I love going to the zoo with my family and friends. There are lots of things to do. One of my favorites is the train.
This place should no longer exist, i think the idea of locking up animals is horribly barbaric. Its hurts me to go and support the zoo when I feel the animals should be out in the wild.
It has many animals to learn from and their habitat. The space they have is pretty good, plenty of room to walk around and spend some family time. One can take advantage of the discounted days to save a little on income. Kids love it, especially the carousel

I've always loved this zoo, they have enough special exhibits to keep it interesting. The food used to be a pretty awful, but they have really improved and I look forward to seeing what the Beastro has to offer. But the best thing out there is Zoobrew in the warmer months. Cool evenings, cold libations, and no kids. This is how the zoo should be all the time.
They clearly care about the animals and the goal of conservation of species here. Beyond that, we had a great time, despite the Covid-19 restrictions and cold rain. Will definitely be going back this summer!
Bird show....just go to the bird show. PJ stole the show, bring that sassy bird out more.
Some of the enclosures seem pretty small for what the animals should be living in. The facility itself is nice enough. Always clean.
It is a great little zoo. The new attractions are amazing, especially the baby gorilla.
The Zoo itself is fantastic. But do not purchase your tickets ahead of time. I purchased our tickets last night, and now we are waiting in line at guest services to redeem the purchase code. Zoo opened at 10, guest services opened just after the gates. Could have waited and purchased my tickets at the ticket window, and my family would be in the zoo right now.
I've come to this zoo since I was a wee lad; it improves every time I visit. The staff are friendly and helpful, there are amazing animal enclosures, and a beautiful art gallery. My favorite event is the bird show. I highly recommend it. It's a great place to bring students and school groups as well. You'll need enough chaperones to have a ratio of 5:1.
Pricey. Kid tried to beat up my Granddaughter! Need more security!
I attended a company party here. They catered the lunch and it was really great, pulled pork sandwiches with potato salad. Great venue for company picnics and such. The zoo was pretty busy the day I went, but they do a pretty good job managing the crowds. Just bring plenty of water on a hot day!
Super fun! We went on free admission day and it was beyond crazy but we still had a good time. We avoided the playground because it was so packed! Saw lots of cool animals and the zoo was super clean. Love this place!
Fun, clean, and a good price. The animals are well-maintained and present and the exhibits are beautiful and look comfortable for the animals.
This zoo is awesome! Nice exhibits. Clean and easy to navigate. Friendly staff.
Zoo was great today, not crowded, they were doing great at making sure patrons had their masks on, only thing the beastro was closed, I suggest to bake pizzas there and sell them at the snack place by the slice, I love their veggie pizza with the Alfredo sauce and was disappointed not to get it. Employees were friendly and nice.
My kids love the zoo. Hogle Zoo is clean with plenty of animals and fun things for kids to do.
The baby leopards were my favorite but the wolves looked stressed out and the lady wolf seemed very unhappy and unhealthy. The wolves need some love please!!
Its enjoyable would have been better with kids or a significant other, but for the most part take your time and really learn about the animals before rushing through. It was harder for me my glasses got fogged up due to my mask.
The zoo is nice and well staged although a little small. We thoroughly enjoyed the zoo visit experience only to find our car broken into when we returned. According to the folks at the zoo this happens all the time and Salt Lake PD doesn t even come out to take a report even though we lost a couple thousand dollars worth of belongings. Apparently SLC has a rampant theft problem which reflects poorly for this tourist. We will think twice before returning to that zoo
It seems the more they do the worse the place gets and the cost. I dont mind paying to get in but wow every time we go they have raised the price. And less animals but longer walks to see them. Even the kids was disappointed at the things that has changed so much.
Awesome decorations, and environments. Des tigers like to swiiiimmm. My favorite part of the zoo. Come here during the winter, its cool.
Great place, lots of animals I really nice natural looking habitats. Not just for kids, lots of interesting animals and a beautiful natural look to everything.
Incredibly rude to their patrons, I would definitely wait until they hire nicer employees and raise their customers service standards.
This is a really great zoo! Easy walk, great displays, good accessibility, and we got a great discount for having a membership at a different zoo, so a great price! Lovely animals and a fantastic day spent there.
I had my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter with me it was a blast
Not like it used to be less animals and allot exhibits closed
Visiting here brings back memories from my childhood. They have done a great job of keeping the park clean and updated.
Great place to take the kids and see some creatures that you probably wouldn't see otherwise.
Fun place to go as families. Make sure you go earlier in the morning or all of those lazy animals will be sleeping, specially the lions. When you go earlier in the morning, you avoid the heat but also you see the animals more active and is more fun the kids. It's a great place to visit, is very expensive inside, but it worth to go a couple of times during the summer.
Over priced for a slurpee any ways it was a great the place is nice and well kept they have no smoking on Hogle Zoo property and when one as there on 20 the Lion was growling so loud it everytime he'd Rrroar you feel the vibration of his roarin in your droopy ikkkki<
ZooBrew is an excellent experience, would definitely recommend it to anyone who could attend.
Recently visited the Philadelphia Zoo, and honestly this is way better. The exhibits are better designed for kids, and they have an awesome splash pad and train. We loved it, also we went in the evening and was not very busy.
The animals are so cute and the food stands are amazing!!!!
We went on a Sunday for my grandson's birthday. It was a beautiful day so we stayed for hours. Nora the polar bear was our favorite !
We love the Zoo! Caretakers are always willing to share their love and knowledge of the animals. Been greatful to see so many animals from around the world. My kids love it!
This zoo has really changed since I was a kid. The place is clean and the animals are being taken care of. It was really nice to walk around with the kids. I recommend this for a great family day.
Zoo seemed dirtier than usual. Many exhibits the glass was so dirty like they hadn't been cleaned
We have a membership and visit often. I like Tuesday mornings the best.
My time at the zoo was wonderful! It was very well kept and the animal exhibits we're top notch. My wife's favorite exhibit was the red pandas that are there for a limited time! For anyone that is interested to see animals that are friendly and interesting to look at, go here . I would recommend anyone looking for a wholesome family outing to consider the Hogle Zoo!
Waste of money and time. I've been around animals all my life. The animals were lethargic and miserable. ( in my point of view)
Our son loves the train ride, lions, polar bears and more.
Adorable new baby gorilla Not too hot this morning, very clean and well kept.
It's a fun zoo. A lot better now that they have been remodeling.
We love going to Hogle Zoo. Our favorite animal this visit was the red panda. We sat there for quite awhile watching one sleep on a branch up high while the other played down below. So fun and cute. Our kids love the carousel and train.
We came here a few months ago with our two kids (2.5 and 4) and my parents. We had a blast with them! The kids especially loved the new water play area and could ve spent all day there. We also enjoyed the bird show and had fun looking at every animal. We sure have a blast every time we come here.
This a fantastic zoo. It's clean open and has a great variety of animals. We came on a Saturday and they were busy but not crazy. The only suggestion I have is to have better ticket and entrance lines.
Always a great time at Utah's Hogle Zoo! The weather was great, friendly employees and the seals were my favorite! The gift shop was decently priced as well! My daughters had a great time.
What a disappointment. It was closed do to an employee event. It didn't say anything about being closed on the Website I drove a along distance to be let down. Not to mention the fuel spent.
I always have a blast here. The elephant habitat is by far the coolest I've ever seen.
Many of the animal enclosures have been redesigned in recent years, making them better for both the zoo-goer and the animals. Zoos are currently important for conservation work, so efforts like this towards an enriched day-to-day experience for the animals is much appreciated.
We seriously love the zoo! It seems some of the animals are MIA, but they also need their medical needs met. Wish the membership included either a train pass or carousel, but we are also happy to help with conservation and such help. We are excited for more under construction things to open, hopefully soon!!!
Where is the tiger???
$18 per person to see a few animals asleep or animals too far away from view. VERY EXPENSIVE!!
Love this zoo, I always take my kids here! The membership is awesome! We bought the $300 yearly membership so worth it...
Went on a Saturday. All the animals were basically hiding... no peacocks or chickens or anything walking around. Literally spent an hour here. Worst zoo ever. There were more mechanic bugs than there were animals.. no lions.. no polar bears.. just empty exhibits.. so disappointed.. wasn't worth the 80$ we spent.. next time our family will go to the aquarium.. or stand outside so we can actually see animals.. I feel like we paid to walk a nature trail.. I wish I could give it 0 stars.
Awesome place to visit and coming from LA it so much better. Kids had lots of fun.
I have been coming here since I was little and the zoo just keeps improving the quality for the animals and also for the guests. I really love the interactive displays for the kids and think that it really is the best way to get them hooked on conservation. I think that the zoo could do better at having feeding times, also having more of the animals that kids can touch and have an awesome experience with. The Natural History Museum has the spiders, centipedes, and cockroaches that they have crawl on you if you are willing and the kids loved it. Hope to see some more awesome changes! Keep it up!
Brew at the Zoo is a great time for adults, no kids allowed....hence the name. Turn the zoo into a pub and you add Halloween lights; that's a pretty good time if you ask me.
Grizzly and polar bears were great. Red Panda had to much hype. Loved the reptiles and amphibians. Would visit again
That's the kind of place that you want to take your family out. Kids really enjoy it.
I loved my experience at the zoo. The timed entry and one-way path worked great. I felt super safe and was pleased to see all the hand sanitizer stations and the sanitizing crews hard at work. We have a high-risk family member in our household and this was the first time since March that we got to do something fun and normal(ish) with our kids. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. It is clear that Hogle Zoo cares about the safety of their patrons and the wellbeing of their animals.
ZOO Brew rocks. Great evening for adults to stroll through without tripping over strollers.
You wouldnt think to come in the winter, but it is a great time to come. Not too busy and most of the animals were active. Because it's cold a lot of the animals are inside the buildings so there are more chances for interactions, especially the Orangutans!
Good place to bring the kids. You can learn about a lot of different animals.
Went here a few times these past two years. Feeding the Giraffe is a must, seeing the gorillas and lions and elephants is pretty neat. Not a very large zoo, but not very expensive either.
Very enjoyable and the Sea Lion/Seal Show is a must see! Will be back!
