EMERGENCIES = FLEE the worst hospital in Brussels. You have time to die on the spot. We put you color codes and we forget you for 5 hours .. and if you speak French it's even worse. All Dutch speakers have gone before.

A star because I can not put zero.

A star because I can not put zero.
The service is urgently bad but really horrible, doctors who do not care and try to quickly repack. I was for a health concern at this hospital, they brought me out after 2 pm telling me it was nothing, I had to go back the next day to make my nose and they finally reacted and found my problem, I would never go there again in my life

We was driving from Paris to Brussels and my 3yo kid got sick, kind of gastroenteritis, it was a nightmare during this trip.
Someone recommend us UZ hospital, we were not sure what was going to happen because here in Canada (let say Quebec, wish is not Canada) if you are not citizen or resident you have to pay upfront to have the service and then claim to the insurance
Surprise, we found a very nice people taking care of the baby, they did not ask for paying anything, the only requested the insurance card and that was all. Service was super-fast compared with Quebec; we made all the process in 2 hours, nurse, pediatrician, blood test etc.
Honestly, this hospital is super modern, very clean and people talk different languages.
This hospital is like a university hospital.
Healthcare in Belgium is composed of three parts. Firstly there is a primarily publicly funded healthcare and social security service run by the federal government, which organises and regulates healthcare; independent private/public practitioners, university/semi-private hospitals and care institutions. There are a few (commercially run for-profit) private hospitals.[1] Secondly is the insurance coverage provided for patients. Finally, industry coverage; which covers the production and distribution of healthcare products for research and development. The primary aspect of this research is done in universities and hospitals.

I can only be saddened to see the lack of staff in "emergencies"
I have been there since 4:00 pm and it is 22:12 and still no doctor or support in sight.
Other patients have been waiting since 14:00.
Some patient guides become aggressive with nurses who do their best. I invite the ministers concerned to live this sad experience that many sick citizens have to undergo !!
I will not even use the word "patient" anymore, but number!

Professional hospital, top doctors, fantastic radiology service in particular.
I often hear people complain about the waiting time in hospitals, but people have to realize that a hospital is not a hotel where everything can go the way "the customer" wants it. People try to do everything in their power to follow their schedule and make sure everything goes according to plan, but you cannot predict emergencies, for example, that has priority over less urgent matters. You should be that serious emergency yourself. We should not complain about the health care in this hospital, I have not found a better one myself. I speak from personal experience.

Great professionalism of the staff, always attentive, perfect bilingual.
Spacious, well-appointed rooms. Pleasant infrastructure.
2 flats; no parking spaces very close to the entrance and free for disabled people, compulsory payment of 5 euros per day for television, telephone and internet, huge for people who do not have the means or the need !! ! Hospital to recommend.

I was hospitalized but in a common room and what I did not understand when receiving the meal with my roommate; she receives more things than me in her tray while we are all in a common room! And on Sunday, my neighbor receives koek chocolate and I get beasts toast, I did not understand anything in this confusion ...
There is VIP service even for the common rooms ????? To enlighten us please

Extremely knowledgeable staff. Do not take risks and are open to questions and very flexible when it comes to making agreements.

We are happy to have arrived here after very negative experiences in the Netherlands (Vlissingen and Terneuzen).

Very friendly and helpful. You will be helped immediately. Nursing and doctors know what to do. Give good explanation. Despite the reason that you come, you have a good feeling here. Waiting times can add up urgently, but that is everywhere and you know that the doctors are really busy.

Dissatisfied with the hospital service, the majority of the medical staff contemptuous, foreigners are not welcome even if you take a private room as we did; keeping the patient in hospital while the latter feels in perfect condition to return home, supporting evidence; contradictory comments from the medical staff ... very bad experience, never again. A real revelation of the Flemish health system.

My father died there after his heart surgery there. The nurse had noted my mom's and myself's mobile phone number in case of an emergency. His death was finally reported to us by the police because they suddenly no longer had our number ... bizarre. When we visited him in the mortuary, we guessed what had just gone wrong. The person who was present could not give us a detailed explanation. I was able to call the CCU department myself to ask what had happened. To date, we do not yet know what exactly went wrong. But we as surviving relatives have to live with this. For them it was just 'just' a patient, but it was my dad ....

Poor quality orthopedic service. I was there last month for a violent dislocation of a finger of the hand following a work accident. after several radios and consecutive consultations spaced, I have just learned from a hand specialist that the problem has been underestimated and that it is necessary to perform surgery. They sent me to physiotherapy when it will not solve anything at all! Great amateurism!

So the note concerns the emergencies of this establishment and more particularly a member of the "caregiver" staff: Mr. Sabien.Vleeschouwers. I don't know if that day I had a doctor or an arrogant Flemish with a big superiority complex over French-speaking patients ... If I ever meet this junk again, beware of him because in his eyes I could agonizing as I wanted it had nothing to do with my state of health.

As I see the other reviews regarding the emergency service I realize that I came across the wrong place.
I am followed privately by gin who works in this hospital. I went to the emergency with strong contractions and pain in week 42 of large, baby who has had more amniotic fluid for a few days, at 11 p.m. at night, the induced childbirth which was expected 16 hours later ... ..after spending 5 hours in the emergency return home with contractions which reached up to 70% every 2/3 minutes, I didn't even know how to walk but I have to wait until tomorrow for the appointment because after them I am not at work.
Really disgusted.

Mixed feelings. The quality of care is good, the organization and accounting can be much better. With the recordings that I already had, something has always gone wrong. The hospital bill was okay.

Really bad. My friend came in really sick, she had high fever, kept vomiting, was in pain, probably peritonitis, we don t know yet. Why we don t know? Because they told her not to eat/drink last night and when she was taken back to the hospital they sent her from her room to the hallways to wait. She has been in pain and they did nothing, but dance the night away. They took samples of her blood last night and they didn t give back to her. She was literally passed out in the waiting room and the doctors, which I think are only students practicing, were dancing. Her dad called the doctor and she said she s busy.

The staff is perfect bilingual, no worries for French. Very nice spacious room.
The staff is attentive, nothing to say, I was very well followed after my operation.
Very professional
Paid parking (price a bit high)
Has all the infrastructure (store, bookstore, cafeteria, distributor ect ...)

This is getting a tail. The button on the room is broken. I report this by reporting to the central of the hospital by mobile phone. Which seemed to me the only solution, except staring at the wall. I've never had a mountain of this over me before. Nice and easy if the patient has 2 broken legs. Bravo.

This hospital is the worst of all that I have been treated. Medical staff are cold and not respectful of patients especially if they do not speak Dutch. They kept me for hours without news of my appendicitis while I could see them dancing in the hallway. I had horrible cramps and vomited and they made me leave the bed I was put in because they needed it for another patient. I waited 10 hours for nothing. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone who does not speak Flemish

Yesterday I had to go to UZ Brussel after a headbutt from a colleague in the workplace. From the beginning to the end I have been good, friendly and helped in a calm way. For which I thank you enormously.

Well, for 20 years I have been there and always have content until Friday 25/10. DOCTOR HAD 40 AGREEMENTS!
I had afspr at 1 p.m. and got out there by 6 p.m.
I asked the nurses why it was already 15 o'clock. The nurses tell me yes she has too many patents soon you turn okay!
When I visited the doctor, she lied for her own best, because she called in her patient.
Yes there was an emergency when I replied her sorry her sorry maaf you colleague said something else antw she complains back to the management their fault.

Where does this go and then parking 10 euros due to their mistake! I deduct from my invoice

Never go to the emergency room in this hospital it is the most rotten hospital I have seen in my life, from 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to say in the end that everything is fine you have nothing, while the person is suffering, despite the fact that the person is suffering limit you give back your soul they did not want to make it pass. Less suffering people are to pass before while it arrives after. I advise no one to go there in its emergencies most of them are trainees with no professionalism. You have to remove the word emergencies from this hospital is more like a waiting room or you die slowly.

I can t understand people that give only one star .
This is a huge hospital and there are lots of people that need help you have to wait that s normal !
And I also don t speak Netherlands and just a little bit French, bc I m german
but I never saw something,
that they were unfriendly or behave wrong !
if one person at the hospital had a bad day
it s not that the whole hospital is bad,
get that right !
I ll give this hospital 5 stars bc they saved my live and not only one time !

Dutch-language academic hospital in Brussels. Nice to be helped well in your own language, especially in consideration of the many unilingual French-speaking care centers elsewhere in the city. I understand that this is perceived as less pleasant for the French-speaking co-residents in Brussels, but they have sufficient supply in this city. Hopefully the tram will come soon, because accessibility by public transport is not optimal at the moment.

Have been treated for almost a year on oncology and surgery and radiography, treated equally kindly and compassionately on every shift by both professor, doctors, surgeon, nursing staff and ALL other staff I dealt with. Not a single negative comment. Also nothing to complain about cleanliness and food. 44 years ago, our dad was nursed there as a heart patient and many times in the following years, was already a very good hospital, and now much improved. And people who complain about trash should consider whether nothing ever goes wrong at home. It's all just people who work there in good and bad days. Great!

Outpatient: wait reasonably good arrangement, good reception, doctors in training very good knowledge and team work, professional and friendly listening ear.
Hospital: admission desk could be better with regard to friendliness, nurses friendly and knowledge. Rooms: ok it also not a hotel with room service.
Minus point when recording in a V.E. no explanation about bathroom / shower places and where the water filter system is located.
Emergency: not who is first, first served. Obviously the service looks at the degree of necessity after the pre-investigation of the emergency physician. Life threatening incoming have logical priority.

It is a city and not a hospital as it stretches over a vast area of land and contains all services.
It is a university hospital that contains a hospital and a university educational edifice. This university hospital is located in the Belgian city of Jett, which is spoken in both French and Dutch ..
This university hospital contains all medical specialties, all branches of physical therapy, a blood transfusion unit, and the university building. There is nothing wrong with that. It is a wonderful building that contains a library and study halls, and inside the medical complex there is a restaurant for students.
There is a public transport network next to the hospital and there is a garage for cars and the disabled ...
I hope you benefit from this information

Poor, anti-French PMA service that take patients for wallets. Doctor does not conceal the patients during the first appointment, refuses to give a hormonal dosage (we just have to deal with our French doctor) .... no More

Service from nurses and doctors left to be desired!
They clearly do not care for patients, and let you wait with your pain. They do not provide any additional tests, and make you out by giving you a poor Dafalgan.
Outrageous, fortunately it's called the emergency department, the wait is even longer than an amusement park!

I come to the blood collection service by appointment a few days before in which it was reported that they would notify the Dr to put the request in the computer, so I am on the service as it turns out, no data in the guide. Searching for Dr to correct, Dr Untraceable does not count, so extra waiting in waiting room until finally the requested file appears in the PC. we will never know of course. Being a patient is no laughing matter.

I arrived at the emergency department at 4:00 p.m. with a prescription from my doctor indicating the need for a gastroscopy. After 8 hours of waiting, without having received any information from the emergency services, I was told that he could not have this gastroscopy since he neither had any bleeding.

Excellent hospital. Dutch speaking and with the smile French and English are also spoken, no other hospital in Brussels can measure at the UZ. Given the size of the hospital it is of course difficult to generalize, but according to my own experiences: high quality of care (with a number of services that belong to the European or even world top), friendly and competent staff, nicely renovated rooms with all the necessities, large and efficient emergency service (if at least you come up with something that does indeed require some urgency), free Wi-Fi for both consultation and admission and so on. The disadvantage is that the billing service is rather slow and cumbersome, although that may be true for more hospitals and they are making cautious steps towards digitization. Another small disadvantage: no air conditioning in the rooms, so a hospital stay at very hot times is not recommended.

No respect even less when you are French-speaking and worse if you have origins other than Belgian. The staff cringe if you want to speak to you in French. I am EMERGENCY SINCE 10H the wrist broken it is 13h40 And still nothing! Some nurses tell me to wait because they took their lunch break other answer me not even ...... This is anything but an emergency service !!!!! And if you have the misfortune to want to go to the toilet you will be told to go after the others. A poor emergency service !!!!! Nice team unable to believe that we are here to sponsor Flemish nursing studies ....

Dear UZ Hospital Staff

Dear UZ Hospital Staff

I had thought for a long time before writing what I am writing now ... But in our religion who does not thank people does not thank God
In my country, the medical staff we call them angels of mercy ... But I did not see the practical application of this trait except in your own hospital

My wife followed her pregnancy in her last three months in your hospital, my new baby who died two days after his born.

Your kindness, good treatment and assistance are all worth thanks and gratitude.

Your condolences to me and his mother eased our pain and helped us to stand again.

You showed us that the gender and religion of a person does not matter ... The important thing is the humanity that we carry in our hearts.

Thank you for being by our side in the most difficult moments of our lives ... Thanks to the doctors, nurses, cleaners and security men ... You are the best and the finest

Thank you from my deceased child (Aws Dabool)

The image of the hospital is not up to the care and services provided to patients. Clean places certainly BUT quality of care, deplorable, emergency room first an excessively long waiting time however it was only 8am, weekday, after more than an hour of waiting lost, you are received by a student !!!
