Great zoo .. both the kids and adults love it. The animals are well taken care of and their exhibits are phenomenal. My only complaint is your Customer Service when buying tickets. A little snippity and they don't pay attention or listen.

Great zoo for the family. The zoo was very clean and had a good amount of animals to see. Lots of shade available and places to eat and rest. Also a cool splash pad and play ground for the kids. Anything inside the zoo was extra. However I felt like the prices were pretty reasonable.
We love this place. It's exciting to see which animals are active and playing around each time we are there. It's always different. One time we were up on top above the Wolf habitat and an ambulance with siren blaring went by on the highway below and it set the wolves a howling. I had never heard wolves howling before in person, there is someting deeply eerie and etherial about it.
I love the Hogle Zoo and I really enjoy every trip. Whenever I have guests visiting, the Hogle Zoo is a MUST SEE. I have been a member for many years. The Hogle Zoo does an amazing job of caring for their animals, educating the public, and providing a great overall experience. I was impressed by the way they adjusted to masking, but super disappointed in the patrons. They were incredibly disrespectful, took their masks off or wore them on their chin, and crowded around others. The staff did a great job trying to remind people to remain safe and keep their distance. Aside from the lack of respect from patrons, the Hogle Zoo really is a great destination to see and learn about animals.
One of the best zoos out there. They have been upgrading over the last few years and are really top notch. The zoo has all the animals you'd expect yet it isn't super huge so you can do it easily in a day without feeling burnt out. The seals and elephants are always highlights. The reptile house and birds are great as well. The Beastro is a fun place to eat.
What an amazing place to go all year round! Grandchildren, friends and family all usually find several points of interest to talk about four days and weeks after going to the zoo.
I love the zoo! The Hogle Zoo is a pretty good one. The workers seem to know what they are talking about and are helpful. The animals all seem taken care of and happy enough for the circumstances.
I took this zoo for granted. I grew up in Salt Lake but now live in a small town with a zoo that makes Hogle Zoo look quite impressive. They are always making good improvements, it seems. Worth the visit, even if you are coming from quite a distance away.
It was nice and compact. We were able to see everything in a couple of hours comfortably. Added bonus for the mist fans located throughout the zoo those came in handy!
Cute little Zoo! We went on free Zoo day and it wasn't even that crowded! I'm coming from CA though, so my definition of crowded might be slightly skewed. Overall very nice visit.
A lot of hills. But you are in Utah what did you expect. I love the musting fans pkaced throughout the zoo to cool you off. They have a great bird show.
Fairly well priced and there are a lot of animals. Its not the biggest zoo in the world but where it makes up is in how close you can get to the animals. Definitely worth it.
I have been to numerous zoos in my time and this one was by far the worst one I've ever been to. Not only was the zoo itself very small, but the upkeep did not seem top notch.
Very very different than it was when I was a kid some 25-30 years ago! Much better/nicer and a lot less of a dump than I remember it being...just being honest.
I love the hogle zoo. We've been season ticket holders for years and even though it's a big drive for us to get there we love every visit. We have a new experience every time. Repeat visits allows you to not feel rushed and get to focus on a different exhibit each time. We appreciate new experiences like feeding the giraffe ($4 with member discount, $5 without) and the things we do every time like the train ride or carousel ($2/ride) we absolutely love the bird show and go as after as we can. Hot days are no problem with misting fans around the park and the fun splash pad to play in. Lots of shade and there's ice cream too. Even on bad weather says we've had a great time. It's always a good day to go to the zoo. I recommend a season pass.
As far as Zoo's go this place is good, although it's not like there is a lot of competition. The animals appear to be well treated for caged wild animals.
The zoo can be fun, but with some of the animal attractions they should regulate how many people are in there at a time and to grip move people along. The monkey/gorilla habitat is a zoo inside itself just to get through without being ran over. It's ridiculous.
It was labor day and even though the parking lot was packed, the zoo was still really easy to navigate and didn't feel overcrowded. It is a great place to spend the day with the family. I would give it five stars but I don't fully support the idea of zoo's but I understand their need to facilitate education and conservation efforts. Overall, great experience with plenty to see and do.
I bought tickets online for my family and we ended up not going and I emailed customer service 3 times prior to our ticket date and I've never gotten a response. This is ridiculous.
Recently visited the zoo and the living conditions of many of the animals are pretty depressing. The giraffes are kept in a barn, but let out into a yard clearly too small for them. Many of the animals seemed lethargic and bored. I'd suggest going to the Living Planet Aquarium or Tracy Aviary instead. Much better conditions for the animals, more enriching learning experience, and better facilities overall.
