The service was great as far as doctors and nurses go I cannot complain. But unfortunately when I left the Er I was not given my prescriptions. I realized it when I was driving home I was only given my discharge paperwork. So I called back and the person who answered was extremely rude not even paying attention to what I was needing because she was to busy talking to someone else on the phone, end of story I spoke to three different people and nobody was able to help me. The next day which is today I called to follow up on how I can obtain the prescription since it was not given to me in the first place and the person who I was transferred to has the nerve to say if your I m so much pain then come back in which is extremely upsetting. Why should I have to go in their sit for hours and pay again over your facilities mistakes this is pathetic so at the end of the day I m still missing a medicine because none of the doctors that originally saw me are their so it s ok for me to be in pain and nobody take responsibility, customer service sucks here and I can assure nobody will even take the time to follow up on this complain to get it straighten out but I m sure their bill will remain the same for their horrible service.

They take time to attend the emergency area. But already being in the room is more satisfying. I was hospitalized and the treatment was the best. If you don't like a nurse, you can ask for change. They try to do the best for the patient. And we must remember that we are many, the service cannot be so fast.

My wife deliver our baby here at UMC, everything was going perfect, nurse some are rude some are nice. But went two hospital are working in the same building things don't work good. We didn't have our baby there in the room because childrens hospital had the baby and ones the baby its in there they can't send the baby to the room because its a different hospital. Baby was in el paso childrens hospital and mommy was in UMC. So my wife had to go to the baby to feed every 3 hours and was not able to have a good rest. Worst working system they have here in this building with 2 hospitals working separately.

I would like to share my experience about the day ...

I would like to share my experience about the day I gave birth in this hospital. My water broke on Monday by midday, unfortunately I wasn t able to deliver naturally because I got terrible leg cramps with every contraction, although I tried for 16 hours. I lasted like this for 28 hours since my water broke so by the time that I was transferred to the hospital I was in terrible pain, sleepless and unable to move. My husband and family stayed by my side during this whole time. We were received in the second floor where I was mistreated by the person there at the time, she even grabbed me rudely by the face and tried to make me stop screaming. I never imagined that this was just the beginning. The nurse, named EMMA (I don t remember the last name, but started with an S and spoke Spanish) was one of the most unprofessional people I ve met in my life. I was crying and unable to move, I was shaking and freezing and refused to give me a blanket, she didn t even help me sit on the bed, she was rude to my family, kicked my husband out of the room and kept on mocking our pain. Then the second part of the nightmare started: a group of resident doctors arrived, headed by JANICE VIVALDI and LISA E. MOORE. I don t even know where to start with these group, but long story short, they lied about my stage of dilation (said I was on 9 1/2), told me that they could see my baby s head (when someone else that checked me before told me he wasn t in the middle of the cervix.) I was so exhausted from the pain and crying, when I heard they said that I was just lazy and didn t want to push, I was begging for an epidural. My husband was so desperate that he requested to speak to someone else, and Janice Vivaldi told him that she was the person to speak with, obviously my husband refused. With a complete lack of empathy had the guts to say that in Puerto Rico, where she came from, epidurals didn t even exist. We had already considered the possibility of going to another hospital. Then God had mercy of me, and their shift was over. Completely different story when the night shift arrived, they even asked who said that my dilation was 9 1/2, I still was on 8. Thanks to Dr Randle Umeh, and the other doctors and nurses for making a different end of story.

The worst hospital in all of El Paso Texas, I do not recommend it since we came to the emergency room with a fractured finger, and we were waiting for 7 hours plus the 2 hours we were inside waiting for discharge. Honestly do not come, go to any other but this one does not. And we don't even talk about prices.

My mother went in walking and came out in less than 2 weeks. She came home and passed away after 3 days of being out. I found my mother in an isolation room in the hospital begging me for water with her lips pretty much falling off. She was not properly cared for and was finally released after we repeatedly asked the doctor. We got her back pretty brain dead and with a ugly wound on her bottom from where she wasn't cared for. doctors here rotate so often that no one leaves notes or actually cares for their patients

After the fiasco at Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces, I actually think dogs in kennels are treated much better,. I finally could breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I had some confident Care in trying to save the end of my finger which had been cut 3/4 of the way through. The doctor was excellent he did a great job he took his time he explained what was going on and I was in that room right away and the surgeon was there right after. Unlike the HOURS l spent alone in my room @ Mountain View watching my finger dripping blood on my bed and floor. Rude staff making sure they had all the Insurance and billing info on me. They couldn't have cared less if the end of my finger fell off.

This is the most unprofessional traveling phlebotomist service. First this woman waited until 9pm to call me and rudely notify me that I needed to Fast and that she'd be at my home at 8am to 9:30 am. She arrived at 8am. We rescheduled because I had eaten after she called. Because as i explained to her I hadn't eaten my dinner yet. So she said she'd be here the following day at the same time. I am diabetic. After fasting for 10 to 12 hours she had the nerves to be extra late. She told me 8 to 9. I HAD TO CALL HER TO FIND OUT IF SHE WAS COMING. THEN SHE TELLS ME ANOTHER TWO HOUR WAIT! NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I USE THEIR SERVICE!!!!!!

They charged my priest money for parking because he "had no business with the hospital". The man was paid nothing to visit sick people, it was just a kindness to comfort those suffering. And this is how they treat him.

While I would love to give this hospital good revi...

While I would love to give this hospital good reviews, I just can't. There were a few staff members who were exemplary given the circumstances, overall I was disgusted with the hospital.

My husband was life flighted in after a bad ATV accident on 9 June. When I arrived at the ER I was let back to see him and while he was uncomfortable he was being taken care of given the circumstances. Not much later was when things took a rough turn.

The ER attending doctor came in to tell us that after review of his XRays, he had only broken bones in his face, despite the massive bruising and swelling in his right collar bone area. The attending insisted he did not break anything else. Fast forward 20 minutes later when two employees came in to clean up a gash in his forehead that needed stitches; the lead told us that they had to be careful since he broke his collar bone... when I asked if they were sure (since neither were docs, much less the attending) the lead got rude and told me the doctor is NOT the radiologist, and the radiologist said it was broken. While I appreciated the news, the attitude was exceptionally uncalled for. Little did I know at the time, but this is the kind of hospitality I could expect for the rest of our time there.

After I let go of my frustration to that situation, the secondary employee began cleaning up my husband's cut to his forehead, flowing bloody water into his eyes and ears, scrubbing too harshly and was obviously nowhere near confident enough to deal with a trauma patient. The stitching was just as bad.

Shortly after they left a surgeon from ortho came by to explain the break in my husband's collarbone (the one that ER attending INSISTED didn't exist - something she should've confirmed with radiology), he also explained that my husband more than likely had a break in one of his vertebra that would need further scans to confirm. So at this point not only does he have more than a break in his cheek, he has two breaks in his right collar bone and a potential break in his spine.

Fast forward a few hours and he's in the ICU where his night shift nurse is kind and understanding. I insist that I can clean I up and she double checks that I don't want her to take over (lord knows I could've used the rest) before gladly bringing me everything needed to give him a sponge bath.

To be continued..

I have a family member in the hospital and have had numerous doctors and specialists tell us different things. The nursing staff has very bad beside etiquette with the patient and family. They really need to understand that we are only trying to get the best care for our loved ones and that when the family has questions they should respectfully try to answer or find someone from the team that can help us understand. A little courtesy and respect goes a very long way.

UMC hospital is an excellent hospital. Our visit to the Emergency Room was quick and thorough. We barely waited at all in the waiting room, 15 minutes tops. X-ray was taken right away. Received a thorough exam by a Nurse Practioner, explained all instructions clearly and cheerfully. All staff throughout our visit were courteous, knowledgable and professional.

ICU Nurse April was awesome but other than that everything else was bad. Most of the nurses didn't know what was going on. They failed to communicate effectively with each other, patients or family members. When she was discharged, they failed to give her any discharge papers or medical documents. On top of that a nurse from the hosiptal was on social media complaining about family members calling to check on their loved ones.

I cannot say enough good about this hospital and the staff. After receiving terrible/no care after being airlifted to Del Sol Hospital..my family brought me to University. While I did have to wait for a long time in the ER waiting room, they did their best to make me comfortable. It is very understandable why they are so busy, as they are getting patients from two states and two countries..but once you are seen..the care is beyond amazing. I cannot thank the staff enough for fixing the aneurysm in my brain, easing my terror, treating my family incredibly and easing their fears as well. My experience at this hospital was/is beyond amazing....and I will never be able to thank them all enough!! If you are sick, while you may have to understandably wait a bit..the care you will receive will be totally above board.

Waited 8 hrs in the ER with my boyfriend super sick, he has chicken pox & it s all over his body, literally turning into a zombie already.
Lobby filled up & emptied out and they wouldn t pass us. Nurses were chitty chatting. They only gave him Benadryl ($4 allergy pills)
the Dr was a nice man, he ruled it was an allergic reaction to medicine and nothing to worry about.
Yesterday he was taken to Providence and turns out he s got chicken pox and it s extremely bad and he s in an Airborne room.
He s well taken care of @ Providence now.

Came to see a Dr. waited for 2 hours with a friend/patient. They left an intern come into the room he said he was a Dr.

He was a medical intern student. Jeeze now you guys have little kids playing Dr. Great! This is ridiculous! We asked for a Dr. and they did not honor our request. What a joke!!! They told us we signed the contract saying she would be treated by interns not a Dr.
Someone practicing on you. Great!
After complaining and asking for the Dr. They did ask Dr. Baker to come. He was very professional.
