My kids really enjoyed this visit! The funnest time they have had in a long time. Keep it up!

My kids love the splash pad and play zone. But they're favorite is seeing all the different exhibits that come.
Great place to go with your kids. I think is overprice but, it's ok, kids will love it because we are in a freaking dessert and seeing a monkey or a desperate polar bear walking from one side to the other is worth it. The only thing that irritates me, is that those lazy butt lions are sleeping all dang day. If you want to see some action, make sure to get there first thing in the morning.
We love the zoo! The splash pad, carousel, train, and bird show give variety to the experience.
A nice cheap place to go with the family. It is fun, and there are many animals to see. Not as big as a lot of more popular zoos. But it is Utah. Not LA, or NYC. They usually have events, and fun shows.
Why is it so expensive!? Some of the coolest animals are not outside. It makes it really hard to make your money's worth when there's no enough to see. It's $19 for adult. Its just ridiculous. I guess it's only for the wealthy to visit.
Haven't been here in years since we've been out of state. Shocked to see how much has changed for the better. So many new places have been rebuilt and updated we loved it here!
Had 2 or 3 bus full of kids get there so the line was ridiculous and they only had one person working the entrance. Also stood in line for the train with 2 toddlers just to be told it wasn't gonna be running anymore and it could be 20 minutes or it might not run the rest of the day. But other than that we loved it
Our little Zoo lights was looking good this weekend.
This review is for Hogle Zoo, not sure why Google keeps insisting that these GPS coordinates are for ADT security. Only zoo security here. The zoo itself is nice for its size, fairly standard bunch of animals. Lots of little kids.
They just got meercats! I also love that this zoo hosts animals that are endangered and they breed here. So we get to see some unique animals.
Also, becoming a member is work it. Get a Zoo cup and enjoy .90 refills.
So happy with our visit. Let me start off with saying my family and I think this whole Covid situation is stupid and feel bad for places that have to operate under guidelines. The thing about this place is they did things in a way we didn t feel like things were over done! I honestly LOVE the reservation idea. It makes everything easier to see! It stinks that some of the exhibits Viewing areas were closed, but, you could still see every animal. We loved the rides were still open too and all the staff was amazing! We were so happy that it wasn t a requirement to wear masks through the zoo but only in the gift shop or small mammals building, which, we totally get. You guys really made the best out of a tough situation! We genuinely appreciate you guys and how well taken care of the animals are. Thanks for making our sons mini vacation so perfect!
The zoo was fun from the time I was a toddler to now when I'm 20 years old. They seem to take good care of the animals and treat them right with appropriately sized enclosures, toys, and food for the species.
The hogle zoo is such an awesome place. Very clean, organized, lots of accommodations for elderly, children, and handicap. They are a little expensive if you have a large family. But it's worth going at least once a year I promise you won't be disappointed. I would definitely recommend purchasing a pass. However if you can't afford to do that, make sure to bring water and food/ snacks. The animals are very well taken care of. The staff absolutely love them and are so knowledgeable about them.
I don't typically lube to go to the zoo but they have done allot of remodling and was a great time out with the family
Super fun, we came on a field trip. The only thing is only 2 water fountains were working. So the kids were super thirsty with no way to get water, unless we walked all the way back to the front. Other then that our experience was amazing.
I have been here a few times and I still have not seen all of the zoo. It's a fun family event.
Always improving. We had a great time here, loved the open spaces for the animals, and the price isn't too bad.
Great medium-sized zoo. Lots of new exhibits and much more "animal friendly" approach than most small zoos.
When was a kid it was much better. There was more thing to see.
Staff isnt as friendly around closing time more like rush rush rush out the door
Took 2 of my grandkids to zoo. My grandson was picked to be a bird trainer in the show
It made his day
They thoroughly loved the day
The wind machine with moisture made the day. It was 100 degrees
Very clean, nice zoo. We went mid week and there were very few crowds.
We were with a 10 month and 3 years old baby and they both enjoy it !
I really enjoyed. Very friendly staff, animals very healthy. Everything looks nice and clean
Always have a wonderful time when we spend a day at the zoo. Animals are well cared for, and zoo staff are knowledgeable and helpful, always happy to answer questions and help put visitors.
Once the number of displays grows to encompass more animals, it will definitely be a 5 star zoo. The animals are obviously well cared for. The best care in the world will not, however, prevent natural illnesses. I was impressed with how few were out due to illness. The caregivers were wonderful with the animals and people alike. I would love to come back!
Loved everything about it , didn't get to see everything though because we thought it stayed open until 9:00P.M. !!!
Amazing place and the zoo lights were amazing!
I'd give 5 stars but the girls in the ticket booth need a space heater!
Hogle zoo during a pandemic is one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. It felt like we were the only people there. It was very organized and we were able to walk through and really enjoy the entire zoo. I even saw a pretty decent sized rat running around that I am guessing was wild, but it was still pretty cool nonetheless.
The zoo is always fun for the kids. I am always disappointed by how many no show animals that are ever present. The train is a long wait for a very short boring ride.
So much fun! Lots to see and do. The animals are so cool!
The zoo was good for the amount of animals that were there. Many animals were very active which was fun to see. I think the zoo will be great once they open the African Safari section (still in construction), but it was still worth the visit.
We watched a small show with the elephants that was fascinating. We also thoroughly enjoyed how close and personal you could get with the giraffes.
Wish they had some of these other animals there: zebras, hippos, lions, etc...(standard animals that are always a hig hit).
Cost: $27.25 (2 adults, 1 child, 1 baby)
Time Spent: 2.5 hours
Recommend it if you have the time!
It's meh. Compares to other zoos this is probably the smallest and least informative and has the saddest looking animals I've seen. But at least there's a zoo in SLC.
Who wouldn't like this zoo!!! If you appreciate a good zoo that cares about animal conservation, then you should support the Hogle Zoo.
Awesome place to go. I recommend the memberships they are an awesome value.
Kids love it. It's even fun to go without the kids.
Zoo Brews was the best time I've ever had at the zoo! I recommend getting tickets for the elephant show
Odd environment given the climate right now, but all around a good visit. The lady behind the ticket counter for the train is a beast to work with, and will give you incorrect information about the higher tier membership card, but outside of that it was another good visit to the Zoo.
My family loves the zoo! This zoo is smaller but the perfect size. A lot of people can do the zoo in a few hours but we can spend the whole day here. Most every animal is located conveniently. They have improved so many of the habits over the last 30 years that it is such a different zoo from when I was a kid. My family loves the different decorations for each season. The zoo pass/season pass is very reasonable. We love to visit zoos when we travel but this zoo is still so much fun to come too.
It was fun. The full size lighted animals were amazing.
This is a great zoo for us locals to take our kids and enjoy seeing the animals. I recommend the annual passes and have been a pass holder for a long time now. The train rides and carousel get expensive with lots of kids so the passes that include the unlimited rides works especially great. The beastro food is good although they never have food ready to go it seems. Great overall experience each time.
This is our second time coming, last time I visited was 3 years ago, I am glad they added the playground and splash pad for the kids my daughter and niece had lots of fun on that. I was pretty disappointed that they didn't have polar bears like they did before. Overall we didn't see many animals. Most were asleep, but I understand. The temps were nearing 100 yesterday (July 16) I know better than to buy anything there as EVERYTHING is over priced. Love the misters and the cooling fans. First time on the train, disappointing for sure. Saw 2 zebras, a giraffe, and bunch of donkeys and some gold-mining display down below nothing exciting. Giant bugs were pretty cool. Safe to say we won't be coming every year though.
This is a great place to get out of the city with out children and enjoy some time with your spouse
Great time. Loved the boo lights this year. I always enjoy the zoo lights at Christmas. Fun place to just walk around and see the animals.
Beautiful place.. but could use some places on the hills where you walk with the mist. Like 5 at least!
Always a good time at the zoo. We love the polar bears and otters!
Great zoo located in Utah. They have a good variety of animals who seem to be well kept and active.
A great day. Many animals were being fed as we walked around so we were able to see them quite well. A zoo employee was walking around and told us many interesting animal facts.
Making a profit off the pandemic, selling the one time masks for $2, which companies with integrity seem to be handing out. Way to make a profit!
So many cool animals, I especially like the reptile area. I love how every ticket contributes to the welfare of the animals and supports conservation efforts.
Really nice zoo, the updates they have done over the years have made it very enjoyable. They also have a great selection of animals. Plenty of spots inside to have a picnic but also have cafes in the different sections.
Very well organized with relation to social distancing. Most of the animals were visible and on very good display. We really enjoyed our visit!
We love the zoo and come here frequently. Their newly remodeled stuff is amazing. I do wish they had a little more room, and a bigger variety of animals.....but it is a great zoo none the less..
There have been some great updates to some of the exhibits. We like the new area for elephants and the new area for the polar bear. We love the polar bear!
I tried to sign to the alpha gorilla, telling him his family is beautiful and I'm glad to see him, but I don't think anybody taught him how to communicate.. my sister said he had a fine boott though. Maybe that's why he didn't really respond much...
So not as I remembered it being. So few animals and less interaction with zoo employees.
Hogle zoo is clean, well organized, and actually has an amazing restaurant. Restrooms are modern and clean. The animals are well-cared for and their enclosures are clean. The restaurant though, called the "Beastro," has so many fresh choices to please everyone in the family.
The keepers do a wonderful job keeping the animals happy and their enclosures clean
Great little zoo with many animals, places to eat, shops and places to play
The perfect day activity with little kids even when it's packed! It's been a few years since I visited Hogle Zoo and the new renovations are awesome. The Giraffe, Elephant, and bear exhibits are amazing. Now you get close enough to feed the Giraffes and see how long their tongues are. The kids sat and watched the Sea Lions swim around for a good 30 minutes. We also loved the new playground and splash pad! Even though the parking was completely full, the crowds inside the zoo were totally fine.
This is a great zoo for kids on the weekdays I'm assuming on the weekends is extremely busy take a day off go on a Monday or Tuesday and it's just wonderful.
