It was so cool to see the giraffes close up! The zoo was clean and well laid out. All staff we interacted with were enthusiastic and kind.
Spending most of the time there caroling. Either as a pirate for Halloween, or dressed as a Victorian for Zoo Lights caroling with the Old Glory Vintage Dancers. Happy stuff.
Cool place but after you ve gone once or twice there isn t much reason to return, the Zoo Brew nights are fun
The Zoo is awesome...
I would have given 5 stars if the splash pad would have been running
Smaller zoo, but kept my young kids entertained for a few hours. We went on a rainy day but plenty of animals still out and active. Didn't feel very restricted here with COVID-19 compared to previous visits. One of their gorillas had just given birth and we were able to see her with the baby so that was pretty neat.
Last time I visited this place was 12 years ago. The zoo facilities have improved a lot over the last few years. I recommend going again if you have not been in a while.
My fiance and I love zoos and have come here for our last two anniversaries (we are from Massachusetts) and finding a zoo open in the winter is a really nice treat. Until it is consistently cold all of their animals are out and about which is really rare back home. Also cannot wait for their red panda exhibit coming soon! All different animals and don't miss the indoor animal exhibits. Almost missed them the first time and had to use a map but well worth the search! Great zoo for such a great price!
It was a fun place to go it was clean and the staff were nice.
There were a lot of empty exhibits though feel like we missed out on some stuff do to that
I love how committed this zoo is to creating a better environment around the world. It may be a small zoo, but they're doing what they can.
Super fun day. Everything was great, but the train was super loud and squeaky and needs to be oiled. The conductor was awesome and I wish we could have heard him better.
To people complaining about kids being animals to the animals, it's not the Zoo's fault. There is nothing they can do. There are way to many people. Don't give a bad review, hurting busyness because you don't like people's parenting skills. Great zoo, fantastic reptile house.
Zoolights was absolutely beautiful. A great experience!
It's a very good zoo. They keep updating it, which is nice. Of course it's smaller than some of the great zoos around the country, but it does the job here in Utah.
The zoo is great and some things are reasonably priced while all others are ridiculously priced. Always a fun time though and the zoo does a pretty good job of keeping things fresh with new exhibits
A really fun experience and lots of different animals
Great place to go..small zoo but really nice place..
What can I say, I love the Hogle Zoo! We've had memberships for a couple years and it's been wonderful. The zoo is well maintained and the animals are cared for. It's not the biggest zoo, but that just means it's easy to see everything in just a couple hours. Great place, good atmosphere.
The zoo is nice but its to small abuq zoo in newmexico is way better but utah has the better aquarium utah just needs a better zoo now even if it means getting a bigger pice of land some were else in utah and moving the zoo there after the new zoo is built
Man! THE ZOO IS EXPENSIVE!!!! Don't we get taxed for this too? Then knabbed with an impractical entrance fee?? LOWER YOUR PRICES GUYS!
It is a great place to go for your kids and for adults too. they have a wide selection of animals and they have a lot of gift shops. And they have great staff there and they are very nice too people. Traffic and parking is OK and they are super wide spread. It is probably a good time to go when it is cool since the zoo is mostly outside.
Good place to take the family and dream of adventure!
I don t recommend this place unless you re trying to waste your time and money. Only had about half of the animals out and the ones that were looked so miserable. After my visit I seriously feel guilty for even contributing money to this place. I am now totally against this place considering how miserable these poor animals looked.
Great day for the zoo the animals were active wasn't too crowded weather was a fabulous we love going there
Asian Highlands are amazing. They have a variety of animals, such as red pandas, a couple tigers, and snow leopards. The tigers and snow leopards were out for part of the day, I only saw the red pandas asleep.
The Hogle Zoo is such a fun place to visit. They are AZA accredited and take great care of the animals. They have fun bird shows and giraffe feedings daily. They also have elephant trainings and sealion/seal training during the day. The best times to go are the early mornings and later evenings because there are more animals active.
They have a few places to get food and have fun dishes.
Meh, nothing too special about this zoo. Way overpriced, on the smaller side, food prices aren't too bad for a zoo.
Almost all of the animals were out, and the kids were able to enjoy them
Honestly you guys should keep the way your letting people in and how many even after everything goes back to normal. The zoo is always so crowded and never can enjoy. The only thing is making sure the jaguar has his fountain of water where he or she can cool off and please do something to keep the poor bears cooler even if it big things of ice the lay on. They looked so miserable I think all the exhibits should have bags of ice the animals can eat. I think they would love it especially the bears
So awesome!!! Animals look healthy people have each other room. I hope they keep the appointment s for viewing. This has helped so much and made our experience better.
This is such a beautiful place. I live in Chicago and this zoo puts BOTH of our zoos to shame.
Good wholesome family fun. Over priced but what do you expect really, it's a zoo.
I give it 3/5 stars because A. The parking space is REALLY small and if you can't fit in the normal parking area, there's a designated parking area across the street which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me? B. A lot of these animals looks like they're dying miserably and not taken care of properly. Which makes me sad because even if they're brought here for entertainment purposes despite everything. At least take care of them.
Parking was crowded because it always is and then today was their first free Wednesday. But once I was in it was just fine. Kids loved it!
So many animals that are well cared for. I love this place but I'm sad about there being no funnel cakes.
Great zoo. Great exercise going up and down all the hills.
We had a wonderful zoo. They had many great viewing opportunities the Pallas kittens were adorable and so very playful!! The elephant seemed to pose for picture. The two polar bears were so fun too.
it doesn't matter what the Season (Exceptions for some animals) but the Zoo is up to it. Christmas? They decorate the Zoo with themes and lights. Aside from the animals to enjoy...You can tell that time, talent and love for animals have influenced the changes made for their well being and remember....Eat there. The food is good and the Zoo I am sure gets a portion of the profits, hence, it is a win, win situation. I will be back and Back...more often than not. Note: For those with issues, the Zoo maintains a good number of electric mobility scooters, so that ALL can benefit and enjoy
It's ok except to pay a lot more then just the entry cost especially if you bring kids. Saving grace you can bring in food and drink
Great zoo highly recommend great for the hole family
Small zoo. But they try hard to keep the enclosures clean and relatively nice for the animals. Christmas lights are fun here.
Really clean zoo. Small zoo, done in less then an hour.
Easy to navigate around the park, lots of variety with the animals. Overall very fun. Kids enjoyed it. Even though I wouldn't let them hop the fence to pet the crocodiles.
A great visiting place with my wife and some grandkids.
It s been a lot of years since my husband and I have been to the zoo. We used to bring our kids when they were little and now we re grandparents. Frankly, I stopped bringing the kids at a certain point because of the poor habitat conditions for the animals and how absolutely sad it was to watch them pacing back and forth in their cages. You would hear about the zoo getting a great donation from something and then they would turn around and use it for a new gift shop. So imagine my pleasant surprise when we started walking through the zoo this time. No pacing animals, beautiful habitats for them and wonderful attraction areas for different exhibits. Even though it was a squelching hot day, we found the new zoo to be very refreshing.
I love all the improvements that have been made over the past few years. I do recommend attending one of the summer, after dark events!
This was one of the most amazing things I have ever done! The staff is amazing and very helpful. But I recommend going during the afternoon because that is when the animals are out the most. But I would definently go again!
It was really great. Do many animals. I wish we would remember we have such a great zoo so close to home.
We loved it! It is a great place to go if you do not mind the hills! I love the work they have done and it is a wonderful place to bring children. I would recommend bringing your own food into the zoo because the food is a little pricey just remember to not feed the animals. Also if you have little ones bring a stroller or wagon because it is spread out little ones can get tired. Most the animals we saw were still lazy and sleeping but it was still a cool experience. I would highly recommend to anyone as a summer activity. Lastly don't forget sunscreen you will spend most of your time outdoors.
Fun place for the kids. Unfortunately, half of the reptile house was closed for some reason
Love the new improvements. Always fun to see the animals. They are in good health and well cared for
It's amazing something you could spend an hour or all day doing. The animals look so lively and happy. My favorite is the guinea fowl that wander the Savannah exhibit.
The zoo is a great place to visit! Especially with kids! The exhibits are great and all new and redone since I was there as a kid.
I've never been to another zoo, so I have none to compare. Hogle Zoo has elephants, giraffes, orangutans, spider monkeys, tigers, leopards, snakes, tortoises, crocodiles, lions, grizzly bears, otters, seals, zebras, and more. It's an extremely busy place in the summer and open year round. 100% stroller and wheelchair accessible. There's a bird show in the summer that is amazing and fun, and a train and a carousel ride; both cost a bit extra. My family was there for about 3 hours and I feel like we saw everything. It wasn't peak summer, but it was spring break around here, so mildly busy, and we didnt have any toddlers that tend to slow you down.
I think it's a fun place for all ages. I've gone since I was young, my children have always loved to go. M my oldest is 23 and loves it still. My parents even joined us yesterday (newly retired) and they had a lot of fun too.
Boo lights is all lights and few animals...a let down.
