What isn't there to love about Tyneside Cinema? It has history, a bar, a cafe and of course cinema screens which are all different. They play a wonderful variation of indie, niche and mainstream films. They occasionally screen older films too at Halloween and Christmas. The Tyneside Cinema team are always lovely and help you as best as they can. They do a lot for the community of Newcastle! It always feels relaxing going into a modern-vintage cinema rather than a mainstream one.

This is a wonderful old style cinema which also has a great bar area and a big seated area.
They serve great food and it is not expensive.
They also have a baby area where prams can be easily accommodated.
The atmosphere is very vibey.
The service is also excellent.

I consider Tyneside Cinema to be one of the best offers of Entertainment in Newcastle. It maintains a small friendly atmosphere, welcoming and with customer care at the top of it's priority list.

Typically, box office staff can give a clear, concise and intelligent overview of films; allowing for ease of viewing selection.

Never afraid to experiment in it's portfolio of films, it also screens 'Mainstream' in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Stretching boundaries into collaboration with the University, Tyneside Cinema in my opinion is not only the best cinematic offer in the region, but one of the best offers that the region can provide.

Going to the cinema is a wonderful experience in most places. Going to the cinema HERE is a whole other level of greatness. Very good prices and a wonderful atmosphere. As a tall person I also appreciate the amount of leg room provided (more than the usual odeon or empire). The bar is also wonderful with good atmosphere and prices

I much prefer the iconic Tyneside Cinema to the run of the mill cinemas.
No Nachos and chilli stinking the place out, no idiots playing with their phones or behaving like morons!
There's a great range of films including specific genre titles, and they have great eateries.
You can save money by becoming a Friend of the Tyneside; discount on tickets and in the coffee rooms (my favourite of the eateries), and it's a really interesting place.

Excellent Cinema, show some of the less mainstream films as well as the current blockbusters, really enjoy my trips here and it's great that the cinema is in toon as one can tie a visit in with so many other things...

Nice cinema

Nice cinema
Different to your usual cinema and a nice experience. Saw a movie in screen one which was set up like a theater with circle seating. Interesting take on cinema experience and enjoyable. Staff friendly and place is clean and nicely presented throughout. Only downside was sound quality which is not up to scratch compared to a traditional cinema complex.

I originally went because it was the cheapest place I could see Joker with some friends, but I was surprised at how pleasant it was. It had a great atmosphere, convenient surrounding area and polite, supportive staff. I will make an effort to go here again in the future.

You've got to visit this independent cinema hidden away in the middle of Newcastle. It's full of character and definitely a hidden gem and a really lovely place to see movies.

A number of screens showing the latest stuff, but also some "off the beaten track" screenings to get you to see different things. The restored main cinema is amazing, and up in the balcony are a limited number of armchairs and a small bar to make watching the film even more enjoyable and relaxing.

A must visit in Newcastle.

I have not only caught a film, but played a New Years Eve gig, scranned my tea and quaffed many pints of beer here. I'm not into films, cinema or telly watching but I enjoyed my James Bond slice of movie action with the lads and this joint shows a film or two for real. The NYE gig (several years back) was very much an after thought for the venue, but we smashed it out as Boys of Brass and the crowd vibe was encouraging. Very friendly staff of suitable efficiency work their shifts serving pretty decent ales, wines, coffees and grub. This is definitely a popular central attraction so head down if you're into anything I've mentioned above.

It's my 2nd visit to the Tyneside Cinema. I booked by phone and was offered Balcony seats with sofa sitting, which I chose. Seating area was spotless, sofa very comfortable with plenty of leg room. Staff very cheerful and helpful. It is more expensive than my local cinema but well worth it.

A cinema experience of the past brought into the future. Ditch the soulless local multiplex and experience something far more intimate. There are a number of different screens of different sizes including a 4k screen. Check the website to see details.

The best thing about moving up north for me is this magic place! A real haven for film lovers and people who appreciate good coffee. The staff, the venue itself and the selection of films available to see are all absolutely brilliant. You will find no other similar establishment outside of the capital. GO! Immediately..

I confirm the previous opinions on the Blandy store: great care taken in the cleanliness of the premises, satisfactory and young team, modern and comfortable armchairs like at home, a fairly fast checkout and attractive prices.

I love going to the Tyneside. This visit though, I was allocated a seat inbetween two guys when the screen had plenty of seats still available, which was a bit strange. I moved because there was still empty seats during the ads and I was a bit uncomfortable. I still enjoyed the film.

Visit the Tyneside Cinema and you'll find a beautiful building, knowledgeable staff who are passionate about movies, and a great selection of indie and foreign films that the mainstream cinema chains rarely show.

We recently watched the Oscar-winning 'Parasite' in the Classic screen. It was a busy weekend showing in which nearly every seat was sold out, but the audience was respectful with no glaring phone screens or loud conversations. Indeed, if you're looking for a place to watch a film with like-minded movie aficionados, the Tyneside should always be your first choice.

Of all the screens, the 'Electra' on the top floor is my favourite, with some of the comfiest seating I've ever experienced at a UK cinema.

Standard ticket prices tend to be slightly pricier than at Cineworld, Vue, and Odeon, however I always view it as an investment in a wonderful cultural venue that serves the people of Newcastle in a variety of ways (they do great work with young and disadvantaged people). There's also special ticket deals for OAPs and people on low incomes/Universal Credit.

Keep up the excellent work, Tyneside Cinema staff!

I returned to the cinema after years away from Newcastle. Such a welcoming place to come back to and get a sense of Newcastle. I took a free tour which was really interesting. Thank you, I'll be back to watch a film soon

Amazing cinema with independent films galore and lots of great training courses to create the next generation of filmmakers and screenwriters. Some seats are better than others, but is part of the experience.
