The Tyneside Cinema is one of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne's gems, and has been a part of the skyline since 1937, and was modernised a few years ago. This is cinema like it used to be. There are a number of screens with different character, and all have been modernised. There is also a bar and cafe. I would describe this place as "charming" to see a blockbuster or art film, and there are also school educational programmes and events. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is disabled access. If you are used to mass produced movie venues, then you will find this an entirely different experience.
