I expected to have a day of executions, hangings, stretching, drawing and quartering. Apparently that's not done anymore instead the tower is now open to the public for tours and generally to check it out. The crown jewels are in there. Apparently worth a lot.
In all seriousness, the tower of London is a true marvel of history and it's very easy to imagine you have time travelled back 300 years or more.
