Beefeater Dave is the man! He gave the guided tour and was the perfect guide. He even gave a shoutout to NJ residents which is what earned him the fifth and final star because his lousy jokes initially had me giving 4 stars :-) Once the guided tour ended we roamed around on our own.

Cue for crown jewles was very long. Turns out if you walk around the side to where the toilets are you can just walk through the exit of that building and see the jewles without cueing.... shhh keep it a secret.

Brilliant to visit a Castle with over 1000 years of History including the Famous Krays kept in the Tower as Prisoners. Remember it's a Castle and not a Tower! Not really suitable for kids younger less than 10 years old! (They find it a bit boring)...

It was crowded, the weather was moody, it is too much to see for a family with a 6-year old.
I visited it 9 years ago and I loved the Beefeater tour! This time we got a guide which every now and again shouted at us and mockingly called us, the tourists, "stupid". I didn't like that at all! The guide has also cut short the tour with 15 minutes!!! I wanted a full hour tour, as advertised!
The beheading remembrance place is now a modern glass circle with a glass pillow in the centre. It somehow does not fit!
I liked the crown jewelries, the ravens, which got really close to us, the weapons and armours.
We went there for my husband, but the child suffered through the visit. We should have gone to a nice park and let the child play at will!

So crowded!!! We went on a Tuesday morning around 10a and it was packed. We attempted to go on a tour with one of the tour guards, but there was probably a group of a 100+ trying to listen to one man who did not have any sort of microphone. We opted to pay for the audiotour instead. Not as well done as some of the other tours we've been on during our trip to the UK. I was really excited to see the Tower, but can't claim that I'd stringly recommend it to anyone else. You can probably find something else not as crowded and more affordable.

Worth the money! Do the included Yeoman tour first when you arrive. You must not miss it! Be sure and see the crown jewels and the white tower. The cafe has a good selection for lunch. Enjoyed it all immensely.

lots of historic values, if you're into English history... make the journey in the early morning, as you will have more time to explore the Tower... verdict: always a visiting spot when vacay here

I went on a busy day so there were lots of people nudging me. When waiting to see the crown jewels one of the members of staff was really rude to a lady in front of me who wanted to take a photo with her kids. It only takes a couple of seconds to take a photo and he said "this is the reason why theres such a big queue" but that isnt the case, theres a big queue because it is a tourist attraction in London and there were a lot of people on a busy day.

The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. The castle was used as a prison from 1100 (Ranulf Flambard) until 1952 (Kray twins),[3] although that was not its primary purpose. A grand palace early in its history, it served as a royal residence. As a whole, the Tower is a complex of several buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat. There were several phases of expansion, mainly under Kings Richard I, Henry III, and Edward I in the 12th and 13th centuries. The general layout established by the late 13th century remains despite later activity on the site.

I expected to have a day of executions, hangings, stretching, drawing and quartering. Apparently that's not done anymore instead the tower is now open to the public for tours and generally to check it out. The crown jewels are in there. Apparently worth a lot.
In all seriousness, the tower of London is a true marvel of history and it's very easy to imagine you have time travelled back 300 years or more.

What a big castle and museum. Admission tickets are a little bit pricey. NO camera allowed! :(

Display pictures, video, objects of the old history. If you are interested in the history, definitely check it out.

Since it is a tourists attraction spot, it gets crowded.

There is a cafe outside Tower of London in case you need to grab a bite or drink. They do have seating area. FYI, they charge a little bit more if you dine in.

We had a great day, just ahead of the impressive thunderstorms with hail! Yeoman Dave did a great job at giving us the overview of the tower, in spite of the large group. My third or fourth time here and you see new things all the time. The cafe was very peaceful and the Cumberland sausage with apple chutney was inexpensive and wonderful. Crowds were large, but everyone moved well through the multitude of displays. Overall a very historic and well preserved British national treasure!

e got a guided tour (I think his name was Kevin?) and it was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable, funny, interesting. and keen to take questions from the group.

The Tower of London grounds are truly historic, and you could easily spend an entire day wandering the grounds and reading about all of the artefacts and history here.

Make sure you do a tour with a Beefeater. Outstanding. We ended up spending a lot more time there than expected. Plan for 3-4 hrs - and even then, there may be some things that you don t get to. Hint: if you want to see the Crown Jewels, get there early and go there first. Long lines are common.

It was an excellent tour, and out tour guide was so funny i was glad he was able to keep the attention of the crowd so well. There's so much to unpack there that i could've spent half the day there! The gift shop is kinda expensive as are the tickets but the experience is pretty worth it!

Its magic for me is always there and as a central Londoner I always appreciate the atmosphere of where my forefathers trod.
Long may it continue to give others the pleasure which I have (and still do) enjoy.

This was a wonderful historical site with excellent amenities. The buildings are well maintained and the information provided at each exhibit is thorough and interesting. The cafe has affordable food and drink. Be prepared for stairs, lots of stairs. The Crown Jewels exhibition is amazing! And, on a clear, sunny day, there are stunning views both within the Tower walls and out in to the city from the various windows and battlements. So, wear good shoes, and leave yourself at least 3 hours to see everything at the site.

Good things, but a little disappointed.

Good things, but a little disappointed.
For this price, I was expected better than that.
There are mainly 2 parts in the visit, the jewels and the armoury.
The jewels part is very interesting, but it's a shame there is no more explanation about all the history and the chronology of the monarchy.
The armoury part is classic armoury exhibition.

Not enough history about the past and what happened. it's a shame.

Solid experience, armoury was quite packed with things to see. Ravens just wandering is a nice touch. Royal mint is neat. Beefeaters guided tours sound great if you have the time. Crown jewels are popular, but just meh as you are on a moving walkway. Didn't realize this was an icon of London, with quite some history.
