Excellent visit. Beefeater guide was knowledgeable, interesting and hilarious. Must see when in London
One of my favourite place in central London. A fortress, prison, historical palace. Close your eyes and feel the energy around. Past and plresent meet up and will give you the most remarkable experience.
Scenic view of the Tower Bridge from the Tower of London. A good place for a casual walk and sight seeing...
I didn t know what to expect, but this historic site was really fun to visit. I had plenty of time to see everything and learned a lot too. Definitely worth the time and money.
Beautiful builing. We didnt go inside tho as a ticket costs about 35 pounds...
Great history, magnificent buildings, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable
The only downside is that it is not very accessible. The crown jewels exhibit is accessible and is worth the price of admission.
A slice of history
Long day out
Well worth it
Must see when you visit London. Please ensure you have at least 3 hours to enjoy whole place.
Historical London landmark. An opportunity to see what ancestors saw and experienced during previous royal reigns. Jewels and crowns are exhibited. Go early or late. Late tours might experience the ceremonial locking of the tower.
Excellent day out lots to see good value
Lots of steps though so not suitable for all Went on beefeater tour it was excellent
Wow amazing story. The guide was so funny and entertainning.
Had a Great day at the Tower of London,
The Yeoman warder who was our guide had us all in stitches laughing as he was taking the mickey out of the Americans for not having much history but the Americans took it light heartedly, there is so much to see at the Tower I can't wait to go back there
I love IT
Its so beautiful
Absolutely brilliant, fantastic place to visit, fully recommend it,
This place makes for a really nice day out, there are a lot more buildings than I would of expected. The only thing we didn't do was visit the crown jewels as it had a really long queue (would of taken well over an hour) All in all a great experience!
The Armory is well worth a look. Recommend you get there as early as possible to beat the crowds. The entry charge is a little pricey, but you can't visit the UK without seeing the Tower of London. Australians can use their current Seniors and Pension Cards for discounted entry, just remember to ask!
You need to get fast ticket pass if you don't like waiting much. The people working there are just great.
Good stopping place when you're taking a ride up the river. Something could be done about the pigeons
I liked it - I'm a history nerd and I understand it had to be child friendly and manage a crowd but there definite times where I just wanted more. It was fine - but I could read a book and watch a movie and learn more. Good for kids and for people who like to walk.
The view of the room is very nice and romantic,, but the furniture of the hotel and equipment are very old and the price is a bit high because it is a bit far from the center of London.. I spent 8 night seeing this view every day,, it won t be forgotten days
The home of the Crown Jewels. If you like a bit of regalness and sparkle then this is the place for you. This castle has so much history that it would take 100 pages to summarise it all. A must see top attraction in London.
We appreciated the choices of audio tours available. We regret not being able to stay longer!
Travelled by Thames clipper as it stops right at the Tower ,beautiful place at night when lit up
A brilliant day out. Wish we had arrived earlier as we missed a fair bit - plan for a full day if you can. Thoroughly recommend the Beefeater led tours - both informative and entertaining (and at no extra cost).
This place was a spectacle. Get there as early as possible, we did, and were able to enjoy the majority of the site without the crowds getting too intense. The beefeaters put on fantastic tours. The crown jewels are beautiful, as well as the armour and weapons. The royal ravens were massive and very used to humans. After the site was open about 2 or so hours the crowds were absurd, just people everywhere you turned. Despite that, it was still a great experience and we would easily do it again.
Open spaces, beautiful architecture from medieval to post modern, tower of London, Shard. Boat ride through tower bridge on the Thames was outstanding and magical. Gift shops don't charge arm and a leg! Coffee places, beautiful restaurants with plastic canopies to keep out the cold while you enjoy the most beautiful scenes and cuisines.
Loved it! So much history & gorgeous views of the city.
The yeoman tour was amazing! Our guide Lawrence was funny and knowledgeable. 10/10 would be hilariously insulted again.
Wow! What a highlight of the trip in London. This was a wonderful day. Glad we dressed warm, as it was in the middle of December. It wasn't crowded at all. The grounds were stunning to look at and the views of the tower was out of this world. I'm so glad to come here to relax and soak it all in. So much history here. Good times, great company, fun photo ops. Definitely look forward to coming back again one day. Happy Holidays everyone and and a Happy New Year! See ya... From Las Vegas, Michael
Splendid views of the Thames. Lots of history on beheadings and the crown jewels. You can meet real Beefeaters (yeoman warders).
Save up some time for this, it will take awhile to get through every attraction on the site. Focus on the beefeaters your first to get your bearings, then spread out when it ends to go to the specific attractions.
Go early and see the jewels first or be stuck in a never ending line. Avoid the lineup for the torture tower as it's only a 30 second exhibit. Staff are super friendly !
Busy as to be expected, best time to visit is Saturday 12- ish
Fascinating and historic place; arrive for opening and head to the crown jewels first unless you want to queue for hours. Chat to the yeomen and go on one of their tours for history and banter.
This place is pretty neat! There s a lot more on the inside than you can tell from standing outside. The towers at the ends of the walls have rooms you can enter, and you ll be able to walk along to top of the walls and get nice views of the financial district and of Tower Bridge. Be sure to see the history of torture and the Crown Jewels!
Lots to explore here. Can be some lines for the major attractions though, could easily spend 3 hours walking around.
Iconic London landmark. Packed full of history, totally unique
A must see! So much history. The Yomen/beefeaters were very helpful and friendly. We went in January and managed to get to see the Crown Jewels very easily. I can imagine in the summer it gets very busy. The White tower was very impressive too!
So much to see and learn! We spent the whole day and could have come back again.
Battlements, Crown Jewels, Changing of the Guard, Beefeaters (excellent, occasionally gruesome storytellers!), the Mint, the moat and zoo grounds, torture chambers and devices, and live demonstrations of sword fights and other activities.
Especially loved the views of the 1000 year old tower with the most modern architecture in the city in the background!
Very helpful staff as lost my phone and it was located immediately, Cater very well with people with disabilities seen and hidden ones; Really enjoyable day
The Tower of London is a great place to visit for History lovers. If you are limited on time, skip the free Yeoman Warder Guided Tour, that's included with your ticket price. Go straight to the Crown Jewels Exhibit and begin your wait. It's worth every minute you will spend in the long, long... long line. You can spend as much 45 minutes before getting into the building and then wait an additional 15 minutes waiting in line inside.
Second place with the long line is the Torture Tower. Well worth it, small and over crowded. Not many torture exhibits, but the ones that were there certainly effective.
The Bloody Tower is up next, but it is not as gory as some would suggest.
The Imprisonment Tower was great for the History guys.
It is possible to spend a day here, if you want to.
While the overall tower is a sight, the long queues and wait for the Crown Jewels makes it very tiring. There was a 2 km long queue just to see the Kohinoor. And the Kohinoor is a 2 min slow walk. That's it. Every other place in the tower too had queues which made the visit a little taxing. Otherwise, would definitely recommend a visit if you haven't already been there
Great place to visit. Very surprising and violent history.
Very well organized. Easy to social distance. Friendly Beefeaters
Well worth every penny spent, but wear comfortable shoes for wandering round
Very nice place to learn about royal history in London
Wonderful experience! I had time to tour one attraction in the City of London and chose this. No regrets! Something for everyone here. I loved the chapels and the medieval palace. Wandering twisty passages and striding across the battlements would be great for kids, and the armouries are packed with fascinating weapons technology spanning the last 1000 years. The wardens ate knowledgeable and friendly. Go!
What a great place to visit!! Full of history and the Yeoman tour, while short was fantastic. Will definitely be back. The Crown Jewels are incredible!!!
Fantastic place great beefeater tour guide...just brilliant
We had a great time, we saw lots of interesting stuff. The included tour is a must especially if you meet Lawrence, great man and a honorable Yeoman Warder. Don't miss the crown jewels. Definetly allow at least 2h for this
If you like your history, look no further than Tower of London. Being from the states, this place trumps anything in terms of what it has seen over the last millennium. Pricey for entrance.
Its beautifully maintained... the experience to see the Kohinoor is the real key... Plan it properly in the off season dates to avoid those 2hrs que.... Even the walk at the bridge is a mesmerizing experience, specially when we have learnt the London bridge poem since childhood..
Kohinoor... Beautiful Kohinoor is the center of attravtion for this place.
Way too many people. Interesting place but I wasn't able to enjoy it.
Get there early, go straight to the jewels. The white tower has improved in more interactive exhibits. Read the Ravenmaster, excellent and informative book by the chief yeoman warder and raven keeper Merlina greeted us just inside the gate! How much fun.
Omg what a fabulous day. A tour with the one and only Billy so informative and funny. Crown Jewels wow I was in or of them.
The history of the Tower what can I say if walls could talk
The depth of history here is amazing. I was very impressed with the arms and armor display in the White Tower.
An amazing place to visit in London. Great free tours and plenty of history to learn about.
A place of history. I had a great pleasure to see the royal crowns
Brilliant! Had a fantastic tour and an explore, finished off by ice skating in the moat. A really wonderful day.
Seeing The Crown Jewels and the history of the Tower of London is an amazing experience.
VERY expensive but the money is for a worthy cause. Plan on a full day, long line ups but excellent presentation. Would give 5 stars but not enough Medieval content.
The full English castle experience. You don't want to miss it.
Went in without any expectation and found a tour just starting by a Beefeater. He was so funny and really brought the place to life for us. He told us about all the key events of history that took place here. It was a really big group, as they are free with your ticket, but he spoke really loud for everyone. He told us about what it takes to become a Beefeater which made me have so much respect for him. I wish I remembered his name because it was a pleasure to meet him!
Totally awesome!
This extrasuper tough stone building is in great condition.
Take an audio tour, drink a coffee and sit in the courtyard at at the same time.
Fascinating from start to finish.
Good if you're super interested in the royal history. If not, it's quite expensive
Learn about the history then visit. Very interesting and lots to see.
During our visit on the 6th August, my 8 year old grandson was very much looking forward to viewing the Crown Jewels. We cleared entry with pre- booked tickets just after 10am to be faced with a queue for the Jewels which extended outside the normal queuing area some 30 yards down hill. An estimated 2 hour wait. Tower management need to seriously devise a more customer friendly method of entry for this aspect of the visit. Timed entry for example works well for the London Eye and London Dungeon. Forcing people/kids to queue for two hours is just unacceptable as well as consumes useful time. A most disappointing visit.
We visited in a pouring rain, and waiting in the long line outside was no fun because of the strong gusts of wind that kept turning our umbrellas inside out. The character actors are the castle did their best to fulfill their roles despite the weather, juggling, stilt walking, leering menacingly, etc. We visited after 2 pm and ran out of time well before we were able to see all that was available for touring. No photos are allowed inside any of the exhibits or in the chapel, and they keep a sharp eye out, busting offenders instantly. A couple of the Crown Jewels were out on loan to the royals. Hot chocolate was a highlight for the kids.
Great fun to look around and see the history of the Palace. The Yeoman Warders are full of facts and funny bits of information, and make their guided tours a laugh.
Despite the crowds of tourists it s a fabulous historical experience and well worth going to at least once in a lifetime!
The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels is something definitely worth seeing!
Love visiting here. Lots to see and take in. The history is amazing. Will go again.
So much history. Try and read up about the Tower before you go so you can get more out of your visit. Also try a Yeoman warden guided tour as they will tell tales that aren't in print. Overall an excellent experience. If your lucky enough try and book (6 months in advance) the ceremony of the keys. It happens every night and has done for the past 700 years. That's 500 years longer than the USA has been in existence.
One of the must visit places in London. It has a long history associated with it which gives an insight into the life in England during the medieval times. The Yeoman's tour was at best average. Seeing the crown Jewels including the Kohinoor and Cullinan diamonds was the highlight for me.
