Every city has its market and this is Lisbons. If I were to compare it to Borough market in London then Borough would definitely win. There is a great selection of food on offer and lots of stalls to buy fresh products however i felt that this was a classic tourist trap where unfortunately the tourist loses. Overpriced food and not the same quantity and quality as local restaurants. For a fun place to soak up tourist atmosphere head here otherwise find a nice quiet local spot nearby and soak up real Lisbon life.

One of the best spots to eat out in Amsterdam if you want an easy access to variety of good dishes. Make sure to stop by the Sea Me! Try croquettes and Jamon in cone in a smaller stand nearby. We returned like 3 times to eat here so quality guaranteed, with good vibe and music!
Filled with tourists and overpriced food. If you re looking for an authentic Portuguese experience this is not the place. If you re looking for a break from Portuguese food there are some good burgers and Asian options here.
What a great place. Reconstructed old market place offering wide range of delicious local and fresh products. Prices are very reasonable considering you are in the heart of Lisboa. Their natas are delicious, so are the cheese and ham platters, oysters and all the drinks we have tried out. Heavily recommended.
If you would like to spend your afternoon walking around a food court packed with tourists, wait half an hour for your food and then have to eat it standing because there are no seats available, this is your place. It was a dog-eat-dog-world where only the most ruthless find a place to eat seated, the rest eat like plebs on the sidelines (we were the plebs in this instance). Other than that the food was okay but overpriced.
A great place to lose yourself in trying different foods. It is a vibrant and bustling environment to grab a bite to eat and have a drink. I liked the fact that there are so many types f food there, so there is definitely something for everyone s fancy. The downside was the place s own success: we spent ages queuing for food (ok, we were 500 of us mixed with the rest of the tourists). I liked the fact that you could put some credits on a (credit like) card to pay for your food and drinks.
Excellent lunch and dining options in a closes market, with a characteristic common sitting area in the center. I've liked most the "chef's" shops and I had a salmon tartare at TARTAR-IA that was really special :)
Great fun a very high quality food market. Very busy but it is nicely laid out. Large selection of different foods and drinks are on offer. Not cheap! prices are about the same as restaurants. But really worth the visit when in Lisbon.
A Lisbon must see. All the best in food. There is a small park beside it, a great spot to sit a watch the world go by. Not so touristy, used by locals so it's real Lisbon.
Not to be missed! 10 minute walking from the heart of Lisbon. People in the shops are friendly and they took time to explain me how food was made. Cool place.
A compilation of the best restaurants of the city in one room, how wouldn't love it? Great pastel de nata, lovely sushi, good portuguese food, good wines and ginja. This is one of the places you have to visit. There are cooking courses, maybe you want to take that in mind before you plan your trip.
Big Market Hall with an international flair. You can try various tastes from different restaurants of Lisbon which have a shop in the Market Hall. From Sushi to Tapas and Hamburger. Definately a must see and recommendable. Good and affordable prices and food for all budgets.
There's a food market part which is open in the morning where you can buy fresh food and a second part is a commercialized food court. We had great food at the Asian Lab. We had 3 starters but shared it as maindish. In total 19 . The fresh fruitjuice bought at the food court was 3,5 but so jummy. I saw eclairs in the food court for around 3-4,5 .
The place was crowded at lunch but we sat at one of the tables/bar areas on one of the side corridors. The food was delicious and service was fast. Reminded me of the food market in Barcelona. We loved it.
Mostly Portuguese food. But they do have some sweet shops, one Thai and a Japanese restaurant. Overall ok. Good for one visit. Don't go there thinking they have international food cause there ain't.
It's a Must go, first take a sit or go early, it get's crouded, but its worth it. Fair prices and good food. Plus if you go dinner, ther is a bar/disco Upstairs.
Great place to have lunch but can get a bit crowded. It is a big old market hall with seating in the middle and different stalls around the sides. You don t have get food from the nearest stall to your seating area. There s a lot of variety and big price differences between the different stalls. You place your order and pay and they give you a gadget that vibrates when your food is ready and you can go and collect it. Obviously you can get a lot of different fish dishes.
I enjoyed visiting Time Out Market. There were many options to chose from weather you are looking for food, dessert or wine. I ordered based upon meats, more specifically steaks. I believe it was location number 44. It wasn t a good option. My steak was bland and cooked well when I asked for a medium and a medium well steak. I did go to a Gelato spot that had AMAZING gelato. They say that they are from Italy. The coffee and pistachio gelato was the best I ve had. I was completely impressed. If I ever come here again, I would undoubtedly try another food location but be sure to have the gelato.
This place has a really great vibe and is essentially always crowded. There's so many great food options here so no surprise there. I would definitely recommend trying out some of the food from the renowned chefs' stalls, coz when else are you going to get amazing food at such a cheap price?! Alexandre Silva's: The pork belly with bok choy and pea puree was stellar. The pork was so well cooked and went perfectly with the vegetable and the puree. Just skin was crispy and felt hard to cut at times, but totally worth it! Croqueteria: Absolutely loved the goat cheese with caramelized red onion as well as the traditional beef & pork. The chicken one was good too, but not as noteworthy. Principais: Roasted codfish with chickpea puree, spinach and cornbread crumble. My oh my, this was delicious, I think I found a few bones in the fish, but that doesn't really matter when your food is so so good. I don't have the words for this. Manteigaria: Of course, how could you leave this place without trying the Pasteis de Nata. Best dessert I have had in my life. I could just go on having these. They're made fresh right there and come with cinnamon and powdered sugar which you don't really need. Smooth, perfect custard with crisp pastry. IF NOTHING ELSE, YOU HAVE TO GET THESE!
Very cool place. There are dozens of options for eating, everything from local cuisine, seafood, barbecue and desserts.
My travel companion and I ate here a few time during our stay, and even then we were only able to sample a fraction of what was available, but everything we did try was exceptional.
The one negative I would have was the beer selection. Everything available was from the Super Bock brewery, which is good, but I would prefer more variety personally.
Most people visit here to eat, but for those interested in architecture/ tiles go up the stairs and admire the beautiful tiled walls and get a view of the whole indoor market.
Exellent place for newcomers to check the best food labels and tastes in Lisbon. On weekends is totally full and there are big ques. So, order everything you want with one order.
I stayed in Lisbon for two weeks. Ate here seven times. I took a cooking class on Portuguese pastries for 25. Ate sushi. Cake. And as an American, this was the best draft beer in Lisbon. Go here. Be happy. It's the best.
Great place to go for lunch or dinner. Lot of good choices of different types of food. I was there during lunch time and the place was crowded and finding a seat took a while. We took two different menus from different shops and both were very good.
Easily the best place for a quick modern portuguese lunch in Lisbon. It can get crowded though. One advice I can give is to first grab the drinks while you are waiting for the food. DON'T CARRY DRINKS AND FOOD AT THE SAME TIME!! That's a recipe for disaster.
Vibrant place meet the world under one roof and get a real taste of Portugal. Variety of food from the northern to the most southern regions of Portugal and all under one roof. Great atmosphere must visit place
A victim of its own success. Absolutely packed and so it is a struggle to find anywhere to sit. Lisbon has so many great places to eat so why come somewhere that is essentially a posh food court
Food here is phenomenal. Ideal for people seeking several different options. English friendly! As others have mentioned, it can be difficult to find a place to sit.
It's a bit of a gimmick for tourists to go there as you don't get the local feel you would get at a family run restaurant but it's great for travelers who are in Lisbon for more than a week to get a different type of local twist.
Tonnes of artisan stalls, excellent range of food and drinks all hand picked by Time Out experts. So many different options available, this has to be the most concentrated area of excellent food and wine anywhere in the city. We especially recommend the Phillyburger from Ground Burger!
Love this dining concept. Basically a huge food court with some great, locally produced foods getting highlighted, as well as local restaurants and chefs! It does get Insanely busy, and can be hard to find seating. Even late into the night. Worth a trip though, if you're visiting Lisbon.
It s popular, and for good reason. Time Out Market boasts an impressive variety of food, drink, and dessert options and always seems to have a good crowd. We came here twice on our visit to Lisbon and loved being able to mix and match things from the various stands. Highly recommended.
the food is mediocre at best, some of the prices are outrageous for instance 15 EUR for a simple Pizza. My son was sold crepes with ice cream just before midnight, at midnight the lights went out and we were asked to leave by a security guard, he had to eat the crepe on a bench in the park outside. total tourist rip off, avoid this place
Definitely recommend that everyone schedule this market to visit. There is plenty of food vendor to choose from, so for sure you can find a place to eat that would FIt your wallet. The price is a little steep for the quality but definitely go AND see it for your self. I would not recommend Asian Lab there because their food is too sour.
Great place when your company can t decide on what cuisine they want to go for. Each one can choose their own Pizzas, burgers, fish , Asian, Portuguese, desserts, beers, everything is there ! Choose from wherever and sit altogether to eat. Sitting area is consisted of Long tables were you may sit close to others. Big range of cuisines too choose from.
This is become a very popular international phenomenon, but still this market offers some of the most popular and respectfully cooked dishes in Lisboa, without the need to visit several different restaurant and dress up to the occasion. A place to taste and enjoy casual dining.
Its a bit noisy and crowded. The food was really expensive. There are other markets in lisbon that have better quality food and the prices are cheaper.
A traditional market with a food court attached down by the river in Lisbon. On one side you can buy fresh fish and veg and on the other there is a food court with numerous restaurants where you get your food and sit at communal tables. A great combination of old and new. Make sure you visit when in Lisbon.
