There is so much to see here! We were there for almost 4 hours, and we really only saw everything once. The gift shop and food was a little pricey, but that was easy to overlook with the amount of animals we got to see. Only a couple of exhibits were closed, and the enclosures make it easy to find almost everything else. Both my son (he's 12) and I agreed we would love to go back again next time we are in Utah. Overall it was a great experience, and I am very happy we were able to go.

Too many hills for those who have physical ailments.
Food and drinks a bit pricey

If you haven t been to a zoo before then this is a great place to start. It s not the best one, but it s the best for Utah, so don t complain.

They have a ton to see like most zoos and a few attractions like their merry-go-round, it s show, train and pony ride etc.

Their food selection is he best and are overall price and wouldn t suggest eating inside the zoo or buying things because on how pricey it is.

Go here to view animals and get food outside the zoo.

Attended the zoo for my grandson's third birthday! He loves the animals in every season and talks about them as if they are all his friends. We had an amazing time mostly to ourselves!

Always have a great time!! The last time we were visiting the polar bears were swimming and having a great time. Got to see the Lions, elephants, red pandas and otters!! Wish we could have gotten a good interaction with the sloths, tigers and giraffes. In all it's always a good visit and my 3 year old loves the animals!! They also did great with his birthday party there!

We love Hogle Zoo. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. The kids love riding the train and the carousel. They have a cute splash pad and plans to open more playground equipment. We love to see all the animals, especially the babies. They have great informational shows.

Great place for families and singles alike. Lots of things to do and see. The bird show was the best part of our visit, so make sure you get there in time to see it.
Only complaint: everything in the zoo costs an arm and a leg, which I suppose you should expect at a place like this. However, the cost for the train? Ridiculously priced for what you get. $2.50 per person for a little 4-5 minute ride. They charge for the carousel as well.

I love this zoo. Great people work there. Ask them any question and they will love to answer it. They genuinely love these animals. The bird shows are always fantastic. The animals here are very diverse in species and biomes needed for them. I love the reptile house or what ever they call it now. The new bear area and Africa section is a very welcoming addition to everything. I am so glad we can now feed the giraffes again! I remember when they allowed us to just feed them if they wanted us to when I was a child. The memories of petting their horns while the long blue tongue wrapped around my hands. I'm so glad my children can experience the same thing but now under the proper regulations.

The hogle zoo is a terrific experience on many fronts and has improved drastically in the past decade. Everything is set up so that people of all ages can enjoy the zoo, with fun activities for small children as well as unique and informative peripherals to exhibits. Given the huge number of animals, it's important to have a layout that makes sense and while there is some room for improvement things that you would expect to be near each other are near each other. It's not difficult to navigate despite it's large size. The exhibits and animals are absolutely wonderful, and you could easily spend the better part of a day at the zoo. The one major downside is that there aren't many employees or volunteers around to ask questions of our to tell you more about the animals; there aren't many people to make your visit a unique experience. Despite this, I would highly recommend this place.

Love the landscaping and views of the animals. The docents are well-informed and helpful. I could sit for hours watching the sea lions, otters, snow leopards, orangutans and meercats. Those are my favorites!

Oh it's a nice zoo, the staff are friendly, management seems to keep putting money into the place. The zoo is clean and the animals there look well taken care of. I'd recommend the place to spend a nice afternoon with the family.

My boyfriend, his son (3) and I had a great day here. Plenty of room to run around and see the animals, Playgrounds for kids, and the October temperature and lack of crowding was a bonus. All of the staff was friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Thanks for a great time.

My wife and I went here for the zoo lights yesterday (12/19/2013). It seemed as though the place was closing down. There were no animals to see whatsoever except some sea lions. Hardly any lights were on anywhere. Many of the trees and buildings were wrapped in Christmas lights but they did not turn them on for some reason? The insides of the buildings with the animals in the glass containers were not lit up so people were using the lights on their phones to try and see the snakes, lizards and a few little fury animals. We were disappointed with the zoo and decided to see what they had in their little cafeteria. $5.50 for a little corn dog or $4.25 for 1 little slice of pizza is a screaming rip off. We just left after this way disgusted with the low quality of the over advertised "zoo lights" experience and went and got a Little Caesars pizza for $5 instead. Save your money!!

Family season pass is the way to go! Fairly inexpensive, considering year round access. Clean zoo with newly added play area and splash pad. I prefer to go more in the winter because the animals are more active and the zoo is less busy.

My toddler had so much fun seeing all the animals and watching the rihno being fed. It's not too big and you can get through everything in a decent amount of time. Very enjoyable and will be visiting again soon!

Clean and the animals looked healthy but the staff was unfriendly and only half of the animals appeared to be at the zoo. The tigers and polar bears were gone as well as a few other smaller species. Not sure why considering it was May when we went. My little boy was very disappointed.

Beautiful day for being outside! Not busy on a Tuesday afternoon, and the animals were all more active than I've seen previously! So neat to see them more than just napping. Very clean, as well. Lots of hand sanitizing stations throughout the zoo. Bathroom by the entrance was well kept. Q lot of the exhibits and food places were closed (probably for the winter I'm guessing) but still enjoyable nonetheless!

It is big enough to see animals but not have to walk miles to see them. The set ups are well to see animals up close and personal with glass. Also the view of the mountains in the bag drop is great too.
