Casino is nice but a bit dated. Wife and I had fun there.
They didn't honor the everyday breakfast buffet package we paid for, and instead gave use one buffet our whole stay.
I was not happy with the Tropicana in Laughlin. The service wasn't all that. My husband is a diabetic, and uses insulin so I asked for a refrigerator they told me it was extra, all other hotels don't charge but they do. We took our waverunners, parking is the worst, it was way in the back of the casino hotel long walk. Rooms were okay, but I will never stay there again.
Friendly environment here. Even the security outside! Very helpful employees and another all time favorite since I lived here in the 90's. Glad it still has all I remembered.
Worst stay ever!!! Every year my husband and I get a room on the strip for a stay-cation for our birthday. The room was not the one we picked for reservations, the phone didnt work and they didn't even try to fix that, and it was so dirty! After a shower you could see the writing on the mirror from another guest, the fan in the bathroom didnt work, the plugs on the lamps didnt work, And to top it off when we finally decided to come back to the room we were locked out no one did anything to even try to rectify any of the problems.
Classic Vegas casino hotel in a great location. Free parking is awesome and easy to access. Note no free parking on Knights game days. Lobby is airy and old school feel but bright and open. Hey gotta luv a place that has Robert Irvine's restaurant and lets them charge $18 bucks for a burger patti while you pay extra for toppings haha.
Wao,my wife my son and I have d best experience ever, everything was perfect ,we will comback soon,:::: location right on d heart of Las Vegas.love it,u r d best.
Update: room service entered my room when I had the Do Not Disturb posted. Never staying here again.
No coffee in room, no fridge, no microwave, AC didn't keep the room cool. Pretty bare bones.
Rooms were not nice for the price. $130 more than other comparable hotels. Staff was not friendly. Casino wasn't very clean. Food was less than average hotel food. Rooms need updated for the price.
You get what you pay for. Room rates are very reasonable, but adjust your expectations. This is not the Venetian or Bellagio. If you are a non-smoker, there is no way you can stand being on the casino floor due to the smoke. When I was there, the credit card and room charging system was down for two days. I found the staff to be indifferent and even rude at times at the brunch restaurant. The room itself was ok. This is just a place to sleep as you explore the rest of Vegas. Eat and gamble elsewhere .
Reasonably priced rooms and free parking helped the Tropicana stand out from other strip hotels. Shower head was raised, which is great for those of us over 6 feet tall. Budget priced eateries leave much to be desired, both in food quality and price. Casino floor was rather small, mostly populated by video slots, very few of which were less than 5 years old. Still, the air is less smokey than bigger casinos with higher ceilings, which is pleasant and access to 3 other high profile resorts are easily walkable thanks to sky bridges that avoid all of the strip's traffic. A free, warm chocolate chip cookie at check in was a nice touch too.
Was given a smoking room after reserving a non smoking room 2 weeks before arriving. The room stank and was not very clean. The staff told me I would be called after the first night to change my room and I never got a call. Then I had to stand in line again at the front desk to change my room at which point I was treated very rudely at the front desk but eventually got a new room which was clean and nice.
Rooms was decent, kinda warm, AC only went down to 68. Slots were a bit tight too.
Room was good, but poor smoke free room still had smoke smell and room noise isolation was poor.
I was able to buy cheap room ticket and was super happy about it, but then I didnt knoe the hotel also charges resort fee regardless and was about 40 per person
Excellent staff. Great rooms. Easy check in (they even gave me warm cookies at check in.)
I gambled at the casino, it's a lot like the rest . I noticed that they don't serve alcohol as frequent when sitting at the machines. It was a bit dull.
Although the hotel is older the staff is wonderful and it's a super fun atmosphere.
It had a lot more machines then I recall from years ago. It was bright and cheerful. I didn't get to see a room so I'm only going off of what the main floor looked like. I was
Great City! Keep your GPS up when driving, allot of quick turns. Don't turn down Las Vegas blvd (the strip) by mistake. If so you will be in for a world of traffic! But definitely see the sites!
Our rooms had no coffee machines. Although we called for one, we have waited over an hour and no machine. Our other option was spending almost $40 for 4 cups of ciffee at Starbucks in the lobby. We were not yet ready to gamble and take advantage of the "free" drinks
We went to the spa and the only thing included was a substandard exercise room. For "only" an additional $18 per oerson we could get lockers and use the steamroom, sauna and hot tub.
This was dispute a $35 pet night "Resort Fee." God knows what other normal smenities we will be charged exhorbitant fees for.
Please just charge me a room rate that covers normal amenities, or charge me a resort fee that includes something of value.
I know this may he the norm for LV, but I also know there are prooerties that do not nickle and dime their guests. These are where we will gamble and spend our money.
Love the smaller, friendlier feel compared to other similar budget on strip hotels
The comedy show we saw was great, but they should work on the A/C in the waiting area, was a bit hot.
Price is great but you're still on the strip. Only a few tables to gamble on so it's not intimidating.
This hotel is an "old dame" of Las Vegas but is nicely kept.
Went to see the new magic show Imaginarium with David Goldrake.
Very nice show
Was not happy with my stay, room a suite was terrible, had to be moved, room service was pleasant, no coffee cups in room called room service, waited hour no response, called back I guest being sarcastic bought 30 coffee cups to room, paid a lot for suite and was terrible stay
Stayed here for 6 nights. Never once won in the casino after shoveling hundreds in for almost a week. Biggest Vegas loss ever. The pool and drinks are great though.
Nice remodel, great location, good staff, great rooms. Only issue is a very small food court and a mediocre buffet.
Amazingly friendly check-in staff. I paid practically nothing but asked for a room with a view. She gave me a huge 17th floor room with fantastic view of the strip! First slot machine I played paid out over $500
The worst Hilton Hotel I've ever been to. But look like a pretty decent casino and had a pretty decent buffet in there too. The location is also the best spot to cross the street to the tram and across the other side is the monorail
I booked a room online then had to pay a $41 resort fee after the fact. The clerk at the desk tryed to stay optimistic and embellish the perks the hotel has but in the end no one should pay a surprise fee that is priced higher than the room itself. Horrible service. Total rip off, never coming back.
Meeting rooms were wonderful and Employees provided Excellent Customer Service will Definitely Visit Again
Checked in at 11:30 pm. At 2:30am our room still isn t ready. I m extremely tired and irritated at the lack of management. Their excuse is the room isn t clean. Most ridiculous thing I ve heard. Won t be coming back here.
Casino looked nice on the inside, it was in great shape for how old it is.
A great place to for family and night life, and a great place to still experience "Old School Vegas!"
Typical casino resort in Vegas. Cleanliness is kept up
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We arrived around 7pm on the first night of our reservation and were told that we didn t request a Non-smoking room and only smoking rooms were available (booked more than 3 months ago). So they rebooked us into a Bungalow room that the customer service rep said was the same cost (lie) for what already paid. The Bungalow was non-smoking, however, when we arrived into our room the temperature was 83 degrees with constant heat pumping into the room. We could not adjust the temperature. We went back to the front desk and they said they were sold out of any other options and that they didn t have any other rooms for us and that there was no air conditioning available in the bungalow rooms but they could give us a fan (fan or not, we cannot sleep in an 83 degree room). So, we had to book with someone else and we lost our reservation and our money. This place is extremely smoky everywhere and we will NEVER even consider this place in the future. Terrible customer service and we lost our money. I seriously can t believe this really happened to us, even with a PAID reservation months in advance. Now staying at Mandalay Bay and this place is clean, beautiful and doesn t reek of cigarette smoke.
Was there for a conference and stayed at the Tropicana. I ended up with a great suite at an incredible price. Would definitely stay again.
At the beginning of the strip, easy to get to stuff and hotel room was clean and comfortable
I stayed on the 18th floor, facing the Airport. What an amazing view 24/7 I didn't want to leave.
Synopsys: friendly staff, clean place, hidden costs, over rated pool, too far south.
Costs: we booked the hotel through Travelocity as part of a flight / lodging package. It seemed fairly inexpensive until I asked what the extra $20 per day was on my card. They charge a "resort fee" for pool use, WiFi, fitness room, etc (those things that have been free in every other hotel I've ever visited). There is no complimentary breakfast option unless you're a Hilton Honors Gold member, nor is there an inexpensive breakfast available ($11 for bagel and coffee).
Staff: they are all very polite. From the receptionists to the cleaning staff, they treat you well. This might be a Vegas thing in general because other hotels were similar.
Cleanliness: very clean. Come on, it's Vegas.
Pool: not what I expected. I saw reviews rating this pool as the best on the strip. I stayed at the hotel 11 years ago and would have agreed back then. They've made renovations and it's now worse. No swim-up bar, no swim-through waterfall, no lazy river, just a plain pool. We started smuggling in our own alcohol after spending $18 for a Bud Light can and plastic cup of premixed sangria. They have swim-up Blackjack, which seemed like a silly gimmick until I realized that if you play right, it can be the cheapest way to get drinks (free while gambling).
Location, location, location: it's a little far south on the strip. Most of the events are more north. The bus ride takes forever in nighttime traffic and you have to walk a few blocks to even reach the bus stop. Look to a 1.5 mile walk if you want the shoe-leather express to the north-ish end or a cab ride will run you about $15 each way with tip.
Overall, we both very much enjoyed our trip to Vegas but are looking forward to trying a different hotel next time.
The room was good, staff great, but no fridge in the room, so 4 stars only.
No 24 hour coffee shop. No place for breakfast at 6am.
Really nicely redone but the Casino was too brightly lit and Pool set up was crowded and weird. Felt like we were right on top of everyone else while laying by the pool.
Room service cheeseburgers were amazing!!! Staff was friendly and helpful. However, do NOT eat at the main floor cafeteria. Horrible, salty, tasteless breakfast sandwiches. I could do better on an open fire in the woods.
love the updated look and feel of this place. Definitely better than it used to be.
Great place for parking at the South end of the strip
Didn't enjoy much about my visit today. I have had far better visits than this morning. I love the Tropicana hotel casino
Great hotel with friendly staff, large casino floor & multiple places to get a bite to eat
The pool is small, the casino didn't have much for keno games which is my style, comedy club was awesome!
Terrible self parking options; bridge to excaliber down during holiday week, smells of cigarettes and reeks of broken lives.
Still - best new players club sign up bonuses.
One of the nostalgic iconic hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Servived the recession of 2008 and bounced back to continue to provide great value on rooms, entertainment and dining. An Original.
Clean room, friendly staff. Nice location for walking on the strip.
As far as Vegas hotel casinos go, the Tropicana is at a lower standard than most. The rooms are clean and adequate with no fridge or amenities other than 2 small waters. A big complaint is the room temperature. It never stays on for long enough to cool the room sufficiently regardless of what the temperature is set to on the thermostat. It stayed at about 71 even though the temperature was set to 68. Called front desk and they were very hospitable when I finally spoke to a manager. New room had same issue. Hard to sleep for me if room is not cool enough. Also, the pool area is pretty lame. No way was this voted "best pool in Vegas"! Rates are fair, casino small and limited. Sports book and small amount of TV's is terrible but... A short walk to MGM Grand.
One of the oldest casinos. Claustrophobic ceilings, peeling paint, but great service. Came for Laugh Factory though, which was awesome. :)
It was really great getting to take photos at a red carpet and talk business with some of my colleagues. Overall a great time and hope to go back eventually soon.
I have visited a lot of Hotels in Vegas and the Tropicana is probably one of the most average. Clean But average
Remodel is super nice. I expected it to be dirty but it was super clean and more up to date than others
Who ever is in charge of lounge needs to be fired. We come to hear live music that is not noise restricted.
Very clean and staff is very helpful. We were on the 16th floor and it was quiet. Upon checkin, you are given a fresh warm, homemade cookie. Free parking and valet parking also. Located across the street from the Excalibur and within walking distance to several other popular hotels in the area.
Great hotel, brilliant location and cheaper than others on the strip. Would recommend
Great location and connected to neighboring hotels via an outdoor sky bridge. Rooms are spacious but carpet getting a grungy and bathroom decor showing its age. Being in a hotel along the strip affords convenience but also ensures you don t get a very dark room at night. The hotel lights come through the plantation shutters so hard to fall asleep without eye covers on. Gym small and only open from 5a till 7p. If you re looking for a quick overnight stay near the airport, this is it but go elsewhere if you re looking for a little more luxury. Casino lobby like most other hotels in Vegas allow smoking so asthma folks or those sensitive to cigarette smoke beware.
Very clean interior with a very gracious noise level.
Well located, just at the beginning of the Strip, just few steps away from the MGM Grand, Excalibur and New York New York. Rooms were nice. Out of the 3 rooms, one had a slightly weird smell but wasn't too bad. Out of all Las Vegas Casinos I found this found had the most cheap cigarette smell on the floor as compared to other places. Staff is however really nice and helpful.
Friendly staff, clean rooms and great slots to play.
Since remodel, Tropicana is a nice casino with plenty of space and good selection of slots
The Hotel is a little older but I LOVE IT for that reason. It takes me back to a different time. This is one of my favorite Hotels when we go to Vegas. We mix it up but usually end up here at least once a year!
Loved the suite we upgraded to. Enjoyed the pool. Great breakfast .
The moment I walked in to the Tropicana hotel I was immediately relieved by the feel of the perfect air conditioning and greeted by the lights and sound of laughter and the casinos. Everything was well presented and extremely comfortable. Our rooms were one of the best rooms I've seen
It just amazed me how organised the Tropicana was to prepare for the population of Las Vegas
