Great family style sushi restaurant. The sushi is fresh and tightly packed. This place is legit! All the dishes are good, so you really can't go wrong. Besides the food the service is also great. It's always kinda busy, but the wait is never unreasonable. Toyoda Sushi is easily in the top 10, likely within the top 5 sushi joints in the Seattle area.

Five stars because I'm only allowed a total of five stars! Great sushi, the kind you hope and dream about getting. Quality service, great selection, and priced appropriately. They'll take care of you every time. High recommended!

Real deal, authentic sushi. Super delicious. Ordering takeout during this difficult time will usually gain you threw same benefit you would get from sitting at the sushi bar : delicious extra tidbits from the chef! And the best part, they don't go too heavy on the wasabi, like a lot of other sushi spots do. It's perfect.

I'm not a sushi expert, but my fiancee has enjoy tons from all over the world. We both enjoyed it. The service and quality of food was amazing. As far as pricing. You pay for what you get. Theres a reason this place was rated #1 sushi in Seattle.

I've been teleported to Roppongi. The quality of sushi I used to eat on the streets of Azabu-juban. A fresh selection of nigiri and sashimi complemented by traditional hand rolls native to nippon. If you are looking for the Marshawn Lynch roll, this isn't your place. But if you want mouthwatering, melt in your mouth quality fish and extremely friendly and gracious hosts (the Toyoda Family) this is your new favorite sushi joint.

I live in downtown Seattle and I will be going out of my way to come back... often. There is nothing like Toyoda Sushi in town, and I've been looking!

This place is a true gem of Seattle. It was first recommended to me by a bartender in Pioneer Square a few years ago and I ve been enjoying it ever since. The sushi and sashimi are of such high quality that it is sometimes hard to branch out, but we ve enjoyed everything else we ve tried as well. The unagi nigiri is some of the best, and the fatty tuna is so decadent I always have to close my eyes and submit to the goodness.

Now that COVID-19 has upended our world, Toyoda has taken a new level of love in my heart. They do curbside pickup, which makes me feel so much safer than places that have customers enter the building. We order as often as we can and hope that they will remain a favorite for many years to come.

Best sushi and service in North Seattle, hands down. Lovely but crowded family-run restaurant that's been around for years and years. Yummy nigiri, sashimi, and pretty much anything else. In the old days, the menu was on post-it notes all over the walls; today, it's the more usual form. It still covers everything from bento to teriyaki to sushi. All fresh and delicious.

I have been to many sushi restaurants in seattle and this place is on my top 3. Great selection of sushi that is fresh and delicious. Generous portions. Free complementary soup and salad is a bonus. Friendly staff and chef who enjoys every second of his career is what makes this local restaurant a top.sushi restaurant in my.mind.

One of the best ways to see if a good restaurant is actually good is to check the lowest reviews on Google. The only 1-star and 2-star reviews for Toyoda Sushi seem to be from certain people who wanted their Applebees treatment from a service staff waiting hand and foot for customers, and people who think they know good fish but were probably just disappointed that there was no All-You-Can-Eat option. I saw one complaining that there is wasabi between the fish and rice while insinuating the chefs were hiding the bad quality of the fish, which is pretty hilarious.

Toyoda Sushi is one of the premier sushi places in Seattle. Not many restaurants will match the quality of fish and service that Toyoda provides. They have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff - their stoicism is a result of their work, not indifference to guests.

Their prices for nigiri a la carte are actually quite reasonable, and it's not hard to get a decent meal. Very personable sushi chefs that will talk to you if you have any questions. I wanted to know if they serve real wasabi at Toyoda Sushi, and the chef at the bar told me straight up that they mix it 50/50 with horseradish wasabi. And then he gave me a pat of pure real wasabi right on our sushi platter. How amazing is that?

The place is basically an institution, at this point. Don't get scared off by reviews knocking the service because those people are just unhappy someone didn't cater to their specific standards developed by overly western institutions.

Price is a little high and the service could be better. But all in all, the food is good and you can see the staff is consistently trying their best to meet everyone s demands. Just sometimes, it would be nice to be able to get spoons before your soup gets cold...

Complimentary soup and salad was a good starter. The salad can use a bit mayo but can't complain since it's complimentary. We also got agedashi tofu on the house as well! It was the best agendashi tofu I have ever had. They used bread crumb in the batter. We also got a small poke, and it was not so small. It was HUGE. I would definitely be back.

I almost don't want to review this place because it means more of you will be going to it but it is awesome they load you up with so much buttery delicious fresh fish and all the hot meals we saw come out looked extraordinarily good. It's tiny so if it's a Friday or Saturday night you might be looking at a wait.

Fish is really fresh and well made, some of the waiters are also friendly. 2 waitresses are discriminatory, they treat white people very friendly and polite, but treat mixed / Asia couple very rude, I didn t feel welcomed there, will not go back.

Better than the finest 5 star restaurant in Houston! The chef is a master with his freshest ingredients. Melts in your mouth, flavors explode. You will not regret coming here, this will be your favorite place. So so happy. :)

Best sushi in Seattle and at a great price. Family owned staple and A local institution for 30 years. Get the sushi regular, the octupus salad and the tempura ice cream to finish off the meal.

Went there and got to sit at the bar. James gave me and my husband a fabulous assortment! We told him to surprise us and that we like salmon and rolls. He kept a great pace and everything was delicious!

Got take out recently. There were so many great reviews, that I approached the meal with high hopes. My wife opened the containers and immediately got a fishy odor. The "crab" in the California rolls was a bit old or something. The rolls did not have that fresh sweet crabby flavor that many sushi restaurants get right. We also tried the spider roll, not bad, but unremarkable. The tempura, also was not bad, but really, not good. Very oily, which is a sign of poor frying technique, oil at the wrong temperature. Gyoza were clearly made with manufactured wrappers, and the filling had an unpleasant sourness. The dipping sauce had so much vinegar in it that it dominated the taste. Finally, there was a hair in the California rolls. The food is not cheap. Nothing wrong with the service, food was ready for pickup at the promised time. We must have hit the restaurant on an off night, but it's too expensive and there are too many really good sushi restaurants in Seattle to give it another shot. It really pains me to write a bad review, but there are so many good reviews of this place that I felt like I had to share our experience for balance.

Went out on a very busy Sunday for these folks, and decided to take some sushi to go. Had their spicy tuna and California maki. Both were delicious and fresh! Miso soup was also good. Hoping to try eating here on a day that's less busy for them. Staff who helped me were kind and polite too!

Most awful place ever first time and last time, This is just ideally place for a stripper and a hoe to be having a meeting. The food took forever just like how a stripper would without the no effort and heart in it. And the worse ever I never got my refill on water and tea. Hands downs worse service ever in my life .

Love, love, love this place! I would recommend Toyada to anyone who's going to ask me where to go for some really delicious sushi. I ordered the tempura Philli roll, the spicey tuna bowl, the California, and for dessert, we got tempura icecream. The roll that I ordered in the cone shape is the Negi Toro. Everything was so good and made well. The quality felt high. In addition, the ambiance here is perfect and homey (just like what everyone else is saying).

Overall, I had no complaints with my experience. I have finally found the sushi place that I've been searching all over for since I've moved here to WA.

When it gets busy here the service can degrade a bit though.

Delcious, generous, and attentive! Our waters were always full, the place was packed, but we were never wondering where our waiter was. The appetizers were great and we were brought them without asking at all! I highly reccommend sitting at the bar and talking to your sushi chef. The environment is inviting, the staff is energetic, observant, and nice, and the sushi chefs know what they're doing! Wish I could give 6 stars!

The food was pretty good once we got it. It is not the "super fresh" I'd consider excellent, but decent. it is just it took so long to get our food, it is hard for me to judge this restaurant just on its food. They forgot one of our orders (not to mention other foods arriving late) and it took us forever to get anything at all. Perhaps avoid busy dinner time?

I have been eating here for over twenty years! This is, by far, my favorite sushi place. The fish is consistently fresh. The owners are extremely nice. The service is fine. Sit at the bar and strike up a conversation with the lucky person next to you. Not stuffy. Not cheap. Not avant garde. Just good cold and hot dishes served in a busy neighborhood restaurant. Say hello to Helen for me. Sometimes the line is long, but still worth the wait.

Going to have to go against the grain with all the reviews I see on google. Toyoda Sushi has been on the top of my list to visit based on all the reviews, it seemed to be up there with sushi kashiba/ shiro's, but just like all the sushi places in Seattle, they have been a disappointment. Is the fish fresh, yes. Is the fish more special or flavorful, no. I don't think that they are preparing the fresh any more different than your local sushi restaurant. Unlike Nobu's Sugarfish, they dont offer any special in house soy sauce or special umami sauce over the nigiri's. I think we can all agree that fish is fish, and what makes a restaurant truly special is the way they prepare the raw ingredients. A lettuce is a lettuce, but its the dressing that can really enhance the flavor profile of the ingredient, and I just don't think Toyoda Sushi does that.
