Really nice staff, really well kept, and awesome space for renting out!
We booked the Tropicana because it is part of the Hilton Brand. It was very smoky, and we were looking more for a relaxing resort, instead of a casino. Thankfully the hostess that checked us in let us cancel a reservation so we could book with the other Hilton property across the street called the Waldorf Astoria.
Restaurants are pricey, but the food isn't that good
If you want to see a retro casino check this one out. Unlike newer casinos, this one is brightly lit and had clearly marked signage to help you find your destination.
Stayed before the renovations - in a junior suite. Same decor as when it was featured in Sean Connery's James Bond films, mirrors on the ceiling above the bed. In a word: smashing.
Nothing special . Same old $8 for a fairly mediocre beer , with noisy locals watching sport on TV... Dont they have TVs at home, and 6 packs ?
You get what you pay for. The rooms aren't the prettiest, but they scream "Las Vegas" and they're pretty cheap. 24 hour room service and gift shop. As well as a Starbucks. This is the authentic piece of Vegas historians look for, and anybody who wants a glance at this city's extensive past should definitely check it out. The rooms are ALWAYS clean too and I've never had a problem with cleanliness here. She's an outdated beauty and this hotel should be treated like one before it's gone.
Stayed at the Tropicana as part of a large business meeting. My room was generally clean and comfortable, but a bit dated. While a few of the common areas had been updated, many appeared old and worn. The casino is small and limited on table games. The food service for the business meetings was very mediocre. The Tropicana serves only Pepsi products, so had to take trip to CVS get decent soft drinks.
Don't gamble if you aren't dressed up in suit and tie. They kicked me out.. Simply put, they judged a book by its cover.
The place is great but no microwave or fridge and talking about overpriced food at the TRAGO LOUNGE even a cup of noodles would of taste better. It is the casino I supposed, we had to throw some of it away no other food place was open
Tropicana was clean and small, a different atmosphere casino than the other resorts in the area. It felt more personal.
Oakvill steakhouse was better than expected. Grest food, excellent wine list and reall good to host a party!
Saw the Purple Rain Prince tribute and it was excellent!!
Bruce Bruce, was hilarious and extremely funny and talented.
WAS THERE THIS WEEKEND. CLEAN COZY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACTION
Wish I could give 0 stars. Elevators didnt work, room service stops at 3 in the afternoon. Restaurants are not open past midnight. Room was filthy. Shower had mold. Only 1 part of the pool was open. Customer service was sooooo rude and would not help with any concern. Will NEVER return to this place! Motel 6 is better!
Craps dealers were friendly and helpful. They realized my betting habits and would remind me when I forgot a bet. Tip them well!
I hadn't been here in years. The place has been redone and looked very clean and modern in the casino. I didn't notice anyone smoking and saw several non-smoking signs which was an extremely refreshing experience for Las Vegas.
Saw the magic show by David Goldrake here, amazing!!! Even had a server come around to offer drinks and popcorn when the show had short breaks! The magic was incredible!
Fun place. Here for 21 birthday of friends son. Having a great time.
Older hotel but still nice. Buffet was good but great. Great for shows and convention!
Clean and comfortable, but not luxury. On the south end of strip, so a bit of a walk to some attractions along the Vegas strip. Has been modernized and updated since Double Tree took ownership a few years ago.
The interior is very nice with a large bathroom, large tv, and helpful staff. Parking was limited and the valet was marked as being full when we arrived at midnight. Check in took a long time due to the late arrival but check out was quick. The food court is fair with quality and prices, but do not go to the buffet because the food is horrible (except for the custom made pizza and pasta station). My wife actually asked for her money back since the food seemed to be old and way too overcooked.
The room and view were lovely, but there were I think dead bugs and mold in the tub. Also, the lights didn't work. Service was okay. The guy for the lights came. He didn't do anything. All he said was that you have to reset them, which didn't make sense.
Went for drinks and gaming, little smaller than the large MGM property's
Do not go - there are way better hotels in Vegas. The room was mediocre, on top of that they charged more tip to my room than I wrote in one of the restaurants, and I had to settle it myself upon checkout, yet they said it would take up to 48 hours for the credit charge to adjust - which it never did! I ended up disputing the charge. All that for being a Hilton Diamond member. I know it's not much, but this was just trash service.
Old Cuba vibe. Clean and we'll kept casino. Very much an older crowd. Lacks the big Vegas shows
I've been there December 22-25/2018 When We get there and they wanted to deliver our stuff to our room, they dropped our stuff and some of them broken but they didn't tell me and when I find out and told them they said we'll take care of them. Now is March 17/2019 and I didn't get any response from them. I called them several times but they didn't care about me.
Great place, Great location, most accommodating hospitality.
Tropicana's recent transformation is very impressive. The whole place is unrecognizable. The room we stayed in was in the club towers. The room itself was nice and clean but the location is way too far from the casino floor which made it very inconvenient for us. And then when we did getTo the casino floor, we found that their selection of slot machines was very limited.
I am disabled and the Tropicana was absolutely fantastic and assisting me. Even provided me with a scooter that had the ability to travel outside and around the strip of Las Vegas. They were absolutely wonderful people and treated us like we were celebrities. As with any place in Las Vegas, be prepared to spend money, even if you don't Gamble.
Nice atmosphere. Nicely remodeled since the last time I visited.
This is the worst please to have lunch, so expensive, food was dry not good at all, save your time and money
Ahhhhhh, just so, so. Smells like smoke and sweat from 40 years ago and no real deals for gambling or food. Needs some work, but room was decently priced and easy access to the better places on the strip.
I feel the Tropicana is so underrated. Parking is free and the gambling is fun and entertaining!
The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were large and the water pressure was good. Nothing over-the-top extravagant but perfect of you don't plan on spending much time in the room. The rest of the hotel had convenient amenities and the staff was helpful.
One of the casino machines took my ticket but wouldn't play when I hit the button to have it serviced I waited 10 minutes and then went to get help from a worker, the machine repair man Mike was of great help and had a wonderful attitude but the pit boss was absolutely rude and questioned me about how long it took for me to look for someone to help me. I waited for someone to assist me in retrieval of my ticket and instead he gave me an attitude, would have stayed longer If the gentleman didn't ruin my mood.
Slightly older style hotel . Conveniently located on the strip near my and newyorknewyork
Cant complain- got my 3 day stay free through MyChoice. Hotel is a bit dated, our original room had a shower issue and toilet, but desk staff switched us rooms and all was well. The slots weren't all that great. But was a great experience. We did really enjoy the Chill'm bar...pool...and taco restaurant. Cant wait to come back.
Beforehand, I am a hilton gold member and i paid 280 usd plus tax for this terrible room. checking out after one night. The walls are made of paper, the is a 0.8 inch gap between the floor and the separating door of my neighbour (a lovely and quiet couple, imagine if i had a party animal) which helped me to understand each and every word. Sleeping was not possible without earplugs. The air-conditioning is setup that it fully blows directly onto the bed with a 100% guarantee to get you sick. I decided to sleep on the floor and build a barricade as you can see in the picture. On top the air-conditioning is automatic this means it turns on an off every 3 minutes making noise, very disturbing. All this for 280 usd plus tax. As my magnetic keycard did not work I tried to get a new one at the bell desk he told me bad luck i need to queue up at the checkin line where i lost 20m, all due to the cheap key cards.
I have lately had so many bad experiences with the Hilton brands in the US that I will switch to another brand while their hotels fall apart. There is no quality standard guarantee by the brands you can rely on. Not suitable for a frequent traveller.
P.S. i forgot to comment that if you lay by the pool at lunch time the sprinklers go off all over the place. A nice way to kick you out of the pool area. not taking the environmental stupidity into account.
After 24h here you are totally stressed out
Getting pretty dated, and the cups left in room were not clean. Reeked of rancid old beer.
Nice hotel with a great atmosphere and a variety of amenities for guests.
Was only there a little while, but it had nice decor and a good atmosphere.
One of the few hotels on the strip that offers free parking still
This pleses is so good. A love. For my next. Vacation. Summer. Time
Friendly staff at outlets, loved Trago Lounge great cocktails, DJ was fantastic sound system in lounge was amazing
OK, here's the thing, the Tropicana is a decent place for a good price. It's on the S end of the strip and close to the airport.
It is however an older hotel. In Vegas.
As such, it's got a lived in/dated vibe to the whole place but, especially the rooms. I'd say the Tropicana is a solid value for Vegas travelers (who aren't with their kids) and aren't caught up in the the swanky glitzy likes of the Cosmo etc.
Don't expect to be impressed but, expect to be satisfied and focus on the money you'll save staying here vs some of the other strip hotels.
Prince tribute was INCREDIBLE! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Smells like cigarettes and has some slot machines.... Ehhh
It is better then it was years ago...but still not a favorite hotel of mine. Friendly staff...decent room (cheap room for me...you hey what you pay for)...and decent accommodations. You can do better...and worse in Vegas.
Walking through the halls I felt the era of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez
Imaginarium at the Tropicana Theater was excellent. Fun show that has a little bit of everything. Highly recommended.
I've been at Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada 12 years ago 7 years ago & last year and just recently this year of August of 16,17 & 18th of 2019. It was a good relocation; and the environment are nice view. The arcades are it's still look brand new. And it's across street is Excalibur Hotel & MGM Hotel is also looks like the two through three miles distance. Come and see the place in Las Vegas Nevada. Bye!
a great little hotel, compared to the larger ones on the strip, situated opposite Excalibur and MGM Grand, we had a fab view of the strip from our room, very spacious rooms with two king size beds.
Very elegant facilities, and an awesome laugh factory comedy club.
It's the smallest casino that I have ever been in. I was very dissatisfied
One of the oldest hotel on the strip. And is trying to get it's mogo back.
Yeah it was very nice at the Tropicana they had some nice machines very decorative the only thing is that things are so high they're $5 and something for an orange juice but it's nice and very entertaining
Beautiful hotel and casino. We'll be back. Awesome custom service.
Beautifully remodeled since last staying here. Comfortable, great location, and excellent valued room
this place has awesome bloody Mary's (but u have to go to bar, not from the floor)...the promotions are awesome. staff is friendly. my only issue w this place is that the slots are super stingy!
Conveniently located on the South end of the strip. Recently renovated. Suffers from the same thing all of Vegas does - way more expensive here than it would be almost anywhere else in the US.
Had great service everywhere but especially from dealers and cocktail servers at the tables. It was fun!
Really nice, but the TV doesn't work. One of the outlets doesn't work either. A piece of trash was left under the desk, but otherwise very clean.
I would give a 0 star.Lost a lot of money gambling there.
Staff was nice and the casio was very clean and well lit.
We did not sleep here however the entertainment was awesome the food was good and the people were fun
