Hospitals are just no fun, but DDEAMC's ER and service personnel were so helpful for both my visit and later my husband's. Low wait time, caring nurses, gentle explanations, and even a couple of good laughs :) So much better than the hospitals in CA for sure.

Myself and my children have never gotten good care at Eisenhower in the 2years and 6months since we have moved here. Wish I was able to go off post but can't. I was a military brat for 19 years. Been a military wife for 14 years. In the 33 years of me living the military family lifestyle. This is the worst place for healthcare. I have had many Duty stations that don't have great health care but it wasn't as bad as this and I am praying every single day that we get orders so we can get out of here so I can get the proper care that I need for my autoimmune disease that I have.
My Dad recently had open heart surgery here and the doctors and nurses in the ICU were excellent!!!! Dr Currier was his surgeon and she couldnt been better. Our favorite nurse was Melinda! Thank you for your care for my Dad!!!
I do not recommend this hospital. My wifes doctor, Dr.Toma, has been 45 minutes behind every appointment, six appointments total, and she didnt know how to do an ultrasound. She had to get help from a nurse to do one. Unacceptable.
Try getting an appointment and they are always booked. If you cannot meet the demands for appointments than you need a better system for meeting your patient needs.
Radiologists receptionist is rude, you will wait forever just to make an appointment, while know one is even at the desk being helped. They however are chatting and giggling about something. I had a absolutely wonderful experience with my OB. But this is ridiculous.
Update: 30 mintues still waiting to just make an appointment. With only 4 people in the waiting area.... It's really ashame, i wont have time to do my blood work and will have to come back.
They barely deserve one star. I was treated like an inconvenience more than a patient. I brought in my twin one year olds, one with a severe rash. We waited for over an hour. Then the doctor asked me what I thought was wrong....and prescribed ibuprofen. Next time I'll go to a hospital that treats their patients like human beings.
My husband was emergency admitted to this facility in June. He was there for an extended period of time. The doctors, nurses, and surgeons surpassed our expectations! We were 22 hours from our home. This was very frightening for me. Our children made arrangements to be there with us. Everyone at this hospital treated my husband with the utmost care and respect, kept his hopes high and was phenomenal about keeping our entire family informed on every decision on medical treatment that was necessary. My entire family expressed our gratitude to all of them, including the fine kitchen help and cleaning crew! We felt that God was truly watching over us in our time of need! I cannot thank you all enough! May God bless each and every one of you!!
I have received care here three times for three entirely different problems and have always found the staff to be courteous, attentive, and very thorough. I was hesitant to go based on previous reviews but as a military dependent who is still waiting to see my PCM, I have found the care here to be wonderful. I haven't ever been treated badly by anyone, despite being there three times in a short period and would recommend it to anyone who was on base. Maybe by luck, I've never had to wait longer than 20 minutes to be taken to a room.
Giving a 1 star for parking, Staff who is working should not be allowed to take up all the handicap spaces, there's been times I see visitors who need the van access to load and unload the space isn't available becouse of the staff taking those spaces. Hospital itself is great no complaint for me.
Every time I had to visit Eisenhower Army Medical Center, I never had an issue. The doctors there helped me with no matter what the problem. Like any medical facility, the appointments never start on time, but I expect that to happen no matter where I go. The biggest complaint I have is that you may spend hours at the pharmacy in order to get your medication. Overall not too bad.
All the TVs in the rooms are broken. NO TV IS WORKING.Been this way over a year. They forget to bring ALL the food you ordered.one star for us. The hospital pharmacy is terrible.
Being the oldest standing army hospital it's nice. The staff is what makes it great. Not that it matters if you are seen here your on tricare and dont really have a choice. It's very good.
I know I read everybody reviews about this hospital. As for me I like coming to this hospital. It have everything I need when I come by. I always come a1hrs before my appointment so I can get a haircut. Since I being getting my hair cut here, never waited more than 10min (love that). Also like to come in the morning for breakfast. They have a self serving line after the cafeteria is close. You get everything you need for a good breakfast. The plus its you can find a good sit, either sitting inside or outside. I like sitting outside. So if you want a good breakfast, come early and enjoy. Now the hospital parts. I have being to also every department in this hospital. I was always treated well and taking care of. The only negative I have is when you come for your appointment you have to always wait a long time and they rush you thru so they can get to the patient. Its nothing new for me, every military hospital I being too does the same thing, You just to wait. Civilian is the same way. Make you think, why do u have appointment?
Capt Hoh was so very helpful when I had an issue with a prescription. I saw how busy the pharmacy was, but she took the time to speak with me and intervene on the problem and resolve it quickly. I really appreciate her courtesy and professionalism.
Can't say enough. Been getting treatment here since '97 and they have always taken such good care of me and my family. Recently had hip replacement and received top-notch service.
Omg where do I begin. This place is horrible no awful no just down right texas chainsaw massacre. If you want to die come here. They are under staffed and medically ignorant. Who ever heard of only 2 doctors for an ER? Some of them need to go back to medical school how is it possible you don't know which medicines might interfere with one another. There is no way I will ever go this place again and to think I went just for a stomach ache and nausea. I walked out of this place not only having my same pain but hurting more from those incompetent people sticking me with needles in my arm. Take my advice just don't come here.
EAMC provides free or lower cost healthcare. Like all socialized medical care, waits are long, choice is nonexistent, and personnel are less than courteous & professional. The doctors are usually sufficient.
I had obgyn appointments in family medicine. I saw 5 different doctors during my time here. 1 was amazing the others were pretty good. I would switch my schedule around in order to see Dr. Heggers. She is so intelligent, kind, knowledgeable and patient. Thank you for delivering my baby. Almost had the same birthday! I will miss you!
Rude staff. I have never received such poor care at any hospital in my life. They refused to refer me off base after multiple phone calls and requests for them to do so. I don't think they even put anything regarding this on file to get started after weeks of telling them to. So disorganized in how they do everything.
I have had three surgeries here. 1 for knee and two for Cancer and I felt at ease all the time. I did my chemotherapy treatment here too and they took great care of me. The Doctors and nurses kept me informed and made me feel very comfortable. Great Oncology Department.
I must say, the staff is pretty rude. One staff member had to make my mom move out of her way so she could move past us in the hallway. This after being told by PACU that my father would only be there 30-45 minutes, and instead was 1 1/2 hours getting to his room. One or two staff members were pleasant and the food in the cafeteria was fairly good. This, however, does nothing to help with being treated like second-class.
My Son had an Allergic Reaction to Immunizations, the Army misdiagnosed him, failed to treat him. MNDA encephalitis, with ITP is not psychological, it is Medical.Thank God he got out of there! All they wanted to do is pump him full of drugs.
Great hospital, staff is very professional. Insufficient parking spaces, this hospital is huge and its begging for additional parking spaces. A multi-story parking could be the solution.
This "hospital" is a joke. I don't know why I keep coming back here and expecting it to be different. I don't understand how they can justify calling this an ER. Waited over four hours to be seen for severe back pain from an injury, and when they finally called me back they stuck me in an eye exam room, sitting up in a chair...for someone with back pain. What a joke.
I ve had to go here multiple times and honestly it s hit and miss. If I didn t have to get my prescriptions filled here, I wouldn t. It s a long wait and the people at the window are just rushing you and often times extremely rude unless your in uniform. Never have I been treated with such disrespect.
What an amazing hospital! The doctors are brilliant and caring. The nurses in the ICU are one of a kind!!!!!! Wow. Everyone of these nurses work together and help each other. What a team! The respiratory technicians are so compassionate. The physical therapists team are true cheerleaders. Thank you all. May God bless you all.
I was so thankfull to the staff en team at the ER, it was a wonderful experience they really know how to take care so well...with full of love and compassion on their duties. So gratefull with the 3 ladies they did take good care of me! May GOD bless u and your family!
No one answers the phones anymore. The Info desk at 787-5811 answers, but then connects you to a clinic or office that doesn't answer. And yet all their prerecorded messages urge you not to come there during the pandemic, if at all possible. When you can get an appointment, the care is OK as far as I can tell. But if you need to contact someone there, forget it.
The level of care here is insane. I am getting tricare select so I can get my wife the proper level of care. We are at 24 weeks and still have not had a 20 week ultrasound. This has been a very unsatisfactory experience. I have made many phone calls and have gotten no where. Yes I am making a formal complaint.
I feel like they are so crammed with appointments and patients that the medical professionals do not give proper care and recommendations. It feels like an assembly line and they placate issues and concerns. Community Care is slightly better, than Family medicine, but similar.
Specialty Care
Over the years I have visit several of the specialty care doctors and I must say am always given great care and service.
So that's the reason for the 3 star rating. Specialty care is great, primary care sucks.
I had to bring my father here after the flooding in SC and they took very good care of him. The doctors and staff were very courteous and caring. I would bring him back here in a heartbeat for excellent care!
Records: If you are pregnant while transferring be sure to ask separate request for your films and records. Oh and get the locations information for them because they don t look it up. Family Medicine: Will set up appointment at the time their doors open. You can t get in earlier. If your appointment is at 9 and their doors open at 9 you will be late. So their entire day is behind. Don t bother being early for appointments because they are about at least 10 minutes behind. Nurses and Doctors: They are really nice. I will update at later date. Check-in desk: You have to clarify who want to set up your next appointment with. I was meant to see a doctor my second appointment but they booked me with a nurse. Wouldn t be a big deal but I needed to see my OB ASAP.
Typical military hospital. Central appointment personnel are so incompetent I usually have to call three times to finally talk to someone with any sense..typical government employees.
i was in that hospital in 1980 before i was discharged for my disability it was like a 5 star resort beautiful ad looking out the windows on those hot summer days i could see the sun haze off the pine trees great memories
My mom got really great care at this hospital, until the Doctors told her the place on her breast, was an acne bump. Her little dog stepped down on her breast, and, that night, when she went to bed, it had swollen, to the size of a dime. It has been itching, and, now it's infected. They did no tests, nothing for her. She has now stopped taking all of her medications, stopped seeing any doctors, and, she is going to die. I don't want this to happen to her, as she is my mother, and, I love her. Her friend who has had breast cancer, told my mom, the itching is a sign of Cancer. Eisenhower, should have done everything that they could have done, for her, since my stepdad was in the army, for 21 years, and, a Purple Heart recipient. I'm sure he would be ashamed, of how this hospital, has treated his wife. He died in April 2018. My mom isn't taking her medicine since he died, and, they did nothing, for the place on her breast. No insulin, high blood pressure, no medicine at all, and, she won't come back, or take any medicine, unless they do right by her! Dr.Mary Smith and another dr.told her it was just a acne bump, then why does it itch and now it is infected? Can you give me feedback on this. Now she what's an outside cancer Dr. to look at it,and the doctor at Eisenhower told her that she would have to come back to see them before she could do that.WHY?You didn't help her with her problem when she was coming out there.I believe she needs to see a cancer doctor like her friend has told her to do.The more time goes by it seems like the place on her breast is getting a lot worse. We need your feedback .Please post public and Doctors.
Takes entirely way too long to get care on any level. Baby visit you wait 45 minutes past appointment time. Prescription pickup 1 hour for one small bottle of vitamin D. Wife emergency visit two hours for one scan that took longer than 45 minutes. This place is just awful when it comes to actual healthcare.
Trying to get an MRI appointment is like pulling teeth!!!! I've left messages like I'm supposed to and NO call back as of yet and it is going on 3 weeks!!!
The ER responded very quickly when I arrived and informed them I had been in an accident. They all jumped into action and got me assessed and appropriate tests performed! Very satisfied
Dr Connor in family medicine is a legal opioid dealer. Who in their right mind prescribes 60 percocet pills each month to a patient for long term treatment? Long term as in over 7 years. Who does he answer to that allows this?
Dont expect to find help once they have hooked you on opioids if your are not active military either. And forget about finding a treatment center in the state of Georgia that takes Medicare or TriCare for life. Your only option is a place in Augusta called Rivermend which charges 1k a day because Tricare and Medicare are not taken at this facility.
The ER is also apart of this ongoing opioid crisis. If you ever need a fix, go into the ER for chest pains. Your ECG can come back fine and they will still give you a highly addictive morphine fix. Dr Akers who happens to have one star reviews online for having a big ego and being rude to his unlucky patients states its protocol. Guess what? Doctors Hospital doesn't use this protocol this trap house Eisenhower uses. You all are a huge part of the opiod crises. Take responsibility, inform your higher ups for a change before this gets even further out of hand and ruins more of the lives of those who have served this country. There are other options for long term pain medications. There are other options for treating chest pains in the ER.
Avoid Dr. Vincent Carl Bentley, MD cat all coast. In my opinion you might get wrongly diagnosed and get your skin chemically burned to crisp for getting the wrong prescription. See the picture.
The staff is very unorganized. I am currently dealing with the OB/GYN clinic and the doctors and nurses, and even the secretaries are never on the same page about anything. I am treated like a brand new patient by the front office staff every time I go into the office for a pregnancy check up. They hardly ever answer the phones, and I always have to call the doctor to remind him to put in orders for my lab work and to make future appointments. I have asked several times to be referred out of that hospital and they refuse to do so. I would never recommend this hospital or clinic to anyone.
The optometry section needs to get their stuff together, and stop making military personnel lose their time to by not losing their prescriptions and orders for glasses.
The staff at Eisenhower is extremely friendly, no complaints there.....but that's about where the praise ends for me. It seems as though there is a massive lack of medical professionals and patients, and between the different departments within the hospital. In many cases it feels as though people have been promoted to their highest level of incompetentcy. This miscommunication results in wasted time, duplication of procedures, and general unpleasantness for the patient. The other huge issue I have is the lack of separation between healthy and obviously sick patients. In Radiology for example, I waited for a knee xray alongside someone with a hacking cough, runny nose, and watery eyes. 36 hours later, I received the gift that keeps on giving, a very nasty viral respiratory infection. Fast forward to 10 days later and a follow up appointment. This time, I left with hand, foot, and mouth disease. These are preventable by simply keeping the obviously ill people in a separate waiting area. Calling to schedule an appointment is also extremely frustrating. I called 3 times today to schedule an appointment, each time to be told by a recording that my wait time was upwards of 28 minutes. I think the ideas in place are good, but until the communication improves, Eisenhower will continue wast time and money. The waiting areas are a cesspool of disease, and that could also be easily prevented in many cases by mainting "well patient" waiting areas.
I LOVE YA MUCH BABY GIRL YOU ARE YOU ARE A GREAT friend and I'm not sure if you and your family are doing well I hope you have a great day and I'm not sure if we can get together for a while and I will be there for you
It's too bad Google does not allow 0 star reviews because the employees behind the optometry desk certainly deserve less than 1. Asking them for help is quite the tumultuous task, perhaps performing their job is outside the employee's purview. Forget Soldier readiness, your medpros will need to stay red.
Disorganized, and calls back the wrong patient 20 minutes late, then says to go wait in the lobby until you are called correctly (30 minutes after appt.). Maybe call by last name and first name and this wouldn't happen. I hope I dont ever have to come back!!!
First, my PCM is absolutely great. My wife and I have never had a better one. Dr. Packer is an awesome woman and has stayed on top of everything. That being said, my wife is going through a few things and one that has the potential to be fatal and yet we we see the nurse she either has no idea what is going on or has no idea what she is doing. We have been waiting over a week for some information that we should have gotten a few weeks ago. So it either rude or just straight up incompetence.
Idk what's slower, the ER or there pharmacy. I've been on hold as caller number 1 in que for the pharmacy for 13 minutes and that's after calling several times for the phone to ring endlessly or for me to get a busy signal. Unless you're in uniform you'll probably be waiting away least 15 minutes in person for a pick up. I've had to wait so long at the ER that I've just walked out. I've been a few times and even once you get to the back they mosey around while you're sitting there waiting. I've had a nurse tell me she forgot I was there and went to take her lunch. This is by far the slowest hospital I've ever seen with the least concerned staff that I've ever come across. Maybe if you walk in and pass out on the floor they'll take you seriously but otherwise good luck actually being helped.
My grandmother went to the er on a Saturday . It is now Thursday afternoon, and the doctor is just now calling to say she has a uti and is prescribing an antibiotic
Ever sense my husband retired, and we have been going to Ft.Gordon.I have 2 major surgery, and I was very pleased with the help and the staff of Doctors and Nurses I am thankful for all they have done for my husband and myself.
horrible patient care. I have filed over 20 complaints and never heard back from one of them. And when I called to check status it is always lost. Trying to get an sick appointment is usually 3 to 4 weeks out and wellness appointment are about 3 months out. There ER has horrible rude nurse and doctors.
It's extremely hard to book appointments when all you get is the busy signal everytime I call. I feel sorry for the people who are really sick trying to book an appointment. Do your job and pickup the phone.
Won't schedule me an appointment. And i dont just mean not able to get me in soon, i mean at all. I asked if they had any further out too like next week because im willing to wait if need be, and they kept saying "call tomorrow morning to try to get a same day appointment"
Went to the ER twice, waited less than 10 minutes both times. All Staff members were helpful and friendly. I tried to be friendly even though I was in so much pain in my back, feet, and legs. Everyone was friendly right back. I seen Dr. Jacques Pye the first visit. He sent me ultrasound and quickly found the problem! Unfortunately, about 22 days later I was experiencing breathing issues with chest and back pain. I had to come back. I seen Dr. Joycelynn Gray this time and she was probably the best ER physician I've ever met. Very articulate and explained everything to me. I had a good experience both ER visits, and my PCM at the time (Dr. Deborah Packer ) was fantastic in coordinating my care. I'd definitely go back. I hate that others did not feel or experience the same thing. There are good care providers within these walls. I'm truly grateful for all the Service Members, their Families, and those who care for them!
I am setting in the pharmacy waiting room after dropping off me request two days ago. So far hour wait so what is the point of dropping off early. Four windows open. Pharmacy tecks absolutely no sense of urgency Suspect since I am retired they are waiting on me to die
This hospital does not even deserve one star. All the civilian in this place should not work there. They are extremely rude and talks you like you no brain. I am not sure how the immunization stuff got their jobs. The appointment Line never work so you can t even schedule an appointment and most of the time the doctor won t even prescribe you the right medicine or any medicine. Waste of time. I feel sad for patients that has to go here.
