DO NOT STAY AT THIS 4 STAR DUMP! Not worthy of the Hilton name. The reservationist lied and said the hotel and rooms were recently updated. This hotel is old, and has not been updated in years! You can tell by the old, worn, filthy carpet that is stained and buckling everywhere. The hotel smells like mildew and smoke; several other hotels with casinos do not smell like smoke such as Ceasars palace or MGM so don't believe the lie that all of them smell like smoke. Our room had old, broken furniture, peeling shower wall, and the toilet was old and disgusting. They need to spend the money and update or downgrade to a 1-star hotel. The positive reviews for Tropicana are very deceptive. No one who has ever stayed in a four star hotel would expect to see this. I gave 1 star for the nice staff and comedy show. PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS THAT TELL YOU THE HOTEL AND ROOMS ARE OLD, CRUDDY AND OUTDATED! They are being honest. I'm so disappointed in Hilton.
It was great experience, rooms very clean, workers really friendly and smiling all the time, we got to connected rooms which was great and the location was amazing, service really quick and they made it really easy for us..I will definitely go back there
A pretty cool casino, really big, and if you wanna gamble, shop or sleep this is definitely a good option
I walked through here while walking along the strip. Parking is spacious and free for Tropicana customers. The inside casino is nice, but not as fun and interesting as some of the other casinos.
The hotel was reasonably clean and the floor in our room was still damp from a carpet shampooing. There was little to do in the hotel. Tha majority of machines were not setup. As for dining there were only a few overpriced uninteresting options.
We went to Biscayne steakhouse. Typical price for high end steakhouse (40-55 for an a la carte steak). Very clean restaurant, friendly staff, and great food. The seared scallops were slightly gritty, but the chat and flavor were wonderful. Steaks were large and cooked to the perfect temperature. All around a very good experience for a high end steakhouse.
The Tropicana is pretty far south on the strip but is close to a monorail stop. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. This is a great plaxe to stay if you are on a budget.
This old Vegas icon redone is a nice property to stay at with a bit of a slower pace than many others
I haven't been to Tropicana for several years (before their renovations) and was really impressed when I went in recently. The casino area and overall look was modern and bright. Smokey atmosphere, but had a great time there. Slots paid out well
Older casino, looks a bit better after being reworked a bit. Has actual flamingos!
Just walked through for a drink. Nice hotel, nothing really extraordinary but I wasn't staying there.
Rooms in the paradise tower were nice and clean. You could smell smoke in the non smoking rooms in the club tower. I ate at the Bacio fire breakfast and everything was delicious.
Stayed here using Hilton points as a diamond member. The rooms are outdated even with the upgrade. My wife and I had breakfast to go and the bar tender was very rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend this place.
Stayed at another hotel but enjoyed the slot machines
Super clean hotel and simple layout, unlike the larger casinos
Still a nice place, not in the top level but they do alright with it.
Magic show with Murray was ver fun!
Love valet parking here. People are nice and have great memories!
I did not visit here. Maybe my wife did. I wonder who she was with?
I recently stayed at the Tropicana for the second time and if I could go back in time and save my money I would. When we showed up and checked in, we got told we would be staying in a room in the "bungalows" which was supposed to be similar to the rooms in the new tower. It would've been nice for them to let us know before-hand but we figured its not that big of a deal. 10 minutes later after enjoying a "wonderful" journey through the numerous hallways and elevators to get to our room, we had arrived... Only to be even more disappointed. It looked as if somebody hadn't stayed in the room since the 90's. We walked in, the light in the entrance was burnt out, the bathroom was half-a**ed cleaned with only a few hairs here and there (no biggie), the view out our window was breath-taking (only if HVAC systems excite you. They were on the roof outside our window and close enough to suck the breath out of your lungs), but the big thing I noticed was.. it was half the size as the rooms in the tower!!! Had I known I wouldn't have the luxury of a king-sized bed, large CLEAN bathroom, spacious room, and a decent view, I would've stayed at the Super 8 and saved my money. Instead of paying the exact price as those people that were enjoying those delicacies... Anyways after seeing the state of our room we decided to once again journey back to the front desk and see if anything could be done about the situation. We talked to a lady at the desk who seemed more involved in the exciting conversation with her co-worker then to even acknowledge us with eye-contact when we talked. She informed us that the ENTIRE hotel was booked solid and nothing could be done. Although she did ensure us that we would have a new light bulb installed and a roll of toilet paper by morning! Hallelujah, Woopdiyay, Problem solved! We didn't get our light-bulb... But our magical roll of toilet paper was delivered to the room which you needed a GPS coordinate just to get to, the very next morning. I very much dislike this hotel, and I will never EVER stay here again. I believe I have expressed my feeling towards this place. Oh and if you do plan on staying at this hotel, my advice to you, is to ask them when you make your booking if they are planning on sticking you in the "bungalows." Or as I call them "the weeds."
I stay in this hotel several times a year, always friendly staff, the hotel is kept very clean, good location as I prefer that end of the strip. Good size outdoor pool and pool bar. Casino floor has a good atmosphere and the Robert Irvine restaurant is a great new addition and so is the recently renovated casino bar
Great atmosphere. Loose video poker slots and good times.
Weird ghost town. Getting a drink is impossible as I don't think there were any cocktail waitresses, but there sure were plenty of security officers to keep an eye on the 3 people in the casino.
Decent shape place. Didn't have much time to experience the place.
Had some older travelers with me and the hotel was a great size for them. Had everything they needed in mostly easy walking distance unlike some of the mega hotels. Pool area looked great and food we had was all excellent. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. The crowd was younger and overall vibe was great. Will return.
This place is cool. Honesty I could stay here for a long time and not feel tired.
Come here to visit the laugh factory. Shows arent always awesome. Check for groupon or deals no need to pay full price. Wifi in the hotel is brutal! Drinks cost you your shirt.....
It was fun i just went in to play the slots the service was good kind of slow
It is very clean, close to the strip and reasonable in price! We will definitely stay at this hotel in the future!
Saw your Rich Little show and enjoyed it. I was disappointed in your casino atmosphere, however! It seems to be in desperate need of renovations! Your Atlantic City casino, while not great, is in much better shape than this one.
Great updated rooms. Right price for how much actual time one spends in a room in sin city.
Much nicer than it use to be. Small but nice. Decent location toward south end of strip across from MGM Grand, NY NY and Excalibur
Always a pleasant hotel. Good restaurants, excellent staff, nice and quiet location, clean rooms, and a casino that isn't a slaughter house like many farther north on the strip. The table game dealers are always friendly and quick to teach you a game you haven't played. The only real knocks are that they employ excessive power savings with the air conditioning in the hotel room (be prepared to call the front desk to complain; they will send maintenance to adjust the settings), low lighting levels make it difficult to apply makeup in the bathroom, and you will be asked for ID to open a tab at the pool (who the hell carries their ID when swimming?? Be prepared to have run back to your hotel room to get your ID).
The best place to gamble without being smoked out. Close to the WAX bus route to the airport (which works with your deuce/SDX pass), so also a great place to spend your last few hours before flying out.
The rooms were actually really nice for the price we got it for. I was expecting so much less but I was so surprised. Really nice room and the view of the strip was a bonus too.
It is an older hotel, but the room as a good size and clean. priced reasonably.
Came here for the pool because the one at BlueGreen is under renovation, it was great! Very clean, staff is friendly, pool is the perfect temperature!
Even though its a bit aged, the place still holds up. Decent pricing for food and drinks. And many shuttles have a route and drop off here.
Old casino and hotel with very bright and clean interior.
Place to stay! Always a good time and friendly people. Lots more to do now also!
One of the more basic casinos, but rooms were clean and plenty of facilities. They have a lovely pool with a bar. Located close to the airport and across the road from the MGM and Excalibur casinos.
The rooms were clean but just got kicked out of the pool area at 3pm when it says 6pm because it was a bad day it s sunny and 70. Might not seem very hot to locals but it s a nice day and I m from idaho. A lot of people were still occupying the pool area and they still closed down. Very dissatisfied, payed for a room with a pool and didn t even get to use it.
Beautiful but didnt stay long enough to rate the rest
Great Casino. So-so hotel. Many basic amenities absent. We only stayed 2 nights. Ran out of toilet paper. No spare roll. No fridge, however they did manage to bring up the tiniest fridge we'd even seen. It leaned horribly. No microwave. No coffee maker. Nothing stood out as great. It was otherwise comfortable, but there are better places to stay.
Very clean, value for money hotel on the vegas strip.
I wasn't a big winner, but I had fun. I wish they had more $0.25 old school Wheel of Fortune slot machines. I can't get into the animation/video slot machines. Restaurants were ok and rooms were clean.. . needless to say, that when you go to Vegas, you hardly spend time in your room.
I've stayed at the Tropicana twice. This last time, I was not impressed at all. The casino smells like cigarette smoke. I upgraded my room so that I wouldn't have to walk a mile to the club tower. I also paid the additional $29 per night resort fee. The maid service is not very good. They made up one bed and left the other bed unmade and instead of taking the dirty glasses, they left them there and gave us paper cups. The maid also pocketed my brand new designer sunglasses that I bought there in Vegas. I don't recommend this hotel and I certainly won't stay there again. Sad, because I was really impressed with this hotel the last time I stayed there a year and a half ago.
If I could give this place a negative star, I would! I was assigned a room with no air conditioning. I wasn t told at check in but later that night when I called again that the season had changed and they turned off the ac in the bungalows!! It was 80degrees in my room and still hot outside. They should never have turned off the ac or the guest ability to control the temperature in the room. The excuse isn t acceptable
Staff was professional and courteous. Hotel is very nice.
So far so good, engineering staff quickly responded to an AC problem and fixed it promptly, rooms clean, could use a little update but reasonable for the cost, food options spendy, but we are on the strip
Super service. Great room and wonderful price. Wife enjoyed the gaming.
The hotel was clean. Room was very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Charge for "resort fee" which is for thr wifi, gym, pool. Why dont they just charge it upfront. Feels like a rip off
They did a really great job remodeling and updating.
I went and saw a great magician the casino was nice and clean.
I didn't go inside, but it looked like a cool building
Pros: Free parking, beautiful lobby and casino; view; room was clean (when they showed up to clean it); location.
Cons: Everything else, e.g., Housekeeping didn't show up first day; slow internet with mystery fees (was supposed to be free); TV was difficult to operate and had no program guide; no MSNBC available; ridiculously long walk to our car, apparently by design; furnishings somewhat dated; uncomfortable bed; noise from Tropicana Ave; very high resort fee ($40); surprise deposit of $150 posted to my credit card; very high cost for everything sold in hotel.
We didn't let these issues ruin our trip. However, it goes without saying: we are unlikely to ever come back. There are much better options available.
Rooms were nice, bathroom was updated, and staff helped us out tremendously. Thank you Tropicana.
This hotel needs some money spending on it. It is starting to look a little scruffy and our rooms air-conditioning vent was covered in dust that must have been there for months not days. Not recommended. Las Vegas is all false and for show.
Went there for brunch buffet. Bland food...but hey, cheap!
Beautiful place to visit. Best payoff times on slot machines is after midnight. But not very big payoffs.
Great service from staff and a clean environment throughout the hotel
Saw David Goldrake: Imaginarium at the Tropicana Theater. It was great. Can't comment on the hotel or casino. We didn't stay there overnight.
Being in the entertainment biz I couldn t believe after losing $3-5,000 dollars for the yr 2018. That the Tropicana could not comp me 2 rooms. Embarrassing. I don t plan on being back soon or bring any of my guests. Mr. P
Decor was dated but added to the whole Vegas experience
Great piece of old school Las Vegas. Get a room on the top floor, the view is great.
