Good place to visit but need to spend some time to see everything.
A nice bit of history, Not so good for energetic children.
Great experience with a history of about 1000 years when the times were gory and also a long story of imprisonment and killing. The various museums offer a glimpse into the era gone by. The Ravens there have a story about themselves. Lots of school kids visit. Offer a glimpse of the Tower bridge and river Thames.
This tower bridge is a great, very unique..you better take a picture at night or in the morning..beautifull...
One of the most fascinating castles that I've ever patronized. Despite its' name being the "Tower" of London, this gem is actually comprised of several different towers. It's hard to believe that this once served as a prison ward until 1952. The architecture is striking from the inside out. There are three separate wards, all of which hold their own separate towers and the White Tower being the most notable.
As you take your journey through the Towers, you'll get to witness what imprisonment was like and learn about Tower executions. I loved being able to walk up to the different towers and to see what the living conditions were like. You'll definitely be walking A LOT, so make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes and clothing.
Perhaps the most coveted part of the Tower is seeing the Crown Jewels; the most powerful symbols of the British Monarchy. Some of the jewels include the royal crowns, swords, and rings amongst several other prized possessions. Pictures of the Crown Jewels are not permitted, and the lines to view them can be astronomical. However, no visit to the Tower can be complete without seeing these beauties in person. The way that they shine is unbelievable. You have to see it with your own two eyes.
Make no mistake; seeing the Crown Jewels IS the main reason to visit the Tower. And, a visit to the Tower of London is all worth while when visiting London.
The Beefeater guides are amazing - fact filled, witty, funny and cheeky. We didn't queue to see the crown jewels and no regrets because the queues were endless and there is so much else to see.
This was a great experience for anyone who is curious about London's past. It was beautiful and I gained a much better perspective.
The actors walking around help to take the mind back in time. I would definitely recommend.
One of the most fascinating places i have ever been to!
Fascinating piece of history, highly recommend for the whole family.
Neat place but NOT appropriate for small children
We found the Tower of London fascinating -- from the history to the architecture to the tour by the "Beefeaters". I can't really add anything to the previous reviews EXCEPT a small warning. We brought two smallish children (< 4 years) there, which was a mistake. Not only was there very little to hold their interest, but so much of the Tower is twisty staircases and narrow passageways, basically useless for strollers. If you do bring kids in strollers, you'll end up either doing what my wife and I did - taking turns sitting outside with the kids while the other goes through the various towers and exhibits - or missing the best parts entirely
Great history, great castle, Yeoman Warders friendly to chat to.
Brilliant! Went to watch the lighting of the remembrance torches in the most. So pleased I was able to go.
24.70 Pounds for an entry ticket is little bit steep. Inside there are a lot of things to see and there is not really any time restriction so you can spend there whole day enjoying the weather. I saw people sunbathing there. Definitely a place worth visiting if you want to learn England's history or visiting London for a weekend.
A talk/brief/update on the RBL followed by lunch then optional guided tour of the Tower. A privilege to have been asked to attend. Well done RBL!
A must do in London and join the half hourly complimentary tour by the Yeomen Warders. Recommended day itinerary - Borough Market for late breakfast, slow walk along London Bridge to Tower Bridge and then head to Tower of London. Should take you from 11am till about 4pm.
Another great tourist attraction for the whole family to enjoy. Alot to see and great history
Amazing grounds to walk through to see the history and the architecture.
Want to know to the dark side of British Monarchy. Tower of London is a must see.
Very interesting and worth the money. And the staff was very polite and helpful
Fantastic day out for all the family, be sure to book online and combine with one of the other attractions for awesome value
The crown jewelry is really nice to view... Had good luck that the queue was short and the weather was great.. Would be great to have a foto opportunity - maybe just a Photoshop one.. Great to have a pic with the crown.. . The mideval castle is really nice and relaxing - especially when the weather is good
Very historic place, clam & relaxing to go around. And they do have nice Cafe within the Tower that you can relax and take a break.
Great attraction with lots to see at reasonable price.
Went to see the new installation, beyond the deepening shadows, as always fantastic
Brilliant day out kids were loving the history and experience.
Been here about 5 times already -mainly as a tour guide for visiting family and friends. But always a good experience
Interesting place to visit! Fun day out with the family.
1000 years old castle in the heart of London near the river. A lot of Medieval History!
This is a must see when visiting London. The Crown Jewels alone is worth a look, it s breathtaking. The castle/fortress/prison itself it a step back in history and well preserved. The information around is easily displayed and readable and there is some great picture opportunities for tower bridge.
Lots of history to learn about. The white tower was the most fascinating. The torture chamber was a let down but we still had a great day out. Lots to see and plenty of places to take some amazing photos.
Yeah, it's touristy, but it is a must see. Try for a time where there are less crowds especially if you want great photos. Plan a half day here. The fare at the restaurant is good and they serve beer and wine. Somewhat pricey overall, but hey, it's London. Convenient to the T or local and tour bus lines.
If love history then there's no place ...beefier... lol...
I am little bit surprised that the Tower from time to time pops up in the lists of the most overrated tourits sites in London. On the contrary, I think it's worthwhile to see. It's an huge area to explore and eventhough it's really crowded sometimes, you have to see the crown jewels.
You can buy the tickets for the entrance and the audio guide in advance on the website of the Tower and print them at home, so you avoid the cues at the entrance.
I haven't tried the food in the restaurant inside the tower area, but it was cosy and nice and the prices were surprisingly moderated for beeing in a tourist site and in London.
By far, one of the must see things in London. This was our first stop on our trip to London with our 9 year old daughter, and she loved it as much as we did. When we went, there was zero wait to see the crown jewels (probably due to being mid March and COVID-19).
COME SEE FOR SURE!!!
Excellent history place. You can see the place where the king lived in 1800, armours, and the crown yewels.

This place is a must
Love the Beefeaters... They are entertaining and informative... Crown jewels??? So awesome
This place is a must visit and try to find a good guide who can explain you around the place. Do keep time in your hand while you are at this place. We spend two hours understanding about the rich history and the expensive stuff which is kept in the palace. The entry fees is bit expensive but if you spend an hour or two. You will find facts to enjoy.
Good historic place... One gets lost into the aura surrounding the place
Worth taking the Tour with a Beefeater. Very historical. Queues very long for seeing Queens jewels about over hr and a half so did not go in this time. Chapel is very atmospheric.
Interesting place to visit. It's a shame so little of it's authenticity has been kept preserved.
Highly overated place..Nothing interesting apart from kohinoor diamond and other crowns.....ticket price is more for the experience......avoid walking tour inside castle (provided freely) if u r not english but serious patriot of your own country....
A must see place for everyone who visits London. Yeoman tour is very interesting and informative and should not be missed.
This historic place is a must for any trip to London! It's incredible to walk the same paths and enter the same castle towers that have seen war, celebration, and everyday life. The visit to the crown jewels is an absolute must too. It is breathtaking seeing the jewels from the vault.
Incredible place to visit. Make sure you set aside a number of hours to fully experience everything it has to offer
Listen to the amazing Beefeater tour guides. Fun and history filled day. Take your time. Do the Crown Jewels twice
Beautiful bridge built by British in 1886 ! Well maintained
Beautiful place with alot of history. Would recommend the Ravens and the White Tower. I would say it might be a bit boring for children unless you see a performance.
So much history. Iconic landmark. A must see once in your life
I have visited this place multiple times, its always a great place to visit when in London, lots of history, never boring!
Great experience. Wait in the from for the free walking tour from one of the Yeoman Wanderers (Beefeaters)
I was on a tour of the castle and while me and my friend were recording a video for a youtube channel I have CLEAR evidence that one of the yeoman reached out and shoved me out of the way when I was walking trying to catch up with my group because I was losing our place while we were recording. You can also see in the video that their were other people in his way and he did nothing to get them out of the way. Had he not reached out to shove me we would have never made contact in fact I was headed to the right anyway to catch up with my group. I was going to move out of his way but he took it too far by pushing me. I have no problem emailing the video.
Wow! Took a day trip to London prebooked tickets before hand for time saving which is always recommended. Joined the tour which seems to run every hour on the hour. The tour takes about an hour. It s worth doing the tour to get some meaningful insight in to the history then take an unguided look around after.
Beautiful views over the Thames, Tower Bridge and the Shard
Although the day was icy cold our guide Chris gave us a short brief humourous guide to the historical evets which happend inside and around the Tower of London. We spent about 3 hours... Not enough time to look and read everything but long enough to get a decent idea.
If you have limited time do the intro tour, which gets you into the chapel, the see the crown jewels exhibition and then visit the White Tower.
Apart from the pricy tickets definitely worth it especially if you don't plan on going again.
Live the story behind the beefeaters!!
Went to the ceremony of the keys and it was great to be able to see this historic event.
Lovely day but queue was too long await to see the crown jewels.
Excellent place for English history. The Beefeaters were happy for photos to be taken with them. Only down side was no photos of the crown jewels.
Great place to visit, well worth it, will definitely go again
Great place to visit with your friends or family.
We had a great day out at the tower of London. One piece of advice, make sure the crown iz there before you queue for as we did atleast a hour. Also of your not from London make sure you know which tube lines are closed on the weekends for maintenance as this caused us a nightmare.
The Tower of London - what's not to like.
Allow plenty of time - so much to take in.
and refreshments. Plenty of toilets. Guided
tours last about 50 mins. See website for
best value tickets. Wonderful staff.
Worth the visit, free tour is very interesting and the castle is impressive. Careful they all of you wish to donate and it's easy to say yes without meaning to if you're not paying attention.
Great experience. Although some areas are closed due to the pandemic, still a lot to see and experience. Be prepared to walk up quite a few stairs to see all the open sections. Easily spent a few hours here.
Amazing history. There is so much to see, could easily spend the whole day there. A must see is the graffito in the Beauchamp Tower from prisoners in the 16th and 17th century.
A London landmark that is a must see for any tourist. Get the audio guide device and arrive 20 minutes BEFORE OPENING if you want to be able to see the Crown Jewels without any wait or crowds.
If you are a even casual history enthusiast this has to be a stop on any London visit. Great tour provided by the Yeoman Warders. Lots of names and events read about in the history books took place here, or the people where jailed and buried here...
A spectacular place! Crown Jewels were amazing, although the Imperial State Crown had been removed for the State Opening of Parliament. We'll be back to see it!
Nice place of course and of course in the middle of London, in 21st century there are no toilets provided...
A must go when in London. Lose yourself in the area, discover more about the British history and take a look on the royal jewels
Great place to visit! Loved the guided tour with the beefeater (not named Andy), and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the mint and watching Jubilee the Raven ham about for photos.
Lots of fun, go on a slow day. Crown Jewels was cool to see but the line was way too long
Went on the organised tour and it was very informative
Surprisingly interesting monument, do not miss the crown jewels and if you'd like less people, visit around 3-4pm,most of the people are gone by then and by the time they close down, you can catch quite and impressive sundown over the river Thames
Nicely designed tours of a beautiful English castle.
A majestic location steeped in history, replete with interesting sights and exhibits for visitors of all ages. Of particular note are the regal Crown Jewels (photography not permitted), and don't miss out on an entertaining tour from a Yeoman Guard. There are live performances at the Salt Tower, multiple places to eat and drink, and keep an eye out for the Tower Ravens keeping a keen eye out for scraps!
Great to see such a valuable piece of history, British history.
Excellent and the tour with the beefeater was brilliant
