This place is amazing ! If you haven't tried the food here, you haven't really seen Lisbon ! Trust me on this ! This the Michelin equivalent !

A very successful realization, had to come several times in order to enjoy all the food and drinks. Interesting also early in the morning when there are less tourists
Loved it! One of the highlights of our visit to Lisbon, we went there 3 times in 3 days. Awesome food and variety, awesome vibe. Knocked 1 star because finding a place to sit down is an epic endeavour, consequence of the success of this place.
the live singing is very good , the place looks really beautiful, the waoters are very polite, the fopd is good and the place overall is very nice.
Delicious place! Had the local seabass at one of the places and it was delicious.
Old market hall, renovated and filled with all kind of restaurants. It used to be a great place to walk around and have lunch or dinner. When we got back in September 17, it was totally packed. No free tables. Very loud, no relaxed atmosphere. We decided to leave and have lunch somewhere else.
Awesome place and always make sure I visit when in Lisbon.
Sao Bento is good for steak. Can get busy and difficult to get a seat but persevere you will get one in the end.
Used to love visiting and bringing visitors to this place. However now it's turned into an overcrowded fight for overpriced food and seating all served with complete disinterest by overworked staff.
Time Out is exactly what we will be doing and moving on to support many of the excellent independent local eateries around this beautiful city.
A food market with many types of shops, food of various types, confectionery, beverages, wines, beers. The market is designed as a closed area with shops around and in the middle of tables around which you can sit and eat. Payment in-store and self-serve. The complex is pleasant and varied.
Very busy. Worth the wait even if packed. Great food, lovely wine and beer. The Pata negra jamon was particularly delicious.
I wish i could spend here the whole day and try everything! We had dinner at one of the places with seafood (on the left side from the entrance) - and it was very delicious: octopus with rice, grilled fish, shrimps with garlic, oysters.
Amazing! An old market that has been converted into an upscale food court. This is a collection of high end restaurants. Several top chefs from the area have come here to offer very tasty food. Many many choices of cuisine. Good wine and beer choices. There are tables and chairs. But the wait to get a seat is long. We stood and ate, and had very good conversations with a couple from England who also stood and ate and talked. It is a place to be checked out. Don't miss it. Ambience is great.
Great food and drink selections indoor. Had an awesome time.
Great place to chill in the evening. Wide variety of food and wine/drinks. Cute gift store as well. Don't forget to eat the Chocolate cake from Santini.
The options you have in this place are amazing. This is like a food court on steroids. We walked around there twice trying to decide where to go. The pastel were good and so was my meal. I highly recommend this place. We wanted to go back but didn t have time.
Didn't like that all stall signs were the same. Not real character in the market, very standardised, which is not why I would go to a food market.
Interesting food market. Lots of choices. We tried the suckling pig and cod fish- was ok.
Plenty of good food but always crowded. It is very hard to get a sit.
Could be anywhere, definitely not a must do - it's a real tourist trap. I didn't see any Portuguese people, paid 20 euros for an OK pizza, struggled to find a seat and felt like I was in London.
Cool place to have dinner with local and modern food in a great ambiance.
I found this place to be very expensive compared to the rest of the city. That said everything we had was amazing and everything that we did not eat looked delicious.
Great place to grab many different bites.
The variety is huge and what we tried was delicious.
Unfortunately it is always crowded and hard to find a place to sit.
For small groups won't be a problem, but large ones will have a hard time trying to be together.
We have beef Asian tartar, cod tarts, and another tartar we caant believe how yummy they was.. Can't remember the name of restaurant definitely go back again.. THX U
Too crowded, you have to hunt for seats. There are some nice food places, but next time i would just go to a restaurant or to some random street food place.
Great place to find food at anytime. If you are vegan and gluten free, try the vegetarian yellow curry at asian lab. It's really good, I had it two days in a row :P
A vibrant location with a wide range of different good and drinks.
Simply love this place! Went there 3 times during my visit to Lisbon. Wide variety of excellent food, bars, and desserts.
Great food, many options and the overall environment is highly fun
Great touristy place. We enjoyed small plates from various vendors. There's also a market for fresh veggies next door. It is a busy place, with good reason
I accidentally took a free tram ride from Belem to this market hall. I m really sorry for not paying for the ticket, I thought the card I had at the time was valid. No one caught me, but still, I am guilt ridden over the 1.50 euro I didn t pay the public transportation of Lisbon. Market is overpriced compared to other quality local establishments.
Great location and lots of nice places to get food! It's a bit of a tourist trap though so maybe time your visit
Super nice place and various stands to eat from. The concept is amazing BUT, good luck finding a seat... it took me 10 minutes to find a place, my meal was no longer hot when I got to sit down. They should think of a better system for seats as they don t monitor the number of meals served and the number of seats available... it was frustrating.
An authentic market but with a subtle difference. The left and right hand sides of the market are full of meat, fish, flowers and vegetable stalls full of local people. The large central hall however is surrounded by food counters serving meals from almost every cuisine around the world. Interspersed with the food stalls and dotted about in the centre of the hall are drinks vendors, once again serving everything from vegetable smoothies to gin bars and everything in between. Just grab something to eat and drink and find a seat on one of the huge benches and enjoy.
The concept is brilliant and I suppose that all tourists visit there at least once.
On weekends the place is quite full and it seems that there aren t enough WCs for visitors, which could be a problem. We didn t spend much time there, mainly because the place is a bit too crowded and the music is extremely loud, as if you visited a large night club. With the loud and uncomfortable music in the background, how are visitors supposed to relax and have a good time there? We wonder, who chooses the volume of the music. It may not be healthy for the people who are working in the market hall.
Very lively. Great selection of all different types of Portuguese good and drinks, plus some crafts, all at reasonable prices.
You cant go wrong with whichever stall of food you choose.
Nice foodhall to find something to eat. There is something for almost anybody. The only thing is that there isn't enough place to sit so we had to takeaway and eat our food outside.
Great choice of drink matched with your choice of food equals a lively place to spend an hour or two. A magnet for tourists and locals alike, slightly pricey over the local bars/restaurants but worth it for the novelty value.
Usually crowded but a great place to drink a glass of wine and have a bite!
Great food, great atmosphere. Difficulty getting a seat as sooooo busy
It can get incredibly busy difficult to find somewhere to sit and eat. You must try the Custard Tarts.
Exquisite place at Lisbon's down town, full of fancy high-quality cuisine, but keeping the Market's "open space" identity, as well as side selling points. A MUST for any visitor.
Really crowded place, plates are on the expensive side but an enriching experience nevertheless.
Very artificial place. Not for the taste of local Lisboetas. Suitable for tourists and suburban individuals. Nice trendy chef's restaurant choices. Not a fan of this McDonald's self-service tray concept. Very expensive for the kind of service and food.
All the guild books rave about Time Out, and easy to see why. You could spend a hole evening eating, drinking and people watching. Food and drinks all very well priced and good quality.
the best food market I've been to, but the prices are restaurant prices
Cool atmosphere. Lively, vibrant market. This is the place to go for anyone that loves food. Has something for everyone, gets really crowded around dinner time. Well worth a visit.
A MUST when visiting Lisbon. Be prepared to wait a while and search for a table. Going in a big group is challenging to sit together. Great variety of cuisine and just an amazing buzz of activity all around
Great food market, the cocktail bar is great. Best burgers we had in years
Try the pregos and the ground burgers and the pasteis....actually just work your way around the market
The best place to choose whatever you want to it and be part of a cultural scene.
I was a bit disappointed. It seemed as a must visit place in Lisbon, and honestly speaking not worth your time. Crowded, so crowded and loud. You can eat the same food in other restaurants in Lisbon but with a nicer atmosphere and actually enjoying every bite of it, without being pushed around and not hearing your partner.
Great food market and totally spoilt for choice!Come slightly before noon to wander around as it can get really packed! We ordered a bunch of stuff to share and I think that s the only way to do it!
Had the beef burger (tasty!), turkey burger (which had a nice flavor but was slightly over cooked), salted fish cod (so tasty!), sea bass tar tar (yum!), francesinha (unsure how it compares to Porto but this was huge and a lil too salty for my liking!) and great Portuguese wines!
Very busy all the time, need to improve the quality of the dishes.
Still worth a visit if you want to spend afternoon in Lisbon.
Amazing variety of excellent food, wines and cocktails.
Pricy but so much fun. I wish I had a bigger stomach to try everything!
As good as everyone says. Not just for tourists. Every type of food you can think of.
Good food market with plenty of options. Nothing in particular to stand out, you could probably find better and cheaper restaurant scattered throughout the city but this is a good option for lunch.
Nice place to see but I suppose due to many one-time visitors the quality of the food and drinks is lacking. Great to see but not best food or wine in town
Awesome selection of Portuguese food and drink. Some of the best steak tartare is available there from the Tartare outlet which also serves seafood options
Really cool place, but too much people - hard to find place to eat.
I heard great things about this market , although I was blown away by the quality food and choices, must go
A nice place, but with over priced food. Nice for a beer with friends and some snacks, but I'm sure you'll find better options on the nearby restaurants for dinner or lunch.
Thousands of options to taste. Great utilisation of the Hermitage and cultural places.
A great modern place to eat and shop. Lots of choices of food and gifts! Fish and fresh food market in the morning in the hall next door.
Sunday to Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm Saturday from 10am to 02 am
Not worth it. Packed all the time. Food is ok but there are better places to eat nearby. Food markets in other cities are much better. Feels very gentrified and generic rather than local people doing local food. More food court than food market.
Impressive market with lots of restaurants with all kind of food. Must see.
Too busy. Not enough seating to seat everyone who has purchased good. If you want to eat sitting down, find somewhere elae
This is a hotspot on Lisbon. Many places with diferent kinds of food and beverages. A especial local for wine lovers. Beautiful people and great music on the air.
It is a nice food market where there are a lot of food choices!
All markets should be like this. Very high class individual shops and great atmosphere. This is what you dream of.
Food, music, desserts, fresh seafood, what's not to love about the Time Out? My new favourite in Lisboa !
Food was excellent, although on the expensive side. Super crowded so you have to be a vulture for a seat. We had baby octopus salad and an amazing tartare of baby bass.
Super cool place with a TON of selection. If you can't find something for you here... You may be a robot.
Amazing place with so many wonderful choices by local chefs. It operates more like an upscale, clean hipster food court if that makes sense. The only drawback is how overwhelmingly packed it can be and how it can be hard to find seats. As a solo traveler, I found it easier and preferred to sit on the sides on each restaurant with casual table services provided by each resto if you re able to grab a high chair.
This market/food court is great for lunch. So many choices to choose from and all at good prices. There s Chinese, Italian, American, Portuguese cuisine, and ice cream!! Better to come for lunch rather than dinner though because it s really crowded during dinner.
It's a kind of street food in the fish market. During the closing hours of the fish market this place is full of small restaurants where you can taste the great seafood.
tasty food and wine. great place to stop for a bite.
