Staff was lost but made up for it with free beer. Food was good. Pretty limited selection due to covid. View outside was good.

fish tacos great. service was great. fish combo good. huge shrimp. went mid week, fall season and not many people. can't imagine it peaceful in summer.

It was our first time there and the meal was relatively good. I gave the meal 3 stars because the issue with my order is that the crab cake filling was too salty. Yes, It was filled with plenty of meat, it simply had way too much salt to my liking. I found myself drinking a great deal of water while eating it and after fininshing the first crab cake. I could not send it back because we ordered to go. My husband really enjoyed the cold fish dinner and my potato salad and veggies sides were very good.

It was just chaos. I understand with COVID-19 and what not but it was just ridiculous. We sat at the hostess for ten minutes, got seated at a sticky table, sat for twenty minutes before any one realized we were there. The waiters were flying in and out of the doors trying to keep up with everything. It was just crazy. We ordered and the food was soggy and cold. We were there for two hours and spent 75 dollars on two appetizers and one meal. Don't know how that happened. But it was just terrible. By the time we got the check, we just wanted out of there.

Fun place to eat, drink and hang with friends. Little on the pricy side for the food quality but lively and friendly environment makes up for it

This wss a great experience with the best food. The server was extra special as well! Highly recommend

Friendly people, great view to eat on the river, service room over an hour for the food to come out then most of the food was burnt. I was greatly disappointed especially for the price. I will cross this one off and use a chain seafood place for better prove and quality.

The views of the river, the deck, and the tiki bar make up for the challenges. Like parking, climbing over very active double train tracks, average food that's a little pricey. And their strange inability to have the steamed food kitchen food come out at the same time as the other menu items.

Well let me see. I was watching Fox news and Tony Perkins listed 5 must places to visit in Woodbridge and this restaurant being one of them, well my wife and I did visit Tim's on Saturday.. the crabs are good however the stuffed shrimp and crab cakes are by far the worst we have every had how is it you spend a 100.00 and still end up at Burger King..I do not recommend this place unless you are getting crabs.. never again will I listen to fake news.

They have great mixed drinks.. Not a place you want to dress up for.. the food is great..

Little pricy when paying for 4 people, but well worth it. Live music, good service, & right next to the water not much more I could ask for.

Service is good and certainly enjoyed the ambiance of the location and proximity to the shore. Wife was taken aback as to the desolate location and makes it unique. I had the Rockfish blackened served on the side with baked beans and potato salad. I was disappointed in the blackened rockfish as it was inconsistently cooked, salty and very average. The baked beans and potato salad were excellent. Wife had friend oysters with hush puppies and coleslaw. Hush puppies were excellent and the coleslaw was served sloppy and was bland. My disappointment is primarily derived from the cost of the food in proportion to the quality. We certainly do not mind spending the money but the food should deliver and in this case it did not.

When you think of a river crab house, this is what you should picture. An eclectic mix of yard sale art, outdoor dining, cold beer and crabs. What a grate experience, do expect linen table cloths and high brow service, you get a roll of paper towels, a mallet and local staff serving quickly with a smile. Crabs a re great in season, hush puppies fill the void and the beer is served cold.

Playful outdoor eating, but a little crowded. Great destination and must see if you are boating the river.

Food and service was just ok. Alot of choices for off the wall adult beverages but I wasn't impressed with my choice. I live in Annapolis so I probably won't be back.

Great food, great price, great views. A little tricky finding it the place and the road is a little rough. Worth the drive.

If you can find this place in Dumfries, it's worth the trip! The food is excellent. It's a very casual place with outdoor and indoor bars. The parking lot is small so go earlier rather than later. They have good seafood, a kids menu , even steak is on the menu. It has a large list of mixed drinks, several beers (although I didn't ask what was draft and what was bottled) and although the wine list is short and generic, I had some really good dry white wine. This is a no frills place, plastic utensils and cups, paper towel roll for napkins, yet actual plates. I liked it and would go again. Not sure I would go at night if I hadn't been there before, as it is between the river and the railroad tracks and the road is not paved, but it is clearly popular!!

This is the first time there for my good friend her birthday dinner where she wishes to go. I'm from Arlington, VA in the downtown area for 27 years. A hostess helped us. A waiter did keep us up as well. I place an order for the Crabmeat cake platter dinner. Butter finger drink, yummy! I'm glad to get out of here to have a good time since 7 months ago my last time at the restaurant. One day, I will be back here again with friends as well.

This was my second time to Tim's Rivershore Restaurant, I love this place, the seafood is amazing, great water views, and live music. Awesome experience.

Great atmosphere/ambiance, the waiter was VERY competent, courteous and helpful, and the food was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!

Atmosphere is great food is great prices are what you'd expect. Had to knock a star off because of exceedingly slow service Memorial day but I can't be mad since it felt like short staff in the kitchen, I felt that too when I technically didn't get what I ordered but I sympathize - I think I wound up with a better piece of fish anyway. It was just one experience, I'd still recommend the place.

I love going here in the spring and summer. Great view, good music and a happy atmosphere. I haven't been to Tim's River shore since 2013/2014 and I went a few nights ago and I wasn't impressed on the food. I ordered the crab cake dinner and my crab cakes were over cooked. My daughter had fried shrimp and from the taste the oil must been used a few times too many because it had a funny after taste. Needs a little improvement in the kitchen area but its a good place to go for a good scene.

Great place to visit with the family and enjoy a nice crab dinner while sitting on the patio overlooking the water and boats. Our waiter for tonight was Will, and he was very nice and courteous. The menu was delicious and well priced. The only negative I can think of is that the bathroom could be a bit more cleaner. But overall a good place and great value for your money.

Great seafood, great drinks, great service, their "44 by the Shore" drink challenge is fun & keeps us coming back.

The service was wonderful. They did a great job on table spacing, and the food was incredible. I'm glad to see them doing so well.

Amazing seafood dishes, five stars! Drinks were great, as well as scenery. Waterfront establishment, so amazing! Live music, the piers, the atmosphere, the river! All together! A truly unique experience. This place has earned it's spot on the river, here in Woodbridge. And it has to stay here!!!

Just left with out our dinner!! I had been here years ago and thought the food was decent. Tonight we took some family that was visiting and wanted seafood from a dive place so we brought them here. First they forgot our appetizer then they brought one adult meal and none of the kids meals! 3 starving kids and adults except one and no explanation. (Party of 8) Then we say something and they say they fell behind. 15 more minutes go by and finally kids food came with grilled cheese burnt! Still no adult meals. Needless to say we cancelled the order and left with a 70.00 bill!! Never will we go there again!!

They serve old food I worked there for 3 years , they have told me if the food was bad to still serve it . It makes people sick ! Tims is cool with the health inspector so they pass every year because of their personal relationship. They have roaches and customer services is terrible .

We had dinner in person, inside on October 1st. We then ordered crab cakes to go for the rest of our family at home who did not want to leave the house. It was the best! I was so thankful to be able to have a meal in person and the staff was great. Everything was clean and everyone was wearing masks! Thanks so much for a fun night during the pandemic. The view from inside and out is just amazing! We will for sure be coming back!

Tim's is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. The food is excellent, the entertainment awesome and the staff always treats us well.

Was hopeful on the gamble to drive out of the way to get to a place on the river that was laid back with a tiki feel. This place has it! The waitstaff was good, the food was good. Too bad they decided to put the trash corral at the front door that wafts over the entire outdoors. Nothing says, nice out doors feeling than rotting crabs filling the river's edge. What a pity. If you set your expectation not needing pristine, clean tables, and understand that casual water front locations can be a little, well, a little "sticky," then you're good to go. If you're a germaphobe or from the health department (and want to avoid work), you may want to avoid this gem!

I loved the food. It is a little on the pricier side but the food made it all worth it.

They really need to find somebody that knows how to shuck oysters because they couldn't cut them off the bottom shell and three or four out of the Dozen were dried out and terrible. their service was very slow and not very attentive. I had to ask 3 times to Simply get a fork. their location is great, you couldn't ask for a better place, sitting on the river. beautiful Breeze. beautiful views but the service and the food is Terrible.

They only have like 2 fish. I know its a seafood restaurant but it stinks in there. Tables are sticky. Flies everywhere. I see why most people sit outside. The hushpuppies are good. Limited options. The drink menu is significantly longer than the food menu. Priorities.

Being outside near the water, the food was great and thevmployees were nice.

Glad I didn't listen to the other reviews and made my own decision. The server was great, friendly and attentive. The crabs were fresh, shrimp was delicious and the view perfect. Perfect place for lunch on the water, the place fills up really fast so get there early. Thanks for a great birthday lunch!

Randomly wanted seafood on a road trip from NY to SC. Saw the rating and amount of reviews, and decided to go for it. Drive off 95, hit some curvy roads, over a train track, gravel one way road...train passes...

We are so happy we went! Great seafood, incredibly friendly service and MY GOD the view. If I lived in Dumfries, it would be a weekly occurance for sure.
Will definitely go back if ever in the area.

Food was awesome. I was pleasantly suprised. The place was very fun.

The Clam Strips a are absolutely to die for!!! Sweet, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.

Amazing place for some of the freshest seafood around! Fabulous friendly service, delicious food, and amazing drinks! Will was our server and took care of us like family.

Great spot on the water and the boys liked the train tracks. They were out of Jack Daniels or they would have gotten 5 stars. :)

Best seafood on the river. Live entertainment casual dress. No party to big.

Good seafood, but coming by boat is a better option than trying to find parking. Average beer selection, but some interesting cocktails are available.

Love this place. The owner, Tim, is as personable as they come.

Staff is great, my boat broke free of its anchor while there and the were quick to secure it and help me bring it back to the restaurant.

What I liked:
food didn't disappoint
friendly staff. Everyone was nice and happy
right by the water. You can pull in from your boat if you have one.
live music. One man show but he was great
indoor and outdoor seating.
bar outside with plenty of drink choices
great seafood selection (fried, steamed)
relaxed vibe
small restroom but they have a baby changing table which is good for mommas alike
food and drink prices are pretty average(was expecting more since it's right on the water

Other thoughts:
parking is just a bit of a struggle. it gets busy
there is a bit of a smell from the garbage(shells and all but only smelled it as we were leaving)

All in all would recommend and definitely going back.

I made a visit to this place Cz there was an article about it being forced to close by property owner, this is a def local gathering restaurant, challenging but exciting drive around the roads to get there , service is fast and friendly, I hope they stay in business, right on the shores of Potomac river ! Nice !

Oh..my..gaud!! This place is so bad scary dangerous. Has not had a health code inspection in 23 years! Every (literally) surface is sticky. Bits of crumbs and food in every nook and cranny. Fly droppings completely covering everything in the kitchen. Warm flat beer served in 8oz. plastic cups for $6. "Locals love it!" Aka; local red necks with rebel flags and no dental plan hitting on the hired help. We walked and Ran out!!!
