Tyneside is great for letting you see old films back on the big screen. They have lots of events and special showings - I've been to see The Godfather, Rocky 4 and Die Hard over the years. Cinema is a charity and relies on memberships etc. Bar downstairs is great. Good crowd of people come here - no riff-raff, it's more students etc. Cinema snacks are a bit limited and no hot popcorn on offer, it's just poured from bags. But otherwise it's a great quirky little cinema. Decent size screens, comfy seats, always clean. Definitely recommend.

Good food but the service is very hit and miss ie some days the staff see to you straight away other days on can wait and get no service and you have to get them to come out from the bar and take your order.

A wonderful place that shows films of quality and importance. The staff have a passion for film and there are many ways to save money on ticket prices including membership options. There are accessibility lifts and toilets on most floors. A cafe and food stalls on most floors too along with special screenings for those with special requirements like Dementia screenings and Screenings that are autism friendly.

A quaint cinema with a beautiful interior. I have been to two different screens- one which resembles a rich gorgeous theatre and another which is just like your typical cinema screening. It has a cafe on site where alcoholic beverages may also be purchased. It also shows movies which are not usually available in other cinemas. Truly worth a visit.

Fabulous old school cinema. If you don't have time to see a movie when you're in Newcastle, see if you have time to catch one of the fascinating & historic newsreel that they show for free. And grab a seat in the gallery if you can.

Love this cinema it has so much more character than multi plex . lovely building and good cafe as well as smaller and more intimate screens. Just saw Darkest hour and looking forward to The Post on Sunday!

Quirky cinema. Sofas upstairs. Sells beer and wine that you can take in. Only negative is that the screen is quite small. Great for alternative films, but maybe not for a blockbuster action film

The go to venue for indie films and a range of great arts events. Also has a nice bar with good food and drinks. Best place to drink in the cinema. Good screens with quality sound and comfortable seating

Lovely small cinema in the city centre . There are mainstream films but also special screening such as National Theatre live . I enjoy the seasons they put on such as Spanish films . There s a great cafe next door while you wait for the film .

I love this place because they do not serve smelly food for chavs to eat in the cinema. For god's sake, why will people not either go for a meal or go to the cinema. Anyway rant over, fabulous place, fabulous staff, fabulous lack of hot dogs and cheesy nachos. A gem of a place

Called into the tea rooms for a lunch, although it's a nice place, decor, ambiance etc. It was too noisy to hold a meaningful conversation, for me...
Staff were friendly, and they couldn't do enough for us.
