The pricing is astronomical. It noticeably goes up year after year. It's borderline ridiculous; between admission, food/beverage, and small storage lockers. Don't get me started on games and the gift shops.
On a positive note, they have a great range of rides to suit the whole family. It makes a good location for family fun. Best to bring a cooler with your own meal and snacks.
Another positive is safety. Their own standards are pretty high and the fact Minnesota has some of the strictest regulations in the country for fair rides is an added bonus.

We went to valleyscare. I suggest that you come a hour before it open and get fast passes. We went at 8:30pm and went in all the haunted houses and was only able to get on 2 rides because of the lines were long. Also they only had one cart going for the wild thing so the line was really long. I paid 40.80 to only ride 2 rides a waste of my money very disappointed...

The place is huge and is very exciting. It has many great rides and they have an amazing water park. The wave pool could be a little bit bigger because of the crowd but all in all it was a blast going

Let me state I do love Valleyfair. I have been going for years with my siblings. That being said, if this year had been my first year, we would never go back. This review is from a visit 2 weeks ago.
It took over an hour just to get into the park due to the changes in screening of bags and metal detectors. There was no rhyme or reason to lines or waiting. No signs high enough on the poles for anyone to prepare for phones out, bags open, etc. Only 5 stations and over 13 buses of school kids.
In the park: 30+ mins for every ride, understandable, but line cutting, holding places for other kids, as in 6 more kids, and no direction half the time when you do get up to the front. At least 4 rides were closed.
It took way too long to order a cheese pizza that didn't even have cheese on it. Anyway, very disappointed in our experience this year. Glad I didn't get the gold pass this year.

Lots of fun. Foods crazy expensive $10 funnel cake, $6 pizza slice etc. Maps are a bit confusing but definitely helpful once you get used to them. Would be awesome to see water slides that adults could take their toddlers on. Lines were not long and the entire family enjoyed their day here.

I love going to valleyfair, a generally clean experience and lots of fun, great rides and plenty of attractions. Food items are fairly expensive inside. And beware, they search your bags before entering!

Valleyfair is great. Valleyscare this year was terrible. I've been going to valleyscare for years and this year, they did not do a good job. I didn't get scared once. The lines go by so quickly because they let everyone in at once, they don't group you off like normal. It's lame when you're almost touching the person in front of you and watch them get scared so then you won't get scared because you know what's coming. I'd rather wait longer in the lines and go with a small group than have it take 2 seconds in line and be in there with 50+ people. Fast lane tickets aren't worth it, considering how fast each regular line goes by. I will not be attending next year or buying another gold pass.

I love bringing the kids here, this is our 4th visit this year.

There is something for all ages, and my children love it too.

The best option is too go for the season pass, because if you go twice in the season it pretty much pays for itself.

The food is resonably priced and for a large family going for the pizza package or the cinnabun store is the most cost effective for feeding everyone.
$45 for a large pizza, 6 breadsticks, a large oreo desert pizza and a side salad. Then you get like a 10% discount with the season pass.

For younger kid's they have an abundant of rides in planet snoopy, as well as the ball zone with air compressed guns miunted all over the place that shoots soft foam balls at all the kids.

Again, if you've never been, I highly reccomend at least checking it out once in your life.

Fright Lane pass is not worth the price you will end up waiting in line longer than most people in the normal lines to get 1 extra room in some haunted houses that aren't even that great pretty bad customer service from the valley Fair employees even had one say he would come back and answer a few questions for us as to why the fright Lane was taking so long and he just laughed and walked away food vendors were nice and the walking around atmosphere is pretty fun at night save your money on the fright Lane pass money is better spent on fast lane pass if anything so you actually get express service

Valleyfair is a great place to go with a group of friends. It is perfect for the thrill seekers with their one of a kind rides. They have a wide variety of foods to help fit everyone's wants and needs. But you can't forget about the kids! Valleyfair has a special area that has rides just for little kids. Go check it out!

Terrible to say the least would not recommend to anyone. Unless you like a bunch of premature teenagers acting like children. The 4:45 showing of the "Sinister Circus" at the "Galaxie Theater" was interrupted repeatedly and nothing was done. Their should be security or staff around these events monitoring them to ensure people can enjoy the show. Lowsy

Fun place for summer memories. Although I have witness the biggest roller coaster stuck multiple times at the top, if I remember correctly there is even you tube footage on it too. Overall not bad.

So clean and well maintained. There's a good variety of rides to keep everyone entertained. The water park was nice on the hot day we went. The lines were very reasonable on a Sunday morning/afternoon. The food is a little pricey but I definitely recommend springing for one of the refillable cups. They are well worth it!

Fun place to visit. But it's worth buying a season pass with how expensive ticket entry has gotten. Not to mention $17 to park. With a season pass you don't pay to park and you can get friends in at a discounted rate.

I have been going to Valleyfair twice a year, for 19 years in a row now. Every time you experience a good paradigm shift.
Always go on the weekdays and you'll enjoy a much less tense Valleyfair staff members, and very open. No waiting in lines is also a plus. I and many others agree the water park is the best when its mid summer and 95 degrees on a packed weekend. Also, Valley scare is incredibly fun and sweet in the autumn.
The food there is just common theme park food, but the funnel cake is the best in all of the places I've ever been with funnel cake. The prices for edibles and delicious liquids is really bad, so byo. Experiencing Valleyfair has always been and always will be as much fun as the first time for myself and many others. It's a must have life time experience, and well worth it.

*ATTENTION PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY OR HANDICAP*

*ATTENTION PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY OR HANDICAP*

I would not recommend anyone I know to get a season pass with Valley Fair for multiple reasons. We purchased 3 (THREE) fast lane passes on top of season pass prices and each time we came, we were told while in line that we had to wait for the regular line. That we didn't have priority even though we paid that extra money. Our average wait time with ZERO people in front of us in the fast lane, and many, many people in the regular line was 10-15 minuets. The most important reason I would never recommend paying for a season pass is because of the staff. We have an 8 year old with a handicap, he has a prosthetic leg. While in line waiting, a very rude staff member told my 8 year old son he was not allowed on the ride till he pulled his shorts up to show him (and everyone else in line) the rest of his prosthetic. We know what rides we are allowed on and we have shown in private at the office that his leg is secure and will not come off during a ride. This employee argued with me in front of everyone that was now watching to see why the line wasn't moving, and he also extremely embarrassed my son. The staff that work for Valley Fair, more specifically the ones that operate the rides and the food stands have no customer service and have no issue being completely disrespectful towards you and your children.

*Update* Just heard back from someone finally. They offered us a one day fast lane pass and a few dining passes. They tried to tell me what I could do differently next time to avoid our son being embarrassed. Which is have a blue slip. A blue slip is for any disabled or handicap person, so they can bypass the line and enter through the exit. We did have one of those after finding about about it, which was after we purchased our season passes with fast lane. Any parents or caregivers should know if you have a disabled/handicap person in your life, if you get them a season pass, you can get a free season pass. It's called a caregiver pass. You also don't need to get fast lane because the blue slip works exactly the same. Just be prepared for uneducated workers to possible embarrass the person with the handicap.

Prices for food and drinks are a little outrageous. And I wish they had Pepsi products but if you come prepared you can leave and go eat in the parking lot so you dont have to pay so much. I have been coming here since I was a kid almost every summer and I love it.

Line lines for rides, I waited an 1-1 1/2 for renegade. I think they had only one train in use for most of the wait. They a show playing at thetheater (I can't remember what it was called) was not spooky at all. I was more a show of skill and slap comedy. They were literally slapping each other. The haunted mazes were better and the lines moved quickly.

The rides are fun and the Waterpark is probably the only thing worth going for. Stupid expensive and not worth the money. Disneyland is less expensive and so much better. Splurge on the plane tickwt and don't waste your time with Valley Fair.

Valleyfair is a lovely theme park in Shakopee, Minnesota. We have been going on a tour of Cedar Fair parks this summer and Valleyfair is an excellent portion of that group of parks. Wild Thing is definitely the best roller coaster there.

Only gave it four stars instead of five because we felt the variety of food options was lacking. Most Cedar fair parks have healthy options and it seemed like Valleyfair had none. Other than that, this was a great park.

Dumpyfair-

Dumpyfair-

Not sure what staff training entailed this year but it appears having it together seems to have been left out.

Today I waited 20 minutes in order to use the self serve drink refill station ... 3 weeks into the park season, staff still seem to think that cash register is going to bite them.

The park is horribly overcrowded these days- serious safety concerns have been shared with management in regards to this. Hopefully they heed this warning.

I had a good time, and going on a Sunday in October seemed like a good idea. Lines were short, and I had no problem going on the rides I wanted. That said, the ticket price was a bit steep for hours open

I am SO disappointed. I got kicked out because I stuck my arm through a huge hole (already there) in a corn wall. Some guy poked his head through and asked if I just did that and I said I did. He said come with him. I didn't know him. He didnt say he was security or anything. I had to assume he may have been an actor and told him I didnt know it was against the rules and I wouldn't do it again. He didn't care. He told me to follow him or he would "blow his whistle" and people would come running. As much as I was scared to be forced to follow a strange man that was threatening me. I did as I didn't want to cause a scene. He very dramatically blew his whistle and yes people did come running and I calmly told them exactly what happened. I dont know what exactly it was I did wrong or why In the world it was such a big deal. I hope they get this stuff sorted out because this is REDICULOUS!!!!

For those living in America it might one of the other amusement parks, but it is the first park I visited on my short trip to America, I didn't spend much time in water park but the dry rides were all too good.. There is guidance on thrill level and everyone can choose accordingly... Steel venom and wild roller coaster were best ones with 5 thrill rating

VERY DISSATISFIED. The park was closed down for rain when we got there. No big deal, weather happens. However, they still sold us tickets and did not warn us that the rides were all closed down. No signage, nothing. I asked for a refund since we'd been there less than half an hour. No refund was given. I'd understand if we had arrived early in the morning and used the rides, but since we had been there for so brief a time, it is unfathomable to me that they did not have a contingency policy for a situation like this. I filed a charge back with my bank and next time I'll go to Six Flags in Chicago.

This is the first year I have gotten a season pass and it was definitely worth every penny. It's been wonderful to go whenever I want, even for just a few hours when the lines are low. The rides are a blast and new attractions are added every year.

We Buy the gold pass every year. You can't beat the price and it gives the family something to do spring summer and fall at no additional cost or hassle. If you go with the gold pass you are not obligated to stay on busy days due to the cost to get in. Leave and come back another time.

Valleyfair is a very fun amusement park. Has several rides that larger parks do not have such as Xtreme Swing and Renegade. Which are two of the best rides anywhere. Renegade is every bit as exciting of a roller coaster as The Beast, Kings Island, Cincinnati. It's now in my top five of wooden roller coaster experiences.

Fun amusement park to visit. Plan on a full day if you want to get the most out of the entrance fee. Buy your tickets and parking online for discounts. Plenty of rides for all ages of kids and adults. The waterpark is pretty fun. The one thing that is a pain is renting a locker at the waterpark for your dry clothes and phones. They were all taken when we were there and cost $25 to rent for a couple of hours!!! You can pack a cooler, leave it in your car and have lunch in the parking lot if you want to save some money. You are allowed re-entrance for the day. Most big rides have a place you can set your bag/backpack when you are on the ride. Our favorite rides were Steel Venom, Wild Thing, High Roller and Renegade. Some days can get busy with longer lines so plan accordingly.

The wait on some rides isn't terrible, on others it's really long. Not the worst, the cost of a 16 ounce beer (domestic) is 10 dollars, its 55 a person without fastpass, visited a bathroom to find 2 out of 4 stalls clogged 1 that can't latch and a single hand dryer for 5 sinks.
