The food and drinks were great. It's an amazing little place to grab some drinks and gorge on great seafood. Not a cheap place to eat at but totally worth. They offer unlimited crabs when they're in season!

Tim's is always a great time. Good food, large portions and fun entertainment. My fried shrimp were a little bit over cooked but the strawberry short cake drink is to die for. Go for the atmosphere and the all you can eat crabs for 25 bucks and enjoy water and music.

I figured out while people give this place negative reviews - they don't want anyone going there !!
Having eaten there four times in the last year, Tim's is truly "one of a kind."
Name another restaurant where you have to cross active train tracks to access a restaurant that is right on the Potomac River.
It's a wide ranging menu but listen to me - get the crab cake sandwich. For $11.50 you get a generous sized crab cake and fries and the sandwich is great. Funky adult beverages - people tie their boats up to piers - you can sit outside under umbrellas - energetic young people make up the waitstaff - boom - it's so fun...

Tim's is a very casual seafood place. They have excellent food and alcoholic beverages and the atmosphere is very fun. All these qualities make for an extremely busy place on the weekends but a great place nonetheless to visit with friends

It's an adventure just getting there. Nice paved road turns into a narrow rock road. There is a small parking lot but a lot of people park where the paved road ends. We had the fried shrimp and clams platter. I hadn't had fried clams in a long time and these hit the spot. The shrimp was good also. We were there on a Saturday at 5 pm and they already had live music.

I love the scenery at the restaurant and the staff was awesome but we got some crabs and they were not good. They were light and tasted really bad. I will go again for try some
Of the other food options that sounded delicious.

The website is deceiving! Please read all one star reviews they are accurate! No class...just trash... The food was all over priced and very disappointing. The place was so dirty/nasty I don't even want to return for drinks and a view.

The atmosphere was real nice with a live band and the people were hella cool but the food was nothing to brag about. It's right on the water and could be a romantic date night. Ladies... no heels. It's not that kind of place. The walk up to the resturant is over silver dollar size rocks and we were seated in the "sand pit". None of this would be a problem in flats. I ordered the muscles and it was horrible. My husband enjoyed the seafood pasta but it was bit on the salty side for me. I would go back to drink and chill on the water if I'm in the area.

I must share my disappointment with my most recent visit. My family and I have always enjoyed our visits to Tim's. In fact, we drive 45 mins just to get there but my recent visit this past weekend was so disappointing that I will not be back anytime soon. Besides the fact there was a hair in my food, and that i didnt get a few items that i ordered ever brought out to me, the worst part was, the bugs!!! Since most of the tables near the water are set up in sand, there are an incredible amount of mosquitoes, biting flies, and sand gnats. As soon as food was brought out, the gnats swarmed our food and faces. My kids kept complaining about the bugs flying into their eyes and hair. We could not even eat our food due to them swarming. The flies loved biting everyone and you could see most other tables continuing to smack their legs. We asked for bug spray and the waitress said they had no more. I asked to speak to a manager as we decided to leave as soon as possible. She said the owners knew, and their "bug guy" has no way to treat the area. Evidently this is an ongoing problem. Save yourselves a trip and some money. Not worth the bug for semi okay crab.

Saturday night the place was packed. Two bands. One for beach bar and an 80's cover band for the older dinner crowd that was great. Service was good and prommpt despite the crowd. Thanks Max. The stuffed rock fish was very fresh. We enjoyed it. We'll go back.

The food is great, the staff is super-friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful. You definitely feel like you're on vacation and part of the local crowd. Everybody is having a good time and it's contagious.

Been coming at this restaurant ever since I move in VA. My parents always take me here for crabs. It s a good place to eat and drink with your friends and family. They also have their own dock to park boats. Service is good but the only thing I notice is every time I come back at this restaurant it feels like they need a major deep cleaning inside and outside the restaurant. But other than that the food and ambiance is great.

The service was fantastic, the seafood was okay; nothing special. However, it was extremely disappointing to find a restaurant in this day and age on the water where everything is served in single-use plastic. Plastic silverware wrapped in plastic, plastic drink cups with plastic lids and plastic straws, plastic cups of condiments that I didn't ask for, want or use - all blowing off tables and into the water. I won't be back.

Loved it. Great food, on the water. Fair prices. We'll definitely be back.

Only downside is getting there and parking. You have to actually go off road to get there. I was worried my car would be damaged because of the mounds of rocks and giant holes in the path that leads to the restaurant.

Great restaurant, but it would be even better if they invested in some paving.

This is a hidden gem behind the railroad tracks. You will be lucky to enjoy an experience here. They have a boat deck, beach space, live music, indoor and outdoor seating, a bar on the patio, great seafood, a variety of other treats & goods, great drinks, and great service! A fantastic Ten!

It's a unique venue with a friendly staff, a bit off the beaten path but that's alright. Every surface in the joint was sticky, including the menus. The flies outside were bad and the flies inside were bad too. But, to be honest, all of the negatives I mentioned are part of what makes it unique. I has Snowcrab legs and they were incredible. My partners hamburger was just okay. I would recommend this place for sure. Especially if the weather is nice.

I love this place so much.. so many memorys here. The hushpuppys are great. Food is inexpensive.... but the views are worth the drive any time.. its so beaituful.. you can park your boat at the dock and go in.

Very casual indoor and outdoor dining on the Potomac River in Woodbridge. A fun atmosphere for groups and kids tho it can get pretty noisy. The food is good but not great. Drinks are plentiful but we aren't drinkers so I can't review them. Come by car or boat...but realize that the parking lot and road leading to it are all unpaved!

Went to the "Not the 4th of July" event. Extremely good food as always. Love the crab balls & all the custom drink options. Servers & bartenders were awesome. Told us the kitchen was slow & might be a wait for the food - but it was faster than any restaurant I've been even being an event day. Perfect views. But anti-climactic, fireworks were only 9 minutes this year - previous years were around 30 minutes and beat out DC as I remembered. Still - an awesome day & night on the water.

All you can eat blue crabs hits the spot every time! That says a lot from a MD girl! Also, that special blue drink (name escapes me, but it's rum based) is sooooo yummy! ...taste great and leaves you feeling great too!

We sat at our table for 45 mins before anyone took our drink order. Once we finally were able to order 2 dozen jumbo crabs the waitress said I am sorry the table next to you got the last of the Jumbo's. The table next to us got here 40 mins after us. The service sucks don't waste your time or money.

NEGATIVE STARS!! AWFUL DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. want my money back! And then will call the Health Department on these guys! This is one of the worst experiences I ve ever had. First you are greeted by the awful smell of the dumpsters. They were so full the trash showed above the 7 ft. fence used to hide the dumpster. The restaurant was dirty; there were flies and bugs. We had to use our tea tree oil to keep those pesky flies off our table. The bathrooms were peed on. So disgusting I couldn t use one. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and it wasn t anything special. I could get that and even better off a food truck. My daughter order chicken nuggets and I had to wonder where they got the chicken. It was hard as it could be, not a kid friendly meal and I m glad she did not eat it (wonder if she could ve gotten sick). A waitress then proceeded to sneeze over mu other daughter s shoulder realizing what she had done and not even bothering to apologize or wipe her off. EWWW!! There was food all over the floor, ideal for mice and roaches and to top it off there was a young man in the restaurant without a shirt and in his underwear!! Health Department check these violations, please. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL and do not believe the photo gallery!

We went here to celebrate my cousin's birthday. He said it was amazing, and I saw the reviews on here, so I decided this will be a great experience.

I do have to say that the waitress was extremely nice. If it were just for the service, I would have given this place five stars. She was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed.

I wish I could say the same for the food. The clam chowder should have been called a potato & cheese soup because that's all I tasted. I then had the crab imperial that was super dry, and not worth the money that I spent on it. My mom felt the same way. We felt that the food was extremely overpriced for the quality. The platters were over $23.00, and they were only worth about half of that.

When we got home, we ate watermelon to get some of the taste out of my mouth. It pained me to have spent so much on probably what was the worst food that I have tasted in years.

I will say that the ambiance was nice and the view was pretty. This could be a good place for drinks.

Honestly we had stopped going here for lunch previously due to very lengthy waits for food on a number of occasions (even when not busy) - but today we took our first meal at a restaurant since COVID at Tim's so we could sit on the dock and have some crabs in a safe setting, and our food, drinks - even crabs - came quick and hot.
The kids enjoyed the little beach area as usual, the dock was open for our boat, the bathrooms we're about as clean as usual and we had a great time finally getting the kids to eat out.
