We went for zoo lights. It was insanely cold, but the lights, as always, were awesome. Their new stained-glass type creatures were super cool. We even got to see two sleeping leopards (a real one) snuggled together.

The exhibits are always changing which gives you reasons to return. It still holds things you remember from your childhood I.e. the train and certain animal exhibits so it makes it a great place to take your children my favorite exhibit with the giraffes. The way they designed it gives you a better view of the animal. It has much to offer, and can make a great activity that whole family enjoys. When you visit be sure to bring sunscreen and a stroller you will be walking quite a distance throughout the park and there are few shaded areas.

My family really enjoyed our time at this zoo. The zoo has been completely renovated since the last time I was there and it is gorgeous. The iconic giant marble when you first walk in is still present, which kids adore. There is a little train to let the kids putt around on. Plenty of critters to see as well. I highly recommend.

Fun!

Hoogle Zoo ... There is water, drinks, and food available at The Beastro. Tickets are just under $20 for adults. Bring a spray bottle of water to wet your head, arms, neck, back/front, and legs to stay cooler in the heat of summer. Wear wide brimed hats when needed. The bridge west of the hippos pen was a cool spot to rest a minute; & also grandma's (oriential) house has AC. Also you can stand in the Mists of water here and there throughout the zoo to get cooled off. We used a rented wheelchair (10$), but it is was so difficult going down hills. Good breaks are needed, so make sure that that are working; and also going back up hills pushing a wheelchair w/adult person in it is extra difficult. You can ask a helpful worker to call up a golf cart to take to to your vehicle, or to a safer level place. The workers & golf cart driver were very kind and so helpful, even offering cold water to us often.
A motorized chair would be ideal, but they do not rent them at this zoo. If you could bring your own, rent one, or borrow one that would be best.
Bring water to stay hydrated, & sports drinks to replace electrolites minerals lost thru perspiring. Wear comfortable walking shoes cuz it is a long way to walk when covering all areas. During the hot days about 50% of the animals hide out from the sun & heat, so you don't get to see them. They told us the animals start come out about 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. A good time of year to come to the zoo is in the spring when it is cooler and the animals are out during the day... and when there are newborns all around, which is so enjoyable for the children, teens & ..everyone . If you want pictures have your camera ready cuz you never know what, or who is going to show up...haha. Friend and family pics are great too. There are picnic tables here and there on the grounds where you can sit, rest, and have a bite to eat, and also children's fun areas. The animals and sea creatures are totally awesome. It is all worth it. So have a great time safe, comfortable time and enjoy yourselves. We did!!

This is a great zoo - well maintained and laid out for visitors. Summer 2017 features an "invasion of bugzilla" - which means there are huge animatronic bugs scattered throughout the zoo, which i found a bit creepy...

Went in winter when 37 deg out. Not all animals out, but I was impressed that we were able to see the giraffes, elephant, lions, grizzlies, and tigers were out. The gorillas and orangitangs were inside but that was better because you could see them up close and playing.

Enjoyed our time today! Naturally we think it's a bit pricey oh, but it was a fun time nonetheless. considering it's a zoo, there were lots of great things to see we especially loved the giraffe exhibit and the sweet polar bear. The python I can go without seeing again! Little concern for the polar bear in the heat oh, definitely not his normal habitat. All the other exhibits looked well capped, the place was jammed packed naturally oh, but still a really fun way to spend the day with my family for Mother's Day. I do think more special should be offered for special holidays in days like celebrating parents.

My kids loved it. Nice to see the new development. New polar bears. Very nice zoo to visit. Be sure to get discount deals. Les Schwab tires has ticket deal this year, buy one adult pass, one free kids pass. No purchase necessary.

A Utah classic! I've been coming here forever (I won't say how many decades), and the zoo is constantly building, updating, and changing to provide better exhibits and habitats. Pro tip #1: try to catch the elephant show and bird show. They're well worth the time. Pro tip #2: Get the bagged cotton candy, not the kind in the cup. The bags hold a lot more.

I was super impressed. We met a friend there. Parking was easy. They kept it super clean and simple to stay safe and even though the playground, carousel and train are all closed, my kids from teen to toddler all loved it. Those gorgeous animals were captivating. We had plenty of time to see everything and enjoy our experience. Take time to talk with the workers, they're so knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Zoo! It was a fantastic day. Try their popcorn and ice cream. My kids loved their chocolate cones. I really enjoyed my dole whip. The burgers and garlic parmesan fries looked delicious too.

Had such a wonderful time. My grandchildren fed the giraffes. The staff is at the various attractions giving information about the animals, I found it to be more personalized and enjoyed it very much.

Had an amazing time with the kids. Thank you Hogle Zoo for allowing us furloughed government employees treat our kids to some fun, because the kids shouldn't have to suffer while we're not getting paid.

It was very enjoyable today. The animals were active and out where you could see them. The biggest problem that I saw was not of the food booths had straws for souvenir caps but the little ones and they didn't have any for drinks in regular cups. For the price that is charged they should have all dining areas supplied.

Coming here as a child, they've changed so much, but still have some things that I remember seeing 20 years ago! We came for the boo lights and also came for a work function where they are starting a new attraction in the spring where your gonna be able to feed giraffes!! Our group was lucky enough to test out what it would be like and it was an amazing experience!

I frequently get excited to go to the zoo and then I always remember after I leave that I never have that good of an experience there. First of all, it is very tiny. There are very few animals and surprisingly there are many which are native to Utah. The grounds are cleaned, well organized and there is great employees there. However, there just isn't much. I take my time each trip and I am surprised that I am struggling to reach two hours worth of time spent. That being said, if the price was lower, I would say it is worth it. For adults its nearly, $15. I never pay; I attend for work related events and I am glad that it is not out of my pocket or I would feel ripped off. Once again, great for small children that will being excited about everything; but it doesn't have much appeal after that.

I am just leaving its october 13 2018.

It isn't a huge zoo, but definitely enjoyable. I recommend showing up as early as you can. It tends to get very busy in the afternoon and it's difficult to see exhibits much less find parking.

Very nice zoo but thanks to COVID most of the interactions where closed. I will say the animals here where a little more active than other zoo's we have been on. The brown bear was a delight to see he was actually up against a plexy glass wall asleep along with another brown bear. The lion exhibit was another exhibit that has the plexy glass wall and these too where lying down close by. You are able to feed the giraffes here but they do start feeding at 2 PM. The zoo consist of a train which is extra I believe $2.50 per person it's a really small train drive you start at the giraffe exhibit around the giraffe, zebra and warthog exhibit and back to where they maintain the train to stop back at the same spot you got on. This zoo also has a marry go round which you have to purchase tickets for there. Wasnt really busy because of COVID though you have to buy tickets in advance AND you are given a certain time to show up.

Very well-maintained and cared for zoo with tons of animals! It does get rather hot, but they set large misters and fans up periodically throughout the walking path. A bit pricey, but as long as you bring your own food and drinks, it's not terrible.

I ve always liked Hogle Zoo, but after moving to Southern California and visiting the San Diego Zoo I have a new appreciation for Hogle! Though it s not as large (that can be a good thing), Hogle has done a great job with most of the animal exhibits and walking the grounds isn t too exhausting, always something fun and interesting along the way.

The bug where an amazing extra. I love that they have people out to talk about the animals and have them do tricks. The add splash pad is amazing for the kids. The water coast a lot is my biggest problem with how hot it gets there.
