Utah's Hogle Zoo Reviews

I happened to have injured myself while visiting this state, but they had wheelchairs for rent. The difficult parts were going up and downhill but still able to go around!

It was funny seeing all the statues with their masks. They refilled our water bottles.

Quite a few attractions. To some people I overheard: no, you can't force animals to come out for cameras... Despite that, many were out.

Buying tickets online for assorted activities as well as all the assorted hand sanitizers were convenient.

This was our first visit; we recommend it for fellow travelers!

Excellent zoo! I vist zoos everywhere I go, around the world. Hogle is a really nice, albeit small zoo, with a nice collection of animals and excellent facilities. For a small zoo they have a really excellent collection of cats, for small Arabian sand cats, to Amur Tigers.

Great zoo...arrive early in the summer otherwise it's hot walking around. So glad the dinosaurs are back in 2015. They need to replace the playground and need to rework the new African exhibit because it's not overly exciting to look at but the rest is awesome. Favorite time: Boo at the Zoo and Zoo Lights...Takes about 3 Hours to see everything.

Awesome zoo....plenty of staff, clean, and happy animals.

It wasn't the best experience due to COVID restrictions. Several exhibits were closed. It was a 100 degree day and people plus animals were drained. Hey, At least it was open.

Love this little zoo! The last Wednesday of the month from November - February is free admission, which is nice for those who can't afford to bring the whole family often. Lots of nice habitats in a lovely mountain setting. The little Tibetan village in "Asian Highlands" is my favorite.

animals were half dead none was moving, enclosures were closed and we only went to 2!!! zoo REFUSED to give a refund after 45 minutes of being there and in that time we seen 1 animal and got ice cream

Hogle zoo was a bit disappointing for the lack of wildlife. I probably won't go again.

After having visited several zoos in my life, I can attest that even though it is a medium size zoo, it has a nice variety of animals. Their bird show is very exciting!!!

Such a fun family activity. We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't as busy which was very nice.

A great place for the family. Nothing like a two year old having at a lion for the first time.

Warmish winter days are the best to visit as the animals aren't as active in the hot summer months

The experience was great. Loved all the animals, the food, the train and the carousel ride. We enjoyed ourselves.

Hogle Zoo is a nice little zoo with very accessible exhibits and a good selection of animals for its size. It's very clean and they are very caring towards their animals.

This is a fun place to spend the day there are a lot of interesting animals and fun exhibits

Sucks that it's not fully open due to covid but yet still a great place to take the kids and for adults

Not many choices from the cafe for food wise and some of the older parts of the park I noticed were still blocked off such as the cheetahs and the other older exhibits and The reptile exhibits Didn't look like they were kept up And the zoo Look like they care more about money than the animals they have

Great collection of animals and activities for all ages. I forget sometimes that zoos are fun. We came here with the boys and one of their friends and we all had a blast!

Well done loved the exhibits. The red Panda was my fav.

This is a cute little zoo! They have beautiful animals and a fun train ride and carousel.

The staff were very helpful and wanted to make sure you had a great experience. Especially when the tigers are playing hide and seek, so you can't spot them easily.

It can get warm so if you are a tourist like me, make sure to bring water and sunscreen.

First time back since remodel. Exhibits are sooo much better and more natural feeling. Don't miss the bird show. They swoop right above your head and is very cool.

Awesome. Too is clean, educational features are fun, very helpful staff throughout the zoo.
Animals look content and cared for. A bit more expensive than I thought, but you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a bit more, if it means the animals get treated well. Great experience for the whole family; young & old. Shade & misters make it pleasant for visitors too. Also, cool gift shop.
It would be nice if there was an underground passage from the one parking lot across the main road. Shuttle busses could help too, if possible sometime in the future. Overall, a wonderful place to spend the day.

The shows were informative and interactive. It was fun to see so many volunteers helping teach about the animals. They were all knowledgeable and polite. They encouraged little ones to touch the displays. The zoo was designed well so that you could easily find your way to the next exhibit. We were only able to spend a morning there but we would look forward to visiting it again soon.

Nice I liked the stuff they had but need 2 catch up on my walking LOL

The enclosures for some of the animals are kind of very small, the reptile house is supposed to be quiet but they don't enforce that in any way in that echoing building with screaming children, and I consider that neglect to the nervous and nocturnal animals. It's very sad.

Decent zoo if that's your thing they've made great improvements as of late

In general, it's a nice place to visit with kids. Personally, Zoos make me sad though. Animals in small enclosures... and Hogle Zoo is not big to begin with.

Overcharged prices and hardly anything to do and watch , disappointing never going back

Great animals, indoor animal glass could be cleaner but overall good experience.

We went with a school group and were fortunate to catch a couple of the animal exhibitions. The trainers made our day.

Attended the zoo brew which was awesome. Very fun to see the animals at night when it is not 100 degrees plus! Definitely recommend!

Hogle zoo has gotten so much more cleaner and the animals seem to ne getting raken care of better.

The Boo Lights were VERY beautiful and the staff was so sweet and did such a cute job!

They require masks to be with in building, but the exhibits are as open as always. Great for a walk and some great photos

Amazing event, perfect day, very informative keepers!!!!

A little expensive but great for the kids my grandson absolutely loves it there. It's better to bring your own food and stroller for the younger kids. The train is separate and you have to purchase the tickets at the welcome center

The bears were so active and amazing to watch. Staff is friendly. Make sure to get a reservation to get in. COVID19 regulations closely followed

Zoo Brew was a blast! Wish it was just a little longer to see a bit more, but will plan our route better next time. We had a shop outing, and it was nice adult fun!

No drinking fountains work, interactive buttons don't work, nothing works.

ZooLights is a must-see and a great place for a date.

I've always loved the hogle zoo I love seeing all the animals and being able to walk around the park is very cool!!!

We went for zoolights and it was very fun for the kids. We did however notice that some of the lights were out. Which is just a tad disappointing when that is the bulk of what you went for and there isn't much else to do in the winter at night in the zoo. Other than this is was a nice trip.

Prices are very high. Take your own water bottle to refill.

We enjoyed our trip. It wasn't too crowded, so we enjoyed being able to spend more time at each exhibit and not worry add much about getting in the way.
There are multiple view points for animals. You can bring in food and there are picnic tables and benches around. The bathrooms were clean.
There aren't very many completely indoor areas. It was pretty chilly when we came. Check the weather beforehand and come prepared.

My family and I really enjoy visiting the zoo. They are making great and beautiful improvments for the enjoyment and health of the animals they have. Great place to visit.

Great place to go. The animals are amazing, the paths are easy to walk on, and the play area/water park is always a hit with the kids in the summer.

I was raped by an elephant. I found 20 dollars though. Would recommend.

Always a great experience at the Hogle Zoo. The best time to visit is spring and fall when the animals are most active.

Had a great time with my kids and grandkids. Wish it weren't so pricey to get in though.

We have a season pass here we go several times a year it's very well kept and the perfect size so you can see everything in a few hours.

Beautiful zoo. Exceptional enclosures for both the animals & the viewers. We enjoyed our visit very much.

I've enjoyed Zoo Lights in previous years, but they added some beautiful almost sculpture-like pieces this year that made it even better. If you have enjoyed this type of event previously, then definitely check it out this year. There are probably a dozen more animals besides the ones I took pictures of.

Fun place to take the family. They have a cheap train ride that's also fun. Food is good but a little pricy. We got a season pass last year.

Cheaper to eat than I expected. Water refill stations were nice.

I have come here for years and always enjoyed the zoo. We went last week just a couple hours before closing and almost had the place to ourselves! There were still plenty of animals out and the staff was SO friendly and kind. We are now annual members!

Zoo was great, its a small zoo so we were able to walk the entire zoo and ride the train and the marry go round twice, in just over 2 hours. This was probably due to the lack of shows due to covid, but the zoo is very clean and the staff around the park is great.

It's a zoo. Nothing to extraordinary, but if you like animals, it is a great place to spend a day.
