Loved the eclectic flair of this place. The restaurant has more of a modern diner feel, and is adorned with collectible antiques such as dolls and other nick-nacks. Their housemade breads are delicious with breakfast or lunch. Really unique menu offerings that you don't typically see in MA such as fried chicken and waffles, and southern style omelettes. I also liked how the waiters didn't have to wear uniforms- felt very casual and homey.

This restaurant was very appealing when you walk in, great vibe and atmosphere. We were visiting Boston with family an we decided to try this place based on the great reviews. I can honestly say we were not disappointed in any way. The service was great, our waitress gave us recommendations that tasted great. I ordered a Bloody Mary which had just the right spice and flavor I was looking for. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great service and awesome food choices. We will def be back when we visit Boston again.

Great place for drinks and decent food. Not as expensive as most of the other places in the area. Service at the bar has been solid in my experience, and no issues with the table service. I do wish they would open earlier as most diner places typically do (local Bagel places are opening at 6 or 7). Other issue is the bathrooms downstairs shared with the bar. They are not that great and have a trashy feel.

That they have great breakfast food in big portions is not much of a surprise; what is a surprise is how great of a bar menu they have, always with curious and interesting cocktails. I also love how much work they've put into the kitche look of the place, which is amusing and provides conversation starters. Finally, my experiences with the wait staff have always been great. They are typically dressed with a lot of personal flare, and they are responsive, attentive, and friendly.

Great food, fun atmosphere, and excellent service. It was so much fun to find a dinner that had so many veggie options. As vegetarians, my partner and I often struggle finding things we can eat at dinners--this was not true here. There were plenty vegetarian, Vegan, and gluten free options. Our food was delicious and we cannot wait to visit again and try many of the other delicious sounding options on the menu.

Great food. The toast and fresh bread are a real treat! Staff did a great job ensuring that we were well taken care of. Personally, I'd prefer a darker coffee roast, but the food and overall experience were great. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Went here for lunch the other day and wound up having one of the best breakfasts in a long time. So awesome. I had a great waffle and my friend enjoyed the sklarmagedden. Both were great. Loved the decor and the fun kitschyness about the whole place. Our server looked like he wasn't going to be all there but he was great and totally on point. Can't wait to go back and try some more items.

Very reasonable prices for large portions. Overall the interior is a little odd -- they seem to be going for a hippie-fied take on a standard '60s diner -- but the decent food quality makes it a good cheap spot for grabbing breakfast, brunch, or lunch near MIT/Kendall Square.

Friendly Toast is a quirky, kitschy all-day breakfast place. The portions are massive and everything is reasonably priced (especially for Kendall Square), but the food and service are just okay. Don't even think about getting one of the non-breakfast items.

The food was very delicious and the menu items are very original as is the decor within the restaurant. The only downside to this place is how packed and over crowded it was and how long it took to get a table and then get food. Granted we went on a Saturday morning, it took 2 hrs to get a table and an additional 1hr to be served once we sat down. Great place to check out when they aren t busy.

The Nowait app allows getting in line ahead of time on your phone (the line can be long and they don't accept reservations). Overall it's a casual, talkative atmosphere with eclectic decorations and an upbeat vibe - a great place for delicious brunch!

This is a really eclectic restaurant with a delightful nostalgic and funny decor and a menu which meets a huge variety of dietary requirements. From all day breakfast to great nachos with vegan chili (if you ask) you can range from light to heavy, appetizer to entree and a great range of salads. Low alcohol warning light flashing? No worries, they can help there too! Eat in or take out. You can use the website to order ahead for pick up. Service was fast and friendly every time we went. Want a unique sandwich? Try the beet pineapple veggie burger. Don't expect burger, settle for a good taste treat.

The offbeat decor--wallpaper showing covers of young adult serial novels of the '60s--is kind of funky/cool, but gets tiresome on repeat visits. Our food (breakfast for supper) was fine; so were drinks.
The summertime patio is this restaurant's best feature.

Once you find the location, you notice that it's tucked away between office buildings in the heart of Kendall Square. Upon entering, the decor and vibe bring you back to either your childhood or teen years!

The menu can come off a bit overwhelming with the many options offered. They provide large portions, so don't ask for extras with any meal unless you have the space.

The meal was cooked and seasoned well to one's satisfaction, your flavor pallet will definitely get a workout. The home fries could have cooked a little longer, especially if you like yours a bit crunchy! The French toast was a bit soggy on the inside from it being such a large piece of bread (which they make daily) and was still tasty.

The real champion of today was the Lobster Hull. It was a delicious spin on eggs Benedict. Try it when you visit.

I wanted to love this place. I think my expectations were too high. The decor is bizarre think dive bar kitsch. A bit too loud (visually, not audibly) for breakfast. Although MIA for the latter half of the meal, our server couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Food was okay. An abundance of options, to be sure. Execution was good but nothing special.

We've been trying to visit The Friendly Toast for some time but the wait has made it virtually impossible. Thankfully, we had some free time so we waited. The "wait"? 5 minutes! We lucked out. While there is no parking lot/parking structure, there's plenty of metered street parking available. The decor was a street art vibe, and there was plenty of seating available. The menu is vast, and I found it challenging to choose, which I guess is a good problem to have. I chose the Breakfast Egg Rolls, and they were delicious. The filing consisted of scrambled eggs with corned beef, cheese, and a honey dipping sauce that I wanted to take home. With all of the options available, I'll be back to try something else. They have so much to choose from!

We were in Cambridge overnight for the Paul Simon concert, and starving the following morning, according to google we had a lot of options around us within walking distance, and we chose to try The Friendly Toast, what a great decision! The service was solid, and friendly, my sister, and I had the "build your own" omelet, and we couldn't believe how generous, and tasty it was. There were huge chunks of avocados, and the flavor was amazing. We hope to return someday! It was also reasonably priced... well done!

Amazing food and service. My wife and I found this place on Google after looking at places to have breakfast near Boston. We were impressed with the reviews but more impressed with the vibe, drinks, food and service. This is for sure the best brunch place we found while visiting.

Fun breakfast spot that provides seasonal options and classic favorites. Tried the barbacoa breakfast sandwich and was blown away by how good it was. Give it a try if you can. Decent prices (roughly $10-$15 per plate). Fun atmosphere and good coffee. Happy we stopped in for breakfast.

This was my favorite meal during our trip to the Boston area. The old school, eclectic decorating style of this place is really cool. There's a lot to take in. Our server Claudia was knowledgeable about the menu, had great recommendations, and was very attentive to our table.

Funky, classic diner. Good food any time of day, reasonable prices, open crazy hours. No reservations, but they currently use the Nowait app for call-aheads which is quite nice. Get there before 10 on weekends to avoid the brunch crowd.

The Friendly toast is indeed friendly, cheerful and polite but not sycophantic. Food comes out quickly and accurately.

Menu has vegan friendly choices and some interesting combinations of ingredients. Portion size hits the spot between stingy and obesity making.

Decor is bright and clashes with itself , which creates a cheerful vibe.

If every fast casual places was as competent as the friendly toast there would be no chain restaurants

The friendly toast is an uber popular brunch location in Boston. Is a has a huge variety of brunch dishes - you can get basically any type of brunch you want, to a decadent extent. The drink selection is equally ubiquitous and over the top (mimosa flights!!!). Though my experience was subpar - the food was an hour late (they forgot about us while our neighboring tables sat, ate, and left), and to be totally frank, the prices were something to be desired for essentially eggs and pancakes. My food was adequate, but I left dissatisfied and the Instagram-able atmosphere does not leave me wanting to come back.

Amazing! Always good food at a good price, and good cocktails too! Atmosphere is kitsch and fun, staff is good, even though the place is often mobbed on a weekend morning. One of my favorite weekend brunch places.

About Toast

Toast is a leading restaurant point of sale and management system that has revolutionized the way restaurants operate. With its cutting-edge technology, Toast helps restaurants improve their operations, increase sales and create a better guest experience.

The company was founded in 2011 by Steve Fredette, Aman Narang, and Jonathan Grimm with the aim of providing an all-in-one solution for restaurant owners. Since then, Toast has grown to become one of the most trusted names in the industry with over 48,000 restaurants using its platform.

One of the key features that sets Toast apart from other POS systems is its user-friendly interface. The system is designed to be intuitive and easy to use so that even non-technical staff can quickly learn how to use it. This means that restaurant owners can spend less time training their staff on how to use the system and more time focusing on other aspects of their business.

Another major advantage of using Toast is its ability to integrate with other software systems such as accounting software or online ordering platforms. This means that restaurant owners can streamline their operations by automating tasks such as inventory management or payroll processing.

In addition to these features, Toast also offers a range of tools designed specifically for restaurants. For example, it has a tableside ordering feature which allows servers to take orders directly from customers at their table using handheld devices. This not only speeds up service but also improves accuracy since orders are entered directly into the system rather than being written down on paper.

Toast also offers powerful reporting tools which allow restaurant owners to track sales data in real-time. This information can be used to identify trends or areas where improvements could be made such as menu items that are not selling well or times when staffing levels need adjusting.

One area where Toast really shines is in its customer support services. The company offers 24/7 support via phone or email so that restaurant owners can get help whenever they need it. In addition, there are extensive online resources available including video tutorials and user guides which make it easy for users to find answers quickly.

Overall, if you're looking for a comprehensive POS system for your restaurant then look no further than Toast! With its advanced features and excellent customer support services, this platform will help you take your business operations to new heights while improving your bottom line at the same time!
