Trop is okay. Its an older more laid back casino. They are trying to modernize. The new chef owned bar/ resturant is nice. The Savior Buffet (formerly beach club) was dissappointing. Food options at the time were cold or out for a while. The convention area is really good. They added a FedEx office store last year, a big upgrade.

This facility is owned by the Hilton and can get hhoners points. The casino itself is nice with lots of options for gambling. The conveniently located on the Vegas strip depending on what you want to do. Beautiful pool to relax by.

The rooms are ok. Some have been updated but some haven't. Not impressed with some of the finishes that could be done.

This is the 5th time I am visiting Vegas and trust me Stay away from this hotel.
We hate it . Here the few reasons and I really believe these are very generous reasons-
1. Staff is rude
2. Internet speed is very slow
3. Rooms are very dark & suffocating, and walkways smells like trash
4. Room T.V does not offer more than 15 channels
5. Toilet bowl paint was chipped off
If you plan is just to be super drunk and looking for a cheap place only for a bed to sleep, you can consider staying at this place.

I attended a magic show in the new renovated theater. The theater is beautiful and the staff is great. This place is completely different from a few years ago and you can see the work they have put in to make this place more attractive. The show imagarium is very impressive and highly recommended. It has a combination of magic, illusion, and acrobat.

Woke up to bugs crawling on me in the bed and I called the front desk. He instantly asked if they were cockroaches as if this was normal occurrence. Be warned before you re enticed by these cheap rooms. You pay for what you get.

This hotel is in serious need of an update! I'm giving it some stars, because regular staff was friendly, and the brunch buffet was excellent. The small casino reeks of smoke. Hard to believe this property is owned by Hilton!

Rooms are pretty beat up and old looking. Not very clean. Our bathroom had an awful sulphur odor at random times and the shower curtain smelled like mildew while showering. Non smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke in the evening.

The room was pretty clean and tidy, WiFi was pretty decent, and the bed was alright. Since the hotel is on the strip, it's not exactly quiet at anytime of the day, but that's expected. My only complaint is that the front desk did not have sufficient cookies.

My room was cheap, but so was everything else. The only real redeeming quality of this hotel is having a Laugh Factory, but beyond that it was pretty underwhelming. Their food choices werent great and it felt like they had a small collection of games to gamble on. For a hotel that charges you a resort fee, it sure doesn't feel like a resort.

Staff gives you run around during checking in trying to get you to upgrade. Had to sit in and wait because no rooms of your type are available, false advertising of street view, you stare at a parking garage side. Outdated and no where near Hilton's lowest property standard. Found a few roaches in the room.

As a kid I don't know if other people will have the same perspective as me but, I would say that this hotel is nice but has some cons. First of all, the shower doesn't turn off all the way. Also, some of the outlets will not hold a power block and just slide off. You also have to pay for the wifi (which wasn't a problem in other hotels). Lastly, the TV's don't allow input settings which means no HDMI capability which means no Xbox which means no playing videogames. Overall the hotel is very nice and I would recommend it.

Quick walk from mgm. Came here for the buffet. Walked around a bit since I'd never been there before. The buffet was nice not too big and not a crest amount of options, but a good price. Only open during the day though. But they have outside seating with shaded areas. Watchout for the birds though!

The casino was so clean! And bright! We might stay here our next visit.

Stayed at Tropicana for my 20th wedding anniversary. I got in late due to flight delays but called ahead to let them know it would be after midnight so they won't cancel my reservation. I booked because it was a Hilton property. The Hilton website offered a celebration package (champagne, etc.) but when I called the front desk, they were unable to provide any of the that. I wanted to be special. I booked a King room in a smoking section for my husband. The smell was so bad when we went in that my husband (the smoker) could not tolerate how bad it smelled so we asked to be switched. We went into the Bungalows, which they said was an upgrade. We were so unimpressed by the room (even though I did not care paying for extras) - it faced the parking lot and employee exit area. The first night there, the AC was not working. My husband stayed up till 3am with an engineer in the room trying to fix the AC. Next day, we went out and came back and was switched to another room - same issue but this one the wall paper was peeling off the bathroom walls and the shower head looked as if it was not cleaned for over a year. When I called the front desk, the rep informed me that it's 106 degrees outside. This was the reason why we needed a room with a working AC! They finally changed us to another room (#3) and the AC finally worked! It's a good location not in the center of the strip but very convenient to everything. The pool opened late at 10am and closed early at 6pm so we never got around to making it there. The buffet was great but beware of other people, couples there sitting at your table to get your info (name/room #s) off your receipts. They don't always ask for ID when charging items to your room. Call ahead to registration desk to get details on your room before arrival.

Being that it is a 60+ year old property, with a small casino, it seems to be in good shape overall. I did not feel as though I was in an old hotel/casino. The room and decor were very nice, other than the wear and tear of a hotel room and bathroom could use a refreshing. Beds were comfy. Room was quiet, in that I did not hear walking above, or neighbors next door, other than doors slamming. The pool is nice, however the bar and service by the pool could use some improvement, as well as louder music. We had a great view, however there is a film strip of sorts on the windows of the hotel and the result in a distorted view. Nevertheless, we will be back and I recommend the Las Vegas Tropicana, especially if you want to escape the larger MGM and Caesar corporations properties. This is a nice escape.

If there was an option to rate less than 1 star, I would! Room had a foul smell even after daily house keeping. It never went away. Then they charge u their daily resort fee which is about $40 per day and one of there main amenities which is the pool closes at 5pm daily. Every time I went to use the pool, which I am paying good money for there daily resort fee was either closed because I'm there too early and it's not open yet or we got there too late and it was already closed after 5pm. I can't understand how a major Doubletree resort on the main Vegas strip closes the pool area at 5pm. I expressed my complaints/concerns upon checking out and they didn't care the slightest bit or even do anything to make up for our unmemorable experience especially on an anniversary weekend stay at there hotel. My wife & I will definitely never stay at this property again. If your someone reading these reviews, I would definitely think twice before booking a stay at this hotel. I hope my post helps someone from avoiding a poor experience in a great destination spot.

The Tropicana is a great hotel. Reminiscent of old Las Vegas. Everyone is nice. Valet is still free except on game days. One of the few original hotels on the strip. The only thing I miss are the tropical birds that used to be inside. It would be great to bring them back.

I'll be back. Laid back environment. It's an older establishment so a little TLC wouldn't hurt. I'm from a small town, though...so going back to a more quiet, chill hotel at the end of each day was lovely. It's RIGHT next to MGM Grand where all the chaos and party is at, though. I recommend.

The hotel is....ok at best. Yes it's historical. But the room a/c's low growl doesnt cool anything and the bed isn't comfortable. For the same price, you could stay more central on the strip in a much nicer room.

I was told that in order to book me into the room early i would need to upgrade to a recently remodeled suite. They should fire the people who remodeled. This is the caulking around the tub and the room was not very updated. I would not recommend this hotel for a stay in Vegas.
