The Hogle Zoo has greatly improved over my lifetime - I remember each building being built except the small animal house, which is still fun to attend. Many exhibits are quite large now such as the Savannah area with giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and lions, the elephant and rhino area, the Rocky seashore with seals, sealions, otters, polar and brown bears, and the Asian animals with Amur tigers, leopards, are others. It is a bit of a walk with hilly terrain, but I enjoy that on a nice day. I also like the new Creek walkway with local discussion of the ecosystem.

So fun for the whole family... My biggest complaint is when they rope off the best viewing spots for their special feedings or shows and make you pay extra to get up close. I already paid to see the animals! Best in early morning and weekdays. Something for everyone... Pack a lunch!!

Like I want to give it higher stars than what I did because me and my daughter had an amazing time together but having been to many zoos prior, this zoo is pretty sad. The animals habitats are pretty small.
The animals did look healthy, but not happy.

Clean and very kid friendly. Pretty decent zoo for a city the size SLC. 2 and under are free, and I recommend packing a lunch. A lot of the food places haven't been open the couple times we've been there.

My family loves coming here! The park is always clean. The Zoo pass is definitely worth the buy! We visited the Zoo about 10 times for the span of the pass and it paid for itself by the second time the whole family went.

was pretty underwhelming. The animals seemed couped up and bored and there was poop all over in the walkway. The glass was pretty filthy. Lots of little kids running around having fun though so there is that.

It's a wonderful place to visit. I'n the winter time they let people in for free and great to takes the kids out on sunny days and just have some fun with family or friends. They have gift shop, places to eat, picnic tables, bathrooms with changing table in for baby's, lots of animals to see very clean environment.

They are making a lot of improvements which is really nice to see. I love the sea lion and seal enclosure. The open Savannah exhibit is refreshing as well. It is a small zoo so we are usually done in under 2 hours but my kids still enjoy it. The Bistro cafe food is excellent.

Been to so many different zoos across the US, but this one has to be one of my favorites! It wasn't too busy, and was small enough that you could easily see everything in an afternoon.

Good field trip or family excursion. They had an art exhibit in the education building that we really enjoyed. Almost always a good view of the Lions, sea lions, seals, often tigers, etc. Bears are harder to see but really cool. I'd say 2 hours is a pretty good amount of time in the winter to see about everything. Carousel is unique and beautiful- costs $2 per kid. They have outdoor seating if you bring your own food or indoor seating if you buy food at the Beastro.

We love the Hogle Zoo and have had a membership for years. Great place and really getting better all the time. We really hope they ll find a better use for all the real estate they have to the East of the entrance sometime soon. It s a lot of space and right now pretty much all it has is half the train loop.

The newer exhibits are stellar the Asian Highlands cats area, Rocky Shores, savanna, Elephant, and lion exhibits.

Great

I love this zoo. Plenty of places to rest when you get tired. Places to leaves strollers. Lots of places to get snacks or lunch. The places where there was a show are clearly posted. The only thing I would add is that the map needs to be updated.

I'm not from Utah, so I'm not biased. I have been to Sandiego zoo, animal kingdom in disney Florida, etc, but Hogle Zoo is so family friendly, I ventured out on freezing Christmas night month. Seeing tiger pacing back and forth purring in evening was so worth my freezing butt. I am going back during the day and definitely Christmas evening zoo.

I really love this place. All the enclosures are well kept, pretty spacious, and all the animals look healthy. The atmosphere is very peaceful. Every time I've gone I've spent the whole day.

It's not huge, but that's alright, especially if you have little ones because you can see most of it between nap times. There's a fun carousel that only cost $2 per person sitting on the ride. Not a lot of interactive activities, but there could be specific days for certain activities that the Zoo offers. The bird show was fun and entertaining. The show is offered at specific days and times, so if you'd like to see it, I'd check out the zoo's website first. Overall, it's a really enjoyable experience! I am definitely going to be visiting again.

Make sure to buy tickets online before you make your way here. Limited admission due to COVID. Dont expect to have the same experience as before this whole covid thing. They should consider dropping prices due to this problem.

Hogle Zoo is as great the first time as the 5th. The animals look well taken care of, the grounds are clean, they offer rentals of strollers, wagons, and electric wheelchairs. My only slight dislike of this zoo, is, of course, the prices. 18.95 to get in for adults, 12.95 for kids, and food prices are a bit high. However, you can bring in snacks of your own, and free water is available at multiple fountains around the park and at the bathrooms. They even have the handy water bottle fillers for free. There's some up and down, so wear comfy shoes that don't rub. If you forget something like sunscreen, its available for purchase, but it's pricey, so try not to forget. Lots of benches to take breaks in and several cafes. Bring cash! The carousel and train ride are 2.50 a person and usually take cash. Overall a good experience every time.

It's a fun place for kids, and I remember loving it as a kid. But now that I'm an adult it just seems a bit bare, and there are not as many exibits as a normal zoo. Heck, I think the aquarium has more than here.
