I really like that they have outdoor seating especially when the sun is going down has an amazing view, the crabs are always fresh tasting. The staff is always very helpful even in such a very large location.

Horrible!! Food, bland river seafood. Smoking everywhere. Who allows smoking in eating establishments anymore. A blast of nicotine with every bite. If you have asthmatic children dont bring them here. Awful for my kids. Its paradise for the 40 to 50 something shirtless tattoo singles. Server was actually good.

It is sad to hear this location is closing down. I ordered a Fried Rockfish Dinner Platter for my husband and I got the Broiled Seafood Platter which had Oysters, Scallops, Fish, Shrimp, and a Crab Cake! I loved my meal! If you want to visit this restaurant, you will have to go to one of their other locations, Lake Anna, is one I can tell you off the top of my head.
This is an iconic establishment that will be missed. I hope they can find something along the water close by so I won't have to travel far to visit.

Also I bought some shirts to remember this restaurant by.

I call it Tim's overpriced seafood dump! The place is disgustingly filthy and the food is nasty, especially for what they charged! My oysters were burnt and my friend's shrimp was rubbery! Decided to give it a second chance...BAD MOVE. I ordered the all you can eat crabs. There was something missing in the crabs....I think it was called MEAT!!! All you can eat CRAB SHELLS!!!! I don't want to discuss the conditions of the bathrooms...I rather go behind a bush! The service was horrible...slow waitresses and rude!!! If you like FRESH seafood, don't go to Tim's! This is overpriced frozen nasty food! STAY AWAY!!!!

If I had the option to give them zero stars I would. I been going to Tim's for many of years now and this 4th of July 2016 was one of the worst visits yet! It was about 1 hour and 30 min wait, and which there were plenty of tables that were open and cleaned off. Our waitress Amber T. had excuses after excuses of why our crabs weren't coming out and how she said that the owner Tim said "That he didn't care" whatever that means. Plus I was seeming other tables getting there crabs that came in after us. In total time we were there for 3 hours and 30 mins waiting for crabs and which we just canceled and left. Overall you will be sure that I won't be coming back to this location ever again, you lost my business.

First and last time visiting. It was three of us and it was NOT busy at all. We waited 2 hrs for our food. A few tables came after us and got food before we even got a drink. This was my first time ever not tipping but you can't reward bad service. I asked for a water because of how hot it was, 20 minutes later I went to the bar and got it myself....

Being a busy weekend, staff needs to be reevaluated. It was not so busy that an hour wait was deemed for appetizers. Staff management needs to be re-evaluated. feel sorry for the bartenders. We cancelled our order and left. We are regulars too.

Great seafood "joint", lots of fun, lively, food is good and good options. Good beer, lots of cocktail options. If you have a boat, arrive by boat at their dock! But don't be in a hurry on weekends!

So I happened to be looking at Google maps over the Dumfries area and discovered a random restaurant next to the water. Being the adventurer I am I hauled my family out there to see what it was about. Now I must admit, going out to this place at night was a little sketchy. Lots of winding roads and ditches just off the shoulders of the roads. Then at the last turn before you get on the road to the restaurant (a dirt road that is) you at met with a very sharp left turn just beyond that train tracks. I thought I was in the wrong place for a second. Everything look sort of industrial and unfinished. None the less, the broiled crab cake and soft shell crab sandwich were delicious, the service was great, and the have a list of drinks that they claim to be good. I have yet to try any of them but I will get to it on one of my next visits. The restaurant is worth a try.

Food took forever to come. Hardly seen the waitress. Still here waiting on silverware for my stuffed shrimp and coleslaw. Huge disappointment. Members of my party are still waiting on their food. Won't come back.

really depends what you are going here for. for just drinks it is not bad and you can't beat the location, especially coming by boat. The kitchen and wait staff are simply WAY overworked. On the weekends expect to wait a LONG time for your food - like literally at least an hour. Also expect your order to be wrong. Everyone is very nice about it but you need to have alot of time on your hands and a more relaxed attitude than I am capable of.

Great Atmosphere, you pay for the views and experience. Rare find on the Potomac. The vibe is laid back and they're known for having awesome live music shows.

Tim, the owner, is active and involved- ensuring both employees and customers are taken care of.

If you have not been, you must go! Located Close to Potomac Shores..

If I could rate it any lower I would. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Seriously can't get over the 3, 4, and 5 star ratings people are giving for reviews! Make's me wonder if these people were paid to write good reviews because if you know anything about restaurants the first thing that should stand out is the cleanliness. Well...the place was so dirty and disgusting, both in the eating area and in the bathrooms. I'd rather go to the bathroom in a port-a-potty! I'm seeing reviews from over a year ago complaining about the same thing so obviously they don't care about what customers say about their restaurant. Also, it smelled to high-heaven because of the trash cans that were located close to where we were sitting.
You would think going on a Saturday night you get the best and more experienced wait-staff...so very wrong. I'd hate to see what the servers are like on off-peak day/nights. When we were seated it took about 15 minutes for the server to bring us menu's and ask us for drinks. They served alcoholic drinks in cheap styrofoam cups! We were like, really?? Then, about 45 minutes later the server returns to table, mind you they still have not asked us if we wanted anything to eat. The server looked confused and surprised that we actually wanted to order food! Don't be fooled by the pictures you see on the website, it's all FAKE!! Nothing on the website looks anywhere near what the restaurant actually looks like!! Ignore the reviews about the one person saying the place is good and the bad reviews were wrong...they're WRONG!! Don't go, Don't waste your time or your money! Stay far away from this place.

The only good thing about this place is the views, everything else was horrible. As you walk to the restaurant's entrance, you have to go by the trash containers, needless to say they stunk really bad.

This is a unique place. You should see this place with your own eyes.
The road ends at the railroad. It is confusing! You need to cross the rail road by car or by walking. Then you need go to to left about 200 feet.
This is an extra ordinary place because of location but the food was not good this time.
We got crab soup, calamar and entry with fish and crab cake. I liked the fish and french fries, not the rest.
There are many area of improvements. There was no napkins! No metal utensils! They gave us plastic utensils and paper towels that most fast foods use in restrooms! Tables, chairs, etc. were ugly and cheap.
So, for investors, there is an opportunity here.

Went for lunch, only 4 customers were in the restaurant and the customer service was VERY slow. The crab dip is basically a melted block of cream cheese served with Ritz crackers. I expected a little more for a 13 dollar appetizer. I brought this up
To the waitress and the response was, sorry about that. We will not be returning.

The food was ok and tasted good. It didn't really stand out too much for me. I would go back but it will be a while before I do. it was also a bit pricy and not enough food for the price I paid for.

The other thing too was that they took a bit too long to serve me. It was a little busy cause there was only a group of like 15 people there, but my server didn't swing by as much. She wasn't even helping out the other server with the big crowd. So yeah.... may be I'll go back in a couple of months.

A bit pricey for the amount of food, but friendly staff, fun entertainers and a unique view. I've never eaten indoors there, as outside is where we want to be.

Bathrooms extremely small and overused, if you get my hint.

This definitely feels like a locals only type of place. It s on the water and the views are great. I ve always enjoyed my food but I d recommend going on a week night. The weekends are very busy and the kitchen gets backed up. The food is More

Went here today with a decent size party. We were going to be out on the boat but always have people at a table. Trying to support a local business and dropping at the least 1000.00 for a few hours. They did not want our business. We were told they didnt want us taking up their parking and we only had 2 cars. Terrible management.

Tim's Rivershore Restaurant is a great place to soak up the sun and lay down some fun. Blue crab is delicious. Fish tacos yum! Don't forget to try one of 44 specialty drinks to wash it down. Love this place.

Literally have to call the place while standing at the host station to place a order to get nothing but busy signals. Lol I'll take my money elsewhere, tha js for the experience though

I'm not sure why this place has 4 stars! This is a seafood restaurant on the waterfront, but selling frozen seafood. I ordered the popcorn shrimp, which was a big portion but frozen and no flavor. The calamari had too much breading and very salty. I ordered the crab dip and it comes served with Ritz crackers and it looked like cottage cheese. I was very disappointed with the quality and price of the food. This place must be heavily supported by the locals because there is no way that it deserves 4 atars!

A little hidden gem. Great affordable seafood. Very fresh and cooked to perfection. We were a party of eight and ordered a variety of things on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their food. The waiter was very attentive and efficient. Will return again and again!
