Comfy seats, great coffee to take away and drink while watching the film. Thoroughly enjoy the Tyneside on every visit. Beautiful building and located well if you're looking to combine with dinner. Love a Tyneside double bill!

Best cinema in the North East! Great programme, lovely space, the cafe is fine, too, and it's in the centre of town. Only downside is you get numbered tickets (at least in their 'Roxy'), which is a tad annoying as you then can't choose your own seats. Hence 4 not 5*.
Support this local cinema, theres not many left and this one is stunning, inside and out. Great choice of films and offer loads of discounts for concessions.
Fantastic place. Not only is there a cinema but they have restaurants and a coffee shop offering a good selection of food and drink. Staff are very friendly and helpful
I hate multiplex cinemas with the awful smell of food that people seem to need to last 2 hours without. None of those horrible smells and noisy eating here, just people enjoying good movies in very pleasant surroundings.
Absolutely the best cinema in the world, as far as I'm concerned! A great selection of arthouse and foreign films, fun films evenings and events, and the restaurant and museum sections are also excellent. Definitely go whenever you're in Newcastle
Despite the stairs that snake up to the top. The cinema is pretty good. Some rooms are tiny which I felt is best suited for showings such as Boy Erased. The staff are vidigilant and the cinema can be difficult to find if you haven't been before. Otherwise I have no gripes about it.
Excellent experience, disability aids are high quality (headphones for hearing impaired, and audio description), very beautiful cinema. Every screen is different, snacks are beautiful and price is cheaper than big chains
This hidden gem a stunning Art Deco Cinema in its heyday is a really class act abounding with character. It s still got the power to enchant you now with it's old world charm, and it's lost non of it s charisma despite being discreetly modernised in places. The proprietors have managed to skilfully upgrade it without losing the original structural features that make it an utterly exquisite building. The enchanting decor and period features transport you back in time giving you a very retro feeling. It has a stylish cafe which serves meals, snacks and good coffee with an interesting range of alcoholic beverages. The films in keeping with the cinema tend to be mainly Arthouse, Art Novo with the best of foreign World Cinema plus some blockbusters. The cinema screens are good quality and the seats are modern and comfortable. I heartily recommend this cinema, it will prove to be an interesting and enjoyable experience.
The best Cinema in Newcastle hands down. Watching films in a setting this nice makes them far more enjoyable. Lovely atmosphere, good food and fair prices make it my go to cinema.
A great independent cinema set in a gorgeous building. I've been here a few times and it's always a pleasant time. They also have a great selection of movies.
An independent cinema with smaller screens/rooms which makes for a more intimate and pleasant time. They do show blockbusters but also a variety of unique films and specials. There is 3 "eateries " where you buy everything from a coffee to More
Cinema is perfect for the person who enjoys a nostalgic feel with modern amenities. Stadium style seating with comfortable seats. Options to enjoy time at the cafe or read about cinema history.
Great niche very old cinema and cafe complex.central Newcastle beside Monument Metro station. Giod range films. Screen not enormous but adequate same size as a multiplex normal screen not the mega size. Cafe all very good with newly updated menusand drinks
A classic Cinema experience with a great venue, entertaining events, a nice selection of Ales, a licenced screen and tasty food. However the Cinema seats are too low so screen gets blocked by peoples heads. I recommend paying more for the couches too, very comfy.
It was like a theatre, traditional cinema which the seating arrangement is not from first floor to ground floor. The screen is like on the stage so that audience are able to see it clearly, the environment is clean and the sound system is great. It was my first time watching movie in the UK and I think it's worth the price.

The Tyneside Cinema is one of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne's gems, and has been a part of the skyline since 1937, and was modernised a few years ago. This is cinema like it used to be. There are a number of screens with different character, and all have been modernised. There is also a bar and cafe. I would describe this place as "charming" to see a blockbuster or art film, and there are also school educational programmes and events. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is disabled access. If you are used to mass produced movie venues, then you will find this an entirely different experience.
Another lovely afternoon at the Tyneside Cinema. Enjoyed movie The Party, a dark comedy which appealed to my sense of humour. The into the Cafe Bar for good beer and lovely food.
Went to see the Laurel and Hardy film was a perfect venue for the film showing in the classic screen.. Lots of individuality and added extras... they had extra archive film you wouldn't get to see anywhere else - great film - fabulous cinema
