Great attraction. Recommend arriving close to 10am and go straight to the Crown Jewels to avoid later queues. Then a must do is the Beefeater tour, it's included, and excellent. Then wander at your leisure

Very affordable, easy walking self guided tour, spiral staircase on some towers are not suitable for folks with balance issues and are not wheelchair accessible. Restrooms / "toilets" are accessible and free. A must see and an easy 2 to 3 hours self guided tour. Very rich in history and highly recommend to add it to your London UK intenerary. Kids of all ages can go in as well.
By far one of my faorite stops while in London. We stayed at the Tower Hotel so essentially our trip centered around the Tower. First day we took the tour and our Warbler was awesome. The crown jewels were just amazing. Could have spent so much more time there.
Waitress with Sara as lead. I think all of the audience knew the story, everyone was hanging on the next word and cheering at the right places. I am a fan, so it is impossible to be negative, I had a fantastic evening. So, I will add a side note - we chose a box for our seats as something different - they were not too expensive but were marked 'restrictive view' when we purchased. I would also like to add the following - only if you sit on the floor at the back of the box - leg room, perfect, comfort, perfect, location, perfect, cost, acceptable, access - stairs! The interval ice cream was also only 5m away!
Highly recommend this attraction, along with the guided tour. Allow 2+ hours for a complete experience. Visit the White Tower (centre building), walk along the defense walls, view the Crown Jewels, and be sure to not miss the ravens and the stories about them.
Fantastic day out, well worth the money (especially if you get 241 rail tickets). Very interesting and knowledgeable tour guides. So much history to learn about. Allow at least 3-4 hours to appreciate it fully.
A must visit place. Constructed on the bank of river Thames. Different buildings reveal different aspects of British history. Huge place which one cannot see completely in a day as long walks and queues await you. One must visit the jewels section. Roadside eateries attract visitors. Easily approachable by public transport.
Haven t been to the tower since being a child on a school trip. It s a great site, steeped in history. Definitely recommend joining a Yeoman guided walk, they re entertaining and informative (my favourite part of the visit).
We went on a weekday, had to queue for 20min to see the Queens Jewels (interesting), all other sites on premises were queue free. Cafe could have a better ambiance and choice of food, felt like a school canteen.
You need a full day here if you really want to enjoy all the sites of the Tower of London. There are also lots of steps to climb in places, the easiest access was to see the Jewels (no steps).
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend the Tower for a day out in London. Be sure to visit when they are feeding the ravens- quite a spectacle.
Crowded at the entrance for the crown jewels but everything else was great can't imagine how much money we saw there . Learn something about the history of defense, money making and much more. Entrance is included in the London Pass.
The Tower of London is a major stop on the London tour. A photo with a background of the tower and the depth of the Thames is the traveler's best memory.
Stunning. So much history wrapped up here. Crown jewels were stunning. At busy times there are long queues but don't let that deter you as they go down quickly. I would recommend the tours with the beefeaters if you want to learn more about the tower and it's history but walking around by yourself there is plenty of information to read.
Such an interesting price of history! If it weren t for my friends who suggested it, I never would ve known it was there. If you are a history buff I highly recommend checking this place out! Allow for at least 2-3 hours because there is much more to see than you think.
A really lovely 4 hours spent wandering slowly around all the exhibitions. Well laid out, good Covid-19 awareness, lots of sanitiser stations and positive staff. It was quiet and therefore there was lots of seating available and the fact you can take in a picnic means a whole day can be had despite the small proximity of the site. Highly recommended.
Excellent experience. One of the best tourist experiences in the World. The Crown Jewels are presented superbly. The cafe has brilliantly well thought out options.
We loved the tower of London and their special needs lanyards are fantastic. All the staff were fantastic and there is plenty of people to speak to. The only word of warning is the busy summer for is meant a long wait for the crown jewels but is was a relaxed experience so not stressful. Would highly recommend.
Beautifully maintained historic location, great exhibits plenty to see and do. Busy later in the day, especially if you come to see the jewels. Price is appropriate for the amount to see and do.
The Tower of London is one of my favourite London historical attractions. The warders give wonderful free tours and the activities for children and families are excellent. I especially recommend the half term activities on offer. Great day out!
Take the official White Tower tour, otherwise you cannot go inside the Chapel. Generally, you don't see much of the interiors anywhere there. The beautiful building exhibiting the Crown Jewels, does not present any original interior designs. A bit more is to see in the White Tower itself.
Stunning historical site. When you are into this type of places, you can feel it those years and imagine the people from that time. From the King and Queen.... Must see again! Thank you to the most patient and kind tour leader, Sahar Toosi. Wonderful day!
Lovely staff amazing expeditions loads of history and its the most amazing place ive been in London would definitely recommend it to people who love learning the history of old London
Lots of history here. My favorite spot was seeing the crown jewels and where Anne Boleyn was beheaded. Its an easy thing to miss so look for the crystal pillow among the bushes. I love the history and getting to look around the ground without a guide.
Went to the tower for ceremony of the keys. Not only were we given the history of the tower of London by a yeomen guard the key ceremony was brilliant. Would recommend a visit but have been told the ceremony is now booked up for the next 12 months.
The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which is separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. The castle was used as a prison from 1100 (Ranulf Flambard) until 1952 (Kray twins), although that was not its primary purpose. A grand palace early in its history, it served as a royal residence. As a whole, the Tower is a complex of several buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat. There were several phases of expansion, mainly under kings Richard I, Henry III, and Edward I in the 12th and 13th centuries. The general layout established by the late 13th century remains despite later activity on the site.
This place is filled with so much history, fun tours and the royal jewels are incredible to see. The only downside is how expensive it is to enter the tower of London.
Castle is very interesting to tour. Crown jewels isn't worth a long wait but if queue is just to the metal bars it moves fast, there is more waiting inside though. The warden tour is quite entertaining.
Excellent place to explore. We didn't realise we would need a bit of time there so would like to go back again to see all the things we missed. The free tour guide was awesome and glad we stuck around for it.
Great place to visit, however th que was so long to see the crown jewels would be great if you could pay extra for a fast que.....some of the stairs were extremly narrow and steep.
Not as good as I remember. They have a lot less arms than 10 years ago and the whole experience seems sterile. The whole thing is aimed at pleasing tourists who what a quick visit before they "do" the rest of London.
I was working there as a security steward for remembrance! and it rain every day and the crouds was was hard to controll the people was horibble and have no respect for us it the worst job I have ever done in my whole life never again
Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. 950 year of history you can see, touch and feel. Well worth a visit when in London.
Not recommend for squeamish people or kids under 13. They tell you about super interesting gross stuff that happened 500 years ago. If you're in London, make sure you go here.
Absolutely amazing to look back at our history. Follow a guided tour with the beefeater as it's truly entertaining. Been many times before as a kid and also with my kids. Went again as my youngest wanted to go. Would recommend.
Amazing how much history is jammed into what seems like a small area. There are many different areas that exhibit this history, with the Crown Jewels being the highlight of the trip. The restaurant/cafeteria inside near the White Tower entrance is also a great place to sit and eat with a wide variety of options.
ANOTHER OF LONDONS OLD BUILDING FULL OF HISTORY,TO VISIT AND ENJOY .SEE THE CROWN JEWELS.ANN BOLEYNS ROOM SHE WAS INCARCERATED IN,ALSO THE PLACE SHE WAS BEHEADED.THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE,BEWARE IF YOU ARE A VEGAN, THERE ARE A LOT OF BEEFEATERS ABOUT.ONE THING YOU WONT GET YOUR HEAD CHOPPED OFF!!!! UNLESS YOU TRY AND STEAL THE CROWN JEWELS
This is a must see in London. Be sure to get the head set and enjoy all of the stops with a story to go along. The crown jewels are the highlight. Ask plenty is questions along the way. The wardens are very well informed. Plan on 2 hours for this excursion.
Definitely one of the best places to visit in London. Take the free tour at the entrance it is worth the wait and walk. Once inside see everything. There is a lot of history here and you will leave very happy.
