheap motel. Rooms have been somewhat renovated. But my bathroom had a leaking toilet that was running onto floor and showers need to be renovated.

Rooms are clean! The bathroom was small but, very nice! I believe my grandparents were in the remolded room.

The room was better than it looked from the outside of the building. Good house keeping and the location was great; close to OSU and airport.

Well, price is right, nice and clean room, close to everything. Only issue was the people outside the next room on the balcony (so they didn't wake anyone?) talking about every detail of their lives until almost 5 a.m. - I really hope that it led to something real as they clearly had a connection. They laughed a lot and found they had so much in common! I deserve an invite to the wedding, please add + 2 for my daughter and neice who were with me.

Room was decent, great area within walking distance to shopping and eating.

kind of pricey for the quality of room, but because of the location I understand. Don't take a room in the back....trains go by all night

Good for the price and location, but from a room standpoint, you get what you pay for.

Price is not bad at all and the room was way above the ratings I seen on this place. I would for sure stay here again.

It's a great place to stay if you need to go back and forth to the hospital are others specialist that in the area.

Clean room that didn't stink. Comfy bed and pillows. I'd recommend.

The location of the Varsity Inn was right next to the railway line so it could get noisy. The rooms were nice though there were not enough outlets and there was no fridge to store consumables that we brought along. They had a drive through check in which was great because you could just drive up to check in and then immediately drive around to your room.

Have stayed here for years for football games. Really starting to go down hill! Dirty rooms and bathrooms need major renovations ASAP!

Rooms were not clean, pillows were old and broke down. Not a good experience.

The Varsity Inn provided a quality stay at a very reasonable price. The location is perfect for those visiting Ohio State University. Nothing at all to complain about.

What did not stay hot very long at night, but in the morning I had plenty of hot water in the shower.

Basic motel. Clean, simple...all you need for a overnight stay.

Spacious rooms, very well runnight water In the shower (and draining!), good location. Somewhat hard to find directions parking space if arriving late, surprisingly "plaine and uninteresting" reception. Would stay there again.

You get what you pay for, simple as that. Definitely want to check-in before the night office opens. Took me 50 minutes to check-in, was not a waiting in the room situation.

This was my first time & last staying here. The room was so dirty! Bathroom floor had hair all over it, the carpet hadn t been swept & there was stains on the pillow case. I wouldn t recommend staying here. $140 for a night I could have spent at a much better hotel.

We stayed here for a concert. The rooms were decent and reasonably priced.

A bit run down as far as physical structure and guess what? The inhabitants matched that first statement. It wouldn't be too bad ifvut we're clean but . . . The ship has sailed on that chance!!

The room was great and the beds are comfortable. Too bad that the pool was closed.

I entered my room after dark & every single lamp was unplugged (therefor not working)...stumbled thru the dark to the bathroom where the shower showed hair (obviously not mine)...handles were missing on the dresser...coffee pot did not work correctly...the guest directory was falling apart & was written on...& there was no guide for the TV...the room was freezing despite setting the thermostat at 75...I had tests at the James Cancer Center the next morning and was hoping for a relaxing stay...did not happen. I gave those notes to the guest service person at the window....she did not even look at them.

It had a funny smell to it. There was only a comforter and sheet on the bed. There needs to be a light blanket as well since the comforter is so heavy and warm. Also, the wifi didn't work and the bath towels were like rags.

For the price, it is great, just the basics, but if that is all you need, it's perfect
