Great place went with my daughter. We both love history so this was an ideal place. Can't wait to go again
One of the typical touristy places in London. It is nice to see some British old castle and British royal jewelries inside. Should definitely check out the Royal crown and also the ravens inside the castle. However, we think that the price is quite overpriced - almost 30 pounds per person for entrance, but we only spent around 2 hours here.
Diamonds, pearls, gold and all that post-imperialistic glitter that remains safely guarded behind the thick walls of this almighty fortress. Do not miss to join a tour of story tellers, that transform this place into a living history by revealing all kinds of stories that transformed throughout the century this place into a unique landmark. Certainly a must to visit!
Great experience and so much history!. Fabulous crown jewels and the Beefeater tour is a must!
Such an honor to come to this place and see 800-year-old structures, many artifacts of the history of the country, as well as to learn so much of the highlights of the country's history.
Great history and amazing tour and stories from the Yeoman.
Brimming with history and great tours. This is a one to see for all.
What a wonderful and creepy place...the Crown Jewels, torture chambers, flesh-eating crows and tons of armour. Yay!
It's my second visit and this time with my two children (5 & 8 years old). They thoroughly enjoyed it, from the walk on the easterly and westerly walkways with it's glass section crossing where you can see down below, the audio visual screens with historical and engineering facts (English and foreign languages subtitles) and the engine room. It's a fascinating building and we'll worth a visit. I bought our family ticket online in advance and avoided the ticket office queue, meaning fast entry.
Great experience to know the history and stories of England monarchy.
Great place to visit! Rich with history and of course the crown jewels and it is included in the London pass. Also note, if the line to the Crown jewels appears really long it moves quite fast and is worth the wait.
I enjoyed it, especially the guy who was giving the crowd some info about the history of the tower. I even recorded it, he was very engaging.
An amazing place and not just for the crown jewels. The white tower was incredible. Get there early (9am opening) and go and see the jewels first. Then go back and take the guided tour (45min)
Not a cheap place to visit but sights aplenty. Queue for the crown jewels died down throughout the day so go there last. So much to see and do. Bring a lunch as the food is very expensive and only okay.
Stunning place to visit. So much of the nation's history to be found at the Tower of London
Iconic. Best for the Crown Jewels. Next, the complex itself. Third, the Royal armour and various trophies taken in battle.
Challenging for those with mobility issues, but doable. Expect a bumpy ride in a wheelchair. You'll need someone strong to push you about. There is a lift for the White Tower but needs to be operated by staff.
Guards in grey with the big tall hats and automatic weapons do their thing and March about.
Fantastic place to visit. Especially the crown jewels
Very beautiful place Can walk around and take pictures on both sides of the Themes river This area has many historical building to see and take a photo . If you get tired Can find shops, cafes and restaurants to relax. You can spend hole day for this area
Stunning rooms and walling around the staff inside and out od buildings were fabulous. The beefeaters are more than happy to have a photo.
Amazing. The yeoman of the guard was really informative and knew his history. A good guided tour.
If you want to see everything here make sure you allow at least 4-6 hours. Excellent value for money, the children (7 & 9 yrs) had a great time and found it really interesting. Don't miss out on the live shows (such as escape from the tower) as they are really entertaining as well.
A must see while in London. Great for history, understanding the British monarchy and seeing the trapping of royalty. Get there early. Head straight for the crown jewel exhibit. It will take the longest and if you are the first people in you will get to appreciate them more. The beefeaters tours are informative. There is an extensive collection of battle armor and cannons in the main tower. Several side tours. There is the coin makers, torture chamber, zoo collection and prison. It is fun just to wonder around the walls courtyard and towers too. You are close to Tower Bridge too and can pop over right after to see it. Also there are Thames River boat cruises right there that will take you down the river give you great city views.
Only got to see the crown jewels but they were lovely.
A medieval island in the middle of modern London. It's nice to sit on the steps, eat fish and chips and enjoy the view.
Serene and tranquil hiding a turbulent past ..composed and standing
Hard to believe this building was constructed so many years ago, the architecture & symmetry is simply breathtaking.
Always wanted to go to the Tower of London, and I was not disappointed, well worth a visit!
Great place to visit, history, stunning jewels and made better when you don't have to queue
Fantastic experience and wonderful tour guide! Thanks Steve!
Excellent place to visit.
Very informative..
Historic place. Can be easily accessed through the Tower Hill tube station
The ravens be monsters. Also please don't try to have a selfie with one like a traitor (American) did. Thing would probably take her eye out without a second thought.
I was there for Royal jewellery. But if you are in London you have to go there. Very nice place
It is worth to visit! Why do five marks be maximum?
The Crown Palace is a must visit highlight, clear signages make the navigation a breeze. Highly recommend getting there early to be able to catch the tours!
Learned tons of history of England before reaching out the final spot to witness the marvelous crown that was used during the coronation for Elizabeth II.
Fantastic day so much to look at very informative all staff friendly
This was such an experience, I loved every minute. There's so much to see and do, well worth the price
Great place. Go early and visit the crown jewels first.
Beautiful place. Exquisite jewelry. Never seen this type of thing before, nor probably will again!
Some parts impressive, notably the crown jewels and the sense of history when Ann Boleyn was beheaded. However the buildings are too pristine and feel disneyfied rather than authentic
Oh my, if you go here, be sure to stop by the restaurant. The wonderful variety of food broken by by markets will not disappoint. If nothing else, just come here for the food. The
Mulled wine was wonderful. Tower was great and the royal jewels were equally immersing!
Highly recommended if you want to know more about the history of the UK. If you really want to have the full experience, I suggest having a guided tour with a so known 'beef eater' so he or she can explain in more detail all the things that happened there.
My favourite attraction in London, yes lines are very very long sometimes, but it's worth it! So beautiful. Some towers are waste of time and it is a bit difficult to go up and down the stairs for some people, but it is worth it
I love my history and have a particular interest in the Tudors, however I still found the other areas of the Towers history that I learnt about whilst there fascinating.
I had done the Beefeater tour before and did not do this time. If you have not been before would say this was a must! Respect to the Beefeater we did encounter whilst waiting to see one of the towers, as he was amazing with my 5 year old nephew, chatted with him for ages and have some fantastic photos.
I knew that the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula was not always open to the public but this time it was and you didn't have to be part of a tour to go in.
Expect it to be busy and if you are planning ahead check prices and offers online for the best deals.
Great family day out... Loved all the history... well worth a trip
I took my 6 year old there over half term and we loved it. We hired the audio guides and spent a good four hours going around the site. His favourite was the white tower, for adults the crown jewels and history behind it is very impressive. The only disappointing part of the trip was the lack of an area to stop and eat a packed lunch or run free for a bit. Highly recommended, don't take very young children there or prams.
Very interesting, beautifully preserved but really didn t enjoy the multimedia displays. For me, the tech detracted from the overall experience
Loads to see & do, dead interesting. Well worth the money
Went early, prior to opening. Was able to view crown jewels at my leisure, which was amazing. The entire experience was very worthwhile. Standing on the grounds, in the buildings, climbing the stairs with divets and dips from use...just amazing.
Fab tour. Tour guide was hilarious. Very busy inside didn't get to see the crown jewels as the queue was too long and I had a train to catch. Not sure I would have felt the same if we'd paid full price to get in.
Bloody expensive. Audio guide is an extra 5pound. Not a great tour and the actual displays were not great. Line to see the crown jewels was massive so didn't bother. Don't waste 2-3 hrs. Walk past and look at the building instead.
We had already booked our tickets so we got them slightly cheaper and we just had to pick them up. It wasn't very busy so we pretty much had no wait for anything whilst there. We took the Yeoman Warder tour and our guide Barry was fantastic. Barry boosted the rating up. The Tower complex is massive but the majority of the artifacts are concentrated in a couple of places. The most disappointing exhibition was the torture tools as a place with such an infamous reputation we kind of expected it to be a bit bigger than it was. Overall, well worth the visit and definitely take the tour.
Must see national landmark if visiting London. You have the option of guided tours or roaming on your own.
Lots of fun activities and tours. Would recommend for families and group outings. History buffs would enjoy the tours in particular, Instagrammers would enjoy the Medieval scenery and children would take an interest in the live action characters and gift shops.
We had a brilliant day out with the family at the Tower of London. So glad I followed reviewers' advice and joined the tour with the very entertaining Beefeater Mr Scott Kelly who had us all enthralled with his tales of the sometimes horrible history of the Tower. But besides the bloody beheadings he also gave us a very thorough guide to all aspects of the Tower of London's buildings as well as some really interesting background to the Yeoman of the Guard. To him I say well done Sir and huzzah! The Crown Jewels were amazing and the armoury and original chapel from the time of William the Conqueror well worth the steps we had to climb. Highly recommended for a sightseeing trip to London.
The first real Castle of the English Royalty. Amazing!
Near the bridge with nice views. Delays to enter. Take the tickets outside
Well worth the admission price. The crown jewels are mesmorizing
Yeoman warder Scott Kelly is hilarious and at the same time a real storyteller.
Worth the entry fee and has the guided tour is a must do!!And the Jewels are worth the wait!!
Historic castle next to the Tower Bridge where you can enjoy a historic tour with plenty for everyone..its sorrounded by many buildings including the famous Tower Bridge.A royal day is guaranteed..
Highlight of our trip to London. Dont miss it. Get there early as it does get crowded.
A wonderful journey through history. I would recommend it at anytime. Loved it.
This place was awesome. There was a lot of walking around to do. So bring your walking shoes. A lot of fun for you and the family
Amazing piece of history. Interactive tours with real life guards.
No trip to London is complete without visiting the Tower.
I has a little bit for everyone given the history of the building. It was an imposing fortress, palace estates and also a prison with a dark past.
Nice few hours spent strolling around. The beefeater was excellent.
dwfinitely worth a visit it is a great historical part of london's past
Brilliant historical site.
You are missing out if you don't go around with a warder tour.
Fantastic day out for all the family. Lots to see and learn no matter what your age is. Stunning
Ticket expensive. I left after 10 minutes, it was a very wet miserable Monday. Very crowded never again.
The tower of London has a lot of history to it. Taking a tour inside will give you a lot of details of the place and it history.
But even if you don t have time or can t go in, there is a lot of information boards out up outside at point of interest you can read giving u a glimpse of its great history.
There are good view of the tower when you walk close to the river Thames between tower of london & tower bridge.
In winters there is an open air ice ring next to tower of London.
Lots to see within the walls .. & the ravens who are characters... you can spend literaly hours, my fave was the execution tower & memorial on the spot of the deaths, info on characters who had lost there lifes there...just seeing the writing on the walls amazed me & the intricacy of the inscriptions! the baboon wire sculpures are one of the amusing things to see also. if you love armoury its a must & the crown jewels WoW! All enjoyed the day Immensely!
Wow. Just amazing. Our Beefeater guide, Bob, was very entertaining.
A huge attraction with towers, fortification walks, chapels, cafes and many other landmarks. It is full of history and has so many exhibitions. We enjoyed it. The ticket is high at 27.5 pounds and it is not convenient with a stroller.
In continuing with the alluring history of the British Royal Family through the centuries, the Tower of London has its own history over several hundred years. There are minu exhibitions within pertaining to the world wars and the highlight is, by far, the display of the crown jewels.
The Tower of London is well worth the visit and can take anywhere between 90 minutes (if you're rushing and there's no lines) to about three to four hours.
TIP: Get in early to avoid queues and definitely allow time for a free guided tour by a Yeoman (Beefeater).
Really great place. Highly recommend doing one of the daily tours (included in ticket price).
Spectacular view in the history of the british monarchy.
