We had a total of 5 estimates for replacement of a heat pump and air handler for our townhouse. We found a wide range of prices, as much as $800 between them. We chose Trademasters, which was in the middle of that range, in part because they installed a furnace/ a/c in another home for us and have done fall and springs checks since then. They had always been easy to work with and schedule. That system is still working well. We had the townhouse checked out when we purchased it. David was the technician. He did a great job, explained everything about the heat pump and air handler, what potential problems we might have and the new R-ratings for coolant. The hardware was very dated (1985 and 2004), so when it had problems later, we had Trademastesr prepare an estimate. The estimator, Shane, like David, gave us cogent and detailed information and explained what he thought our best choices were. Chris (crew leader), Stephen, and Luis did the installation. They called ahead, were on time (early, even), watched out that the muddy outside did not come inside, even put up with the rambunctious puppy with grace. They worked straight through until the work was done and the house was heated, just before the unusual very cold spell that occurred in November 2019. Kudos to all of them. We would fully recommend Trademasters.
We are repeat customers of Trademasters and while I am always "bummed" that a major appliance has to be replaced, the whole experience is made much better through Trademasters. Excellent service from Trademasters and their outstanding technician Devon Houston. Devon showed up to install a new water heater but ended up dealing with the building s issues that were complicating things. He did a fantastic job efficiently and professionally.
If you re planning to work done or change your HVAC system, be careful, you may get HVACED with some companies out there.
To be more specific, I had installed a new system with TradeMasters about two years ago in my condo .
I did not have enough heat throughout in the winter and now , no cold air.
After two visits from them with no good results, I finally called and hired Kraft company and they told me there are two things wrong from the original installation and they must be corrected and they gave me an estimate.
I approached TradeTmasters to come and correct their faulty installation .
They came and gave me an estimate about twice as the other company.
I finally had Kraft to do the repair and now after two years the system is up and running.
Not only I was HACKED by TradeMastrers, my system was also HVACED by them.

Trademasters recently installed an upgraded HVAC system in my home. After the installation, when I reported a concern, they immediately responded and corrected the issue. That level of support has kept me as a Trademasters customer for decades!
Good work. Snaking shower drain. It took no more than an hour so to charge a $59 call out fee on top of a $299 charge was excessive. Maybe trademasters would like to offer a discount on subsequent work?
Devon was very knowledgeable about this pressurized toilet (Sloan Flushmate) and made sure to get the complicated installation of the replacement cartridge done correctly.
Technician showed up in the timeframe expected. He was friendly and polite and knew exactly where to look to assess the problem and fix it within an hour. It s working great again.
Trademasters just saved me $3700 as best as I can figure it. Beat that! The original installing firm without testing or trying to troubleshoot, told me my combo heating/hot water unit had no parts available and that I needed a new boiler, chimney sleeve - the works. Trademasters plumbers on the other hand came and correctly diagnosed it was a exterior (to the unit) mixing valve. They spent time, researching and reading to make sure. They were all such great guys - Phil, Mark, Joel. The boiler (Joel) specialist came and within 3 minutes confirmed proper function with piping hot water coming from taps and showers. He replaced probably a $50 mixing valve and now we have more hot water than ever before, and, it's been 12-15 years! The first installing company - UAT - installed it with too much cold flow (not tuned correctly) Imagine that! Anyway, it's rare to find an honest company that allows you to put ALL that money back in your pocket. Trademasters will a be my service company for our rental house and I'll advocate for them going forward. Outstanding! Thanks everyone.

Our experience with Trademaster was a very welcome exceptional experience in replacing our HVAC system. We had contact with five representatives/technicians for the entire process. All were most professional in presenting the information we requested to the actual installation. With the average daily temperature reaching 90 degrees, the time for replacing our system was important. I switched to TradeMasters a few years ago when i got tired of the Well Known big guy in AC/Heating got too big for their britches. I had a service contract and they would call the morning of the appointment to tell me they had to reschedule! And appointments were months out! Not with TradeMasters. Very easy to get in touch with, appointments are easy to make and you can request morning or afternoon when you make your appointment! Technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. The leave a written report of the preventative maintenance done and follow up with an email receipt. Dont waste your time with the guy painted on the truck, go with TradeMasters.

The compressor needed to be changed according to their technician and he told me the company will call to discuss my options, it s been two weeks in this cold weather and no one from the company called me! I called another company and they take care of it right away and change the compressor.

We had our air conditioning go out unexpectedly on a weekend. I called first thing on a Saturday morning, and a technician came out later that same morning. He was able to get the system back working in the morning, but in the afternoon we heard a sound that indicated a further problem. We called and the technician came out again that same day, was able to do some additional diagnostics and determined that a bear in the motor had gone. While Trademasters was not able to fix it that day, they called first thing Monday morning and got a technician out to replace the motor. We have a regular service agreement and they only charged us for replacing the motor. I very much appreciate the expertise and professionalism of the technicians and prompt response from the support staff. I will definitely stay with Trademasters.

The work was done and it did take a long time. The lead technician had an attitude that was unprofessional. He threatened to walk out before the job was completed because I asked him whether or not they were going to repair my heater drip pan they damaged and whether or not they were going to clean up. He also accused me of not being nice. He is there to install the AC and to answer the client s questions without an attitude
A Saturday air conditioner emergency was the reason for the call. I am so grateful to the technician that came and helped me out. He was very professional and knowledgeable and resolved my problem quickly. I owe him a big thanks for getting my AC working before the 100 degree days started!

I have been a Trademasters customer since 2012 when they installed a new Trane HVAC system in my Alexandria, VA townhouse. I have had a service contract with them as well. They have always promptly responded to any issue. From the office staff to the technicians, I could count on them to be polite, informative, punctual, responsive and professional. Last week was a perfect case in point. I am selling my townhouse and while the home inspector and buyer were over, we had smelled gas. One call to Trademasters and they were promptly over the house. After thoroughly troubleshooting the HVAC and gas water heater, Gabriel was able to trace the leak to the gas logs in the fireplace, shut the gas off to the logs and immediately inform me at work. An intermittent problem unresolved over the past year was finally identified and I was able to fix the problem. While I am moving out of state, I could not have been happier with Trademasters and strongly recommend them to anyone in their service area.
I'm giving Trademasters five stars thanks to the five-star service we received. We recently had our ancient (and dead) HVAC unit replaced by this company and the quality of work was excellent! Also, the staff worked with a high level of professionalism.
From our initial estimate meeting with Shane, I was very comfortable with his knowledge and was confident that they could do the job, which wasn't and easy one due to the age of our previous unit and the orientation of it. Shane gave a competitive quote and we decided on Trademasters largely due to his understanding of the situation and his experience.
The staff worked from 7 am to 4 pm. It was an all-day job, but they got the work done earlier than previously estimated. Safety precautions were definitely taken and the technicians kept their masks on for the duration of the work, which alleviated any concerns. Once that air conditioning kicked it, relief was granted! Payment was easy as well and the office staff did a great job coordinating everything.

Have used for several years. This year's tech, Gabriel Monzon did a very good job. Problem is with Trademasters. Service of 2 systems including filters for 2016, 2017 and 2018 was $189.00. This year's service was $501.00 for the exact same service. Trademasters said they DID NOT know we had 2 systems and that they do not provide filters. We have invoices, inspections reports and receipts for those years and each states in an employee's hand that 2 systems were serviced and filters were included.
We used Trademasters about a year ago to inspect our residential heat pump system and they were great.
We were first-time home buyers who didn't know anything about heat pump systems and figured we should get it inspected. We had first contacted another local company (McCarthy Services) for an inspection, and they wrote up about $4,000 dollars in repairs and tried to pressure us into buying a brand new system for $5,500, telling us our current system could go at any time but they could give us a big discount if we acted within the next two weeks. We were rather surprised and contacted Trademasters to get a second opinion.
Trademasters got a tech out to us within a few days and he did a thorough inspection job. His conclusion: Everything was fine, no repairs needed. We then showed him the estimate from the other company and he laughed at how ridiculous it was. He informed us that all the technical information on the McCarthy inspection report was correct, but that it was still within acceptable tolerances for operation. He also told us that the prices for repair were wildly inflated, and that McCarthy was working on commission and figured we were an easy (and inexperienced) mark.
Needless to say, we will be using Trademasters for all future repairs or replacement of our heat pump system. They already saved us $5,500 just by showing up and being honest.
Trademasters serviced my hot water heater, correctly troubleshooted it and repaired it saving me hundreds of dollars. Mr. Phil Bartos and his apprentice were extremely professional, on time and left the area cleaner than when they started. I could not believe they wore booties on their shoes to protect my floor, took their time to do it right, and did some preventive maintenance to prevent any future issues. They also provided insight on a waterless hot water heater process that I may consider. Trademasters is, by far the best techs I have seen. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!
