First comes, first serves. First time at The Friendly Toast and it was great! It was a great omelette that came with fresh baked cinnamon raisin bread and home fries. Only thing I wanted was more!

We went on a quiet day, but I am sure that this place gets incredibly busy on the weekends, so beware.

The Friendly Toast is essentially a greasy spoon diner, that also sells beer. The food is good, and if you're in the mood for that type of food, is a fine place to go. They have outdoor seating in the summer and a good amount of indoor seating. It's worth a visit if you're in the area and hungry for both breakfast and beer. Otherwise, there are probably better options.

Their breakfast is amazing, I would recommend any of the combo breakfasts and be sure to get the French toast. If you ever get the chance try them out. They didn't hire me, I'll still give them a good review because the food is that good.

This place is always packed on the weekends, and for good reason. The decor and wait staff can't be beat, and the food is both excellent and plentiful. Reserve a table using the NoWait app before showing up if you want to dodge most of the line. Using the app, waits can be ~5-10 minutes from when you arrive, but if you show up cold it's a 80+ minute ordeal.

Cool little place near Kendall. Used app no avoid long wait time. Otherwise, be prepared to wait over 30m for breakfast/lunch. Food was good tried BLT Benedict, French toast, spicy BLT and tacos. All good and great. While service was good, our party of eleven was seated in a 6~7 place table.

I have been the Friendly Toast many times - most recently this past weekend for brunch with some friends. This is a popular place so you may have to wait a bit, but it is worth it. Prices are reasonable, the menu has a vast array of breakfast foods, and service is good. Quirky decor and outdoor seating in the summer round out this excellent breakfast spot.

The Friendly toast is quintessential Cambridge; warm, hip, and a lot of fun. The people working there are awesome (although if you aren't a fan of tattoos apparently you need not apply) and are super friendly. It's always busy so the service can sometimes be slow but if you have some free time you should enjoy!

While many things have changed from years ago with new ownership, the important core of good food and witty atmosphere remain the same. The bread still rocks and Sklarmageddon still reigns supreme.

I can't rate the food because no one would serve us. We sat at the bar, no one took our food or drink orders. Then we asked to be seated at a table. We waited for 5 minutes and not one server came over, but they were in the restaurant. We dined at the Kendall Square theater instead. Due to the poor service I will not give it a 2nd chance.

We ordered for separate meals at The Friendly Toast, and a side of tater tots. The food took a while (an hour) to come, and in forgiveness our bill ended up being $6! And the food was amazing. Amazing people, diverse community, accepting area, no matter who you are you'll enjoy this restaurant.

What a delightful breakfast! Our server was Nate, and he was super nice, even to our beastly toddlers. He checked on the table frequently for coffee and drink refills and responded to the goofy questions and exclamations of our kiddos. The food itself was pretty awesome, too. My husband got the Kiss My Grits, which included a biscuit, fried chicken thighs, and grits. The grits were really good, even though they were more like a sauce in this dish. I could tell I would have been happy with just a bowl of grits with some eggs and bacon, and we've had a lot of grits below the Mason-Dixon. My choice was the Barbacoa Benny. The eggs were perfectly poached, the biscuits underneath were buttery and tender, and the barbecue-sweet sauce on top balanced the richness of the rest of the dish really nicely. My husband and I ended up switching halfway through so we each got part of the other's meal. Both were awesome. Even the kids' food and the coffee was great. If you're passing through, like we were, give this place a try. Super friendly, unpretentious service, fun, retro decor, and awesome food. I know this place will be one of the places we talk about when we recount our NE road trip. Thanks!

Great diner chain for brunch or dinner. We went for brunch Sunday morning, and it was packed with a wait, though they do use a convenient notification system for telling you your table is ready. There's a huge variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, many of which are creative and delicious. My only complaints are that the prices are a bit expensive ($12-15) for not a huge amount of food, could leave you a little hungry when you leave. Other than that, the environment of the diner is great and lively and service is great and quick.

If you'd like a place where the huge variety of food is served in a room adorned with Tom Swift Jr and Nancy Drew book covers on the walls, and 1950s vintage Formica tables, you'll fall in love with the place instantly. A number of vegans and vegetarian dishes are available as well as hamburgers, and fried and not fried chicken. The Cambridge restaurant is just a few feet from the Landmark Theater. Unless you're looking for a more formal dinner, are in a big hurry, or trying to impress a first date or save money, you'll have a great meal.

The food was so delicious very fun food choices, including vegan. It can be a long wait on the weekend and no reservations, so arrive early! It was crowded the day we went and kind of loud. It is worth waiting for! Serving size is big there is a bar with alcohol. Can not adapt well to large parties.

The French Toast was so thick and delicious and the eggs benny was classically yummy! Our waitress was hilarious and our overall experience was very fun.

Make sure you add your group to the waiting list on Yelp about an hour before you expect to get to the diner, otherwise you ll be waiting forever at the front of house.

Fun diner-style restaurant with a modern twist, with lots of spicy options and vegetarian options, and a good beer list. The interior is kind of crazy with all sorts of 50s memorabilia, some of it kind of creepy but still kid friendly.

I bring my family and colleagues here fairly often and everyone is always very happy.

Came here for Sunday brunch with some out of town friends. I knew there is always a long wait so we tired to get there on the earlier side but event at 11am there was at least a 45+ minute wait. Luckily tables cleared quickly and we were seating in under 30 minutes which was great. The service was very fast and the menu has a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan items. I got the eggs in a hole which comes with your choice of several bread types and you can mix and match which is nice. I also got a side of vegan bacon which was surprisingly good for something I think is hard to really match the real version. The portions are fairly large and the prices are very reasonable so well worth the money. I'll be coming back again for sure, just need to plan a wait!

Great place to grab a vegan or vegetarian meal! The manager tonight was marvelous with his customer service no. The wait staff here is always very friendly and easygoing! We travel far to come to this Friendly Toast. I tried the vegan bacon, vegan sausage and the spiced apple Belgian waffle. We will definitely be visiting soon

I'm not sure why the friendly toast is so popular. The food isn't good. I had an impossible burger there, and it was overcooked and bland. My friends similarly did not enjoy their meals. A party of 8 and the meals were half-eaten. We decided it wasn't worth taking them home.

That area of cambridge has plenty of good food places. Spare your wallet and your taste buds. If you want a nearby diner, try S&S in inman.

I've been three times and I have never walked out satisfied. They've run out of hot chocolate on one of my visits. I've had waiters ignore my table for ages. Bad food, bad service.

Cool restaurant with a very unique atmosphere. It feels like a cross between a retro diner and a punk cafe. Service is fast, the staff is friendly, and there is a very wide selection of tasty food.

About Toast

Toast is a leading restaurant point of sale and management system that has revolutionized the way restaurants operate. With its cutting-edge technology, Toast helps restaurants improve their operations, increase sales and create a better guest experience.

The company was founded in 2011 by Steve Fredette, Aman Narang, and Jonathan Grimm with the aim of providing an all-in-one solution for restaurant owners. Since then, Toast has grown to become one of the most trusted names in the industry with over 48,000 restaurants using its platform.

One of the key features that sets Toast apart from other POS systems is its user-friendly interface. The system is designed to be intuitive and easy to use so that even non-technical staff can quickly learn how to use it. This means that restaurant owners can spend less time training their staff on how to use the system and more time focusing on other aspects of their business.

Another major advantage of using Toast is its ability to integrate with other software systems such as accounting software or online ordering platforms. This means that restaurant owners can streamline their operations by automating tasks such as inventory management or payroll processing.

In addition to these features, Toast also offers a range of tools designed specifically for restaurants. For example, it has a tableside ordering feature which allows servers to take orders directly from customers at their table using handheld devices. This not only speeds up service but also improves accuracy since orders are entered directly into the system rather than being written down on paper.

Toast also offers powerful reporting tools which allow restaurant owners to track sales data in real-time. This information can be used to identify trends or areas where improvements could be made such as menu items that are not selling well or times when staffing levels need adjusting.

One area where Toast really shines is in its customer support services. The company offers 24/7 support via phone or email so that restaurant owners can get help whenever they need it. In addition, there are extensive online resources available including video tutorials and user guides which make it easy for users to find answers quickly.

Overall, if you're looking for a comprehensive POS system for your restaurant then look no further than Toast! With its advanced features and excellent customer support services, this platform will help you take your business operations to new heights while improving your bottom line at the same time!
