So much history. Give it a full day to do it justice.
Great exhibits and great tour guides. Fantastic historical site. Well worth the admission fee
It's the Tower of London... It positively drips history... It is beautiful... Haunting... It would take days to truly experience... But whatever time one can spend here is absolutely with it.
Intresting place, its huge in size you need 3-4 hours to enjoy it completely. Don t forget to check relica of koh-hi-noor diamond there.
love this place easily spend the whole day there with lots to see and lots to learn.. and of course the jewel in the crown in the crown jewels themselves! go into Martins tower to see the old crown jewels too.
Voew the crown jewels and follow this building's 900 year history
I wish the Buckingham Palace to become a nice museum like this one.
Not too crowded on a chilly January afternoon. Lots to see and do. Long queue for the Crown Jewels (come early to avoid that) but well worth the wait. Informative displays. Audio guides available, but I don't know how good they are. Not as More
The armoury and crown jewels were well worth a look, brilliant day out for the whole family
Great place to visit in London! An absolute must for all who enjoy history and culture.
Brimming with history and a true must see attraction in the nations capital. We followed one of the free Yeoman Warders Tours led by a chap called Shady who did a splendid job of engaging the crowd with his masterful array of dad jokes and brought great depth of knowledge to highlight the historical relevance of the structures around the site!
950 years of history you can see, touch and feel. A not to missed place to experience alone or in family. Quiet and breathtaking contract to be in this secular place and view the most modern building like the Shard. You will not be disappointed.
A historic site with much to see. Be aware the lines for the crown jewels can get very long. Also, if you want a guided tour, try to arrive near opening time as the tour groups get exceptionally large fairly quickly.
Loved our visit to the Tower of London. So much history in one spot. Loved that we could walk around and view the entire place at our own pace. Would definitely recommend this as a must see to everyone
Prefect time to go. No lines. Our tour guide, Fiona, was exceptional!
A visit is a fantastic way to learn about our history.
Nice historic spot....you can enjoy your drink here while simple sun seats
Simply loved it - the friendliest staff & just so steeped in history
This location is full of history. Lots of things to see from way back in time. Very busy with tourists, however very enjoyable.
Impressive place. One of the richest locations in London to learn about the British history and also to gaze the unic crown jewelry!
Wow! Without doubt, one of the best places I've been to in my life. The history just leaps from every surface. You can't not be caught up in the nostalgia and information. Just a breathtaking place to visit and the Yeoman information tour (soldier's not tour guides ) are very very funny. Who thought learning was THIS much fun?!?? Myself; Wife and 2 kids (11 & 6yr old girls) all loved it. Over 4hrs there and could have spent more time, but our feet got the better of us. A MUST do for anyone visiting the city of London.
What an amazing place the Crown Jewels where just incredible
What an experience. Loved it. Great to see so many people there. Atmosphere is great. Staff are very helpful and very friendly.
Definitely worth it to visit the Tower of London. It is historical and very British. The Yeoman Warden guides are very informative and entertaining. And don't miss the Crowned Jewels which are spectacular! (strictly no photos allowed in that section). We had a day spent well in there, highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant place to visit. The yeoman warder tour was absolutely fantastic the best bit of the day. It does involve a lot of walking so if your not physically fit I wouldn't recommend it.
Interesting for history take kids when older some waiting around for stuff like crown jewels and imprisonment tower plan to spend few hours there
A must visit in London, but needs a couple of hours to see everything
London brige is my favourite attraction in London as it has a great simple story behind and is not crowded.. I have been here for 3 hours and had ebough time to read everything and explore all the rooms..
Built as a fort almost a thousand years ago, then turned inside out to become a prison for traitors, spies, and the Kray twins.
Still used as a prison but only for ravens, and anyone caught slowing down London by standing on the left hand side of an escalator.
This was my most anticipated stop while in London. I have forever been fascinated with King Henry the VIII and his revolving door of wives. Being Catholic and having attended a school named for Thomas More I was keen to see where he spent the remainder of his life. The castle is awe inspiring as it rises above the Thames. The tickets are a bit pricy but worth the cost if you plan to spend a full day. You should also consider the packages if you think you will have time. I picked up the audio tour a definite must when visiting.
Great atmosphere and the staff are very professional. You can spend easily half day here.
Great amount of history and culture stored within the walls of this castle in Central London. A must see if you are planning on visiting sites when traveling in London. Great value. Plan around 3 hours if you want to see the castle fully, add a couple more if willing to wait in all the lines.
A brilliant place to visit but you need to arrive early in the day if you want to avoid a huge queue for the Crown Jewels
A brilliant place to visit. I visited with my children and even they came away learning something from our trip. We saw the crown jewels and even my youngest was fascinated by it all. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. We also stopped and watched the jester who was very funny.
Very interesting place, very curious history. Nice crows! Too bad many sections were closed.
Looks interesting from the outside. I had no chance to visit inside.
Absolutely amazing staff so good warden Steve was great.
This is a MUST visit if you come to London. I rarely ever give any place a 5 star review, but trust me, you'll see why.
You will need some comfortable shoes and and at least 4 hours to tour it properly. The Yeomen Warders offer a free information tour that lasts about an hour. You WANT to take advantage of this. These men are extremely knowledgeable and actually live on the Tower grounds. You'll get to see where they live. They have dedicated their lives to the Towers of London.
It would not be a bad idea to plan a entire day to tour it and the Tower Bridge on the same day. (within walking distance of each other)
They deserve at least this much time.
These two attractions were by far the highlights of our London trip.
What more can you say... english heritage at its best
Amazing day had a lovely tour and walk around the Tower of London and then the food festival after such an amazing day with the family and weather was just beautiful
What a history and always great to hear the Yeomen Warder schtick!
Take one of three free tours by the Yeomen, they make it really funny. Plan at least three hours for your visit. And get one of the very tasty fish&chips next to the ticket office after your visit and take the short walk down to the river to enjoy your snack. There is plenty of sitting possibilities.
This Castle is on the bank of river Thames the central vein of London. A very busy place specially in summer. There is a very good view of London bridge tower bridge and the tall buildings around central London. Inside the castle it is not that attractive as other places in London.
Really enjoyed it. Best time to go is really early because there's less people. I started at 9 and finished at 12 and it was winter so less crowds and started early so the crowds didn't start until 12. I've heard it's really busy in summer and even the audio guides talk about lines. I didn't have to stay in any lines because it wasn't that busy. I bought my ticket online because it's cheaper than paying on site by 5 pounds. Which you can use to get an audio guide. Definitely recommend you to get one of those because it helps you understand every place you visit within the tower. I love history a lot, which is why I gave this tour 5 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed this tour.
It was not busy at all. The Yomen were so good with the kids and we had a wonderful day. If you take National Rail you can get 2 for 1 tickets.
Pretty good pictures' recommend going as soon as it opens and doing the queens jewelry first because that gets a huge line. Other then that if you go early you should be done in 2 hours, only if you go early.
Never knew there was so much see well worth the money.
We very much enjoyed the self guided audio tour. Plus the line to the Crown Jewel moves fast enough too... we could have spend a full day to cover it all. We'll be back.
View the jewels and gold utensils. Awesome collection
Ok "attraction". The most interesting display in Tower of London is the crown jewels. Everything else is pretty useless. Unless you are very interested in swords, armors, guns.. etc you will not need more than 1 hour to tour this.
Torture room is just a room with some informative boards there. No signs of actual torturing devices in the room. You might as well read the information on the internet.
Calling all history buffs (war of the roses), and Tudor Dynasty lovers! This location is a must see. Words can t describe being able to see and touch a place that is steeped in so much rich history! The Crown Jewels was also an amazing exhibit to see! There are a lot of steps and some tight places. People in wheel chairs can stay on the main grounds, and see the jewels. If you have strollers I would take turns, because it could be hard to navigate some of the small places like Sir Walter Raleigh s place.
We had a wonderful visit here, and chose to explore on our own rather than in a guided tour. Stunning location, with good signage and interesting exhibits. We loved the interactive games (especially dressing Henry VIII in his armour) and the wooden horses. Drifting past the crown jewels on the conveyor belt was a delight. The cafe was a bit of a 'meh', good but nothing special. Standing at Traitors Gate and hearing the ravens croak is a memory that will last.
Must visit the crown jewels here. Kohinur diamond is kept here.
I've visited before and done the tour, which is excellent. It was sometimes difficult to hear our guide, as the group was large and the guide had to keep turning his head while talking.
Good day out a bit on the pricey side. Best to book on line day or so before.
Great historic place I was there for dinner and to see ceremony of the keys but no pictures of that though its not really aloud
Amazing historic site in a hustling area near Tower Bridge. Beauty and culture everywhere you look. Funny thing is that when I think of "tower" I think of much taller structures. Of course, "back in the day" this structure certainly towered over most every other, so I get it. It's nice just to walk around the area and take it all in. Enjoy!
Incredibly amazing! A must if you are visiting London
Definitely a must to visit in London, take your time, is huge in the inside!!
Tip: Buy your tickets online, they are like 5 pounds cheaper than in the place
Awesome place to visit, lots more buildings than just the tower and a huge amount of stuff to see. Get there early and see the jewels first (doesn t take long) then take your time wandering round the rest of the place, food and drink were pricey but not extortionate, and there are pretty good fish and chips nearby :0)
Obviously, this is a great construction. The glory of Britain is well presented here. Great exhibitions. The walls could tell us lot of stories about the past. There are guided tours (which I prefer to avoid). Tourist friendly. Please don't forget - despite of all the richness, the standard of living of the kings who leaved in this place, was not the same as the one we are used to nowadays. They had gold, but they didn't have toilets :-)
We very much enjoyed this experience. We went mid-morning and it was busy, but not terribly so. We started our visit with one of the Yeoman guards, Clive, who did a wonderful job explaining the history of the tower, and made it very entertaining. I was fascinated with the history of the location, I would definitely encourage anyone going to participate in one of the guided tours. It's about an hour and doesn't cost extra, you just meet where they tell you to go, I think they start on the hour, or maybe every 30 mins. We walked for a while after the tour, and still didn't see everything before becoming too tired to continue. My 2 yr old had a meltdown at one point and one of the other Yeoman walking around stopped to talk to her and got her to calm down, they're very nice people. The only thing that would prevent me from returning in the future would be the price, it was a bit high buy the ticket.
A great experience for those of all ages. Reenactments to bring the tour to life. Edward 1 history that we might be able to relate to from 'Braveheart'. The crown jewels. The audio guide was not incredibly valuable though.
This place is huge! Lots of history. Very informative setup and exhibits. Got busy in the afternoon, morning was better. Could easily spend a few hours or more here especially if you read all the displays. Little kids may get bored after a while but should be entertained for a bit. Enjoyed our visit here.
Doesn't worth to spend lot of time to visit it. There are better places to visit in London instead Tower of London! Try Kew Garden.
Didnt get to tour, but was a grest spot for photos.
After visiting, I couldn't believe that place was still standing after all the years its been there. There is a feeling I cannot explain while standing at the top of the tower (castle). After returning to the states I immediately divulged myself into the history books about this magnificent fortress.
Fun historic interesting and way bigger than I expected. Walk the walls. See the ravens.
A great place to know the history of the Queens and Kings of Britain
Only if UK citizens can visit this site without paying a fee, since this is our history and we deserve to see it.
So much to see. Give yourself time and take the tour with the Beefeater. Great experience.
Must see if visiting London needs a whole day to see it all. Even the crown jewels are worth seeing
Massive amount of history here. The tours are very informative and personable. Great insight into British culture and mindset.
Be there as early as possible so that you can make the most out of your visit as the place is huge and lots to see
Definitely a must see when coming to visit London. Lots of rich history, you get to see beefeaters walking around and they are very approachable if you have questions, the Crown Jewels are spectacular to see and the inside of the tower does a good job catering to my two school age children and makes it easy for them to understand about the history of the place.
Was a good place to learn some of the monarchical history of England
It's a medieval village in the middle of London, what's not to love? Don't be put off by long queues to see the crown jewels, it moves faster than you'd think.
